Settings - system - developer options - screen lock
The developer options menu is hidden by default, Try this 1 :Unlock your phone and go to Settings.
Step 2 : Under Settings, scroll down and open About phone.
Step 3 : Under About phone, find Build Number and tap seven times on it.
You will get a message on your screen that "you are now a developer"

[Q] Is there a way to disable the secondary lock screen?

Hello,
I'm not sure what the name is for the second lock screen but a lot of times when I try to wake my phone and get to a text message or email or the browser, it wants me to go to a screen where you can probably add some apps but not fully open the phone but I just find that annoying as can be. It has a little plus at the bottom. I NEVER want that I just want to always fully unlock my phone when I swipe the screen.
Is there a way to do that or what am I doing wrong that it brings me to the second lock screen?

Settings > My Devices > Lock Screen
Uncheck "Multiple Widgets"
Also, go into "Lock Screen Widgets" and turn "Favorite apps or Camera" OFF, though the above option should disable this entirely.

[Q] Disable screen lock on G3?

Hello,
I had tried a password, then I switched it to PIN. I realize I don't really want a lock at all but the top option to disable it is greyed out - my only three choices seem to be to switch between PIN, password and patten. I'm guessing there is another place to disable it but I can't find it.
Thanks

Yes - that is the problem the top selection - NONE is greyed out. I can only select between pattern, pin and password.
ALL items but the bottom 3 choices on that screen are greyed out.

You have an application installed that requires a password.
Maybe you have an exchange account and the policies are set, something.
I can disable the password on my phone with no issues.

Thanks - it was foxfi that made me enable the screen lock so I uninstalled foxfi but I still can't disable it.

Go into "Settings"
Then "Security"
Then "Phone Administrators"
Then you will need to deactivate "Foxfi" as a device admin, by selecting it then deactivating it.
If that doesn't work, I'm at a losss.

Thanks - I looked there - I have email - which has always been there and android device manager.
It turns out it was indeed foxfi. I went to security - clear credentials and it worked!!

after each restart my brightness go back to default with auto mark why?

i always turn off the v on the auto brightness cause i love my on the full bright
but every restart i make it turn back to default ?
I too don't like this behavior, particularly because if restarting the phone in poor light conditions the screen is automatically set to a very low brightness.
I'd like to know if this is a bug or it's so by design...
By design. All my mates did this. Don't like either but is what it is.
yup. an issue for me too
This is seriously a Huawei 'feature'? Holy.... :silly:
Possible solution:
Depending on your exact model and restrictions placed on it in your country/territory you should be able to do the following to stop this (VERY!) annoying issue:
1) Turn-off power-saving battery modes if you haven't already
2) Go into 'Settings' then: System -> Developer Options -> there will be an option called "Increase Readability Under Sunlight" -> Toggle this setting to "OFF"
3) Go back to main Settings screen, then "Display" and ensure that "Auto-Adjust" is OFF
This should stop the phone from constantly turning the automatic adjustment back on every time you restart.
NOTE: Some may find that they do not see a "Developer Options" menu within their System settings. If this is you then you MIGHT be able to activate this hidden menu by going into the System section then About Phone, then press/click the "Build Number" part of the screen 7 times in a row.
If this works for you it will pop up with a message such as "you are now an authorised developer"
If you get this kind of message then if you go back to your main System settings screen you should now see the previously hidden 'Developer Options' section
Hope this helps some of you, I had to do this on my new Mate 20 Pro
I really hoped that 146 update solved this problem, but even with all the above settings disabled, after reboot the auto brightness setting always stays ON...
Even more annoying is the dimming within certain apps. When you open Chrome for example, the display dims. And when you close Chrome the display gets brighter (to its original value) again. Haven't found a way to fix this yet. The problem occurs with autobrightness disabled as well as when the autobrightness is enabled. Also with Increase Readability Under Sunlight toggled off.
I'm looking for a fix that stops the dimming when opening certain apps, but let's me be able to keep the autobrightness function on.
I'm not sure if this works, I'm not even sure if the app is called power genie or power genius. But I saw this in a forum.
. non rooted solution will be: adb shell pm uninstall --user 0 com.huawei.powergenie
Try this as for me it is working perfect. Download setting database editor. Install it, after that go to setedit app and find hw_screen_auto_brightness_adj and delete line. Reboot and voila. No more dimming or increase in autobrightness.

Tried this a couple of times, off/on/off on my p30pro, but makes no difference at all, any other ideas for these phones?
I had the same annoying "issue" with my Mate20Pro.
I have an efficient way to solve this.
Just download MacroDroid app, and you can make a macro with these parameters: after turn on do: set brightness to X% and turn off auto adjust.

Thank you for introducing this very useful app
It'd be brilliant if you could provide the exact instruction to do the parameters ... I couldn't figure it out after trying for several times
Cheers
Just stop rebooting your phone. It doesn't need it. Worst case is that you have to enable it after Android updates.

Had exactly the same issue, follow these steps and should work for sure(a little bit long procedure).
1. First of all download this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner&hl=en
2. Give permissions using adb(if you get some security error, make sure to enable usb debugging, plus usb debugging(security settings)
3. After that go inside this app, go to toggles and then press reset
4. Now there will be two pages of toggles, swipe left to access the second page and the last item will be EDIT
There is a faster way.
Go to Setting/Additional settings/Full screen display and toggle "Mirror buttons".

Question Force Full screen for apps and games?

My previous Sony had an option in the Display/Settings for running apps and games to run in full screen.
There is no such option on the Xperia 1 IV. I have several apps and games that are having black bars and not full screen.
What methods are there of forcing apps and games to run full screen???
Immersive mode is broken since Android 11. The only options require root.

It's a shame, I remember with my old Sony Xperia 1 Mark II, there was an option under "display" & then "display apps in full screen, apps that did not display full screen had the option to use full screen as normal.
Also there was an option" double tap to wake" which also appears to be missing in the Xperia IV.

Settings -> Display -> Lock screen preferences -> Tap to show lock screen. See the descriptive text under the option. Doesn't this do that?

You are correct, this option is for the "double tap to wake" option, it's just worded differently than the predecessor, thanks for correcting me.
