Hi folks,
I've installed v153 two days ago on my P30 Pro 256GB (VOG-L29C431) using the FunkyHuawei HiSuite method.
My impressions of the v153 after 48hrs are:
Way better battery life, I got around +30% more SOT in compare to the previous version (124)
Camera has been improved, and i'm not talking about the new 'Dual View' or the 'Super Portrait' modes that were introduced on this version, I'm talking about the fine-detail of both the RAW and JPEG compressed images alike! With the previous 124 version my output JPEG's taken with the 40MP camera weighted around ~5-9MB, now with the 153 version, the averge JPEG size is around 8-10MB (RAW remained on ~80MB) which indicates more details are captured. I also used Adobe Lightroom on the RAW output and using the auto-tuning there, I was able to tweak the RAW images into a whole new level.
FP sensor seems a bit quicker, not that I had any problems with the previous version.
I remember I had a bug with Youtube and Facebook videos, when sometimes the video controls got stuck on the overlay and refused to disappear no matter what I did, the only solution was to FC the app and re-open it again. So far so good - didn't happened anymore.
Please share your impressions of the 153 version here.

Any camera improvements like being able to save settings, selecting which mode to start up in, burst mode with raw files, setting a minimum shutterspeed?
What about white balance? did they fix the ryyb weird color tone?

It won't get resolved as it's intentional on Huawei's part, so no resolution is necessary
On v153, the camera version is 9.1.0.306.
There's a whole thread in a chinese forum (club.huawei.com) about the new version and people seems to like it alot!

Some of the photos from the linked thread were taken using Mate10/Mate20 phones and not necessarily using P30 Pro, but this fact is meaningless as the camera software is shared among most of the models.

Yes that's the correct method. Using funkyhuawei's hisuite method wont wipe your data. USB OTG one does.

Contacted my ZTE source about the bugs still being there. It seems quite clear that it is software bugs and really does seem like they are working on it so i suggest dont return your phones, just be patient for more software updates

Installed and testing. First thing i noticed is that the Lockscreen wallpaper bug is fixed.
"Back up the data and APPs in your phone by using the built-in Backup function. To enable the built-in Backup function of your phone (an SD card must be inserted), select Backup and Restore from the main menu"

The OP mentioned "B02", not "B20". Typo?
Anyway, the B20 for the US version was only ~80MB. The OP reports 2GB for this one. Sounds like the difference between a standard OTA update and full image. Not sure why they'd do a full image update, but some companies have/do.

No Info about bootloader yet. Stock launcher still without app drawer, but honestly, try Nova or Action launcher. I´d even use these with stock android.

Ah, makes sense. Still...big update. I assume it was a full image.
I used Google maps for my navigation for the 1st time yesterday and was shocked how jerky and un smooth the whole experience was, like the FPS was very low. Anyone else had this and is there anyway to solve this?
What FW are you on? It got loads better for me after the update from 119 to 126.
I have disabled picture in picture for gmaps and it does seem better
Settings>apps& notification>apps>settings>special access>picture-in-picture

It's jerky for me only on the private space user not the regular space user mi use maps go on PrivateSpace user now. Good luck.

In my case it affects Wifi calling!
Now I've found the time to do a full reset. Wifi calling is working again. Thanks @fregor!!!

Hello, I have updated my honor 9 to both android and emui 8 and since than the first card in gallery app that is named Photos has not updated with a single photo I have taken with phone's original camera app nor a screenshot even tho they all show up in the card Albums in their folders. Is anyone experiencing this issue as well?

I'm having the same issue. I can see my photos are still there, via a file manager, but cannot access them through Gallery any more (only new photos taken since the update). Also these photos are no longer available in other apps either (like Instagram). Would love to know a fix for this. Thx.

A simple reboot restored all the missing folders for me. I love/hate when it's just that simple.
So honor have pretty much failed to impress me with their software updates and as we all know EIS is still missing from the phone... But Who cares..? Google let's u edit and stabilize videos so that was sufficient.... BUT am getting unable to save the Stabalized videos....
Like u open Google photos>select video >edit>Stabalize>let the app do its thing and click save... Click save... Its not working
Is anyone else is also facing the problem, kindly check and let me know... Very frustrating to be honest
I can even view Stabalized videos... But not save them... No problem with pics edit

Is there a solution for this? In my S7 Edge i can stabilize videos without problems but the Mate10 simply can´t do it. Have been pass throught very updates of the phone and even the app but the problem still the same.

Yes I got the EIS update too but the Google photos problem is still not solved

i've used a p30 pro in the store, all i can say is the gesture navigation feels more fluidly .... can't say how but it feels more snappy as on my mate 20 pro.

It depends on the compatibility between the 2 file systems involved (maybe not completely different...)
For example, about 15 years ago, starting from Windows XP, people was able to convert FAT or FAT32 disks to NTFS without reformatting issuing a simple DOS command:
convert drive: /fs:ntfs

Yes, third party app notifications are instant, BUT they don't provide a summary AND they cannot be removed from the lockscreen with a swipe. If they can be changed, I haven't figured it out yet.
Camera AI can now be turned on or off. I like that. The AI also seems to be faster.
IMO, I could take or leave this update.

As for other new features, I haven't found them. Honestly, I want to roll back. The notifications thing really bothers me. Even on the drop down menu, third party notifications cannot be swiped away. You have to open the app to remove the notification. It sucks.
BTW, the Chinese update added FIVE bloatware programs, including a karaoke app, a browser, a news service, and a couple others I couldn't figure out. Thankfully, they were deleatable.

Was looking forward to the 3rd part notifications mostly. Any way can so a image of the screen. I understand can't take a screen shot of locks reen I don't think anyway. But wouod be cool. To see. Cheers
