i had 4g+ coverage in my area with my 2nd lenovo phone ( same network operator ).
and poco f1 supposed to have 4g+ coverage and frequencies even better than my old phone ..
any one facing this issues and is any fix to enable 4g+ to my poco f1
thanks

same issue here... I own Poco for 6 months and I could see 4G+ on my phone only ONCE for only few minutes- tried 4 different networks in 2 different countries.

i read your previous post , one replied to change the region from the setting , actually miuipro removed this from the setting , and when I was using stock rom , i kept the region ( india) to use face data unlock feature.
did u tried to change the region from the setting? and if u did , does it work or not ?
because I dont like to try the stock rom again unless it works :cyclops:

disappointing to have that great phone with this weird issue , I read somewhere on the internet, that xiaomi lock some bands frequencies to their phones , I don`t know why , basically snapdragon 845 support most of the 4g bands frequencies by default.
I thought may be one of the developer here could find a fix or if any way to unlock the frequencies to be used .

If I am not wrong xiaomi does not lock band frequencies (at least not on global version) but carrier aggregation.

It seems that the wiki article I read few months ago that said that carrier aggregation was not supported outside India has been updated ( https://en.everybodywiki.com/List_of_devices_with_LTE_Advanced#Xiaomi ).
However, in India, you should not have problem with CA

Thank you very much for this source. It led me to finally find the problem of not getting 4G+ on Pocophone!
Indeed CA (Carrier Aggregation) is blocked for SOME LTE bands, specially B20, B3 which are used in EU. I have spent all night doing this research and there are many posts on miui forums about the same issue and Xiaomi does NOTHING about it! This led me to thinking Xiaomi knows about this limitation in their modems bought from Qualcomm for smaller price perhaps? Who knows, but the fact is from now on, no one can be sure about full support of LTE in his country as far the phone has all the LTE bands, because what also matters is support of CA!!!
Please note, that CA works fine for example in India where different LTE bands are used and modem is not limited. The problem is CA with EU bands.
Buying Xiaomi phone and want to get 4G+? The only way is to test it after you buy, because you cant get this information from any spec sheet out there

FDD-LTE and TDD-LTE

Hi everyone.
Are there two different versions of Redmi Note 3 Pro?
Following situation:
In Germany, LTE-FDD is used. In China LTE-TDD is used.
I've bought the phone from Gea*rbest. The Description on the website says
4G: FDD-LTE 1800/2100/2600MHz
There was a sticker on the backside of the phone and there was only LTE-TDD listed. Also on the package of the phone is LTE-TDD listed.
So, LTE will not work in germany and Gea*rbest sent me a wrong version?
In a few days, my Telekom LTE contract will be active. Till then i can not see if LTE is working or not.
I'm a bit scared it wont work because ive already unlocked the bootloader and flashed a custom Rom and a new Kernel
Sorry to say that but the phone does not support most of the Telekom LTE antennas in Germany because they are sending on Band 20 (800Mhz). You would need the special edition for this. I too live in Germany but use O2/E-Plus and don't get LTE at all.

Thanks for your reply. I live in Hannover and the Telekom LTE Map shows, that the Band 3 (1800MHz) is very good in this city.
Shown here: https://www.t-mobile.de/netzausbau/0,25250,15400-_,00.html
"4G/LTE mit bis zu 150 MBit/s"
So from this point, i will not have any problems with LTE.
The question is: Will LTE generally work, because of the TDD-LTE standard. In germany, FDD-LTE standard is used.
Some specs from the phone showing that it supports TDD and FDD. Others only show TDD. So i'm not sure if there are different versions of the phone.
I think if you see the network "Telekom 4G" and can connect to it you will have LTE. I just did a scan and can see "Telekom 4G" and "Vodafone 4G" so if you live in an area with Band 3 support all should work! Lucky you but I think thats what I get for being a cheap ass and don't want to pay 40€ per month to the Telekom
hehe, thanks
Hopefully u r right and i can use LTE.
It was an offer. 6GB LTE for 9,99EUR/month. But its only Traffic Contract. As second Sim i will use Congstar 9ct./min and sms. I write 2 or 3 SMS a month and phonecalls? Maybe 10 Minutes a month. So i won't come over 12EUR/month.
So, its also affordable for a "cheap ass"
yes you're right but i wanted it all and yourfone had the best offer with their "volksflat" for 8€
I have some hope left that we can unlock Band 20 too on our devices if we get ahold of a dump from a special edition (kate) device.
OK, LTE is working, my contract is active

But even without LTE I love my RN3 Pro its a really good phone for little money. Did you order @gearbest?
Yea i like it too hopefully it will last long.
You are right, got it from gearbest.

Do you still have stock firmware installed? If so I would advise you to clean flash MIUI directly from Xiaomi or one of the custom roms from here.
My device came with unlocked bootloader and everything was screwed up so that i couldn't even install a custom firmware from TWRP.
After cleaning up with MiFlash and reinstalling TWRP it worked fine.
So I'm guessing they flash a custom firmware of themselves.
Yes, it was a shop Rom installed. My bootloader was unlocked too. I installed hexagon Rom and dominator kernel. Everything fine till now, no bugs recognized.
Now i See that cm13 is official from TheStix one hour ago. Some bugs. For the future very interesting

why you buy a phone from china and dont know nothing about?
Nothing? It was just the fdd and tdd thing. And i didnt know that germany and China are using different Standards. And it seems that these Standards dont matter, because LTE is working.

Well, the beauty is that the Snapdragon 650 can handle both LTE FDD and TDD.

From what i could find on the internet the x829 is the version for the US and i'm not sure if it has bootloader unlocked, considering the 64 gb ROM i would risk buying it, but if lte wont work in Romania on this version, and there's no way to instal another custom rom thats a no buy, please tell me your thoughts

You can look on this site: willmyphonework.net
There you can choose brand, model, country and your provider.
Website mentioned does not help, as you can't select variants.
As far as I know (I have ordered it myself) X829 is USA version, so it DOES NOT HAVE BAND 20. I would skip on this one if your 4G/LTE carrier is emitting via B20 frequency.
Here in Montenegro, 2 out of 3 carriers have 4G and both use bands 3 and 7, so I am covered and don't really care about B20.
There is a tool that unlocks bands, yet nobody confirmed that it actually works.
As far as custom ROMs are a concern, they all are interchangeable , means all ROMs can be used on all variants, X820, X821, X823, X829...

I have x820 working perfectly in Lithuania, you can check your Country's LTE supported bands on this link; http://willmyphonework.net/ and hardware for all version of max 2 is the same, you can always switch between roms.
Most webshop are pre-selling the X829 and will ship fom Feb 28, let's wait a few days to have them in hand and have actual experince on whether they have B20 and if they can be unlocked. (I want to know also if they do)

Has anyone tried the x829 in the US CDMA carriers like Verizon, if it works on them it will be e killer deal!

carrier aggregation issue on xiaomi phones

hey everyone, I'd like to open a discussion about getting carrier aggregations on our phones, as you already know many of us can't get this feature that's already been implemented on our carriers in many countries or in some countries one carrier does and one doesn't. it's called LTA-A, LTE plus. 4G Plus network
I saw a post on reddit and I quote :
"TIL : Redmi Note 3 Pro (Kenzo) doesn't support Inter-band CA
Recently, I just bought a carrier aggregation enabled operator's SIM card (Digi) to try out this phone's CA aka LTE-A aka 4G+. For your information, I live in Malaysia and you could look up for this operator in this link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_LTE_networks_in_Asia. To my surprise, there's no 4G+ icon show up so I'd decided to look up for more info on Chinese MIUI regarding this. Users that are able to access 4G+ are all China Mobile users and China Telecom users are not able to. China Mobile had intra-band CA and China Telecom had inter-band CA and hence I came with a conclusion, this phone doesn't support Inter-band CA."
which makes sense to me, as the carrier in my country which is Iran uses Inter-Band CA and won't work on my phone which is kenzo(rn3).also none of the xiaomi phones work either (entry level to flagship ones)
so, does anyone have the knowledge to tell me and the others that is it possible to change Intra-Band CA to Inter-Band CA? or is it the hardware that should be changed in order to work?
note : LTE bands aren't the issue here, both carrier and phones support them.
@TheStrix @flar2 @franciscofranco @MEGAX91 @billchen1977 @dadi11 @psndna88 @xyyx (please don't mind the order)
any suggestions regarding this issue?
@MEGAX91 I believe you were successful on your device(kate). is there a complete guide for everyone that could follow?
I'm desperately looking for a reasonable solution

There are very few operators which allow carrier aggregation.... Standards are there to implement in their network but mostly they are pretty expensive for them to bring live... May be in future, we may have

T-Mobile VoLTE for Mate 20 Pro??

Can ANYONE who has the Mate 20 Pro and has T-Mobile (U.S.) as well confirm whether or not VoLTE is an option?? Please, if you do have it, let me know. Also, please: 1) Provide a screenshot of a phone call in progress (using stock calling app) 2) Provide the model # (L09 ((Single SIM) or L29 ((Dual SIM))). 3) Mention if Wi-Fi Calling is listed as well or not. 4) A screenshot of the settings page with VoLTE listed would be helpful as well, but it's NOT as important as #1.
Thank you all in advance!!

WTF? You have proof of this?? lol
It doesn't have anything to do with T-Mobile certifying one phone for Volte and not the other--both support the necessary bands. There's just a line of code different in the OS.
With the Xiaomi Mix 2 & Mix 2S the former supported Volte on T-Mobile and the latter didn't despite having the same modem and band support. But in MIUI a dial code turns off the coding for carrier check and voila--the 2S supports Volte on T-Mobile just like the Mix 2.
Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be anything like that on Huawei phones but a software update could easily add Volte compatibility.

The thing with T-Mobile is, your phone can have Band 12 on it, but T-Mobile doesn't allow you to use for calls (only data) unless the phone has certified VoLTE on it. At least THIS is what I was told. But you may be right b/c the newest Sony phone (Xperia XZ3) as far as I know doesn't have T-Mo VoLTE certification, yet when I got it (and later returned it cuz the camera was surprisingly under par), I was able to have VoLTE on a call b/c, just not in 4G LTE. But the call showed "HD+" which means VoLTE was there, even w/o VoLTE in the Settings menu. And the newest T-Mobile 2018 phones (meaning the ones sold by T-Mo directly) don't have it listed either...........so I dunno anymore! lol I guess now it's not about having 4G LTE during a call, it's about if you see HD+ or HD something while making a call on the stock phone app.
Wow! That's pretty cool. Yeah I hope Huawei does that. I just got the OnePlus 6T from T-Mo and traded in my LG V30, so it's too late now anyway. I'd still like to see proof of the 20X having it though, cuz next spring I am considering upgrading again (since I got 6T for only $280 with trade-in) to the P30 Pro maybe. But if no VoLTE, again I will pass on it.
Anyone here get Volte on T-Mobile with Mate 20 Pro?
I was not able to find a way to get volte working on my l29, but I did install tmo digits. After the install, I called someone and was able to stay on 4g lte and was able to use wifi calling(using my number) . I think its a great work around.

Carrier aggregation with mi9

Someone that already have it coukd check what band are included? Today i will ran some test on my friends phone
Did you checked it? I'm very curious about aggregation bands 1+3+7 because no other Xiaomi could do that because of software lock. S855 could do that easily
Also curious
I'm waiting to hear more on this as well. I'm hoping, due to their recent announcements of trying to enter the US market, that the Mi 9 will aggregate on more bands, specifically bands in the US on AT&T.
Once OnePlus started entering the US market they made sure to unlock all the features of the Qualcomm modem. My 5T often is 3xCA on 2, 4, 12 or 66 for example. Unfortunately, it has a huge bug with the modem.
I made some test with my mi 9 eu with the global beta and I can confirm that it is 4ca (and 256 qam) capable in europe (b1+b3+b7+b20). Tomorrow I'll check if it can go in MIMO 4x4.

Can you post screenshot?
For the life of me I cannot get LTE+ to work(carrier aggregation). My Chinese variant will only connect to a single LTE band. I have run stock, xiaomi.eu, floko gsi and not on global stable and no change. WTF. My temp phone that is a Verizon lg g3 can do LTE+ and it only supports 2 T-Mobile bands where this device support 4.

Same here, LTE+ doesn't show up. I'm on T-Mobile US. I didn't have any problems with my Mix 2 and Mix 2S.
I've had it show a couple times outdoors but never inside. I also had no similar issue on Mix 2 or 2S. I thought the MI & Mix Xiaomi phones were supposed to be comparable but maybe not.
My mi5 has AG on b3+b7 but my mi 9 don't show 4g+ and no AG!
Xiaomi is unsual in this case!

In Italy mi9 supports only b1, b3, b7 and b20.
The mi9 has 4x4 MIMO only on band 7 but not in any combination that include the band 3.

OMG, why only band B7?
I guess we will never have full support.
In the Netherlands I see 4G+ all the time, just like on my previous MI mix 2. Not rooted, bootloader is locked, global version running eea rom
