Thanks for the reply. That thread is actually the first thing i read before i actually signed up as a member. I read through all 20 something pages and the author of the thread states close to the end of the thread that one has found a firmware for the maven pro with android 6.0. If I could manage to get the drivers installd atleast i could make some kind of leadway on doing other things, like installing a custom recovery but i cant even get my pc . .. laptop running windows 7 to recognize the tablet when I plug it in.... i dont know what else to do at this point but drop kick this tablet into another universe....

Did u find anything yet?I have the same problem

Hi, I, too, have been very frustrated with the same problem, having tried all the root apk's I could find to root my RCA Maven Pro 11.6 tablet pc rct6213w87mm to avail. This device has to be one of the most difficult, if not impossible, tablet pc's to root and I'm wondering cynically whether the manufacturer intentionally made it like that to prevent the user from deleting many frivolous bloatwares installed that cannot be uninstalled without rooting the device. I sent an email to the RCA tech support requesting the usb driver for this model, but have not gotten any response, yet, if they will ever respond, that is.

Another Jon here. No relation.
I support a bunch of these specific tablets, we use them for sheet music display. Can't find firmware, can't root them. I feel your pain. However...I also know that the #1 problem with the RCT6213W87M tablet is that it spontaneously crashes & reboots whenever the Play Store app tries to install the latest version of the Google app. Took me awhile to figure this one out, let me tell you. Google doesn't care, because Android 6.0 is yesterday's news to them. RCA doesn't care, because they want you to buy a new tablet. But all the musicians care, very much, when their sheet music display crashes in the middle of a set. I told them to stop being lazy and just memorize all the music. They didn't think that was funny.
My initial fix was to disable auto-updates in the Play Store app, but that's a maintenance headache. A better workaround is to use the instructions at https://www.maketecheasier.com/prevent-specific-android-apps-auto-updating/ -- scroll about halfway down to "Stopping One App From Updating" and do that for the Google app. You still can't root the tablet or remove the bloatware, but it will at least stop the spontaneous reboots. And the musicians will stop throwing the tablets at you.

Unable to find phone in Emergency or Recovery mode during KDZ flashing

Hello friends of XDA, i'm here to ask you help once again! This time the problem is about a mysteriuos p760 aka LG Optimus L9. The problems in which i came across is the unlocking the bootloader and installing a custom recovery.
I tried so many ways that i'm really out of resources and ideas... Here few screenshots of the phone informations from setting app:

I am using Windows 8.1U3 on an Alienware 17.
I'll try to explain as fast and clearly i can:
First i read about this thread and it simply didn't worked (wow totally unexpected thanks to my fortune (Y)).
Then i thought i could easily flash some KDZ with unlocked bootloader and a sparky CWM built in, so i've google a little around and i found this and I then tried to flash the
with this guide but here the fun begun! No matter how i installed drivers, rebooted the system, tried in recovery mode or S/W Mode, the software did not see any phone at all; on the contrary the device manager sees it clearly and install correctly the drivers.
After posting the errors i found an answer a month later in the same thread.
This guys advices to use this tool instead, but as you can guess from me writing here, it did not work.
Then googling again i found this guide where you can install a CWM without even unlocking the bootloader! So, hey, i just need the root!
So let's go finding some way to root this F device (may LG go bankrupt now)! Again i googled "root p760/l9/optimus/plslgdie" and i found few ways none of them working. The Saurik one tells me that there is no bug available to exploit, the Chinese all-in-one rooter seems not having any green button and other script based on adb simply do not find the phone!
Of course i've tried a lot of cables and computers, all of them not working (still i need to try another OS....) and i'm going crazy. Only another device drove me crazy like that (the e610 aka L5 - wow this too was totally unexpcted!) but i finally found a ways to solve.
Please help me to delete every single line of code LG compiled in this device, please!
Up! Halp pls!

It's hard to say. I remember some people told me that windows 8 have problems with l9 driver. I don't want to say that you can reinstall drivers, because I'm sure you did it a few times. You can always install windows 7 but it's derp idea (of course if you want, you can do it). Did you try to run official LG recovery program and try to install from it?

Do you have an option with ACPI enabled or disabled ?
That's what most of android users have after booting windows 10 on usb key.

ACPI is branded in the bios and on by default as Windows has it under control.
Power, Device, Processor-States etc... all handled by Windows and not like older (very old) bios which had APM
That's why you need another bios if you ever want to dualboot.
I'm pretty sure you can download the BIOS from Lenovo. I couldnt help you install it from Android though. Seems like a very easy way to a bricked device.

You got it. Quite easy to brick it.
I am pretty sure Lenovo burned the BIOS in an EEPROM. Differently between Windows and Android models. Updates are just flashed in a CMOS, well rather NVRAM nowdays. That's why Windows and Android models have completely different approaches when it comes to update the BIOS. I doubt there will ever be a way to flash (supposed) "Windows" settings into a "Android" device, as the EEPROM was initially fixed differently, expecting specific store instructions for the NVRAM depending the OS model.

How do I root a Verizon Galaxy s4?

The videos in the sticky are incorrect or defunct. Many of the required files that these videos link to are broken links and the video near the top telling how to root a verizon s4 is false. The files this guy links to are blocked by Google Drive because they are "infected" according to Google Drive
I am not sure why XDA Developers are stickying videos with links to infected files. But there seems to be no other videos on rooting Galaxy s4 and I do not want to use KingRoot because it is potentially spyware.
I prefer something using TWRP and Odin.
So what is the real way of rooting an s4?
I am preparing to be passed an s4 myself... I've so far found some instructions, but will not try anything until I hold the device, of course... https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/jfltevzw/install
I hope I don't have to jump through too many hoops...
After a small amount of searching, it seems that if the phone ever took an ota upgrade, it will be impossible to bypass the locked boot loader... I've got my fingers crossed... But not too hopeful.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=63848199
Use the "old method" if you don't want to use Kingroot. The application only had a 5 day trial, so just keep that in mind.

You're right (it's been awhile since I had this device). Just saying the probability of finding one that has not been updated is next to nothing.
Turns out the phone is tmobile... And I don't seem to be acquiring it.
I have a way!
I just rooted my Verizon s4 with kingoroot not kingroot and then switched the kingoroot superuser app out with SuperSu and uninstalled all the kingoroot app stuff. Test Point on Sony M4 Aqua (hard brick).

Update:
My phone was not recognized by the computer since the usb flex was broken, the data lines did not work, but the charging lines did.
Watch this video for a solution:
Hello and thanks for reading! The whole problem started with a bad rom, I flashed it and when I turn on the device, the basic things, Wi-Fi, data, etc ... did not work, but worst of all, the PC does not recognize it, for therefore I cannot flash again with sony's original rom. So, researching there I found that there is a way to fix this kind of problem with a method called a test point, but I only saw other devices and on mine I didn't find any information about this.
I found these images but I don't understand much...

Hi RenzoMag.
The testpoint method was used to force the phone in a "factory mode" (I don't know the exact terms), expecially useful for Mediatek based phones.
The point highlited on the images are the "communication lines" to direct access the e-MMC memory chip.

The problem is that, the corrupt rom that is installed causes the computer not to detect the phone as a mobile device, try flashtool, sony companion, etc, but the same computer tells me "unknown device", detects that there is something but you don't know why, the rom's usb connection files will be damaged ... That is why my question about whether there is a test point for this device, because for other devices that if you can these types of problems are fixed that way. Do you have someone who knows a little more about this topic?

Need complete updated guide to root and update Asus z580ca to newer Android version

Hello! Im new to XDA. I am needing a complete guide(s) so I can root my Asus z580ca table. I have been looking for weeks on various forums (including this one) and I have found some old guides that are very confusing. I am not new to rooting, jailbreaking or installing CFW on gaming units but trying to find a cohesive guide on this topic has been daunting. I have tried to root my Asus using KingRoot.apk but no luck. I get stuck on 1% when trying to root. My Asus is on Android 5.0. My goal is to root and update the Android firmware to a more recent version like Android 9 or 10. I appreciate any assistance I can get on this!!
To update Android it's not needed to get it rooted, but to find a
1. Custom Recovery suitable to your Asus device
2. Custom ROM suitable to device, what is to be flashed via Custom Recovery you found
Thanks for the reply! So how do I go about finding a custom recover suitable to my Asus device? How do I go about finding a custom ROM suitable for my Asus Device. Again I'm Looking for a guide on how to do this.

First, welcome here.
Second, I'm not sure why you have to bring all those statements "I'm not new to rooting, bla, bla" while to me, you're completely clueless, not even remotely can differentiate between rooting and updating your device. If you are really new to some area, take my advice, just don't try to show off. It's not a shame to confess that you don't know anything about it nor have any experience nor expertise in that area yet. Just be honest.
And now, for the answer to your question:
At this point I would just rather advice you to sell your device and move to another new one. Why? There's several reasons.
First reason is, unfortunately your device isn't popular enough to have a community to share knowledge or the works they've been working on. Why? Because a lot depends on that.
Before doing anything else, you'll need to unlock the bootloader of your device. If there's no official manual to do so from Asus, usually you'll be dependent on the community for help, unless you can find it the way yourself. Now, even if you have somewhat find a way to do it, there's second part.
The second part is: the device was released before so called "treble" mechanism implemented, thus giving you another hurdle. "Treble" allow you at least override just the system partition without messing with anything else. Newer devices that were released with Android 8 or above, cmiiw, naturally has it implemented. Why is this important? In case you can't any specific custom roms tailored for your device, "treble" accepts GSI which allows you to try another OS without other heavy duty stuff. Without treble support, literally you'll have to build a complete custom rom. I see Asus has provided the device kernel, so technically it's very possible to do so (although it might lack techpack, etc).
That's all covers about installing roms. Recovery isn't mandatory to install rom, unless your device lacks of fastboot (Samsung) or their fastboot borked (Oppo, Vivo).
Upgrading to another version is different topic. Rooting is also a very different topic.
