Hello,
I have NIKAI TV with android 4.4.2 when I opened the android settings I found an option for SAMBA service
it is really excellent and stable used it for 2 years
unfortunately I had to use android box now because the TV installed android OS can't be upgraded but I want extract the SAMBA service app from the TV and install it on the android box
I manged to browse /system/app folder via FTP which contain .odex and .apk files but I can't find the app
I know there is samba app out there but I want this one how I can get that any help

Does anyone know the apk for the file manager that comes with Archos 101 Gen8 ? I like the UPNP/Network browser on where I can stream videos from my shared drives on the network. Is it possible to get that for other Android devices on the market? I've tried ES File explorer, Astro, etc. nothing is as good as the one from archos.

The file manager is useless on other devices for the purpose you want it.
The upnp browsing is done with djmount and not the file manager.
is there a DJmount type filemanager in the market?

I doubt it because djmount is a linux type program that maps upnp remote dirs to local dirs.

I use this tiny app to access files,music, movies etc on my Qnap NAS
It's sad this useful network app went missing in urukdroid fw.
I doubt it's gonna work on other device but here it is.

I used my phone explorer in Windows for a long time, it was great, now I switched to Mac os and I miss the app very much.
is there a version for mac or any other alternativ that can be used over wifi .. (apps like Airdroid needs the browser open all the time)

I'm looking for an app that will allow me to remotely access WHS (windows home server) and allow me to manipulate files and folders. I know I can access my shares from ES File Explorer and I use that to copy files to and from my Android devices, but there are times I want to move/copy files from folder A to folder B on the WHS. The job needs to happen on the server and not on my android device, similar to the way utorrent remote apps work such as torrent fu and TorrentToise.
Is there an app that exist like this for android?
These are simple SMB shares (samba)
I have problem related on internet connection in Android x-86 version 5.1 (Lollipop) and version 4.4 (Kitkat). I run that android emulators on VM-ware.
I use android-x86-4.4-r5.iso for Kitkat and android-x86-5.1-rc.iso for Lollipop.
I have internet connectivity and I can use web browser for both android emulators, but I cannot download the APK files.
The status of the APK files at Download Folder always show Queued status and I waited for so long but there was no any APK file at that folder (Download folder), or there is no any response.
Please help me out. Thanks in advance.

i have this simple configuration.
Philips Andoird TV PUS6501 (Android 5) + External HDD
PC (Windows 10)
What i want is to copy files from my PC to the HDD wich is connected to the TV.
I heard this was possible with Android KitKat but since Android Lollipop the function is gone.
I heard what i want is possible if i get root and set up a Samba Server (wtf never done something like that before)
I heard root is possible but only temporary (with the dirty cow script) but i didnt find any tutorial for my TV nor did i recive any help in the Philips Android TV Thead.
So what can I do to get write access when the HDD is still connected to the TV?

Share the files on your PC and use X-plore or ES file manager to copy the files from one to the other. Another possibility is using something like Cetus Play on the TV side. It can set up a simple web server that will accept uploaded files.
