[ROM][G95xF/FD][ALEXNDR] * Pie Beta ZSB9 * DevBase v6.0 * Encryption support [Feb-17] - Samsung Galaxy S8 & S8+ Cross Device Development

I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE AND/OR DATA LOSS AS A RESULT OF FLASHING THIS ROM !!!
PLEASE PERFORM FULL BACKUP IN THE MICRO SD CARD OR IN AN EXTERNAL STORAGE BEFORE YOU TRY !!!
Do you need reliability and predictability? Then better stay with THIS ROM
I have decided to create a separate thread because:
- I would like to distinguish PIE BETA bug reports from my normal (OREO stable) thread, mentioned above
- It is normal that there will be definitely much more "bad reports" here, because most of them will be "beta related"
This thread will be closed when Samsung will release stable Android Pie (One UI)
Everything you will need to know about DevBase ROM in general - you will find in my stable thread (mentioned above)
Differences comparing to stable Oreo DevBase ROM:
- No Xposed (we need to wait for rovo89)
S8 (SM-G950F/FD):

Dirty flash over my Oreo DevBase ROM SHOULD WORK WITHOUT ISSUES but before you try - I would highly recommend you to set default (stock) theme and default (stock) icons !!! However - I would recommend you clean install (Wipe -> Swipe to Factory Reset is enough).
Please REMOVE custom options.prop file if you have any in /sdcard or external sdcard (mainly because of debloat list which causes more issues in Pie).
Known problems:
- [CLEAN INSTALL] Magisk Manager may not appear after clean install despite Magisk has been installed without errors during install - if you notice that there is no Magisk Manager - DO NOT flash Magisk, it is enough to install Magisk Manager as normall app - use ATTACHMENT (it is original apk from Magisk v18.1) and then reboot device (important!!!)
- OEM unlock toggle seems to be disabled in the Developer Options but it is not true (otherwise you would not be able to use TWRP and this ROM). It is side effect of protection I put in the kernel against "KG State: Prenormal" in the DM mode. It is not real issue, just ignore it. EDIT: starting from ZSAC - OEM unlock toggle has been HIDDEN to avoid further confusion! Don't worry about that

Am I assuming right that we can dirty flash the 'fixed' ROM?
Apart from that, I have another request: Could you maybe include a script into your ROMs that when I dirty flash it detects what apps I deleted from system and not restore them?

Yes, you can dirty flash fixed rom over previous
About your request - there is the solution already included in the ROM - just extract options.prop form ROM's zip, then edit it according to your needs (add your favorite removal list to physical debloat section), then place your custom options.prop file in the root directory of /sdcard (or in external SD card if your data are encrypted). When installer will find a custom options.prop in one of mentioned locations (/sdcard or external microSD card) - it will use YOUR file instead of default file (included in ZIP)

I thought it is enough to explain it in post #1 but seems like it isn't
OEM unlock toggle will be hidden in the next release for G955F to avoid confusion (it is done already in just uploaded DevBase for G950F). Of course, it can be easy un-hidden in any time, but for what? To see it seemingly disabled? (it just displays wrong state)

Simple, Stable, Smooth...
I am not a developer, I have learnt (and am still learning) many things from the immensely talented developers on this Forum.
This Rom has been created with the thought that there are many people who wish to continue with Samsung Stock Rom to give them a hassle-free use of their Smartphone, yet they need their Rom to be bloatfree, efficient and Smooth.
This ROM is rooted and deodexed for my daily use. Will try to keep the version updated as and when a new stock firmware (with higher/better changelog) is released for the Galaxy S5 (G900H) version.
Please do not expect me to customise this ROM any more than what it is. As I said I am not a Developer. Thanks for Understanding.
Only for G900H (Exonys Variant)

BOOTLOADER/MODEM Package
Already included in the rom folder
Install Instructions:
" Source/credits: @edgarf28 "
For the latest version, would suggest you flash rom first(if you are already on Lollipop) via recovery. Flash Bootloader and Modem via odin after flashing the rom.
This procedure can be done anytime and it won't wipe anything from your device! Your current ROM, Kernel & Recovery will remain the same after you flash this.
Do exactly as mentioned:
- Make sure you have downloaded the correct packages
- Switch off your phone completely (This is IMPORTANT)
- Wait for 30 seconds
- Start your Phone in download mode: Press Vol down + Home + Power buttons till the screen turns on, press Vol Up to continue (Only enter download mode on this way, otherwise it won't work!!)
- Connect your phone to your computer
- Open Odin 3.09 on your PC (Older versions won't work correctly!)
- Click on the 'BL' button, and load in your BOOTLOADER tar.md5 file
- Click on the 'CP' button, and load in your MODEM tar.md5 file
- DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING ELSE (you can brick your phone if you choose other settings in Odin)
- Click on the Start button
- Wait till it finish flashing.
- Your phone reboots automatically after flashing.
- Always check after flashing: Settings -> About device -> Baseband; that should show you the same modem build number noted as here.
And also check if the bootloader got flashed correctly by downloading an AndroidTerminal app, and enter this command: getprop ro.boot.bootloader
NOTE: Sometimes the modem/baseband needs to be flashed 2 or even 3 times till it will get flashed correctly.

I have not faced any root issue on the Selinux enforced mode. Device with knox security do face problem changing to Permissive. Am not qualified to try it too.
I was also using the rom you mentioned and he has done a wonderful job. Edgar's rom is bare bones with add on package. I feel the basic features that Samsung has given should be there and hence have removed only the absolute unnecessary files. Try it and let me know your views. No offence taken at all[emoji6]

Are you coming from NG3 to flash this rom. If not, please flash the Ng3 bootloader first using ODIN and then flash the zip (will add a note in OP). I have tested the installation process many times before uploading. Had no issues.

Have not done any tweaking for battery but will definitely have better battery than stock I guess (let me know). Have only added the ad block feature. Cannot add features like alliance and Omega due to limited knowledge and also lack of time from work and personal life. [ROM][N6][NRD90U] Useless Nougat

I just can't wait for Google to upload an official Nougat image for our beloved Shamu, so I compiled this from the source.
V4 Flashable ZIP: https://mega.nz/#!qkpBHQwY!9fWIu36NCDtP4NXnTnWE_FblWlk9vrwNtDE13eJbocA
Obligatory screenshots: https://imgur.com/a/cXrnH
Working
As Shamu is a supported device, most things work well here:
Booting
Cellular (Calling, SMS and data)
Audio
Wi-Fi
Bluetooth
GApps (see below)
Easter egg
Not working (?)
Not working on Verizon, as reported here
There are probably more
GApps
This build has dm-verity enabled. With the stock kernel, GApps will not show up, or a warning is displayed when booting. To solve this, either use a custom kernel or use FED-Patcher.
After installing OpenGApps, you may encounter force closes during the Setup Wizard.
replica102 said:
You can just skip setup without editing the build.prop. Just tap on the four corners of the screen, starting from top left, clockwise. Do it right, and you'll get sent to home screen.
Click to collapse
Afterwards, to get rid of the Play Services force closes, go to Settings > Apps > Three dot menu > Show system and find Google Play Services. Enter the Permissions menu and grant all the permission it needs.
If apps requiring WebView force close, try excluding "WebviewGoogle" using the gapps-config config file. Details are available here.

And as said, I haven't changed the source in any way. Kernel source is available at https://android.googlesource.com/device/moto/shamu-kernel/+/android-7.0.0_r1
Edit: Wow, didn't look too closely. That's the prebuilt kernel, and the corresponding source hasn't been uploaded yet.

Just curious why you're calling it "useless"?
Have you tested it at all, and if so, what works and what doesn't work?
Iirc, at the very minimum, you need to symlink vendor to system to get cellular connectivity working.
*edit*
Here is more info regarding the need for symlinking:

Thank you. Cellular connectivity is working, and the vendor blobs are present in the build. The exclamation mark on the screenshots are due to Google servers being blocked in China (which you can fix by changing the captive_portal_server global setting, in case if you are in the affected regions).
The reason I call it "useless" is that Google will likely get the official images out very soon, and this build will quickly become obsolete.
I will update the original post to include the test results.
Noob Question:
Where can I get the GApps file for this build?
Thanks!

OxygenOS 3.5.5 (MM) OTA for OnePlus 2

Oneplus team has finally announced OxygenOS 3.5.5 (MM) OTA for OnePlus 2
Do not use the downgrade tool provided in the quote below, it is unstable and it destroys IMEI 2.
They are working on this bug.
Flashed OS 3.5.5 directly on H2OS 2.5 Beta by twrp recovery.
Everything works till now. i will report back soon.
Update 1 : Frequent network drops on both the sims.
Tony L. said:
We are starting the incremental roll-out of OxygenOS 3.5.5 for the OnePlus 2. Here are the changes for this build.
Here are some highlights:
Enabled VoLTE functionality for select carriers
Added App Lock
Added Battery Saving Mode ( Settings > Battery > More )
Added Gaming Mode ( Settings > Developer Options )
Added Additional Options for the Alert Slider.
Redesign of the Volume Adjustment Bar
Shelf Optimizations
Updated OxygenOS UI
Updated Interface and UI of the Clock app
Updated Android Security Patch Level to 1/12/16
Increased System Stability
General Bug Fixes
Important:
Clock, Calculator and Messages will be REPLACED by stock OnePlus apps if you have never updated the corresponding Google apps. But you can download these apps from Google in the Play Store even after the replacement.
Many of the phone settings will be restored to default after upgrading to 3.5.5, for instance device name, ring tones, accent colours and status bar battery indication will all be reverted to default settings.
After updating to 3.5.5, basic functions like WiFi connectivity, Network and Fingerprint might be affected if users flash back to 3.1.0. Users will have to use a special 3.1.0 downgrading version and flashing tool that will wipe all data from the phone. You should backup if you want to revert to older versions from 3.5.5 without losing data.
For those who were on previous versions for the OnePlus 2, we appreciate your active feedback and attempts to reach out to us. With your help, we have been able to better optimize and improve several key areas. Thank you for your patience and as always, we look forward to hearing your continued feedback in the bug reporting forum here: https://forums.oneplus.net/feedback/.
As this update will move you to the new Oxygen UI, please follow the link below for the UI/UX experience survey. We’d really appreciate a few minutes of your time, as it will help us make OxygenOS even better.
- Feedback on UI/UX: https://goo.gl/forms/EOd2tSdFJI2N6xfD3
As always, this OTA will be incremental. The OTA will reach a small percentage of users today, and we'll begin a broader rollout in a few days.
Your feedback is appreciated. We may not always be able to respond to every comment in the forums, but please be assured that we take your comments and feedback seriously. Hope you enjoy!
Never Settle.

Guys, twrp and root are gone after updating, any guides on how to root after update?

[ROM][N950F/DS][ALEXNDR] * Pie Beta ZSB2 * DevBase v6.0 * Encryption support [Feb-12]

Note 8 (SM-N950F/DS):
>> N950FXXU2ZSB2_DevBase_v6.0.zip << (MEGA)
>> N950FXXU2ZSB2_DevBase_v6.0.zip << (AFH)

Dirty flash over my Oreo DevBase ROM SHOULD WORK WITHOUT ISSUES but before you try - I would highly recommend you to set default (stock) theme and default (stock) icons !!! However - I would recommend you clean install (Wipe -> Swipe to Factory Reset is enough).
Please REMOVE custom options.prop file if you have any in /sdcard or external sdcard (mainly because of debloat list which causes more issues in Pie).
Known problems:
- [CLEAN INSTALL] Magisk Manager may not appear after clean install despite Magisk has been installed without errors during install - if you notice that there is no Magisk Manager - DO NOT flash Magisk, it is enough to install Magisk Manager as normal app (use ATTACHMENT - it is original apk from Magisk v18.1), then REBOOT device (important!)
- OEM unlock toggle seems to be disabled in the Developer Options but it is not true (otherwise you would not be able to use TWRP and this ROM). It is side effect of protection I put in the kernel against "KG State: Prenormal" in the DM mode. It is not real issue, just ignore it. EDIT: starting from ZSAB - OEM unlock toggle has been HIDDEN to avoid further confusion! Don't worry about that
SafetyNet PASS in this ROM

This ROM flashes Magisk v17.3 in case of clean install or v18.0 in case of dirty flash - it is because known problem with sudden reboot at the end of setup wizard with v18.0 and clean install. So my recommendation is - DO NOT update Magisk until you pass setup wizard.
So... that only means that you performed clean flash When you finish initial setup - just install attached magisk.apk, then update via Magisk Manager. Next time (dirty update) it will install v18.0
I have another problem, OEM Toggle is off and I get this message after each reboot.

Have you read post #1 (known problems) ?? Just ignore that it is off position (it is not true, it just reads real state wrong due to strong RMM/KG state protection I put in the kernel). Every time you will try to enable it - it will force you to wipe data, nothing more - will stay in off position (only visually)
Sorry, According to the message, says there is a problem with the device, I should contact the Manufacturer

Nothing wrong with your device, really It is side effect of changed "ro.build.fingerprint" in build.prop to pass SafetyNet (thanks to @corsicanu for the hint & tests)
If it is really annoying to you - you can restore original line in build.prop, as follow:
Code:
ro.build.fingerprint=samsung/greatltexx/greatlte:9/PPR1.180610.011/N950FXXU5ZSA5:user/release-keys
... but then SafetyNet will fail and most of banking apps + GooglePay + some other apps that check SafetyNet - will not work anymore

nice explanation! And from the other side: what value should have ro.build.fingerprint to pass safetyNet?
Do I get it right that there's no publicly available Pie kernel sources, and thus there's absolutely no way to get SELinux permissive until the official release?

[ROM][G988U/U1/W]SamPWND.R.Official 1CTKH

Hello!
Please forgive me as it's been a long time since I made/posted a stock based ROM as I have been mainly doing security research and dealing more with source code last few years.
Most seasoned Samsung users on here probably already know me and work that I have done so I won't waste time posting any "about me" stuff.
DISCLAIMER:
This ROM is still WIP (although fully functional) and based on Android R Beta 1ZTJG for G988U/U1/W. An unlocked BL is required to flash this ROM! This ROM contains bootloader files specific to U/U1/W so likely will NOT WORK on hk/china/exynos/any other models that are not U/U1/W so don't ask. If you do decide to flash it and try it out and if your device blows up then that is your own fault.
Features:
- Based on Stock R Official Build aka 1CTKH.
- This is a full ODIN flashable tar (got tired of messing with update zips.)
- Disabled vbmeta
- Pretty heavily debloated
- Deknoxed
- Removed pesky recovery-from-boot.p which could cause boot loops.
- Currently only has SPR csc mods (will mod others in next build)
*Native call recording
*App Lock (forgot to push the app though so will fix in next build)
*Few others.. will post more specifics and give creds since I used the csc mod for exynos as a basis..
- Probably forgetting something but thhis is an initial build so will add more as time goes..
Instructions:
- Backup your data if you must since this will wipe device!
- Put phone in dl mode and extract zip to pc somewhere.
- Open ODIN and in AP slot navigate to SamPWND.R.Official-G988U.tar and flash it.
- Device will reboot into stock CTKH recovery where you will wipe data and reboot.
- Set up device and win?
Root Steps (optional):
Note: Custom kernels can be used since source code for R is released.
EDIT: There is now a working recovery which will be available in post 2.
- After you have flashed rom and everything is set up reboot back into DL mode.
- Open included ODIN and in AP slot navigate to the 1BTHD_BL_and_Recovery_For_Root.tar. Make sure auto reboot is NOT selected. Flash it.
- Once thats flashed hold vol down and power until screen turns off then immediately hold vol up and power until LOS recovery loads.
- However you want to flash magisk (I included Magisk.v21.0.zip) flash it.
* I do adb push magisk.zip /... Then select Install Update then install from root and select magisk zip...
- Reboot back into DL mode.
- In ODIN, select AP slot then navigate to 1ZTJG_BL_and_Recovery.tar and flash it.
- Device will boot back into ROM and you will now be rooted!
***TWRP RECOVERY***
- Download listed below
- I suggest you follow all the steps above and make sure it's up and running before installing TWRP.
- Basically extract the twrp download below, create it into a .tar file using 7zip or something and flash it in ODIN.
- adb works
- file manager and other tools work
- If follow above steps first as recommended, data will be decrypted.
- mounts work
- flashing works
- backup/restore works
- no issues found so far?
Steps are really quite simple if you have ever used ODIN.
