Which GApps are included, pico or nano?
Will obviously find out as soon as I install it, but I think I, as well as others, would like to know that in advance.
Will be trying it out for a couple of days, and then report back.

Just whatever is stock with Pixel Experience, I'm not sure exactly what they are

Screen
If the screen go to sleep once next turn it on can reboot only.

First bootup takes a while, but this is already mentioned in the main thread.
Signing in was either not working, or was taking far too long than usual. I put in the email, and it wasn't progressing. I did leave it for a bit, hoping it would eventually allow me to enter the password as well, but it was still just... loading. I backed out of it, and didn't sign into Google at all.
Tried to reboot - stuck on the Google logo. I gave up after about ten minutes.
Everything else is fine, I think:
Camera works.
Data works.
Location seems to work (didn't test it that much).
Bluetooth connection to my headset works.

where is the G925boot.img file?

Hi can I use encryption?
Does Gps Driving mode work?
What about safetypas? Can I replace fingerprint data and will be ok?

Confirmed working on Canadian variant 925w8

work on SM_g920i?

This ROM is really nice but I got one issue so far but I think it's due to the HWC thingy...
Apps launch times are really slow any Advice how to remedy this problem?

You're blind? It's in the link, clean your eyes well...

Native camera poor. None of the Gcam versions work, freezes all the time.
Bluetooth/Data/NFC work.
Good batery life.
Delay in flash on camera, pics aways dark.

Works great in my G-920F. Camera (native and Gcam working good). Maybe best battery life I've seen on this phone.
The issue I have is that, although it recognizes my Google account, it doesn't recognize the apps I have purchased, and is asking me to pay. Any fix for this issue?

Your device has been freshly flashed, right?
Wait for a while, check for Play Services updates, clear the Play Store cache.
It happened to me a few times, this is what I did to fix. Hope this works for you.

Thank you both io_gh0st and tillward.
I have just switched on this phone, and went to the Play Store, and without doing anything now my purchased apps are available for download without asking for paying again.
I guess it was a matter of allowing some time. Thanks for your support!!

What is Evervolv?
Evervolv is an AOSP (Android Open Source Project) rom. We're fully open sourced and encourage it with no restrictions. The work put into this ROM is community driven and Evervolv Project is made up of numerous members and contributors.
Right now the current source we are working on is KitKat (Android 4.4.x).
Current Evervolv version: 4.0.0b1
Installation
If coming from another ROM, you will need to wipe!
Download ZIP
Flash in recovery.
To enable GSM, download the GSM zip below and flash in recovery.
Note: If you have flashed the GSM zip and wish to go back to CDMA, download and flash the CDMA zip in recovery.
If S-ON:
Extract the boot.img from the zip file
then flash in fastboot with the command below:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Changing runtime from Dalvik to Art
Art is experimental, but if you wish to try follow the below instructions:
flash the rom (If you have already installed the standard gapps for Dalvik, you will need to wipe first.
boot and change the runtime to Art (settings -> developer options)
Let the phone rebot and do it's thing
Once rebooted, boot into recovery and flash the Banks gapps provided below
Working
Everyting regarding the phone's operation should work. Calls, data, wifi, camera, camcorder, video & bluetooth (calling and a2dp) etc.
Not working
Camcorder will take a few seconds to start recording.
Camcorder will stop working if used repeatedly, you will know it's not working if it starts "recording" immediately (reboot to fix)

Awesome! Will flash this afternoon and run it through its paces and report back.
Have you ran it for a bit @kkozma? How's battery life, I know its been poor in some 4.4.2 builds for the Rez.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
Poor battery life with the Rezound is just a fact of life... I know that switching to Art DOES increase battery life, but there are issues with Art that really make it not that great for a daily driver.
I've noticed a few graphics issues in this rom that we don't have in CM, so I'm going to have to investigate that a bit, but otherwise it's been pretty stable.
Netflix hack posted in 2nd post. Tested and working.
Nice job. Thanks!!!!!

So your saying that the battery life is as "typical" on KitKat with the Rezound as any other ROM?
Also, what issues have you noted with ART that might effect it being a daily driver? I use ART on my Nexus 4 and it is trouble free... What do you see as the reason ART couldn't be a dd ROM in this case?
Can someone post a screen shot of this once it is installed? Please
@kkozma ROM seems really smooth. YouTube, BT streaming and calls, and camera functions all work well with dalvik runtime. As you mentioned ART does seem to have issues at times.
Great job on the build - look forward to testing it out more as a DD.

Will post some screen shots shortly... Pretty plain jane, so not sure what your looking for.
One thing I noticed, from the home screen if you press Menu -> Settings nothing happens, no menu, pressing Settings from App screen works fine. Also, if you press Wallpaper from Menu on Home screen you get "Launcher3 has stopped" (Nevermind, it just didn't like the fact I had the SD card mounted as USB Storage, once I turned it off, it was fine). Just starting to play around, haven't even flashed Gapps yet.
EDIT: some basic screen shots attached, not much to see though
EDIT2: Gapps installed (Banks), base configuration, and some basic apps installed (Play Store didn't reinstall apps coming from LiquidSmooth) and ran it through some everyday stuff... Exchange email, WiFi Hotspot (tried Nexus 4, HP laptop, XBox360 all successful), media playback, Chrome, Google Maps, etc. all working fine, no issues of any kind so far other than the Menu->Settings things I mentioned above. Going to give it a run this week and see what happens... nice work @kkozma and the rest of the devs. :good:
EDIT3: Added a screen shot from after I configed with basic apps I use, a few widgets, and gapps... in case someone was interested.
Haven't really used Evervolv before, are the Performance settings hidden or just not in Evervolv?

Wow... memory usage is amazing so far, averaging 390MB free?!?! I haven't seen that in a LONG time!!!
Been using it for a little while, it's really fast. Might be because I had that install of CM11 for a while and I wiped it for Evervolv, but who knows.
With xposed and Gravity Box I'm not missing anything.
Anyone know if gsm is working? Cm11 doesn't quite have it working yet... Everything except sending texts...

Not sure about GSM. I do know that Evervolv uses a slightly different telephony codebase. Give it a shot!
This is my new daily driver ROM... I tried to break this, really I did, but I couldn't... everything works, Bluetooth, camera, tethering, prox sensor with no tweaks, Exchange email/calendar/contacts... everything. The ONLY think I found that isn't working is when you press Menu->Settings it does nothing, but accessing settings from the pull-down or app menu works fine.
Battery life is average, not terrible, but not great. Memory management and usage is amazing, and I am running with close to 400MB free on a regular basis.
FYI to others... this ROM is plain jane, there isn't any fluff at all, it is as very basic and has few tweaks and settings but that is by design. That isn't a bad thing but if you are used to Tachyon, Carbon, or others it might seem like something is missing, but it isn't, just be aware you will have to add the apps and stuff you want/need that are anything beyond the core of Android. Out of the box there is barely one full page of apps and only basic widgets, so you will probably need some lockscreen and widget add-ons as well if you are used to other ROMs.
All and all, for the first full blown KitKat release for the Rezound, this is a stable, usable basic ROM... I whole-heartedly recommend this ROM.
Will continue to use this as my DD, if I run across anything I will share.

Thanks for the glowing review! If it means anything to anyone else. I've installed this on my wife's Rezound and she has no complaints. She's as big of a technophobe there is, so I'd say that's also a good sign. Haha!
How about mounting the SD Card for USB mass storage? I wasn't able to get that going on mine and I saw someone in the CM thread with the same issue... I think it's probably something in the mount points, but I'm chicken to mess with that stuff!

It worked fine for me, but I did have to turn it on manually from the dropdown menu.
Edit: now that I think about it, all I did was access the internal storage to grab my screen shots, I didn't try to actually access the SD card, I will give that a shot when I get back to the office.

Ok, I just tested GSM with my AT&T sim card and it did not work. It's possible it was caused by something I missed in one of the config files to build with. I have corrected that and am re-building now.
Does built in wireless hotspot work without hotspot subscription check on vzw?

[ROM][2014-12-23] CM12 unofficial ALPHA for ATT HTC ONE M8

This is my first attempt at compiling cyanogenmod for my own phone. So far it works OK for me so I decided to share:
WARNING:
As of 20141223 you will need HBOOT version 3.19.000 to be able to use this. in order to get it install the latest firmware from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2696282
WARNING:
This is an ALPHA built, in other words too many things are broken and expect things to suddenly stop working. Make sure you know how to recover your phone in case anything breaks. If you have a grain of doubt that you may not be able to recover DO NOT PROCEED. and in the end of everything: I do not take any responsibility for anything that may or may not happen to your phone. You are flashing at your own risk not mine.
Requirements:
1. Custom recovery (I used TWRP)
2. Latest firmware version 3.19.000
Files that you need:
CM12 built: http://devbro.com/android/cm-12-20141223-UNOFFICIAL-m8.zip Last stable built with no issues for camera and bluetooth is 20141218
GAPPS: http://d-h.st/YQG
SUPERSU: http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu -- no longer needed
Steps:
0. Create a small temple using your favorite objects and pray to your favorite God or Gods for a successful outcome. I did about 2 hours of praying to Eutykhia. I suggest the same to you.
1. Back up your stuff using Titanium backup
2. Go into recovery
2.1 Do one last nandroid backup here of System, Boot, Recovery and Data
3. Wipe Data, System, Cache, Dalvik
4. install CM12 and GAPPS
5. restart upon completion
Things that do not work:
1. Titanium back up and apps that depend on root may hang. Flash SUPERSU from RECOVERY and it should fix it. Fixed as of 20141220
2. Camera does not work.
3. Bluetooth may not see new devices. Restart before adding each individual device.
4. If Calendar is not syncing install the Google Calendar from the Store
5. Apollo(music player) Keeps on crashing. I used Play Music(google music) to play my musics and it works ok so far. fixed as of 2014-12-06 build. Apollo no longer exists but a new music app that works just fine with nuplayer
6. Probably other stuff that I have not come across yet.
7. I have not been able to get the swype gesture on the keyboard. If you know why please tell us.
If you have suggestions:
Simply post it in the forum and I see What I can do about it. If there are
My mods to this code:
1. I had edited the platform.xml to allow write access to sdcard (aka sdfix)

Looks like you may have fixed more than Apollo in that last build. Camera, calender, and multiple bluetooth pairing worked out-of-the-box. Runs good. Only crash I've encounter so far is in trying to access the in-built Superuser settings, but it's redundant if you use the SuperSU app anyway.
Good job!

For the 2014-12-06 build I got a few more of the drm blobs. Still missing two blobs thought.
Hey, First - Thank You for this ROM it's a great start !
I have been using it since you released it and I just wanted to give my two cents. For being an Alpha build, mostly everything works. I have noticed few bugs but the most annoying one for me is when I'm playing music. 1) I would use Play Music and at first it worked fine but as of today, for some reason, it would play for the first 10 seconds and than it would go off. The music ticker would be increasing but the sound would not play. I would have to skip ahead a track than go back to have it play fully. 2) I also rooted and flashed the ROM on to my coworkers phone and for some reason, his mobile Data wouldn't work yet Wi-Fi works perfectly fine. 3) Something else that I noticed was that, when closing apps, more often than not, after hitting the "close all" tap, I would open the recent apps again and I would have a application running which was closed. 4) I would also get a FC when trying to change the settings in the Messenger app. It's not that important but I thought that I should mention it anyway.
That's all I have at the moment, Thank You again for your hard work.

Thank you so much for the info I will update the thread with these bugs. Here are a few things:
1. for the music player problem go to settings->development options->switch the music option from "nuplayer" to "awesome player"
2. I have no encountered this problem. did you check the APN settings and made sure that network data is enabled?
3. I do sometimes run into this problem
4. Are you using the default messenger app? I use textra which is very similar in look and feel and so far no breakage.
I have been trying to compile a new version but for the past 2 days the latest code off the branch keeps of failing the build at different points. If I get to fix the errors I will try again to upload a new build.

OK so,
1) I had it checked on and now I unchecked it, I will use it as normal and proceed with an update.
2) I'll be honest, he was being an annoyance so I did not check his APN though you are probably right.
3) I am using the stock messenger app. I had the Google application on here but I was receiving and "message not sent" error for some odd reason.
PS: That was a fast reply, good stuff. :good:
Just an update on the Music bug, I unchecked the box as before and after nearly a 24 hour testing period, I have encountered the bug a few times but not a much as before. I would say that I would have to apply the walk around (Changing the track and than going back to what I actually want to listen too) around five times. That is way less than before, so it did address the bug but it did not kill it.

Have you tried other other music players such as play music? I want to know if the bug is exclusive to Apollo or not.
I did have the problem at the beginning and simply seeking the music it helped. I have not encounter that problem for sometime. Plus I have been using a bluetooth headphones so that may have something to do with my case.

I have used Apollo and Play music. Play music is the main one used. On another note, my mobile data also broke just know. I am not sure why so i had to revert to my backed up ROM
Works great so far. Only issue I am getting g is that the screen won't turn off during call. The audio issue happened once and it worked later don't know why. My cars bluetooth works and controls audio but won't get the text messenges. Besides that feels great for being alpha. No crashes so far.
I finally managed to build the source code again. I hope you all like this one.

I uploaded a new built of for today so please re-download the file. The old file had a problem and I intentionally made the link 404 to prevent others from downloading the bad file.
As for Camera app problem it is a known issue with but using the google camera instead of the stock camera should fix this issue.
As for Flash-light app, I used it from the quick setting and it worked just fine for me.

*Update: That did it. Works great now.
Just a quick update for those using this. I have created a new built for 20141223 but so far i cannot get it to flash on my phone. Something to do with incompatibility between recovery versions. If i get to fix it i will post further updates.

Are you only using the CWM recovery? I've flashed the last 2 versions of this with TWRP. Care to put up a link?

Thanks for the heads up. I do not have an active sim card for my device so I never thought to checkout the baseband. I'll see what I can find.

I managed to install and boot without errors however.....
The software (android) is for a CDMA phone and I cannot get mobile network or APN to work on my GSM phone

Confirmed.No audio
Only Baseband not working
Thank you very much for the initiative and works. Everything is working okay. However, My SIM is not detected.
BASEBAND Version: I717UCMD3
Baseband not working
Baseband is not working for me too. Apart from that it looks stable and solid!
Sound not working
Great work done! We are making a lot of progress. No screen flickers. Gapps flashed without issues. Data works. Calls are fine. However, music plays but with no sound. I later had random reboots. Thanks a million!
reboots
Sound doesn't work but calls are fine and I had a few reboots.. I am really in love with theme engine and this build doesn't have it. I am hopeful we will have that working soon.
It is running very well however I getting reboots every time the device tries to 'sleep' or if I press the power button to lock it. Data and audio appear to be fixed. Great great great job!!
Does this Slim Build support Layers?

Also I am noticing that audio for phone calls is working fine but it is silent for Spotify, Amazon MP3, etc. Looking great though!!!
Same here audio played for a few seconds and then quit. I tried a few music apps and they all do the same. The phone rebooted once and that was right after the first boot since then no reboots. So far everything else is working good. I did a clean install
Internal Storage
I using a rom "Slim-quincyatt-5.0.2.alpha.0.91-UNOFFICIAL-20150216-2356", but has a two internal storage: 1.97gb and a 10.82gb the apps install in 1.97gb. I like a full storage. ¿solution of combine two partition?
PD: I dont have a sdcard

1.97gb is the system partition. 10.82 is the internal SD card of your phone. This is as close as you'll get to a single storage solution on the i717.

i just wanted to tell you that i installed the rom and it is great but the audio is also not working for me at all. everything else i use regularly is working flawlessly.
ok i have played around more with it. phone calls are not working for me. basically anything that requires audio seems to crash. I called myself from my work phone and tried to answer it and the phone rebooted. i tried youtube and bandcamp and a few other websites that play audio. youtube crashed the browser and pressing play on bandcamp does nothing. texts and emails and everything else seem rock solid.
I did a clean install from your twrp.

Why yes indeed they do & I should mention that in my OP. You all can use RRO for my slim builds. Just google it and you'll love it. I bet Mr Dparrothead1 is already familiar with RRO tho? lol

I know that you are working on it! in the developers thread you asked for testers and since i have less than 10 posts it made me post in this thread.
I had to restore my backup and go back to my old DD. By the end of the day this rom became very sluggish. The browser and facebook messenger kept crashing after a minute or so of use.
Also I was unable to record video of any kind. camera worked fine, but video would not record.
The flashlight didn't work when pressing the icon in the pulldown.
hope that helps, im looking forward to using this as my daily and will keep testing your builds.
New Build Feedback
I flashed the new build and the OK google functionality was lost as well as all audio. The design is friggin awesome, just a few more tweeks and it should be fine. I flashed the previous build after the new one, clean of course, and OK Google functionality was still lost. Keep up the good work and thank you for a glimpse of Lollipop.
is this rooted?

The benchmark from Antutu is quite low for this rom, only around 120K. The cpu part is only 25K. I would expect the battery life will be improved.
Been giving this a try since yesterday. Early days yet, but battery life doesn't seem any better. About the same. One thing I have noticed is that the battery optimization settings that were accessed via the gear icon under app management in settings has been removed. Seems like Gmail sync still doesn't work properly ?
Dolby Atmos hidden settings removed too!
Location bug, same old Gmail sync problem, some unwanted software changes, a three-month old monthly security patch. Bit of a bust really. I still like my LeMax2 but the software side of things is getting really annoying - no upgrade, bugs & problems in stock eui, bugs and problems in modded eui, bugs and problems and non-working features in all custom ROMs

Truly feel your pain. Gmail notification issue is killing me. It was my first time to use gmail under stock rom yesterday. I unlocked every option I could find and it was still mute. Then I find the issue has been reported long time ago with all kinds of LeEco models.
Have you tried some modded EUI rom? Do they have gmail issue?

It's supposedly fixed on Small eui, but mine still seemed to come with delays when I tried it. Small eui is a good rom but with every new version one fixed issue seems to be replaced by a new different issue.
I am giving Lineage a try now. It's not perfect, but it is a joy to get those Gmails arriving promptly.

Lineage and ResurrectionRemix work fine for me. But I had LTE signal issue (could be just display problem) and camera is not as good as stock.
I hope LE could remove the google service completely and so we could flash gapps package. I manually installed Play store and gmail and other services. I think that caused the problem.

Even on the Indian eui with properly preinstalled google apps including gmail, think there is still the gmail problem. Something in eui.
Lineage works fine. Battery drains a bit too quickly, and as you said, the camera isn't as good as in stock eui, but it's not terrible. And on the plus side, it has the latest security patch, it's buttery smooth, gets monster benchmark scores, and has really quick fast charging. Going to give it a go until there's another new eui version to try, hopefully N based.
How to get gapps to work on this rom? I flashed it trough twrp and when the phone boots it says setup wizard has stopped and i cant do anything from that...

You have to go to Le store and search Google and install play store that way. Gapps will not work so will need to wipe and flash again.
I'm amazed by the lack of support for this device and the software support was one of the main reasons why I changed my phone from redmi note 2 to a newer one...
Everybody here seems to forget that this phone wasn't made for our countries.
When I bought this phone I was conscious about that, I can't understand all these complaints.

It was meant for USA and India. In India it has officially got play services and even with Indian rom Gmail does not sync correctly.

Actually it was only meant for China and India. You can't consider X829 a device for USA as it had never been launched there.

Apart from the new features, I noticed:
The UI is smoother and more resposonsive
Google Lens keeps saying "Camera isn't working", whether I open it from Google app or from the camera app.

I just tried my Lens app and that has the same problem.
So it looks like a structoral problem.
Let's hope they can fix it in the next update/patch.
The update is now available in Hong Kong as well.
I received the update in Bulgaria two days ago and so far the phone is behaving perfectly fine, I also noticed the transitions are a bit smoother (not that it was sluggish before) and I also love the new theme colors. Regards

Could you please check the Lens app from google and see if you get an error the moment you try to use the camera?

I just installed this app and am also getting an error, the screen is black and there is a loading spinner for some time and then the error appears.
what's more, "Double tap to check phone" doesn't work either.
Also, after each restart, driving mode would lead your phone to Do not disturb mode, even if you had deleted that rule before.
double tap to check phone works if you enable it again in the special menu, i.e. you will find it already enabled so you will have to deselect and re-enable it, after which it will work as it should...until you turn off the phone...and then you are forced to redo this operation...

Many things are not working, double tap, Lens, Split screen, Google photo scan, Google Authenticator, many apps that require accessibility access are no longer working. What boarders me most is that Casting is no longer working. I hope they address these issues soon. If someone has a work around, I'll be glad.

as for me, one of my games got literally killed by the update (Touhou LostWord).
After updating it to Android 13, the game stopped working, at all! All attempts in fixing it, which include things like reinstalling the game, restarting the device, etc... just didn't work!
The game's customer service told me to reset my phone's cache partition, but Nokia just doesn't allow that, so I'm now very unhappy

I found out that if you side load app, it won't work unless you download it from Play Store, so don't use backed up apps. Accessibility access won't work unless you download it from Play Store. You can access Lens and Translate from Google Photos. Take a picture of what you want to search with Lens, open it with Photos app, you can use Lens from within the Photos app. I'll be glad if anyone has find any other features or solutions.
The latest update, v3.470, seems to have fixed those issues.
At least the Lens is working again.
Great to hear that.
