In theory you can do it. But.. You need to unlock bootloader and grant root access. The issue i faced though is that it messes the menu. For now you either keep it as it is or you apply a theme with dark menu

hlw xda developers ,
I want to request you all to port samsung's good lock for redmi 2 prime or prepare similar app for redmi 2 prime so that , we can change system ui in our redmi 2 prime .
please make such mod .
also it would be great if this mod would be able to change the notification signals like that of a wifi.
Try some Xposed modules for this, as for the notification icon, there is a similar mod somewhere in our forums, search for it

Just a few questions,
*How are you going to use this "Samsung System UX" if you're not gonna root?
*There are similar mods on the Xposed repo, it's up to you to find them

Since you're on MiUi, your chances of getting a non root notification icon mod is close to none. I'd recommend root since you can easily revert it by flashing a new update or fastbooting a ROM.
Or you could compile a theme using the tools provided by MiUi themselves and change the notification icon yourselves

1. I didn't understand , if I root my Android , make changes and then install global beta rom, then my Android will be unrooted again ?
2. no theme is giving option to hide notification symbol .

You will lose root access and the changes you've made to your system after flashing OTA since the zip file formats system partition and then flashes the new update.
Individual notification icons can be disabled by going to settings - apps - appname- notifications and disabling notification icons

The only way to do that is by rooting your phone (SuperSU preferred), installing Xposed By SolarWarez (Regular version will not install), and finding the necessary modules to tweak MiUi (Usually available on the Xposed repo)
Compile a theme of your own bro. You can put in whatever customization you like.

[Alpha][magisk module]Lockscreen Weather, AOSP Ambient Display for OOS 9.0 PIE

Moderator Information: Thread is closed as per original developer's request.
The mod, made by XDA Senior member @paphonb
Here is video of installation and mod review :
MOD EDIT: YOUTUBE VIDEO REMOVED
Requirements :
1)you must be on OOS 9.0 pie version(don't use any other)
2)magisk installed 17.1 or above
What this mod gives:
1)Lockscreen wheather
2)AOSP Ambient Display
3)AOSP clear all notifications button
4)reduces the lock screen wallpaper scrim.
How to:
Just download and install via magisk.
Reboot
Done.
NOTE:
If the lockscreen weather doesn’t show up at first, add the At a Glance widget from the Google App to your home screen and see if that forces the weather to show. Once it does, you can remove the widget if you want. You also need to make sure that you have location services enabled for your phone. The AOSP Ambient Display only requires you to disable the OxygenOS Ambient Display before enabling the AOSP one. Although this mod adds the Always On Ambient Display function, They don’t recommend you use it because it’s really buggy at the moment.

Sure hopes the dev fixes it soon. Quite annoying
How did you enable weather? Maybe a tutorial could be made on how so we can make our own module once the dev stops updating or for other OnePlus devices once they receive Pie.
How to remove this module without consequences?
very good mode. after uninstall it bricked my phone. needed to unbrick it with msmDownload tool, thanks devs, next time at least try to test the basic stuff before you release mods to public!
doesn't function for me (Pie stabile)
there is somewhere any switch?
How to remove this module without consequences?
It works find most of the time but sometimes it's kinda off.

Is Ambient Display for ASUS Zenfone Max pro M1 possible? (without unlocking bootloade

Is there a possibility of getting Ambient Display for this device like the one found in Lineage OS or the Moto Display one without unlocking the bootloader and flashing zips.
Is there any apk for that, which works flawlessly?
If not, can anyone please create one?
I'm in love with Ambient display. It's such a easy task to look at notifications from above without consumption of much battery.
If needed i'm ready to buy a paid version of such an app.
Any workaround possible like enabling something through adb? ( like in camera2api) or giving permissions for the same?
Please developers just give it a thought.
Thanks

Not I don't think so. adb shell and terminal emulator are different I think.
But can be that you will not need to apply adb shell part if you have notifications after the flash ...
I made so many manipulations on my Poco which I do not know any more if I had or not to apply this command before mod the systemUI ... This part will be can be not necessary ...
