Outline of the fingerprint scamner on the AOD - Samsung Galaxy S10 Themes, Apps, and Mods

It would be nice if there would be an option to set the outline of the fingerprint permanently on the AOD to know where to put the finger even with the screen off because it's a weak solution to first wake up the display and then put your finger on it. Any one has a solution ? Sorry for my bad English I'm from Poland

There's an option close to what you're asking for, but it's not quite permanent. Go into settings and into fingerprints. There's an option called "Show icon when screen is off". This makes the finger guide appear on the AOD also but it won't stay permanently. But you should check it out nonetheless.

I have this but still u need to do 2 taps to perfectly fit the scanner there should be an option to turn this on permanently like f.e. clock

it will probably come with AOD update.

This would most certaintly create screen-in, right??

Yup! It would definitely cause screen burn-in. The AOD clock actually can move around a bit (even if it's very subtle), but you wouldn't want the icon of the fingerprint sensor to do that as it would defeat the purpose of lining up with the sensor

The guiding circle could move a few pixels to the sides and we wouldn't notice, we are not that exact when placing the finger, I believe something like the previous S lines had for the force touch button on the AOD would be great.

What about a lock screen wallpaper?

This is exactly what I was thinking as well. Tbh, once you get used to the placement after a few weeks we won't even need any indication of where the fingerprint sensor is.

Yeah. I think we all have to be patient with this phone. Like the iPhone X, it marks a fairly significant change overall for a Samsung device, and it'll take some getting used to. Remember all the reports of how bad Face ID was working on launch?

The circle doesn't have to move at all. It could just grow bigger or smaller as long as the center of the circle is the center of the FPS.

i could just be like a small dot or circle that stays where the center of the sensor is. then it can move around slightly like the clock and date do to prevent burn in but still be always somewhat in the center of the fp sensor.

[Q] Touch screen over sensitive

I just bought a Tablet Z 32GB WIFI version model SGP312 from Hong Kong. The stock firmware version is 10.1.C.0.344.
It seems to me the touchscreen is very sensitive. E.g. when I am scrolling in Google play, it often "register" my finger motion as a touch and opens up the apps. When in Google Chrome, when scrolling a webpage, it will something zoom in, or open up new links instead.
It makes the tablet almost unusable. Anyone having similar issues. I read from this forum link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2289978 the following"10.1.C.0.353
Released on 8 May
Touch responsiveness improved."
However, I tried using Flashtool to update the newer firmware (I've unlock my tablet's bootloader) but it doenst flash at all, no error messages.
Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Yes, mine is oversensitive, too. Same Firmware as you, unrooted, untouched firmware.
I will send it back anyway because additionally the screen is too yellow, the headphone protection is not firmly in place, video playback from SMB is stuttering, YouTube has out of sync problems, and the USB port isn't able to power my external disk (something my other tablets do without problems).
This device is seriously overrated; I think the reviewers are kind of dazzled by the thinness and low weight and thus too willing to overlook the weaknesses.

Youtube works fine with mine, and you can pull the pre-installed screen protector out and replace with an after-market one, thats should take care of the yellowish, and by external disk you mean the portable one?

Do you mean the protective layer that is there to protect it during transit or is there an additional screen protector pre-installed?

After you pulled off the matte protective layer, there's another pre-installed screen protector, its causes the yellowish and fingerprint - magnet, pull it off and replace with after market screen protector

Thanks! I will give it a shot today. Does it come off easily? Coz it wasn't apparent there is a screen protector, I am guessing it's not that easy to remove.

You should prepare another screen-protector to put in after u pull the pre-installed one off. AND YES, its hard to pull off, super sticky so be careful not to scratch your screen

Oh crap, I wonder if its a shatter proof film and if its such a good idea to remove it then.I don't have a replacement for sure! But I'd definitely love to get rid of the yellowish tint.
Thanks again!

Anytime, it is a shattered proof film, but thats film mean to protect you, not the screen, its contains glass fragments in case the screen get broken, so feel free to pull it off and buy a replacement one on amazon, i did the same to my xperia z phone as well, the pre-installed film attracts alot of dust, and fingerprints magnet.

Has anyone seen this on their Xperia ZU or ZU GPE Screen?

@jerdog posted this video earlier. Anyone else notice this with either their Xperia ZU or their ZU GPE?
I checked mine and it seems to not be as bad as jerdog's . On mine it seems to only happen when I press one particular spot on the screen
WHY did you have to show me this? I just checked by opening a black image in Chrome, and it does happen in one spot if i push hard. Looks like a part of the LED "feels the pressure".
Edit: Oh, also, the Z Ultra uses a "zero gap" display, which means that the LCD panel and the glass is one part, so by pushing the glass down, we also push the LCD panel down.

Yes, Sir. I read it somewhere on the Sony blog or whatever. You can easily see this yourself by holding your finger straight down on the screen while it's on. It'll look like you're touching the piuxels and not the glass (which looks to be really really thin)

Yeah similar with mine. But it is more pronounced in the left and right of the screen about 2/3 from the bottom of the phone. Not a problem i guess.. But that just shows you how sensitive the display is and might need some extra care for not putting too much force on it.

Yup, it doesn't surprise me, being an LCD display, but it's only noticeable if i press much harder than i'd usually press, so it won't even be noticeable under normal (human) usage.

I heard it isn't as good as Samsung ones.
How much did you end up paying?
Is it interactive like Samsung ones?
I got it and it works fine. You can slide left and right to answer or dismiss calls, gives you time, date and weather info otherwise if you press the power button.

Question re the cover I got mine from Amazon UK
On the Amazon pic it looks like clear glass but on my cover the glass is frosted and the display is not clear it's slightly blurred anyone else got this issue
I guess everyone got it slightly blurred but for that few information it provides - I think it's clear enough.

Mine is just a grey plastic, but it is clear enough. Not frosted exactly, just not clear glass
I'm waiting for mine to arrive
Got mine from Amazon Germany for 16 euro. Good quality. Screen on after opening works fine. But a clear window would be better...
I have the case too. that only case that not lift my mofi glass.
I wish they add more things to screen like notification battery presentege
The smart cover is a good idea. Just hasn't been implemented right missing crucial features
I got sick of this cover after 10 seconds due to the case covering the notification light, blurry front view window and AOD switching off after 10 seconds. At first I thought the ambient light sensor being blocked by the case was the problem (the sensor which is an inch to the right of the earphone speaker, which determines whether or not your phone is face down, or in your pocket/bag in order to switch the screen/AOD off to save battery) so I took a knife to the cover to see if that helped. It didn't. Even after cutting a section of the case out and exposing the ambient light sensor it still doesn't keep AOD on. I have attached a photo in the link below of my butchered cover for comedy purposes
http://imgur.com/ay3MBCC
Does anyone experience that sometimes when a phone call comes in that the smart cover doesn't activate the smart cover so you have to flip it open to see who is calling

You don't see it the components of the finger print sensor the small and large square between number 5 and 8. They are only visible in direct sunlight on light/white wallpapers
Did you expect a component that is able to read your fingerprint, located under glass, to be completely invisible in every possible situation? ?

Actually OP has a pretty valid point, and you are being just annoying. Nobody expects to see stuff from under the screen no matter what on any device. Only the display contents are supposed to be visible.

The above being said.. I don't think I can see this under my screen. I have never noticed this (but have not looked for it either). Either outside under sunlight or inside; on bright and/or white background apps. Mine is BOE screen, not LG, if that makes any difference.

Question Anyone noticed this weird square before the March update?

When the phone is in direct sunlight, the phone changes the screen brightness. Somehow a slightly tilted square appears where the fingerprint sensor is located. It's not visible when manually setting brightness to the max. I hadn't noticed this before. When pressing the lock button, the square immediately disappears even though the screen off animation is still running, so it's probably a software thing.
Are there others who also have this (possibly on the February update as well)?

I meant that someone had already noticed it before.
Now that the sunlight is even brighter I actually see another rectangle (proximity/light sensor?) just below the front camera. I get the feeling it's not actually a software thing but just the transparency of the screen that's making it possible to look inside the phone in bright sunlight.

Yeah I get that it has to do with the sensor. I just thought that somehow they had limited brightness in that area or something, but i.g. it's just the transparency of the screen that's causing it to be visible
