Why would you even consider this battery case? We all know the OnePlus 6T has great battery life and at first it may seem redundant to even need this accessory. Stay tuned, you may find a solution to problem you didn't know you had to deal with.
Sadly the days of user replaceable batteries are over and opening your device is not an option for alot of people. Not everyone has the luxury of buying a new device every year, so for some they stay with their device until it stops functioning. New studies have shown charging 20% to 80% will indefinitely increase the lifespan of your device. But even with this new charging habit you will lose 40% of your battery capacity. That suddenly makes the 6T's battery life go from 3700mAh to 2220mAh. This most certainly will not last you the whole day especially if you depend on wireguard or openvpn protocols, as a result healthy charging habits don't seem like a viable option. Carrying around a battery pack with a cable wrapped around device in your pocket isn't exactly an elegant solution.
First thing is first, here are screen protectors I have found are compatible with the Zerolemon Battery Case. I'm sure there are plenty more but this is what I tested. Once you decide which screen protector is right for you, remember a Glass Screen Protector is in your best interest. The added weight of the battery case will not pair well with a film protector if you drop it on the floor. It will most certainly crack your display upon impact with using a film protector.
Compatible
T-Mobile Puregear Glass Screen Protector
OMOTON Tempered Glass Screen Protector (Not Full Coverage)
Skinomi Case Friendly HD/Matte Film Protector
IQ Shield Case Friendly HD/Matte Film Protector
Not Compatible
Official OnePlus 6T Glass Screen Protector
I_B_Y_W_I_N_D Glass Screen Protector (Black Border version)
Kiss Rainbow Full Coverage Glass Screen Protector
You engage and disengage charging on the battery case with long pressing the button on the back. You will even get a handy battery meter on the back of the battery case to show the current charge left with a single press of the button. If your using XDA, I can safely assume you rooted your device and can take advantage of Battery Charge Limit. This app is available on the Google Play store and can help with maintaining healthy Charging habits. Once enabled it will safely disable charging to 80% on the default settings. You will get a notification on your device letting you know the app will do it thing and will give you an alert to remind you to turn off the battery case and disable the charging service once your at 80%. Otherwise your device will charge until 80% and then recharge at 77% using its default settings. You can tweak these settings to your liking, but I find the default ones are good enough for my usage. For those who are wondering, you can completely charge the zerolemon battery case without charging the 6T past 80% using Battery Charge Limit. Keep in mind the charging of the Zerolemon Battery Case is slow and will not take advantage of OnePlus' proprietary dash/warp charging. You can get about almost 4 full charges from 20%-80% in my usage out of the battery case before it needs to charged again.
By far the biggest flaws with this case is losing NFC and use of the headphone jack adapter. While it's not the focus of my review you can enjoy charging of other devices using it's USB port on the right. But for the price of 59.99 USD, its not bad considering its faster and easier than opting for a battery replacement in the future. A breath of fresh air for me after having to consistently replace my old nexus 6p's battery so often. This accessory has gotten me to utilize healthy battery charging habits. It's not perfect but I can recommend it if you plan keeping the OnePlus 6T during its lifetime. You can purchase the OnePlus 6T Zerolemon Battery at amazon for those who are interested.

So you note that NFC isn't compatible. Is it a distance issue or a Faraday cage/metal issue? I use NFC almost daily so that's a no go for me. Headphones also is a huge issue as I connect to the car this way, but I could still make use of this case when not using my car...

[Review] - Extended Battery

Ok, here is a little review on the extended battery (2800 mAh) and its bulky back casing.
comparing the extended battery casing and standard casing, and the batteries:

in my hand:
physically, the back casing fits nicely...yeah it makes the TP2 more bulky and yeah, you'll notice the bulk. but, i need the extra power....
Physical Review
The extended battery is heavier than the standard one, so, its not just adding the extra bulk but also extra weight. If you are already used to the weight of TP2, you wont notice the extra weight but you will immediately notice the extra bulk!! Surprisingly the back casing sits firmer than the standard casing, i dont experience the usual "accidently opened casing" using theextended battery casing. The material is plastic with a glossy finish, similar to original casing (quality is still questionable thou), sadly, the color is light grey so it makes the coloring uneven. A darker grey would be better. The extended casing will add an extra around 3-4 mm to the device. I did not notice any difference in the sound produce by the extra casing compared to the standard one. the volume keys works well, the mute button also does the job, glowing only on the side gaps. The stylus hole is too deep, its a pain to get the stylus out. But hey, i dont think I ever take out the stylus except only when I have to do a softreset.
Performance
I need to let you know that i'm a very heavy user of the device. Using standard battery on EDGE, i usually get 9 hours of juice, sometimes less (4.5 hours standby, 4.5 hours usage). When i turn it to HSPA, it would go for only 6 hours. If i use automatic, it will go in between. My test on the battery is using the automatic for the first cycle, EDGE and HSPA will be added later.
Test result:
Automatic setting: 14 hours
EDGE only: 17 hours
HSPA only: 10 hours
Looking good there.... I predict for normal usage will add extra 1-2 days of durability.
and oh yeah, i bought it here...

Maybe you could mention it's a 2800mAh battery in the first post.
Wonder how long the battery lasts. I get about 3 to 4 days with my Vario V wich is a lot for a WM device
thanks mate, just edited it,
my standard battery last me for 9 hours so i'm hoping it would last me more than 15 hours
Seems like a pretty heavy device to me. Since the original TP2 isn't really light when you get it.
added performance review.
forgive me for asking, but what exactly do you do on the device that drains the battery that quickly ?? i get by about 3 days on standby, 36 hours with cell radio on, 36 hours without. a little bit of wifi and text messaging and around 15 minutes of phone calls each day, give or take a few minutes.
Just a guess, but probably the GPS is the problem. That, on any phone, EATS battery capacity rapidly.
There's a new SiRF chipset - v4 - due out soon, that allegedly combats this problem, but we won't be seeing that in phones for at least two generations yet, due to design, prototyping, pre-production, production, and lead time to market issues, of course.
i would, however, jump on this if htc released their own official battery pack with a proper battery cover.
does ne one know if this will fit the cdma version (telus) touch pro 2
Isn't the extended battery WIDER than the original? How does it fit in then?

not WIDER but THICKER and it fits in well in the compartment thou it will pop up half of the extra battery's body.

nah, GPS is normal.....its the data traffic that eats me battery
Try to replace the battery when it runs low.. Maybe it will increase the battery life.
this was the case with the 2800 battery for the tytn II...
It refilled till 60 % i think after first replace, than till 20 after second..
I think thats a known issue for some of yours

Offtopic, but.
SiRF IV is for dedicated GPS devices. Phones have been using A-GPS functions of SoC chips for some time now. Now recent *phone* that I know of uses SiRF chips and I don't expect this to change for the foreseeable future, even with SiRF IV. Yes, there will be lower power A-GPS SoCs out there, but the savings will be negated by higher Mhz CPU/GPU combinations.
I got a 2nd battery which I think more practical..
With the bigger battery, it won't fit in the case or the car holder for GPS use!

true it wont fit, but more practical in a way u dont have to charge 2 batteries and i use my car tray and sits my tp2 there using antislip surface (tilted) looks more natural.

Seido extended battery case with NFC and wireless charging working.

Since I got my Samsung Galaxy Note 3, I have wanted to use an extended battery with it, to reduce my well-founded fear of running out of power. But finding a cover for an extended battery to protect my expensive phone has not been easy. However, I may have found a solution who also let me use the NFC and wireless functionality of the phone.
The Seidio DILEX Extended Case with Metal Kickstand for Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is made for the Seidio Innocell 4800mAh extended battery. But pictures showed that the battery was as big as other, larger capacity batteries. And Seido apparently use the same type of back cover as others. From pictures, it looked just like my Anker 6400mAh extended battery. So I decided to try it out, and it fitted perfectly.

For the NFC and wireless functionality to work, I used the original Samsung Galaxy Note 3 wireless charging battery cover. I removed the charging pad from the cover, cut a small part from it who interfered with the extended battery and fastened the contact points with duct tape.
As you can see in this youTube video, everything works with my original Samsung wireless charger.
Possible problems. The Seidio DILEX extended battery case is a little slippery, and may not offer as good grip and corner protection as the Balistic case I used before. The wireless charging did not work with a cheap Fasttech charger I had. I believe the kickstand may cause problems. It's metal, and it cause the cover to bulge out more.
All in all I'm satisfied with the cover. I think it looks good, it feels solid and the buttons work fine. It does add extra protection. The kickstand is a nice bonus.
Great review. Thank you for that. Just as I'm about to pull the trigger on this one, I came across the Seidio LEDGER view extended case. The back has got to be the same size as the DILEX to allow for the Anker 6400 mah. Either way, I'll order one of these today. I post a review if I end up getting the LEDGER.
Thanks again!

Could you go into detail about how your extracted the coils and circuits from the wireless charging cover? I'm playing with one and it seems pretty well stuck together and I'd rather not break the internals and have to pay for another one.

It's covered in the wireless charger thread, for instance this post by sometimesido.
sometimesido said:
When you get the samsung wireless charging cover, look at the inside of the cover. They glued the plastic panel that the charging coil is, on to the outer cover.
You pry the inner plastic panel from outer cover by inserting a small flathead screw driver and twist to break the glue points.
After that, you very gently break off the melted plastic "points" that the shiny metal part is attached to. You will see what I mean when you get one.
The charging coil has a sticky pad attached to the plastic panel, you very gently "peel" it off, not to bend or break any parts.
After that, you line up the connecting points to the battery and nfc(?). You can either tape it to the phone or figure out a way to mount it to the factory battery cover.

Backup battery case not CP12

Hi all.
I have a CP12 and it's great, the problem I have is that it increases the width of the phone, and it makes it more difficult to hold with my smallish hands.
Ebay has a ton of cases with battery that only increase the depth. is any of these any good?

These ones are junk. http://www.ebay.com/itm/5000mAh-Ext...Cell_Phone_PDA_Cases&var=&hash=item3cd807fed6
I got another one from Brando, I'm sure it doesn't compare to Sony but is usable. I have the GPe model and made the deskclock app go in and out of dock mode until I disabled it. Sometimes if you are using phone while charging it stops charging requiring button to be pushed again, if left alone while charging it seems to do fine.
I have one of these http://www.ebay.com/itm/4500mAh-Ext...Cell_Phone_PDA_Cases&var=&hash=item1c38ac1acc
not the price I paid. The vendor on ebay removed hes or hers account all the sudden.
My device does not work and I contacted support and got my money back. ****ing prick..the vendor also promised to send a new unit but no parcel ever arrived.
To get mine to power up I need to plug in the power cable, have the phone in the case and then push the on/off button. Remove the cable and now it stays on for a while.
Yes mine does also turn it self off now and then and I need to push the button again....
To get rid of the dock mode when the charging case is turned on I just install a module with xposed framework that disables docking mode.
The issue I have is that the case does not register my device. If I push the button without having the cable connected it just flashes the lights a few times and turns off again. It acts like it doesn't have any device in the case..
I want to find a slim case with a PHYSICAL on and off switch. Not a micro switch that sends a 11 or 10101 signal to some motherboard inside the case and enables the charging. This solution is crap!
...theres no way im buying that sony battery case for that price and that tiny little battery inside

That does look like the second one I purchased from Brando. I also forgot to mention it has some kind of a matte anti-slip coating applied that is wearing off on the corners and edges.

Hi all
I was about to buy this http://mugen.co/mugen-power-4000mah-battery-case-for-sony-xperia-z-ultra.html . After i bought a new Samsung S5 i did not.
The battery i bought from mugen to my S5 is quite good and have a good quality so i believe it will be same for Xperia Z Ultra.

...dafuk?? $90 for a battery case?
Actually additional shipping also needed so total cost is over 100$.
But as far as i see until now (2 Mugen brand battery covers) they are quite good quality and well built.
I am writing this just as a satisfied customer. Buying or not buying is your decision, i just suggested Mugen because i saw what is written about cheap battery cases at above messages.
Thanks
yes I understand you absolutely but my opinion is that an accessory should not cost that much It's too much money if you count in the cash you already spent on buying the device alone.
The only issue with the cheap alternatives is the motherboard inside the battery case that is made by some unskilled chinese guy who don't know how to solder..
If you replaced the micro-switch with a physical on/off switch and isolated the components and used thicker cables so that the screen stop flickering probably from other radio frequencies disturbing the motherboard it would be just fine

I tried that one for my GS 3 and I remember if you don't place the phone directly on the connector perfectly, it would scratch the hell out of it. You have to line it up perfectly. Instead I went w/ a Zenis dock. Can't find it for the G3
I'm thinking about this but not sure if it'll fit even the slimmest case:

And, the LG spare battery charger works as a stand, maybe even with a slim case, but not with my Otterbox Symmetry.

I got this one. It has an adapter that you can remove that lets you use a 'slim' case in the dock. I'm currently using the CruzerLite Bugdroid case and it fits just fine. If you keep the adapter in then it fits the G3 without a case.
The base is rather stable. There is some weight to it that keeps it from tipping over, but it does have a wobble if you try to tip it yourself. Also, if you're charging an extra battery while the device is docked, it's not enough power to charge both devices. I think the extra battery takes priority because with both in it, the phone slowly loses a charge even though it has a charging symbol/
I am rather please with it, I just use the LG extra battery charger instead of using this to do it

It's fine as long as your screen brightness isn't turned all the way up. I also don't run my GPS solid. I check it to confirm my route, then I'll start it up again when I get close.
Wireless charging isn't as fast as wired, and there is some heat generation, so if your screen's on while it's charging and running GPS, it will be getting pretty warm.

I'm guessing this would depend on the adapter you are using with it. My guess would be a higher amperage adapter would be able to charge both.
I got this one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/251590336467?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
Great quality material and looks nice. Has a green light when connected. Also has on OTG capabilities.
Also comes with a 120cm data cable.
I got my two docking stations the other day, but I don't have my G3 yet, so I can't tell how nice it fits.
Tried my brother's Galaxy S4 and it fits it perfectly and charges at a 1700 MAH.
If you are looking for a dock that will use usb cable, I would highly recommend keeping an eye for this one
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/957745871/arq-apple-or-android-iphone-6-5s-5c-5-ipad-s4-s5-n
Unfortunately they are sold out at the moment. I was a supporter so I received my Arc last week. I can finally say I found a dock that can be used with just about any case. I actually picked this up for use with my LG G Pad, but works just as well with the G3. (Using Qi with the G3, so this will primarily be for my G Pad). The back / pins are easily adjustable, as well as the usb cable, so it will indeed fit any case out there. Only thing is you would need to readjust if changing cases often. Again, works well. Keep an eye out for when they are publicly available.

wireless charger

i found a qi charging reciever that delivers a 1000ma output which i suppose will work.
it shows a height on the pad to be about 9mm.
does anyone have any experience using the wireless chargers with this phone?
i know i can build a dock pretty easily, so building a receiver might not be that hard either, but id rather modify something that works already and then reverse engineer from there.
The receivers are generic now and can be found for under $10. It looks like the G4 Plus is an ideal candidate for one since the back cover pops off and also the MicroUSB port is right at the edge of the cover. I've seen someone post a video on YouTube of a G4 Plus with one of these installed.
The 2 concerns I have:
- In the YouTube video the person showed that the back cover didn't close 100% near the MicroUSB port. I imagine this might differ between receivers and could be worked around by using a knife and making the opening around the MicroUSB a hint bigger. It is just the back cover after all... easily replaced.
- When you have one of these plugged in, it occupies the MicroUSB port, which means no more Turbo Charging or PC access without a hassle. Since I would like to retain those features and also since I have backed ZNAPS on kickstarter, this is a deal breaker for me.
I plan to get one of these and solder it to the internal side of the MicroUSB port. That works around both of my concerns (but would void warranty).
I have one of those receiving adapters in my drawer, and two Qi chargers, from my previous phone. Wasted money.
The receiver gets hot while delivering the charging current. They are installed on top of the battery - battery that gets hot anyway during charging.
Cumulative heating effect will lead to shorter battery life span or even worse (fires).
In my experience the G4 Plus gets a lot less warm than most others when charging (and in general) so I'm not too worried about that. In my case the wireless charger would really only be used to maintain 100% while working.
had a qi receiver still lying around and just tried this. Works well and the battery case doesn't stick up any more than without the pad. the flat ribbon cable fits right under the case. I cut away the bulky side edges of the plug itself to make it as small as possible. Charging works. I have not tested how fast it is and how warm it gets. Over the period of 15min it didn't get warm at all, but I'm sure that charging is slow.

I have tested several Wireless chargers for my N4 and S7 Edge and Nexus 7, some dose get warmer than others..
So an important thing is to get the right charger or a fan by your charger if you are councered. Otherwize i love WC and have orderd a WC reciver for my G4 plus.
But All phones do get a bit warmer with WC. ..
Samsungs fast WC have a built in fan. I dont use any phones without WC now a days, once you get use to it its great.

Sorry, only saw this now. Too slow compared to a regular charger. Maybe it was intermittently charging. I gave up on it. No overheating though.

Hi there!
I am planing to solder this pas directly to the battery cord.
Do you think it will work well? Or do i brick my phone?
As you can see, i removed the plastic cover. So i can replace the battery without anny tool in the future (swaped the old battery with an fresh original one).
