Root Magisk 19.2 Xiaomi.eu 9.5.16 EX Kernel Manager 415k AnTuTu Google Pay Working - Xiaomi Mi 9 Guides, News, & Discussion

Sorry for the terse directions you can find them already on XDA... Note this is many hours of work and I believe EVERYTHING is working!!!
Unlock BL through Xiaomi app (15 day wait) http://en.miui.com/unlock/
If you need a guide to show you how to flash everything this post is helpful, just use the right TWRP and ROM and Magisk etc. from below: https://forum.xda-developers.com/Mi-9/how-to/guide-how-flashed-twrp-xiaomi-eu-rom-t3912952
Install TWRP 0524 if you can find it, fully working backups / restore with encryption:https://mega.nz/#!CVVHAIIJ!M97UbdQBfw6Pe6_n4U7khEw9KaHkbz71n_8oubvnX40
Download and flash Xiaomi.eu 9.6.5 weekly [or latest] ROM https://sourceforge.net/projects/xiaomi-eu-multilang-miui-roms/files/xiaomi.eu/MIUI-WEEKLY-RELEASES/
Install Magisk 19.3 via TWRP, enable Root https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
Install latest Magisk Manager from above link
Magisk hide everything related to banking apps, trading apps, Google, etc.
Hide Magisk in a random folder (it has a setting to randomize it's location)
Install EX Kernel Manager (Playstore) and FK Manager if you want it
Go into EX Kernel Manager, select Graphics. Pick max GPU frequency 810mhz (you'll need to do this after every reboot - it won't stick even if you select to load on boot - unless you buy FK Kernel Manager use it ONLY to set GPU to 810mhz at boot and to switch cores off under CPU when you need to save power)... In EX Manager,
go to Tools / CPU Governer. Select Little Cluster. Click hispeed_freq and select the max. Then click hispeed_load and set to 5. Next select Big Cluster and do the same. Save this profile as "myprofile" or any name and select Apply on boot (blue button on the right). The 5 setting is from me playing around with different random #s I think 90 is default. If you find a better number please post here. The memory score will go up in AnTuTu when you have a good value. Also under memory, change ZRAM to 1GB with LZO etc. see pics.
This setup is giving around 415k on AnTuTu consistently. Another note - TURN OFF XIAOMI CLOUD AUTO SYNC in settings! You can leave find my phone on. After many updates I found this drops the score quite a bit! Also under Settings / Google / Location switch to internal GPS. This also saves a lot of battery although Google Maps will complain a few times eventually it will work.
Google Pay part:
Note a recent GMS update requires a new procedure https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/magisk-google-pay-gms-17-1-22-pie-t3929950)
I also only allowed via settings / apps / Other Permissions Google Pay access to NFC. Normal permissions only Location is allowed. Use HCE wallet setting for NFC payments. SIM wallet is apparently for other countries with train tickets etc.
FK Manager is shown below with the 810mhz set on boot and core control under CPU cores. You can turn off the middle 4 cores for about 5% better than stock performance and normal battery life! That's how I use my phone usually unless I'm playing a game.
Enjoy!

Thanks! :good:
Why 17.1 btw? Also, you should format /data as TWRP does not support decrypting yet. Or i don't know at this point...

Yeah I said I was being terse leaving stuff out elsewhere on XDA like you mentioned remove encryption with TWRP etc. 19.1 is the newest Magisk I just used the newest version of everything I could, sorry 17.1 typo was from memory...

*#*#8106#*#* also give max gpu boost.
With reboot also lost.

Google Pay part:
I used this sequence: Magisk hide Google Pay, Google Play Services, Google Services Framework, com.google.android.gms.policy, com.google.android.gms.setup, delete: data/data/com.google.android.gms GMS folder, go to Setting/Apps and clear cache then data for both Google Play Services (version 16.0.91) and Google Pay (version 2.86.243324902), uninstall Google Pay, reinstall, hide Google Pay again in Magisk, reboot. Now it will let you add cards. I also only allowed via settings / apps / Other Permissions Google Pay access to NFC. Normal permissions only Location is allowed.

Also at data/data/ there is no such folder. But only folder there is Titanium Backup.
I followed the rest of the steps but still ended up with GPay not working

You need to use a file manager with Root access to see the GMS folder. Otherwise it won't display anything. I use "Root Browser" from Google Play. There are others that are free. Try again with a file manager that says ROOT next to it in the Play Store and be sure to give it Root access when prompted. Then reboot after deleting the GMS folder. It should let you add cards provided it's Magisk hidden. FYI Google Pay is the hardest part of setting up the device on any Rooted phone. But if you follow my steps one by one it should work.

Google pay works as well? Is that score consistent? On the Xiaomi.eu it is really consistent and doesn't seem to matter what apps are open or the battery life left. I heard RevOS is even more stripped down than Xiaomi.eu
Also curious if there is a way to change mem settings without root on RevOS then you could get up another 10k or so

With my Mix 3 and Mi 8 I had some great experiences with Xiaomi.eu compared to Global, but with my Mi 9 Xiaomi.eu is quite buggy like the fingerprint on standby, standby drain (for me just as bad as with global)
ROS is much better in my opinion, no lag, very consistent performance and battery with very little standby drain.
Not sure about the mem settings, I normally dont do any rooting or overclocks but saw this and wanted to try.
Also not sure about Google Pay, we don't have Google Pay here in the Netherlands, but we have own banking apps instead with mobile wallets which work fine.

Yeah Xiaomi.eu has standby drain for some reason. Not sure how to fix it.
So far Google Pay still works. Only annoying thing is the AI button being based on a China ROM you have to keep down to do Google Assistant or press the talk button after hitting the AI button. No Hey Google either. I don't really use that but nice to have all features working...

Just use RevOS. 0.3%/hr standby drain. Good support, instead of mass development with always the same excuses, it's a Xiaomi thing.

is there a way to activate pro without playstore?

I bought pro a long time ago and it's one of the first app i install on a new device. However I have now of privacy and battery life related reasons gone away from Google services completely. I did a backup of the donation package and restored it. It says activated but I get error message later on,(see pic) Any other way to activate pro? (cm 12.1,lp5. 1,rooted,xposed)

I have already answered your query in the other thread. In addition, uninstall the donation pack and reinstall from Play Store, not from backup.
Or do you mean that you don't have Play Store?
Yeah I don't have playstore or Google services at all. Only blankstore so I can download non payed apps from play. Too bad it's not possible to verify some other way... Thanks anyway
The only way is to have google to verify it.

I have requested this in the past, but the developer didn't respond. I don't have GApps installed either and Greenify doesn't work. Now I have to search cracked versions from to dark corners of the internet, for an app I've paid for.
The donation package has this permission, in my opinion it should be removed:
com.android.vending.CHECK_LICENSE
No its shouldn't for 2 people that don't have gapps. There are way more who try to find it in "the dark corners".

1. a lot more than 2 people have chosen not to install the spying, badly written, battery draining gms. And numbers are growing
2. Proprietary is bad, open source good in 99% of cases.
3. Depending on Gms is often completely unnecessary, apps can use open source alternatives instead. Alternatives exist to stop piracy. I use some apps that uses other ways. Like xprivacy for instance.

Check out microG: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-microg-gmscore-floss-play-services-t3217616
Greenify should then work. You can use Raccoon on your computer to download apps, including paid ones.
hey,
get microG gmscore by Marvin and Amplify.
Easiest way to solve things.
Greenify should be in XDA-Labs
Thanks for the tips. Will try racoon. Tried gmscore before had some issues and now I have gotten used to the good batterystats found replacements for everything that needed Google except greenify

Camera problem and general advice

Hi all! I bought the X820 for my girlfriend and I arrived some days ago.
I installed Mokee and SlimROM and both have the same problem: If I pinch to zoom, from the beginning of zoom slider until almost the end, the displayed image is not correct (anfter taking the photo, the saved image is correct).
I don't know if this is a bug of certain roms, a misconfiguration of my setup... I just realized that the problem disappears if image resolution is changed to anythind 16:9. Once again, idk if this is a known issue or not, you tell me.
Other thing I'd like to ask is what is the best rom in you opinion. As I said before, I have installed Mokee and SlimROM so far. I'd like to know what's the most stable and battery friendly rom.
Thank you!
Heyyo, that digital zoom bug is present on custom Nougat and Oreo ROMs for many camera apps. I'm unsure if it's because they enforce camera HAL2 when LeEco never updated to it or if it's the camera shims.
Certain camera apps though don't suffer this issue such as CAMU... So yeah, it's an odd bug.
For most stable and battery friendly? I'd say OmniROM Nougat is definitely that since the focus of OmniROM Nougat is stability and it is pretty decent for battery life, especially if you use Greenify with root and APK profiles such as Project X.A.N.A. battery.
Otherwise? SlimRoms has been pretty darn good for a balance of stability, battery and performance.

Oh also if she wants apps that require passing SafetyNet checks? You'll want to install Magisk 14.3 and Universal SafetyNet fix for the Le Max 2.
I know 14.5 is latest but it's a bit experimental since it has some major changes which still require testing hence I recommend 14.3 or 14.0 stable.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/beta-magisk-v13-0-0980cb6-t3618589
After Magisk is flashed via TWRP? Reboot into your ROM and then reboot to TWRP and flash this Magisk module
https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-max-2/themes/magisk-how-to-pass-safetynet-check-t3617017/amp/
Now Google Play Store should show under settings that the device is certified.
Example of apps that require SafetyNet is Nintendo apps and Netflix. There's other games and apps that also require it but not 100% sure which ones but a Google search should reveal a list.

I installed 14.5 and she is using only Netflix (I mean apps that require SafetyNet). I only had to hide root using Magisk Hide and it works fine. IDK if it's just Netflix what is needed to be hidden or other Android apps too but I hid some Android things (Android Shared Library and others) and now even Play Store reports as "Certified" (sadly Magisk doesn't pass SafetyNet test D: )

[MOD] [DEBLOAT] Delete redundant Stock Apps using TWRP

This is a flashable zip to delete all unnecessary stock apps using custom recovery.
You must have TWRP/RWRP installed (Guide to achieve this is HERE).
This zip is usable for both Stock and Custom ROMs.
Benefits :
More system space.
Better battery.
Cleaner app drawer.
List of apps removed :
Asus Service Center
Asus Calculator
Bloatware apps (Babe,Lazada,Shopee)
Facebook
Go2Pay
Google Calender
Google Drive
Google Duo
Google Mail
Google Maps
Google Messeging
Google Movies and TV
Google Music
Google Photos
Google Search
Instagram
Redundant wallpapers
YouTube
To install,
Download attached Debloat script.
Backup Data and everything else necessary.
REMEMBER this is tested on my primary device but the risk is entirely yours if you try this.
I will try to help in case of issues.
If on Android Pie then first mount /system partition in TWRP.
Flash via Recovery (nothing to be cleaned after flash)
Reboot.
If you see any of the above system app in app drawer after flashing this - then it is left due to App updates. You can uninstall them like a regular app and they won't bother you again.
Please create single file with Aroma support so people can decide what they want to uninstall.
Just a request

I'm having problem with multi touch, it's annoying when playing games.
And sometimes my phone took so long to charge. I tried using stock adapter, and ugreen with quick charge 3.0. But still doesn't make any difference. So i think it's software related issue.
Can you make a fix for these problem? Like custom kernel so it can charge faster?

I can work on with the help of similar fix used in Pixel phones. A magisk based solution but it will be fixed officially with next OTA containing June security patch so not worth the effort.

WebView is just an additional app for me .. I use Chrome Dev which can provide me WebView.
I use Google Inbox and user should have an ability to remove this app.
Calendar plugin is just an addon for people who do not use Google Calendar to keep track of shedules.
It's all personal opinion and most of the apps are available in PlayStore so you have the alternate to install the apps as user apps.

Look for Suggestions - Custom ROMs / STOCK + MAGISK

First off, T-Mobile version H932 rooted with bootloader unlocked and TWRP installed.
I was a long time user of Cyanogenmod/Lineage on other platforms in the past and overall prefer AOSP based ROMS that are close to stock. So, I have tried PixelExperience, Lineage, and LiquidRemix on my V30. I like them all but overall I like LiquidRemix the best mostly due to some of the LiquidLounge options.
However, I have 3 things I miss. I could probably do without them but I think my overall usefulness of the phone is better when I have them.
1. WiFi Calling - I have poor coverage in my office until TMO deploys Band 12 or Band 71 in my area. Not on schedule for almost a year yet.
2. OK Google support. I have tried numerous things to get this working on all 3 of the custom roms but it simply does not. Sounds like a MIC volume issue currently in all AOSP based ROMS on the V30. I use Android Auto (with a headunit) and not having this is kind of a pain.
3. Google Pay NFC support. I installed Magisk on all 3 custom ROMS but never could get it to fully pass all the safetynet checks.
As for running Stock. I know it would fix 1&2 above, but if I kept the device rooted and bootloader unlocked I am not sure #3 would be fixed. However, I can deal with that. What I hate about LG Stock overall is the interface, all their crap, and especially their dialer. I previously was side loading APK version of Google Dialer but it is missing the SPAM features and such unless you can flash it. I also sideloaded a pixel launcher and GCAM. But the dialer thing was always a pain.
I am going to try the debloated/magisk 20p STOCK. Anyone using this and have suggestions on how to get it working with Google Pay, Google Dialer, etc?
Next phone, I will probably spend the money on a pixel

Yes, I'm sure it is. The guys doing custom ROMs do great work. But... Does I'm sure none of the 3 things I listed work on it.
Some day we'll get Wi-Fi calling in a custom ROM. One would think this would be more a standard method built into Android itself
I've got a H931 (basically daily driver with us998 20g) and a ls998 that I've used to test various roms and am now experimenting with serious debloating us998 20g on it.
I'm also accustom to Lineage, but as you know, there are not official builds for all devices. While the available roms are good, they are still a bit away from supporting all the basics.
In the meantime (and possibly for longer), just got through debloating the ls998. Now only 27 apps installed. Everything I need is working, very well actually. Looking at debloating even further. Watching to see if there are any ill effects.
It's difficult to determine what is the best, most productive way to go. At this point for me though I think it's debloating a stock rom. Time consuming but I hope worth it.
Good luck with your choice, Cheers
So I am on de-bloated stock with a few mods (google dialer, gcam, pixel launcher. Only thing not working at all is Google Pay. Magisk hide not working to fool it. Not a big deal.

That's easily fixed. Go to set->apps->google.services and delete cache and data. Make sure to hide magisk and any apps u don't want to see it first, reboot. Worked for me.
Cheers

Can you be more specific? I did what I think you mentioned:
Setup Magisk-Hide to hide from GPay, Google Play Store, and Google.
Cleared data and cache for Google Play Services (I assume that's what you meant?)
Rebooted, checked GPay, and it still says I can't use it because my device is rooted/altered.
Running Magisk 18.1, manager 7.1.1. Safetynet passes (both green checkmarks). What am I missing?

You're not running any Xposed modules, are you?

Nope, no Xposed at all, never installed it. Only one Masgisk module (Google dialer). VS996 20i otherwise (installed via TWRP... so stock rooted overall).
I thought I read that we need Magisk Canary now, as 18.1 isn't enough by itself. Another tip was to manually Magisk-Hide Google Play Services? I didn't want to dig in that deeply, if others are able to get by without these tricks...

I don't know. Mine was hiding from Google Pay very well on18.0 and then 18.1 -- until I decided I cared more how my status bar icons looked than Google Pay.
So had to go Xposed route even though I know that can't be invisible from Safety Net. I made the choice on purpose.

Stock rooted US998.
* Battery circle with percentage number inside, instead of TWO stock LG battery icons (wasted space and looks ugly). How complete the circle is also indicates percentage.
* Actual LTE symbol, not silly"4GLTE".
* H for HSPA, not "4G".
* Gradient distinction for both carrier and Wi-Fi strength.
Some are build prop edits, but I'm also running two Xposed modules.

Funny, in that I just tried my procedure on my 2nd device and it didn't work - but still working / worked on the H931...
My guess is that on one, Titanium bkup wasn't installed (installed after enable gpay), on the other, already installed?
will post back if I figure it out.

Go to Magisk forum. It has detail instructions how to pass Google pay.
You have to install old version of Google service frame work in order to make it.
It's working fine on my phone.

Module to fake Wi-Fi as Data

I am using one application which force me to turn my data connection to continue with that app. I am on WiFi and have no Sim Card on my device (so no possibility to have real data connection)
I need some thing which can make fool that app that my android is on Data connection instead of WIFI.
Please help me. Thank you.
(Made ton of search on Google and on the forum, without success...
Seen a lot of demand for the exact opposite though)

Huge tanks for your time. Haven't tested the app because unfortunately I can't get more than the version 87 of Xposed and this app requires the version 90
However, still huge thanks, and if you are able to make it fonctionnal with Xposed 87, it would be really awesome.
Still thank you, and have a nice day

Sure.. here you go.
What is the app you are trying to use called?
Thanks a lot, however :
With my android 7 phone, the app can be installed but not running at all, with any activity shown by Titanium backup or in ram activities (work with xposed though)
In Nox Android 5.1.1, the app can't be installed (nox is the main thing i use, the phone is here in order to test)
With all my gratitude for your efforts and time, with the hope (if it's not too much to ask), you can fix that
(And it's an app that show content only when connected with a 4g or data connection)

It will be easier to fix if I know that app's name.. there are a few ways for app to recognize data connection and I implemented one way.

Try this. It should work for Android 4+.
Keep in mind there is no activity for this, it's just an xposed module.. you won't see any icon for it and don't need to open it, just enable it in xposed.
Great thank you, it's installed with the test phone, and ticked on Xposed
But, with Nox with Android 5.1.1, still the same issue
I tried my best to find solutions by myself, and here is what I did
- > Tried to install normaly : Don't Work (app can't be installed)
- > Tried with lucky patcher (on a copy of a clean device) : Still don't work, with the message -> PM Error Failure Install Parse Failed No Certificates and the app was NEVER installed before (was a clean device)
- > Tried to install as a system app with Lucky Patcher : Work, but App not showing in Xposed or any App List (so don't work)
- > Tried to install a backup from my phone where the app was working : No Success
What can I do ? Thanks for your time

Thank you, this helped me. I signed the APK with a newer method that doesn't work on Android versions lower than 7.
Here is the apk signed compatible with android 5.
The app is installed with Nox and the issue is not showing
And wanted to wait longer to tell you if all will still be okay but seems to work really good
Huge thanks, once again
I'm sure that I won't be the only one interested by what you just made
Thank you
Nice app @firefds
It is possible to create version for XposedBridge 54?
Thanks

Hey, I am sorry if I am bothering but i would really be grateful if you could helpl me with this. I have an app that does not run unless it detects data connection instead of wifi.
My question is can I use your module using virtual xposed? if yes, could you guide me through it? thank you

Hi. Have you got a similar app that works the other way around? One that fakes mobile data as a wifi connection? I'm on Android 11.
Old thread but same problem. I have an application that simply will not work on any device that does not or cannot have a mobile data connection. This app believes any of those devices are considered an emulator and therefore will not work on said device. I need to trick this application into thinking Wi-Fi is either mobile data or I need a way for the app to think mobile data is being used. I am using this application on Android 9, or rather lineage OS 16. I have come close to tricking it using several of the apks provided in this thread, but none of them seem to do the trick for a long enough time. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Using Xposed (Lsposed) zygote. And with the latest magisk.
Any one find similar app for ATV Box 9.0, please?
@firefds I can't make ICICI Pockets app work without mobile data connection using the apks attached here. Maybe an update is necessary? I am using Magisk Delta with MagiskHide enabled to hide root from the app, Zygisk is disabled and so using Riru variant of latest LSPosed. Any help would be much appreciated. TIA.
Edit: The app worked after using a VPN but like Wifi it detected VPN use and displayed a warning so maybe in the future they will block this workaround. It would be great if mobile data can be faked.
Edit2: The app seems to work in Wifi directly without resorting to the use of VPN. The app is so riddled with bugs that it's hard to say anything with certainty.
There used to be an module called "Anynet" and it used to do same.. Maybe OP can make a module like that for all of us
