Nokia X6 with Custom Oreo ROM - How to load stock Android Pie 6.1 plus image
Hi,
I bought a Nokia X6 in September 2018 (6GB/64GB) and would like to install the Stock Nokia 6.1 Plus Android 9 image.
I see my phone is rooted and it shows the message "Your device has loaded a different operating system." everytime I start it and I have to use Magisk to hide several banking applications.
The phone works great and I knew it was going to be relased in Europe eventually, but I am scared to brick it by loading the Android 9 Image.
I already tried attempting the update through OTA but the zip file is ignored. Nothing happens.
I am new to this forum so I don't know if my question has been asked by someone else.
Can you please help me?
Thank you!

Installing Stock ROM, Magisk and Taking OTA .zips without losing root.

Ah, So You've rooted your 6.1 Plus/X6 but don't know how to Install stock or having troubles with it? I'm here to help!
*All of the instructions and procedures below requires an unlocked bootloader. If you do not have an unlocked bootloader, Please refrain from asking about it here.
*Not having an unlocked bootloader and following this will definitely brick your phone. You have been warned.
Installing Stock ROM - Method 1A(Nost) --
1. Get NOST from here - NOST
2. NOST ONLY SUPPORT OREO FIRMWARE, USE OST LA FOR PIE(Not sharing cause its a patched app, Search on Google and get it from TechMesto)
3. Download unpacked oreo firmware, You can get it from - Here
4. Extract the zip on your PC
5. Put your phone in bootloader mode, Power off - Press Volume Down+Power Button.
6. Now connect it to your PC
7. Open NOST, Select the .mlf file from the folder where you extracted the Firmware
8. Now select, Normal download and Erase User data option.
9. Now click on next and wait for NOST to flash the phone. (It takes 258 seconds or 2.3 - 2.5 minutes on my laptop)
Installing Stock ROM - Method 1B(OST LA) --
Same as NOST, It has the same UI.
Except You might have to change some values in the .mlf file.
An appropriate guide for the same - Here
Installing Stock ROM - Method 2(Hikary's Generic Flashing Script) --
I recommend this method more than NOST and OST LA.
1. Get Hikary's script from - Here
2. Get unpacked Firmware from - Here
3. Extract the Firmware
4. Put the .exe file you got from Github into the folder where you Extracted the firmware
5. Run the script
6. Follow instructions on screen
7. Profit!
Thanks alot to member - Hikary for this easy to use scipt!
You've installed Stock, Now let's add some magisk to it !
*Please disable Automatic System Updates through developer options to make taking OTA .zips easier.
Installing Magisk - Method 1A(Fastboot method) -
You will need Google's ADB drivers, Which you can get - Here/
1. Extract ADB to a Folder
2. Get Magisk patched boot images from - Here Don't worry, Boot images for Nokia 7 Plus will work on DRG(6.1 Plus/X6) and PL2(6.1)
3. Open adb(Type cmd in the address bar of the folder where you extracted adb)
4. Put your device on Download mode
5. type the command
Code:
fastboot boot 'nameofbootimage'.img
6. Now your phone will boot
7. Install Latest Magisk Manger from - [https://www.github.com/topjohnwu/magisk/releases]Here[/url]
8. Open Magisk Manger, You will see Magisk is installed, But there will also be an Install Button next to it. Tap on Install.
9. Let Magisk Install and re-boot the phone
10. Viola Magisk is now permenantly available
Installing Magisk - Method 1B(TWRP method) -
You will need Google's ADB drivers, Which you can get - Here/
1. Get the latest TWRP for 6.1 Plus
2. Get the Latest Magisk Installer from - [https://www.github.com/topjohnwu/magisk/releases]Here[/url]
3. Put the .zip file to your Internal Storage/SD Card
4. Open adb and pass the command
Code:
fastboot boot "nameofrecoveryfile.img"
5. Now TWRP will open on your phone
6. Install Magisk through TWRP
7. Wipe Dalvik
8. Reboot
9. Profit
Now you've got magisk. Follow the next post to see how to take an OTA update with Magisk Installed.
Nokia 6.1 Plus is an Android One certified device. Nokia is no slouch either when it comes to issuing updates. Learn how to take OTA without losing root.
1. Turn of Auto System updates through Developer options
2. Open Magisk Manager
3. Restore Stock Images but don't reboot.
4. Download and install, Let both the steps finish i.e applying update and apps, but don't reboot.
5. Go to magisk manager and select install to inactive slot option
6. Re-boot device.
7. You've not lost root, But have root access.

The simplest way I've found to install Stock Rom is just using adb sideload.
Boot into TWRP and wipe as you would with any custom rom.
Go to advanced and adb sideload.
Send the adb sideload command from your computer with the relevant zip file.
Doesn't require any additional softward like NOST or OST....

It's easy. Get an OTA .zip file, Re-Boot to recovery and flash it. Or Use the ADB Sideload method.
Most likely installing the OTA would fail if the device is rooted because, Magisk will patch the boot.img.
Then I'll need to wait for another update, the September one, right? Because I installed it with ADB and have Magisk installed so I don't really want to mess with it until I have to.

I just took an OTA with Magisk installed it went fine. (September patch)
OK, then it doesn't seem to work. Trying to follow the steps, the system update gives an installation error. I'm guessing that somewhere along the road I've messed something up, so it seems stock rom and Magisk isn't an option for me.

Really? I did the restore via Magisk and that seemed fine, but then the update part didn't work. It downloaded then gave the error so I quit and started again with a fresh installation, minus Magisk.

Have you guys modified the system/vendor partition in any way? If you did, Then it will obviously fail.
@Bluebriz and @Hymix I agree. It's the september security patch causing the installation issue.
It fails for me no matter what, Unless I completely un-root. But this method works perfectly fine on the August update.
Lets see for the October patch.
Okay, I can specifically narrow this down to way the September patch. The september patch requires the August security patch as a precondition to install. And that's where something funky is happening.
Guys a quick update. October update has been released but it also fails to install. This time I've managed to find the cause, Apparently some service that needs to be used for the update is being blocked/used by Magisk. (I could be wrong here)
The error code according to the recovery is 20(kDownloadStateInitializationError)
Is there any update to this issue?
Tried removing Magisk, didn't help.
Yesterday I got November security update ..iam using magisk...so it is showing installation problem...I tried in recovery and ADB method both didn't work.. finally I ended in bootloop ...so I again installed stock ROM...any solution is there without resetting each time how to install security updates..coz each time my data balance was wasted??

Finally unlock/rooting guide for Samsung A01 SMA015F

After a couple of months of deep research I have managed to find a solution to unlock bootloader and root our SMAO15F device.
1st step: If your on android 10 it's possible to unlock bootloader even if our device has that option by default.
Fortunately with the newly released of official android 11 we are able to do so all you gotta do is you have to jump to android 11 if you're still on android Q then proceed to the unlocking method.
2nd step: after bootloader unlock download this .tar file (patched boot image for android 11 samsung sma015f).
Final process: Go to download mode, open latest odin and import the attached file with the AP button, phone will automatically restart after the process or restart it manually if not,
voila our samsung a01 is now rooted without twrp. Now we just have to wait for someone to make a custom twrp for our device or wait for official twrp or kindly please let me know if there is.

How To Root Samsung A01 (a015f/DS)
Hello, I want to ask how to root samsung galaxy a01 (a015f) , i want to instal f.lux for better blue light filter, Thanks!
forum.xda-developers.com
Thank you very much
1. Unlock your bootloader enter in download mode Vol+ + Vol- + USB conected to pc (Keep in mind that by doing this you will lose your files, it is advisable to make a backup of your photos, music, etc.)
2. Once you start your cell phone install magisk manager, Choosing the boot.img file of your rom into the app (Tip: Only!!! If your model is SM-A015M Android 11 I leave you my own modified boot.img to flash:
File on MEGA
mega.nz
Otherwise, you can download the firmware (3.79 gb) and extract the boot.img from the firmware of your model SM-A015 M / F ... Android 10, Android 11... etc. And No need for pc
https://samfrew.com/model/SM-A015M/
3. The image will begin to flash
4. When it restarts you will have Root on the cell phone!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Extra: If you need the custom recovery I give you the link with my TWRP which is installed through the Odin program on a PC (this step does not delete your files)
File on MEGA
mega.nz
Keep in mind that to install TWRP you must deactivate the DM-VERITY & FORCEENCRYPT DISABLER I leave it in a link:
Zackptg5 - Android
zackptg5.com
This is a module that can be installed via magisk, which is necessary to decrypt the system ... so once TWRP is installed, it is advisable to uninstall it via Magisk to avoid R / W errors

after flashing the AP, the phone won't boot and says can't load android system.
edit: i patched my own AP with Magisk and it worked.
So i managed to upgrade my samsung a01m/ds to android 11 & i had unlocked the bootloader. Afterwards i had use the magisk rooting process, then flashed a boot.img that i had extracted from firmware (if needed i will upload) then the phone restated and took like 7 minutes to start, having said that i setup my device but upon doing so i noticed i was not able to use wifi but i had mobile data , managed to get in and install root checker pro and i had root but there was root( will leave an image ) but i didn't enjoy the fact that the wifi was not working, my hotspot wasn't working. i never managed to install TWRP becuase i was tampering a little more and trip my knox. it's been like 2 months since it trip and the OEM UNLOCKING in developer options is yet to be visible so i can unlock the oem and start a fesh.

I managed to root my phone using this method but after I rooted, my wifi was stuck at turning on. I would then restore it to its stock firmware to have the wifi back and it did, but then I rooted again and wifi got stuck again. How do I fix this problem?

Guide: Installing TWRP and Custom Roms on RealmeUI 2.0

The bootloader cannot be unlocked in RealmeUI 2.0 on Realme 7 (RMX2151 INDIA) as of now (09-August-2021). The only way to install any ROM/Recovery is to downgrade to the previous version and unlocking the bootloader. The procedure is as follows: (Tested on Realme RMX2151)
Download Android 10 (RealmeUI 1.0 based firmware from here: https://c.realme.com/in/post-details/1415972132185292800)
To be on the Safer Side go to developer options (Tap on build number 5-10 times) and enable USB Debugging.
Shutdown the phone and enter into recovery by holding the power and volume down key for 5-10 seconds) DATA WILL BE WIPED AFTER THIS
Tap on English > Install from Storage > From Phone Storage and select the package.
In around 2-3 minutes Android 10 based stock ROM will be flashed.
Again go to developer options and enable both USB Debugging and OEM Unlocking.
Download in-depth apk and install it on the phone. XDA Forum
Open InDepth APK, Start Applying. Wait for the "review successful".
use the guide in step 7 to boot into fastboot and unlock the bootloader.
Steps to unlock bootloader: Open CMD in the pc to run ADB and fastboot. Type: 1. adb reboot bootloader 2. fastboot devices 3. fastboot flashing unlock 4. fastboot reboot
In case the phone is stuck after fastboot flashing unlock, just restart the recovery by pressing power and volume down together and restart the phone.
Check bootloader status in the developer options.

You can install any recovery. Just follow the same procedure and change the recovery file.
Press Power and Volume down button together as soon as you type fastboot reboot to open the recovery.
Recovery will get reset if you restart the phone. In this case, use Step 13 to reinstall the recovery.
Once in recovery, you can connect to the PC to copy any ROM and install it. It is recommended to use an SD Card.
I am creating this post because none of the available posts in XDA is telling about bootloader unlock in RealmeUI 2.0. I have unlocked the bootloader and flashed a customer ROM on my Realme 7 using this same procedure.
Let me know in case of any doubts.
what recovery you're using? some of them doesn't work on rui 2.0, some others aren't stable enough (unofficial build). also, did you update to rui2.0 again after all of this step?? i managed to get bootloader unlocked on rui2.0 by using mtkclient, downgrade is unnecessary. by using mtkclient you wouldn't get fastboot mode since in depth testing apk also verify to unlock fastboot mode. simply read mtkclient readme file if you wish to unlock.. or I'll make one here
