Could you explain what is this? Set of pie gsi images existed as the subject say, or set of gsi tested on mi pad 4?
Pie is outside of my interesting because of exposed. Will you create the list tested on pad 4 gsi oreos?

thank you very much! Which one are you using? I want a stable and not missing version of the feature, I like PIXEL ROM

Has any ROM or lets say Kernel within a ROM Widevine L1 support and not L3? For HD-streaming?

@thE_29
L1 Widevine keys would have to be in SOC secure enclave, they aren't -> no ROM can enable L1 on this tablet.
Xiaomi could add L1 keys to the device (it has a supported SOC and device unique key which are both requirements for Widevine provisioning 3.0 - OTA - to work), just like they are doing with Pocophone, but it's 99.99% sure they won't - Chinese users don't care and Mi Pad 4 had no global release, nor there is a global release planned.
Assume L1 will never come to Pad 4, because the chance of it happening is super low.

I did all of this except #3. I know mine shipped with a vendor rom as it was already unlocked. Is there a way tomake sure all of the vendor portion is gone?

Etyl, do you know how widevine is handled on PCs with browser based viewing? Is it via a web plugin? I am curios if that could be a strategy for Android devices that lack support in soc/keys. I think the Kodi netflix implementation relies on underlying soc/keys.

Same way as mobile devices - with keys in hardware secure enclave and with extra software security:
On PC you're watching in 720p unless you have an Intel 7xxx, 8xxx or 9xxx CPU which comes with Widevine keys in secure enclave AND you're using Internet Explorer (for up to 1080p) or Edge/Microsoft store Netflix app on Windows 10 (for 4k). Source: https://help.netflix.com/en/node/23742

This thread is outdated, Oreo port will be uploaded to this other thread from now on.
Download link 7.11.18:
Mega
Baidu
Android One Nougat 7.12.19 is out but not ported. However, you can install it using my modded TWRP
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi...rp-3-1-1-0-t3715084/post74745680#post74745680
How to install:
- Unlock bootloader
- Flash TWRP
- Wipe data, cache and dalvik
- Flash A1 Firmware
- Flash rom zip file
- Reboot
How to update
- Boot into TWRP
- Wipe cache and dalvik/art
- Flash rom zip file
- Reboot
Known issues:
- If you dont flash A1 firmware your fingerprint will acts as a button while unlocked.
- If you don't have Goodix fingerprint variant, fingerprint may not work.
- You tell me.
FAQ:
Q: Can I flash over August patch without wiping data?
A: Yes, you can. However WiFi may not work. If that's your case try restoring network settings. (Settings -> More -> Restore network settings). If WiFi still doesnt work, you'll need to wipe data.
Q: Can I update via OTA?
A: No, you can't. You'll need to wait until I port the update.
Q: Does this ROM come pre-rooted
A: No, it's the A1 stock rom which doesn't come rooted. If you want root, flash Magisk through TWRP
Q: Can I install Xposed?
A: Yes, you can. Just make sure you download xposed for SDK 25.
Q: Will this rom unlock 4G 800MHz band (B20)?
A: No, it won't unlock it. Mi A1 uses a different modem which supports it. Mi 5X modem doesn't.
Q: Do I need to unlock my bootloader?
A: Yes, you need to unlock the bootloader before you can install any custom ROM.
Q: How can I unlock my bootloader?
A: Apply for permissions on http://en.miui.com/unlock/ then download the tool and follow the steps.
Q: Where can I download TWRP?
A: You can download it from here

As stated on FAQs, you cant update via OTA, as this OTAs are made for an A/B device, and Mi 5X doesnt support A/B.

Thank yoouuu! After waiting so long to unlock my bootloader I finally made it and flashed your rom right away. And it's working as a charm. I'm so happy I got rid of Miui 8 Chinese version and it's many bugs and problems (and occasional Chinese language notification I got no idea what it was saying). MiUi was cute and nice on a few parts, but it just seemed like an unfinished piece of software on many points (super aggressive ram management, brightness slider problem, crazily complex settings menu -especially the applications permissions one divided in three sections-).
This rom works just flawlessly for now, and I had no issue with the fingerprint reader acting as a button on my side. It's really great to see some functions works like fingerprint swipe for notifications or lock-screen notifications. Oh ! And I can finally make the google assistant and feed works out of the box without complex tweaks
Camera is still ****ty though (especially coming from a nexus 5x) but, hey, it's a 200€ phone.
Do you have a paypal donate account so I can offer you a beer and encourage you to port the next android updates ?
As we all know all these 3 devices (Note 4x, MIA1 and MI5x) have the se chipsets
Is it possible to port it also on note 4x?

You can make camera a little better by downloading the Google Camera modded with HDR+ and adding these two lines to build.prop:
Code:
persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1
persist.camera.eis.enable=1
However, you will lose HDR support on native camera.
If you want to donate me you can do so on paypal.me/aex12
Thank you, donations are very appreciated!

Edit: Can't PM you
Did you port the MIA1 rom.on 5x or did you build it on source?
I wonder what porting software did you use as android kitchen is not working on newer roms now
Edit2: do you have google+ or anything? To PM you?
After a few hours I noticed that unlocking with fingerprint has become very slow again. Something like 3 seconds.

Flashed, all fine on my op5t and oos
So dont need to Format Data or Anything. Right ?
I am a bit confused with the 2 versions. Lets say I am running decrypted and want to switch to an encrypted 8.1 ROM. Would I: flash the 8.0 TWRP, flash OOS OB1, boot it to enable decryption, flash the 8.1 rom, then flash the 8.1 recovery?

If you're NOT encrypted then it doesn't matter what you're doing.
But when you plan to run 8.1 you should use the 8.1 recovery.

From 8.0 to 8.1? That might fail hard without formating data.
But give it a try and report back.

All this encryption stuff is over my head, so sorry if I'm not fully understanding. But to encrypt you have to flash OOS which is 8.0 right? then when you change to an 8.1 AOSP/CAF rom and keep the device encrypted you would also change recoveries?
Edit: or can you enable encryption on an 8.1 AOSP rom without flashing OOS first?

You can always enable encryption but twrp might not be able to access userdata when using the wrong twrp.
Nothing bad will happen.
If you plan to go from encrypted 8.0 to 8.1 then make sure to remove pin or password before upgrading.

I once went back from OmniROM 8.1 to stock OOS OB1 using a nandroid backup, and since then I couldn't decrypt data in TWRP anymore, it just works if I turn off all security measures in system, which is kind of sickening after a while. The console log even tells me that I might have to format userdata, is that the only way of solving it?

Did you switch recoveries? You are switching ROMs from 8.1 to 8.0 so it would make sense to switch recoveries too.

Just tested both, doesn't seem to work, unfornately. Still tells me that I probably have to format data.
I used a pattern and PIN, none of those work. Seems like a format data is inevitable...

[AOSP 9.0] [Experimental] Android 9.0 GSI

WARNING: You'll most probably loose ALL your data, and might break your phone. Please use with extreme caution!
The goal of this ROM is to provide full Treble-compatible hardware support, and nothing else.
This means that hardware which DON'T have Treble API won't be supported, like Essential's external camera.
No feature will be added. This will ease forward porting to new Android versions, which is the very goal of Project Treble
My hope is that other ROM developers will use this ROM as a basis to construct more advanced ROM.
For a list of treble supported devices, consult and fill https://github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/wiki
How to flash:
1- Flash a treble rom (GSI only has 8.1 vndk. 8.0 probably won't work.)
2- Extract p-gsi-built.zip and flash system.img
3- Flash p-boot-other-fixes.zip, wifi fix, POST-sGSI_boot-patch.zip (thanks to erfanoabdi bootpatcher from p semi-gsi)
4- Reboot
Bugs:
- Camera
- Flashlight
-VoLTE
(Tested on Redmi Note 4 and Redmi 4A, bugs can change according to device.)
Download:

"Bayram Kılıç and Burak Mete Erdoğan the guys who says pixel stock and aosp is totally same. These 2 guys said to me 'Idiot released same rom. Unnecessary'. LOL. From their mouths; 'Pixel stock is started being AOSP. Pixel Team will release AOSP stock rom for pixel devices. It is pretty smooth. And said Pixel Team would give P immediately if AOSP wasn't problematic they fixed it.' Pixel's UI isn't AOSP UI lol "

DId you make sure you installed Mokee & the no-verity zips so your storage is unencrypted? GSIs won't boot with encrypted storage. Also make sure you factory reset in TWRP before you attempt to boot so your data folder is all fresh and clean.
Can someone share some screenshots?

So, I recently downloaded this Lineage os 18 Andy Yan’s builds // GSI [lineage-18.1 treble_arm64_bvSrom] for my Redmi 9. The only two problem I encounter where with the no audio on calls and auto brightness. I was able to fix the camera issues installing gcam 8.1 and following this guide. The rom was great besides the small issues.
Maybe someone can try it and see if they can fix the problems.

I know how to use fastboot in linux, to flash the rom i would need miflash which is compatible with windows only
Yes i could flash all of images in the zip file manually, which would have the same effect, but i really dont want to spend my day doing that.

I am using it, it's way smoother than any custom ROM and stable too.
Battery backup is way better than MiUI, but I got more SOT when I was in PPUI.
PPUI lagged on mine too, the older OSS builds of custom ROMs don't have zram enabled, maybe that's why it lagged so much.
Mindthegapps was suggested by the developer and I'm using that.
Others have tried Nickgapps core too, but I'm not so sure about microgapps.

First of all thank you for your help @Blindsword6
So this one has zram enabled?
Is the new lineage Oss or non-oss?
Any other issues? Brightness etc? Call volume in ppui was very low I had hard time listening to call outdoors, I live in a huge crowded urban city in commercial area, is it better, I mean a little loud or better yet like Miui?
And other than lag, did you ran into app crashes?
I want android 11, but as a daily driver.
Btw if I flash micro g, and unfortunately, don't get it work, I can simple reflash lineage with gapps, right? Or are there any more complicated things involved?

The new lineage is OSS version.
I'm talking about this one.
link : https://t.me/HelioG85_Updates/157
Everything works as is.
The sound is quite loud too, probably same as MiUi.
Nah, I didn't face any app crashes.
It's stable.
I have been using this since it came out.
You can just reflash it with gapps,
and, I think, it's better to flash the gapps after the initial boot.
So you're saying I should boot up phone set it up then again go to recovery and flash apps, right?

Question Custom ROM for Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro??

Glad to have been here, I'm so exciting about my new Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 5G coming for next week so, how about custom ROM we'll see next update? Pixel Experience? or OneOS?
comment below about you guys think about.
I had been already got xiaomi pad 5 pro 5g version
This time, xiaomi restricted dailer apk couldn't run directly.
Also limited couldn't make the apk shortcut by manual.
Even more, xiaomi limited manual install any higher/lower version dialer apk.
So even root first, and flash Magisk voenabler plug-in zip.
This Tablet still couldn't make the volte call
So without contacter and dialer apk function,so far i couldn't breakthrough limited volte function.
If anyone can, please feel free to let anybody know how to do.
Thanks anyway
+1 Have had my MiPad 5 Pro (without 5G) for 3 days. hope it starts soon with a Eu or other version here at XDA

All that can be tried at such an early stage of the device's life is universal GSI ROMs at your own risk. If I'm not mistaken, it won't even require a custom recovery, but the result is unpredictable: from full functionality to soft brick.

Wish I saw this earlier. It's buried on the second page I didn't see. Would have saved me making a thread. I was going to try the Xiaomi contacts and dailer APKS but no point. I also found a very obscure YouTube video from Vietnam I guess trying to use Pad 5 pro 5G to send SMS messages to no avail.
Same issue here I'm using Verizon on LTE
