[STOCK ROM][ZIP][ROOTED][OREO] LG V20 20B (H990/DS/SS) Security Patch - 1 March 2019 - LG V20 ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other Developm

Intro:
I've created another flashable ROM zip from the latest H990DS KDZ.
Everything is working correctly on my H990 Single SIM.
Download:

MD5:

Security Patch:
1 March 2019
ARB:

Dual SIM:
As a precaution In the case of dual SIM not functioning:
Before flashing this, backup your current OREO ROM's EFS and Firmware partitions.
Restore these two partitions if there are SIM problems.
Restoring these partitions from a Nougat ROM will most likely cause problems!
Single SIM:
I have this running on a single SIM H990 without issue.
If you see second SIM functions in the ROM and want to disable it, use this SIM toggler
Installation process:
• Flash latest TWRP
• BACKUP everything
• Clean wipe (system, data, caches)
• Flash ROM
• Flash Magisk
• Flash MK2000 Oreo kernel
• Reboot
• Enjoy

I have the February version of your rom on my h990ds. Is it necessary to run a clean flash or can I install the new version over the current one?
By the way, thank you for your great rom.

Does this ROM overwrite the recovery partition?

That is also my impression. And the system is running smoothly as is.
I am mainly interested in improvements of the camera without additional risks.

Tried on 990DS
Second sim not working now.
EFS restore didn't help.
Refurbished via LGUP original KDZ firmware. Still not working.
Be careful

This is a dual SIM ROM that is untouched from the original KDZ so not sure how that is possible.

I mean any backup (I have some Nougat and Oreo) including EFS-backup can not fix "No service" on second sim, neither do any KDZ firmwares using LGUP.

Update.
"No service" fixed by downgrading to Stock Nougat => DirtySanta => OREO => restore EFS (twice).

I have a h990ds and still ds support. But to be honest, I do not know, if I lost it. I restored the efs and the firmware partition from my backup directly after flashing the new rom, to be on the safe side. I do not know, if it was necessary, but at least I had no issue. All is working fine.

Hi @philipped346 !
Thanks! I'm using MultiROM, which version should I download: recovery or fastboot?
Hello, recovery .
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
WARNING! I'VE TRIED TO FLASH THIS TWICE, a older build and one of the latest. Both times it completely erased EVERYTHING on my phone. I downloaded one one for recovery, wiped system, data, cache and flashed. It times out with unknown something than EVERY partition has to be formatted to a different format then back to EXT4 for me to be able to flash anything else.. maybe it's just my bad luck but are there any steps besides wiping and flashing? (Make a backup of everything first people)

I think it is beceause the .zip files are not signed.
If you want FFos as primary OS, you should flash it via fastboot.
Might be very nice of you to add something like "this isn't to be flashed via recovery like normal ROM unless using MULTIROOOOOOM" to OP now that you're aware, unless there's a way to sign these

updating nightlies and changelog
Is there away to update to the newest nightly build without deleting the previous version.
I am using multirom.
And is there a changelog somewhere for each nightly build?

The only way I know to update without deleting the previous version is to flash FFos as primary rom and flash updates via recovery.
If you want daily changelog, you can read code commits : https://github.com/mozilla-b2g/gaia/commits/master
But it's not easy to understand.
Or you have global changelogs links in the first post.

Say what now?! Sweeeet. Support all variants? Feel like it would just making sure
As far as I know it should support all variants with the same hardware as the G3 I can't tell which devices are different. Since I'm basically new to the LG devices as well ? I don't know how much the US and Korea version differs from the internal version.

why you did it as a twrp backup and not as a flashable zip?
Hello everyone! a question since I'm new to the LG g3 32gb, my question is what method do you recommend for enrraizar and install TWRP,
before I had a galaxy s4 and see that everything is quite different with g3 lg, of course thank you very much

Because I can not do one (because it requires special permissions and I can't manage to get working system.img with the new files. So fastest way (and probably only working is this way) if I'm not wrong a clean install won't boot.

If you have root just download flasher from play store and download a twrp from twrp.me and select the .img with flasher works great
So is this flashable for all variants. I'm on att 850, and would hate to brick my device.

Yes thats fine, simply backup your current ROM in TWRP, then I would wipe and install the new ROM for best results, Try with out wiping first to see if it upgrades ok.

I would recommend not flashing the stock recovery, but it would be a good idea to flash bootloader and radio as well.
Sorry for a potentially dumb question, but is this only for those using Fi? Or will it activate under att just fine?

I assume so yes. I had been testing it on my international Nexus 6 and it connected with all my APN settings with out any issue. Just back up your current ROM first, before you flash., then you can simply restore backup if there are any issues.

Revert to OxygenOS 3.1.0 from HydrogenOS 2.5.1/OxygenOS 3.5.5 made easy

Here is the solution for you guys who have flashed HydrogenOS 2.5.1 or OxygenOS 3.5.5 and want to revert to OxygenOS 3.1.0:
1-Flash HydrogenOS 2.5.1/OxygenOS 3.5.5 and back up it via twrp recovery
2-Download this Nandroid Backup package: https://mega.nz/#!UUUThSqb!ySGhPUYIP6gjPY_M_c9nTvQ3LMhk07LRsCd1LqE5sEE
3-Extract it and put it in the same folder as your twrp back up(Put it where you see the date)
4-Boot to recovery and make a full wipe
5-Restore the Nandroid Backup that you have downloaded above
6-Reboot and Enjoy
With this you will have zero issue. No IMEI2 shows 0 problem, no signal drops, no issue at all.
Just make sure you strictly follow the instruction
Don't forget to press my thanks button
Note: That's not something I just imagine. It's something I did personally and shared it with you.
Tested and worked also for reverting from OxygenOS 3.5.5 to OxygenOS 3.1.0
Thx for the guide, but can I use CM 14.1 after following this guide?

Here is the solution for you guys who have flashed HydrogenOS and want to revert to OxygenOS:
1-Flash HydrogenOS and back up it via twrp recovery

The only issue I'm having is this bizarre problem when I'm disconnected from WiFi my data signal defaults to H+ and not LTE.. I have to cycle airplane mode... It just won't stick to LTE ..

Custom Kernel for the A20 (Android 9 with U2 bootloader)

@Agrim720 has developed a super kernel for the Galaxy A20
For phones running a GSI with the U2 bootloader (June 2019 Firmware)
1. Download the new zimage and hktweaks from here.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=81010583&postcount=144
2. Follow my installation instructions here.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=81013993&postcount=145
The quick way is to download and unzip my new boot.img and install it from TWRP.
View attachment boot.zip
Just have your original patched boot.img ready just in case. If things go wrong, you just need to install your boot.img to get back to where you were.
For phones with the U3-U4 bootloader (late Oct - Nov 2019) @Agrim720 has developed his ripper kernel here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-a20/development/kernel-ripper-kernel-v1-0-t4020627
The stock kernel allocates 2 core at 1.56GHz and 6 cores at 1.352GHz
The super kernel increases the CPU speeds to 2 cores at 2.184GHz and 6 at 1.586GHz
If you want to see the highest frequencies, you need to use hktweaks to set the minimum frequencies to equal the maximum frequencies.
If you don't use hktweaks, it will generally restrict itself to 1.768GHz and 1.482GHz
Big 2080-2184
Small 1352 - 1586
GPU 545-676

I just tried to backup with this kernel in place and it wouldn't backup data.
I had to reflash my patched stock boot.img

its a twrp thing not kernel related.
@physwizz
Can't seem to make it boot up. I followed all your instructions, maybe I have to use a GSI Rom?

Hi @Deluriane
You do NOT need GSI. It will work on any firmware now.
I just did a full Root / Twrp on the latest stock firmware from NOV. [ A205GUBU4ASK2 ] and it worked perfectly.
Just follow the correct guide for U4 and use the correct boot.img (compressed to a tar) and it WILL work :good:
Try it and let us know. :cyclops:

I think the links have been deleted because the kernel doesn't follow the rules

I dont have it installed right now since went back to stock since installing GSI, going to try out the custom kernel, reroot and reinstall TWRP.
Didnt have TWRP before when I tried installing the kernel using Odin, but since Agrim720 released a TWRP and worked on my phone didnt try to install the kernel again.
