[GUIDE][MOD]ENABLE NATIVE VIDEO CALLING, WiFi CALLING IN STOCK ROM - Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 Themes, Apps, and Mods

Code:
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed.
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.

Our Zenfone max pro m1 supports Native Video Calling.. but sadly asus disabled it after 337 update...
So after some research i figured out, we can get it back by flashing old 334 modem..
So i made a zip with old modem and all the required props..
Link:- https://drive.google.com/uc?id=1xZiMATRVcn2og9HwFp5NVU0PlJ8zZqHo&export=download
Steps:- Just flash it via recovery and you are done.
Note:- Currently it works only on stock rom, tried this on havoc and msm extended and it did not worked properly..

Thanks man
I'm on having currently I'll try it out as soon as I'm back on stock

Detail steps
Hi.
I am not tech savvy. Can you please give detailed steps to flash this file? I don't have TWRP, my phone is untouched from factory with just regular OTA updates. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the quick reply. So to be clear I need TWRP as well as root access to flash the old modem? Can it be flashed with TWRP without rooting? I am worried that if i root i will mess up the phone.

Actually Flashing Twrp is enough, but this patch edits some system files as well, so normal ota won't work, you need to flash new update from here ,everytime there is a new update..

There's no point to unlock bootloader and flash twrp just for native video calling, unlocking bootloader voids warranty. Use Google duo for video calls its that simple.

Bro, unofficial bootloader unlock doesn't voids warranty.
And nobody ask you to unlock ur bootloader. It's ur phone do whatever you like.
But we have the freedom to install a pie rom from the database of many custom roms like Havoc, Xtended, Pixel Experience, AOSP Extended, etc. Which are very very stable and far better and featuristic than stock rom.
Also, some process requires to unlock the bootloader, if you don't want than it's your choice,
Again, It's ur phone do whatever you like.

I didn't tell anyone to unlock or not unlock their phone I just expressed my opinion. If xda as a community can't accept opinions then it's not a community.

I don't like to use Duo or any other video calling apps.
The reason being: I have felt that native video calling on Jio network used maybe the dedicated VOLTE bandwidth for video and audio and my calls were crtstal clear (or didn't connect at all).
On the other hand apps like Duo used my data allocation and my video quality will flactuate. Duo will not drop call but keep on showing blurred image and broken voice making it frustating.
Overall it's sad that Asus had to break something which was working fine.

Hi Poison-Fang,
Wanted to check on one thing. Just thinking out loud here. Is it possible to flash the modem of ZB602KL variant to enable carrier aggregation and wi-fi calling?

for carrier aggregation try this and report back, as far as wifi calling is concerned, after flashing this mod options are there, i can't confirm if its working though, because jio hasn't widely rolled out wifi calling yet...

I do have a P2 and can confirm that it does not work other than showing 4G+ on the status bar. Hence thought of the modem file flashing possibility.

Ok, you can try flashing that modem, idk if that will enable 4G+ though... Just backup your current modem via twrp.

Thank you man for this!

Indian Bootloader

Has anyone managed to unlock their bootloader on Global stable rom that your phone shipped with?
I'm specifically asking Indians. And of course I'm asking about Snapdragon variant which ships here.
If it didnt unlock on Global stable, what did you do next?
Also please don't post about the unofficial hack method. I'm well aware about that. I want to know about official method.
I also have the same query, please anyone give a proper answer.

Tried it and it went through
Maybe it is due to slow syncing with chinese server

I managed to unlock bootloader on Global 7.2.3.0 ROM.
I faced the 'stuck at 50%' problem too. It didn't work for me on Dev nor Global ROM. The Mi unlock tool said it couldn't verify accounts.
But after waiting for about a week I tried again and it worked!
Apparently Xiaomi's unlock process has some bugs and the accounts fail to verify properly. You have to give it time to sync.
Also in developer settings make sure to enable OEM unlocking. The Dev ROM has this enabled by default so maybe that's why more people had success with it (and maybe why people were reporting that unlocking on Global doesn't work).

Warranty after root/unlock ?

Hi guys, quick question here.
I have bought a Redmi Note 4 , 32gb/3gb Snapdragon one.
I have these questions.
How is warranty affected after rooting our device ?
How is warranty affected by uunlocking the bootloader ?
What features won't work after unlocking the bootloader ?
What to keep in mind, to avoid problms in future , would xiaomi service centres be of any help ?
Thank you. Please answer separately for each question.
Xiaomi just like onePlus supports rooting....
So don't worry...
You can always get back your warranty by Just flashing the global stable ROM...
Also all the features will work after unlocking bootloader...
Do remember that it's you who is willing to make the changes and I'm not responsible if anything goes wrong...
Avoid rooting if you don't have adequate knowledge...

1) You void your warranty on rooting your device
2) Unlocking the bootloader itself doesn't void your warranty.. but the Mi Unlock tool clearly states whatever happens after the bootloader unlock (custom ROM install and stuff) is your responsibility.. so if something happens during those processes, the warranty is void..
3) according to xiaomi, things like Encryption and find my device won't properly work..
4) flash original fastboot rom and relock the bootloader if you want to take the thing to service center.. the only situation where your warranty truly is void is if you manage to brick it beyond repair, which is almost impossible to do.. (you can make a xiaomi deep flash cable (google it) to fix the device even when you can't directly boot into fastboot mode)
P.S. - i haven't done the deep flash stuff.. just posting what I learnt on the internet
---------- Post added at 07:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:44 PM ----------
As long as the technicians get the phone running unrooted stock MIUI, they won't complain..

Nothing to worry, just do eet!
I remember the case when i bricked my galaxy S1 back in those years 2 times and I took it to the service center in india which was almost a kilometre from my house and i told the guy that it got bricked when i was charging it.. He replaced the motherboard and gave me both the times.. And told me that I probably had a loose connection at home ?.. I told him I'll get it fixed.. Thats the only device i ever bricked and that too because it was the first device i was trying to mod.. Its really tough to brick the newer devices.. But i dont know if the trick i used still works with the service centres today..

You can just browsing in Redmi Note 4 xda section for the tutorial.
1. Unlock bootloader (the most annoying part)
2. Install Twrp via fastboot
3. Flash Rom & Magisk or anything you prefer.
4. Done, that's it...
For miui i do not backup anything since brand new n nothing to backup and dont worry about warranty. You can restore back to original version by flashing stock rom from xiaomi then you can claim for warranty with no issue, i have done it before.

[Q] Flashing Pixel ROM Redmi note 3

2) If yes, then do I need a beta version of MIUI for unlocking my bootloader cause I have been trying since a very long time but it is stuck at 50%(I tried all the solutions).
Thanks a lot in advance
1. U have to unlock ur bootloader for flashing custom recovery .
2. it should be unlocked on any version but dev versions have more chance of unlocking than stable ones (especially china rom,s have high probability )
3 U can try unofficial bootloader unlocking but do it on ur own risk as it can hard brick ur device .

Wait for a few days or couple of weeks, that helped in my case. Update and try syncing your Mi account on your phone.
Follow the instructions here
http://en.miui.com/unlock/
If nothing works, follow this guide, just flash any ROM of your choice with TWRP.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/kate-guide-install-lineage-os-locked-t3546154
And if you want the Pixel experience, install PureNexus ROM, it is better.
Just flash lineageos with stock gapps. And then flash my universal pixelmod. It will give you full pixel experience. Nav bar not included yet. Will include it in future.

Dear All,
I refer to this below thread for a bit of history;

After the success of flashing the stock rom and relocking the bootloader I tried to launch the camera but i keep getting the above message!
FYI I didn't have my TA partition backed up as well as the DRM keys thing-ies.
Any idea of what could be causing this?

I couldn't find the error message your taking about. Briefly read what u said and understood some. So youunlocked bootloader, installed custom recovery and a rom, and manged to flash to official firmware and are having problems with the camera.
As someone mentioned in that other thread you gave, when you block bootloader l, you lose the TA part ions which contains DRM, which can help camera to work as Sony wants it. The lost TA is lost likely causing issues., thus I recommend rooting to do man which have fixes for the lost DRM (not a replacement for the list ones) , so your camera will function correctly again. Be u seen you never made aback up of the TA, you've permanently lost them, even after relocking the bootloader.
P. S. I'm sure someone mentioned a similar thing to you no in the other thread.
Hope I helped u in some way.
Hey man,
Thanks for the thorough reply. So you think I have no hope of getting the camera to work while maintaining the stock firmware with locked bootloader?

That right, I think you dont have any reason to come back to stock firmware when you lost DRM key, because some rom have DRM fix like poision rom and pexorom. In addition, I am using posion rom which is really stable and fixed all your problem.

That right, I think you dont have any reason to come back to stock firmware when you lost DRM key, because some rom have DRM fix like poision rom and pexorom. In addition, I am using posion rom which is really stable and fixed all your problem.

Yea makes sense but I was just hoping to go back to being able to receive ota updates. Plus if i ever decide to sell the phone, i'm gonna have to slice a chunk of its price

Just unlock your bootloader again and camera will start working. Use FlashTool by Androxyde and Xpirifirm to update your phone when when new firmware is release.

I thought the TWRP version you linked is not working properly. Are you saying that it works, now?
That TWRP won't work on some models, I have flashed it on my xt1710-09 and it got stuck on the initial TWRP boot logo.
Good evening. What is the root and hotspot status if you don't mind me asking? I'm thinking of picking up this phone tomorrow

afaik, they're all rootable except the verizon variant...
hotspot...? if you mean, using your data network as a wifi hotspot - unless there's some kind of issue hosting a wifi network while rooted, this device does let you host.

If you buy the phone directly from Motorola/Lenovo, you can put a Verison SIM in and then you can also unlock the bootloader. Takes longer but if you really want to unlock it, this would be the only way I know.

Hello, I have unlock my Moto Z2 play successfully.
I installed TWRP 3.1.1.0 as specified. However, it gets stocked on the Teamwin blue screen and can't do anything from there than reboot.
Any idea how to solve this problem. Thanks a lot

Sorry guys, I'm thinking about buying this phone with a carrier, so I will have 30 months of warranty covering everything. If I unlock the bootloader and flash the recovery I will lose it. Does anyone know how to find the factory image or backup the stock system (recovery and everything) to restore it to stock in case of problems? Thanks in advance
I have the XT1710-10 Dual SIM variant of the Moto Z2 Play, what should i do to succesfully root the phone. Can somebody guide me in detail ?
and i am not clear about this 32 bit and 64 bit twrp

Which way? What error?... You must go to Motorola's unlock bootloader page (@pizza_pablo kindly shared the link for you already) and >precisely< follow instructions. You can also search for "unlock bootloader Motorola" here or in YouTube. There's aplenty of video tutorials, plus every single Moto device since Moto G requires the very same procedure, so you can follow any. Good luck and don't cry; you'll notice that unlocking is the easiest part.
One more thing: I strongly suggest you to research as much as you can about the subject >first< (it clearly looks like the first time for you) especially on Moto Z2 Play rooting and very especially on Oreo rooting. There's a bit of confusion there.

So, can we use 64 bit TWRP on 32 bit OS?

Yerah...Verizon phones are always locked down, unless you have a Pixel. That's precisely why I dropped them like a bad habit. Well, that AND the fact that they are the most expensive cell provider out there.
