[INDIA] S10 All Models and Variants - Discussion Thread - Samsung Galaxy S10 Guides, News, & Discussion

Guys,
Who all are getting the S10?
Is there any indication on the launch date and availability date? Also, which all variants will arrive to India?

I'm getting it yes 10 plus

Some one on a portuguese said this :
Mod Edit: English only please. If a second language is required, please post it below the English comment as I have here.
Somente inglês por favor. Se uma segunda língua é necessária, por favor poste abaixo do comentário em inglês como eu tenho aqui. Obrigado.

After the launch event will decide to go with which model.

S10+ for me as well.

I will go for the S10+ model. I'm currently on a s8 (Also have the note 8 and note 9) so this will be the first S upgrade in 2 years time, I'm hyped!

Any insights on the availability date..
I have my eyes on the S10plus.. don't know if i want 512GB..

4th.. 5th March...stores will have as per some Samsung tiny birds.
At 92k for the 512 gigs, it's too much to pay for....

Just Rs 15000 for exchange of old phones?

Yes, enough for most including me, at the cost of sacrificing the Ceramic back but also that comes with added weight.

Ofcourse the in-house Exynos and possibly again the overall inferior one(unless Samsung proves otherwise) this time too, with the 8 nm process to start with..

Guys, there is a speed difference between the different SSDs used in Galaxy s10 models.

I saw it in my Facebook news feed. Looks promising. I welcome a refurbished Note 7 with smaller battery capacity, if it means safer device. 3200mAh is a fair compromise. I'll just bring along a power bank.

I suppose you could.
But I don't think anybody can guarantee it will work.
Unless Zack, from Jerryrigeverything tries this. But I doubt he has the Note 7 any more.
If your note7 is running well like me then why you just need to swap it's battery I m using my note7 with hydra Rom without any heating issue and if you don't have any problem with your device I suggest you to not change your battery and be patient because we will get soon an update for our beloved device

I agree but the first run note 7s wont get any updates.
The refurbed units will likely run new firmware all together and could possibly be nougat.
Whether that firmware can be flashed on 1st gen note 7s remains to be seen.

There's no way Samsung will release this firmware meant for refurbished Note 7 for the originals.
In fact, I highly doubt it will even be called Note 7. It will most likely bear a different name.

I definitely won't be flashing anything that comes straight from Samsung, compatible or not. If a dev here decides to jump on it and make their own port I'll happily donate if something happens in the development forum.

It's a milestone.
Hmm. I wonder what is Samsung considering.
Will they released before or after Note 8?
Release before and diminish potential Note 8 sales? Or release after but not expect much returns?

Thats a good question and both points have merit.
I would think they would want to get them on the market and sold ASAP..having them sit in a warehouse isnt making them money

Yup it's going to be called The note 7R and will be half priced of it's original 800$ usd.
i had to settle for the s7 edge -- gold. then, a couple months ago they released it in the effin' coral blue of the note 7. i miss my note 7. good thing i can take my mom's upgrade eligibility status so i don't have to pay for an early upgrade. i may just wait for the N8. i really miss the note 7. it figures i finally found a device which i actually liked, bordering on love, and it gets recalled. twice. i shoulda just held onto it.

Did you see the Specs? It says it will come with a Full HD Display, instead of the original QHD.
Here's a link: http://technave.com/gadget/Rumours-...-downgraded-resolution-and-battery-10405.html
So why would Samsung do that?
resolution should be switchable from FHD to QHD and viceversa as always.
No reason to force on FHD about FE
Pre orders are up on Ebay.
$1100 canadian.... now thats funny since it waa cheaper last year new.

It's BACK! Yes! Well, will see the true specs of the Note 8. If it has no 4k display or dual speakers, i ll get my note 7 back!
Too bad samsung only released it in their home country...talk about favouritism..guess they could care less about anyone who isnt Korean.
Thats BS...should be available to everyone direct from samsung.
Not cool.

that's really strange if Samsung doesnt sell NOTE 7 FE in other main markets such as Canada and USA. Think about it, what if:
1. someone bought it in South Korea and travel to N.America with it? Is this allowed?
2. People are selling it on ebay then there's no control of it unless they are blocking the IMEI like what they have done in Canada last year.
They should just restart the productinon of the note 7.
They should have released it with the s8 or along with note 8.
First Unboxing !!!!!

Do not use Samsung reward points to redeem the VR headset

DO NOT uses you're Samsung Pay points to redeem the gear VR headset. It doesn't specify which version it is.....I thought it was the 2017 version like they did last year with the Note 7 getting the 2016 version but this version is the 2016 version. I'm out 12000 Samsung Pay points and Samsung won't refund or send a 2017 due to "terms and conditions" specified.

i've read that the 2016 works anyway, its just a bit tight.
Hmm.. we have a 2016 for our s7 edge... I'll see if my note 8 fits in it now.
EDIT: The old gear vr has the different charge port, so you can't plug the note 8 into it. Its not a matter of size, its connections.
Maybe you can flip it on ebay?

Question Is dual frequency GPS supported?

There seems to be no reliable information online about whether the Galaxy S23 Ultra supports dual frequency GNSS on the GPS or Galileo networks, can someone check please?

I don't know! That's why I asked!
Let me expand on that a bit- It is known that dual-frequency gps devices can achieve 10cm accuracy. Reading through Sean Barbeau's blog from many years back, the capability was added to android 10 (or was it 11?) but no apps had been updated to take advantage of that capability yet. That was a LONG time ago- I bought a galaxy S10+ on release day in anticipation of that, that's how long ago it was- but haven't seen much about it since. Now that it's time to finally replace that S10+, I was checking in to see if there's any progress and to potentially validate which new hardware I should get...

S10 US (Snapdragon) did no have dual freq GPS enabled. And the Exynos versions that did have it still didn't have software support for sub-meter accuracy. My mission now is to see that if the software accuracy is now increased in any S23 Snapdragon variants.
Hi all,
maybe I missed the answer...
Does S23 Ultra european version have dual frequency gps?
Moreover, can it record phone calls (in Europe) using default Samsung dialer or app Phone by Google?
