Is There Any Android P ROM For Redmi Note 3 Having SELinux Set to Enforcing? - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

All of ROMs based on Android Pie for kenzo I’ve tried so far have SELinux set to permissive. There was a time when even Oreo ROMs didn’t have SELinux enforcing, but later on developers had fixed it. As of now, I didn’t even find a single Android P official custom ROM having SELinux set to Enforcing.
Did anyone find any official Pie ROM having SELinux set to enforcing?

So u take ur security seriously. But u dont have problem in rooting ur phone.
Just think Why all custom roms today are not prerooted ?
But u keep on crying on every thread for selinux . have u read whats the actual function of selinux and how it works and where its useful. Do u install apk files from untrusted sources from untusted sites??
Even privacy guard can protect ur userspace. Today Most of custom roms have privacy guard.
Understanding Selinux his huge work. Only OEM devs like xiaomi devs who are professional and paid by comapnies knows how to write the SEPOLICY. Custom devs here dont have that much spare time.
And who told u citrus released by Adarsh is unofficial ?

Having SELinux permissive blocks the use of banking apps. Turning off Google Play services' phone permission may make them work. But if you use Google Maps, you’re certainly gonna notice a message “Google Maps is having trouble, turn on phone permission of Google Play services”.
That’s the reason, I’m not using any Pie ROM.
And I wouldn’t want to use an outdated rom having bugs made by a dev who’s passed away. We all know everyone wants SELinux Enforcing in Pie ROMs.

Nobody asked for your opinion. He simply asked about the ROMs which have se Linux permissive. You can name the ROMs or GTFO.

[Q] Custom kernal that has knox disabled and SELinux in permissive mode?

Hi all, is there a custom kernel that has Knox disabled and SELinux in permissive mode by default? I cant seem to find one, and I need it to use my S5 with AppRadio2.

No kernel can fully disable knox. In the S5 it is a hardware function that is built in. As of this time there is no way to root or modify the system without tripping knox. All the custom roms do have knox fully disabled in the system and removed though.

I am using Project Infinity and it appears that even with Wanam Xposed, i still cant disable SEAndroid or disable knox notifications, even when enabled. Specifically I'm trying to allow the device to send bluetooth commands to my appradio.

Also willing to donate $20 to the person who helps me get this done!
Have tried the following

setenforce 0
init.d script
Phone is rooted and currently on NE9 running jasmine rom.
trying to flash a custom kernel but i think im doing it wrong, kernel version isnt chaning... not seeing much kernel support for the G900V either...
Thanks,
I am also willing to donate for a step by step way to get my tmobile s5 and arliberator and appradio 2. Glad I found this thread thought I was only one with problem. I have not done any rooting yet and scared to do it. Love stock rom if i can keep it that would be awesome. Again willing to donate...
I'm willing to donate before I get help if that helps... I need to root without triping Knox or have a app that sets it to 0 like triangle way did with my s3 and my Samsung note 10.1 2012. Thanks again

Unfortunately it's not looking very likely that a knox counter reset will be found anytime soon. I've been scouring the internets for a solution as well.
Does anyone know if you can screen mirror with the AEL kernel and SELinux set to permissive on the S5?
Looking for that info as well

Glad to hear you made it work!
We know you must be very busy but if you could give us 5 mins that would be great! We are all wondering what did you do to make it work. We have few questions.
1. Which Custom Rom are you using? Could you please share that Custom Rom with us with the LINK ?
2. You said you flashed the AEL Kernel. How do you flash a Kernel? And where can we find it?
Also, did you face any issue after installing the custom rom and AEL Kernel? Please let us know.

You should probably do some research on the forums on flashing a custom kernel. There's lots of info out there and I wouldn't recommend wading into those waters until you thoroughly acquaint yourself with the risks and benefits of making such modifications. In brief though you generally flash a kernel with a similar method you use to flashing a custom rom. Like I said be careful though. If you flash the wrong kernel for your device you might end up with a paperweight composed of equal parts plastic glass and aluminum.
With regards to this whole selinux permissive issue: I have been emailing back and forth with the developer of appradio unchained reloaded (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mars.area51.arunchained&hl=en) and he told me he is trying to design a work-around for the selinux permissive requirement. It sounds like it's still in the early stages but we can hope.
I would be happy with just a stock rom and a kernal that sets selinux to permissive.. don't care about Knox anymore

Thanks for getting back to me. I did some research as you suggested and I have some update on this. I wanted to share with everyone here who might be trying to do the same thing like me.
I was able to Disable the KNOX and set SE to permissive. I used Omega v11 Custom for this. Omega v11 does the both requirements we are looking for. It Disables KNOX and set SE to Permissive. But first I flashed a recovery using "Philz Touch". Then from the recovery i installed the Omega Zip file. Everything went smoothly and i was ready to connect my phone to the appradio 3.
First I download the ARUnchained Reloded App from google play. Then connected my phone to the Samsung Adapter which is also connected to the Pioneer CD-AH200 cables going back of my AppRadio 3 (DA210) HDMI port. When you connect your phone to the adapter 2(two) apps will become visible. APPs and Pandora button. When I run the app ARUnchained it takes me to the home screen where you will find START, STOP and HOME button. Before i pressed the START on ARU, i went to my HU( Head Unit) and clicked on the APP option. It showed me a Message telling me to make sure i am connected to the Bluetooth and I have appradio App installed by Pioneer. I clicked on Ignore since my HU was connected to the bluetooth already. I didnt install Appradio App since i don't need that. Then it showed me an warning sign telling me not to watch video while driving and put my car on Park. So I have a bypass installed which allows me not to do all those crazy stuff. After switching the bypass on another message screen comes off and i simply clicked on OK.
Now i was mirroring my phone on the HU. I went to ARUnchained app and clicked on Start and nothing happens. Top left side of the phone on notification panel shows letter "R" with "x" sign on top of it. I believe it means HU couldn't connect to the ARU. Also its showing "Listening for Connection" on the screen. I tried moving the screen on HU but it gives me that hand with X sign.
Question is What am i doing wrong? And why is it not working? I went to ARU diagnostics and almost all the options are checked except "Installed as system app" and "Can switch mock locations". Do you think these two options has to be checked as well? If you have ARU, what does it show for you under setting > Diagnostics ? Please let me know.
I made a video on youtube showing whatever i just mentioned here. That might help you to understand better what is happening with my configuration.
Please help me out here and i promise if i can make this work, i will do a step by step HOW TO youtube video on this matter and i am pretty sure we all want to see solve this issue as well.
Video : Since i cannot share video here, look for a video with title "AppRadio ARUnchained Issue" by RockOnRay.

Hey guys..I am back...I had been testing my build from 2 days and found out something really very annoying. After chainfire released so called systemless root, majority of the apps which we use have lost its functionality. Titanium backup, ad blocker,SE Linux changer blah blah ...I tried all of them but all failed. So under such circumstances these app developers must release support for systemless root ...I heard you had to change enforcing to permissive for SE Linux status for getting root work on marshmallow but I had been searching High and low, trying all methods but alas I failed.. I will upload the build tommorow. Its very stable, deodexed, zip aligned, and debloated yet stable root is missing. Basic root functions works. So if anyone knows how to get a permanent root for marshmallow pls inform me.it would be of great help. I will make the official thread in development once this problem is fixed.

but i just need one thing, i wanna install dolby atmos or viper4android, and i need my SELINUX to be set Permissive permanently
please i search a lot of threads but didn't find yet the best way to make it Permissive Permanently, please give me the best way to fix that thing !

Well that doesn't seems the whole truth to me . :silly:
1)Anyways if u have magisk installed then flash the below zip and it will set selinux to permissive .
2)Also there is a terminal method to do that ,but it is not permanent so I m not writing it here .
3)Also there are ROMs like AICP that gives you the option to change selinux mode .
4) Also tere is an app available called as "selinux mode changer " which should also do the work (not tested by me tho )
5) Also u can use kernel aduitor to change mode
"0"= permissive
"1"= enforcing
U will find the selinux thing under TOOLS>build prop editor in kenrl aduitor .
Hope this is enough for now .thank you
thank you man, i did magisk method, unroot all supersu, and reroot using magisk

Huawei could block the installation of magisk

Hi, i read this notice
https://twitter.com/topjohnwu/status/1032673806622617600
I'm furious, i bought Honor View 10 for modding, because Honor had to give the phone to many developers for expand the modding on their devices. Then first Huawei stop the possibility to unlock bootloader and now stop the possibility to have root also?
It's incredible, Huawei/Honor should repay who bought the device before their decision to stop the modding scene.
Honor clearly didnt work closely with Huawei when it comes to that modding/rooting related stuff
after Honor dev program they locked bl's for good, and now trying to prevent ROOT by adding system app to check for Root then force remove it or stop it
hopefully we can find a work around it :\

But this is not fair, many of us bought a huawei device for modding, and now we are stucked with no options to reclaim anyting, Honor View 10 in my case has cost me around of 500€, took time for me to get this money (part time job, studing, and living alone), it's hard for me to believe that the reply of Huawei is deal with it, good luck next time loser.
This tweet was pertaining to a Chinese variant. @MishaalRahman with XDA is investigating, as there is no official word if this sort of update is coming to other regions or even the US. This may have been done by mistake as well.
There have been other Chinese variants that have received a "patch1" type update, but has been confirmed those other updates are bug fixes and are not rooted related.
I'm sure XDA will make a write up to clarify if/when there is more info

Your complaints will do absolutely nothing on XDA ... contact your local Huawei dealership or post pubically on their social media pages like Facebook or Twitter. Only if it's made public (by enough people) will there be even the slightest chance of them changing their @&%$§!* new policies.
The View 10 seemed so promising earlier this year which is why I bought it ... my first and at this rate definitely my LAST ever Huawei device

Yes i can, in fact i have disable update app from Titanium backup, and Yes i can flash custom rom. But the modding scene is not really good, first we don't have a twrp 100% working and for me slowly the modding will be abandoned because nobody will buy Huawei or Honor.

Substratum works great because RR has all the commits that are needed.
Xposed isn't officially supported (by pretty much ANY custom rom), so no idea if it works ... I never had the need to use it myself

Plenty of substratum themes do that already though, no need for xposed just for that.
See you in the Openkirin Telegram group
have they started doing this yet? i usr this command to flash twrp and it says it worked it will go into twrp for like 10 sec and reboot to fastboot.... fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk TWRP.img yes thats what my twrp is named
The original person who reported on this new "patch1" update to the ramdisk is still testing to see whether it's an intentional feature to block root, or if Magisk no longer working is just a side effect to ramdisk changes. We're waiting to see the results of their testing.
is there a software version to see if my phone possibly has it on it?

Does google pay work on Poco after rooting

I'm on stock MIUI 10.2 Pie right now. I wanted to stay on this ROM only since it's pretty stable however wanted root to enable adblocking and viper4android.
I wanted to know, if I could still use Google Pay after root. Is Magisk Hide on latest version able to do that ? Any users from India, please let me know..
Yes but for that you have to turn off 'telephone' permission of google play services

Flash Pixel experience ROM, but don't root it. I mean use it as it is without flashing magisk. Every banking app will work fine.
However, if you want to use magisk hide then-
Phonepe - working
Paytm - working
Bhim - working
Google pay / Tez - not working.
Yes you can use the Tez app after disabling telephone permission. But you will not be able to make any transactions from your side. However, you can receive transactions from other people.

Yes first of all hide the google pay account from Magisk hide. then go to installed app and select show system app from three dotted line on near right status bar and find google play services.
Disable permission of play service on telephone, contact, call logs and then reboot your phone.
Now you can enjoy google pay on your device.:good:

In India, Google pay works with bank IDs called upi rather than NFC.
Yes, use Magisk & then use module MagiskHide Props Config. I used the above method on Xperia XZ & Google Pay worked again, even via NFC.

Would I need such a thing if I can already pass SafetyNet checks?

I'm on stock MIUI 10.2 Pie right now. I wanted to stay on this ROM only since it's pretty stable however wanted root to enable adblocking and viper4android.
I wanted to know, if I could still use Google Pay after root. Is Magisk Hide on latest version able to do that ? Any users from India, please let me know..

I'm not too sure on that one, I'm in the same boat with my Pocophone at the moment as it shows that it passed safetynet, but some apps still see that I'm rooted. Give it a try if you have trouble with some apps.
