I have a question: If in the future I want to install the rom stock oreo again, the downgrade of the fingerprint will bring a problem? I downgrade fingerprint before or after installing the crdroid? Great work, thank you!

Thanks for reply, i did the procedure and the fingerprint is now working faster than the stock oreo rom!

camecorder fix , requires a clean installation

Excellent, everything working but i noticed an anomaly in battery consumption, more than 4%/h due to wakelock coming from "com.android.nfc", after deleting "/system/app/NfcNci" folder the problem was solved

Is it fully compatible with XT1799-2? Thanks!

Everything seems to work fine on XT1795 but I am not able to find fingerprint authentication in security settings. I had this feature on crDroid Nougat but not in this Oreo?

No. I came from stock Oreo 8.1. I am afraid that I could hard brick my device once again if I downgrade to Nougat. Recently I flashed on older version of bootloader on the Nougat rom and the result was a hard brick.

I am back on Stock 8.1. I was facing severe battery drain issue, slow charging and random network drops when using mobile data on Jio sim card. I have been a long time user of crDroid (nougat based) but never faced any such issues then.

yes you are right.
but i'm wondering if there's a way of changing the sim that is currently 4G, like in stock android .
right now if i want to change the sim that i use as 4g I should physically change their places.
small disadvantage compared to all positive advantages of this Rom.
Now is ok
Hi!
Would it be possible to make rom without it forcing you to install magisk. Some still prefer to use SuperSU and it's simple to flash magisk after rom installation too.

It is possible for ROM maintainer to build unrooted build..
If you don't want to flash magisk automatically with ROM you can delete magisk folder from the ROM zip and flash ROM...

I don't quite understand meaning of the first phrase.
Also thanks for the tip, I realized this too after awhile, but still going to leave the suggestion to remove magisk from rom itself(or mentioning about it in the first post would be helpful @ksrt12).
Everything else in new version feels even nicer than on previous versions.

I do not see the advantages of supersu before magick.
I think that most people on custom use root, and doesn't matter magisk or supersu
and since there are magisk in the RR sources, why not build it
if you don't like magisk you can remove it

I meant that you could make it without root and let people choose themselves how they want to root it, but yeah I realized I can just remove it from zip. And it was just a suggestion.
But suggestion about mentioning in thread that it installs magisk would be good so no one will accidentally install SuperSu. So it won't cause any problems to anyone, since I think you shouldn't have both installed(not sure will it cause problems, but just in case).

FAQ:
Can you add feature XYZ?
No more features for Android 9 based ROMs.
Does this require decrypted ROM?
NO. HW Forced encryption is available. If you want to stay decrypted, you need to flash No Verity v3 everytime after flashing ROM.
What about VoLTE and GPS?
Both works fine.
Is native root added?
Available as separate addon. Once you flash and reboot, activate on below path System > Developer Options > Root mode.
This may break safety net. Flash on your own discretion.

As of now its near stock.
But with time all the crDroid features will be added to this ROM. Just be patient
Because it's Android Pie, all the futures can't be added that fast. That's why it will take a little bit of time to add the features we know from Oreo crDroid.

First time installing crDroid to your Moto G5S Plus, or coming from another ROM:
** Make sure you're running a proper working Recovery (CWM or TWRP)
1) Copy crDroid zip, gapps zip
2) Boot into Recovery
3) Wipe cache, system, & data (or just cache & system for a dirty flash).
4) Flash ROM
5) Flash gapps
6) Boot up
For root, AFTER you boot into the ROM, you can go back to recovery and install Magisk v19.1 (whatever is most recent).
Upgrading from earlier version of crDroid:
The only difference between clean flash as above and upgrading is you just wipe system & cache, leaving data. Everything else is the same. ***Remember to always clean flash before reporting problems. Clean flashing is always the best method of ROM install.

Okay i think i figure it out, first you need twrp treble, and then you can instal magisk. But, you have to reflash the rom and everything after you install the twrp treble. I hope this will fix your problem too.

Should be available now.
Thanks for all your hard work.
I am currently using OOS 10.0.3.GM57BA.
Is this supported (requirement) for your crDroid?
Do I have to flash this version again (twice) before flashing crDroid?

Tested by me over OOS 10.3.0.
10.3.0 and 10.0.3 should not make any critical difference.
If already on OOS 10.x start from formatting data step.

Security patch level is 05.02.2020.
01.08.2019 is only for Google certification.
in both variants:
- from step 1 on
- Step 1 and then continue from step 7
I can boot into TWRP afterwards, but after I install the GApps and want to boot into the system, then I only get the crDroid boot animation.
Apparently a boot loop.
Any ideas?

FIRST OFF I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY BRICKS OR ANY OTHER DISASTERS CAUSED BY YOUR PHONE. EVERYTHING YOU DO IS YOUR OWN RESPONSIBILTY !!!!!!!
Introduction:
ROMs in G8x would not be possible without the help of @SGCMarkus. Thanks again for all your help. SGCMarkus | XDA Forums (xda-developers.com)
This ROM is a continuation of the ROM from the other thread by @Cheese-ass. Details and changes are mentioned below :-
What’s fixed :-
Build is now SELinux enforcing
Adb sideload is fixed in recovery
Touch in recovery is fixed. (Don’t need button combos to get to recovery anymore)
Auto brightness during normal use and AOD has been improved.
Sound of speakers and in-call volume has been increased.
Security Update : 1st Oct 2021
Refer changelog in below posts for changes to new builds.
What’s not working :-
Fingerprint : We have spent many days trying to fix this and it has not worked out. This will not be worked on anymore. So don’t ask for fix. We need good developers for our phones who can fix these things. For those who want to try, you can see what I have done so far here :- https://github.com/enforc/android_device_lge_mh2lm-common/tree/FOD
Dual Display : This too has been worked on many times by many of us. Again will not be fixed for same above reasons.
Volte : Well if you know LG, this will never work.
HDMI through type C cable broken. (27/12/2021)
Instructions :-
Backup all your data.
Format Data in TWRP and flash the ROM.
Format data again and reboot to OS.
Then reboot back to recovery and flash whatever gapps and other zips you want using adb sideload or sdcard.
Use Gcam as all features don’t work in Lineage camera.

If u mean by wireless charging, it works for me. Check if charger is setup properly.
As for flickering, hope u have installed latest 28/11/21 rom.
Also make sure u have a11 or a10 stock rom as base in the slot u are installing lineage os.

If the hardware doesn't have provision for dual sim, then it won't work, whatever OS u put.

Mine is Canadian G8X, not sure if the hardware doesn't have dual sim or the OS simply disabled it.....
