Android Unusable - E 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, good evening to the community!
(EDIT: Anyway, I want to apologize if I'm doing something wrong. I recently joined).
I believe I made the biggest mess of my life, and now I'm desperate. I downloaded the latest version of TWRP, to update the one I already used; the problem is that. Now he is no longer in Recovery Mode. And worst of all? I had already deleted my OS. So, there's no way I can authorize OEM unlocking. So I can not use ADB & Fastboot. And I think I have to throw my device away as it is unusable. What should I do? I'm desperate and there are no solutions.
-Thanks

There is no need to worry if you corrupt you recover, just enter into bootloader mode then flash the recovery.
code:-fastboot flash recovery moto.img
Note:- Moto should be replaced with the recovery name
If you want to return to stock ROM then here is the procedure:-
Firmware:-https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/surnia/official/
Procedure:-https://www.google.com/amp/s/forum....tore-moto-e-2015-stock-firmware-t3044936/amp/
Done now you are now stock ROM .

Yes thanks! I did it yesterday, watching a Brazilian video. I had to download 3 different ROMs to be able to do such a process; so I did the process through Fastboot. Thank God I did not have to buy another device, hehe. And I'm already using another Custom Rom at the moment (RR, but I plan to change it as soon as I find another great new one that does not bug WhatsApp). Thank you again!

[Q] Stuck In Recovery Mode

Hi Guys,
I am getting kind of desperate. I keep rebooting into recovery mode. Then, the screen shows Fastboot mode started... udc_start (). I think it is stuck. I am using LG Optimus ONE (P500). I have tried battery pull a lot of times. Doesn't work. Any suggestions? If you suggest I reflash stock rom or something, tell me how please. Thanks.

for flashing original firmwares
If you choose to reflash stock ROM, here is what you need:
- tools: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=875881
- ROMs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=944881 or the link suggested in the tools thread
You may wait a little bit longer before reflashing to see if anybody has a better solution to your problem. Good luck!
More Questions... Help please if you can... Thanks
Hi All,
Thanks to those who have responded so far. I kind of needed the phone fixed ASAP, so I sent it for repair. But anyway, I have a few questions:
1)Is it possible to reflash stock ROM or a new ROM even if the the computer or Android SDK can't detect your device? (This is with the correct driver installed. When my phone was in the fastboot mode screen, it couldn't be detected as an LG Device at all when plugged in.) If you can, how?
2)For those who have successfully gotten a new ROM onto their Optimus One, how did you do it? Is there anywhere where the procedure can be found? And is it relatively safe? (I know there is always a chance you might brick your phone unless you are some expert, but there are some procedures that are safer than others right?)
3)This last question isn't really relevant to this forum section, but I'll ask anyway. Which phone models (any brand, preferably 2.2 onwards) are good for rooting and installing custom ROMs? Like, are there any phones that most rooting/ROM installing software supports? (For instance, I have heard that HTC phones can usually be flashed with custom ROMs without bricking that easily 'cos they are supported by stuff like ROM Manager etc.) And one more thing: what are the easiest/safest ways found to root/flash a new ROM?
Thanks everyone.

Yes it is possible, you'll need to firstly boot into 'emergency mode', by pressing volume up + back + power when the phone is off. Then follow these steps to flash stock rom. You do not use Android SDK at all, all you need is for the phone to get into the emergency mode, it is what most people with bricked phones do to reflash.

Personally, it was relatively easy for me even though I'm a new user to android. I've had my phone for 2 weeks and bricked it 3 times within the first 72 hours. But there are methods to get it back as I explained in Q1 XD In order to flash a new ROM, there are 3 MAIN steps.
1. root your phone
2. install custom recovery
3. make backup and flash new ROM
if you need help on certain individual steps, just post it here and I'm sure someone will help you.

In terms of the easiest method to root, it is definitely to simply run an app that can automatically root the phone for you, such as z4root, or SuperOneClick are just 2 examples. So I'll say whichever phones these app support, will be the easiest to root. ROMs will depend on the users of those phones and their dedication to creating customisable ROM. You can find most of the phones and available ROMs on this forum anyway.
Is it possible to exit emergency mode? Do you do a battery pull or something? I am planning to test out booting into emergency mode when my phone comes back from repair. Will it harm my phone? (Does it do stuff like wiping system data or my installed apps?) Thanks in advance to anyone who will reply.
I think you can just hold power to turn your phone off in emergency mode, but if it doesn't work, you can always pull the battery out. You didn't mention what you did for this problem to start but unless you perform the same thing, you won't need to use emergency mode.

when you said install a new rom, did you install it through kdz? if you did, try installing an optimus s rom through recovery. heres how:
download a rom on your computer
plug your phone in to you computer (with it already booted in recovery)
toggle usbms on your phone
transfer the rom to your phone
flash the rom

[Q] Looking for Blu Life Play L090a Stock Rom

I need help!!
Trying to flash the stock roms I received from here-->> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2370987
I always get a mismatch error suggesting that the software I'm loading isn't correct. Looking at my phone, the model is a bit different.
It's (L090a) while the models listed are (L100a & L100i).
My phone's recovery has been blocked by my carrier Digicel so I'm unable to enter recovery, let alone do any backups via CWM.
Does anyone have access to this stock rom? or at least the correct preloader will do.
Unlocked bootloader?

I'm just curious as to whether you found anything to unlock the bootloader on the L090a. Thats the model I have and my bootloader is locked up tighter than an virgin in a convent.

Well, in short, not yet. But there's hope.
Curently, I have no access to CWM. I was a bit hasty and flashed a ROM for a Blu Life VIEW! My phone couldn't boot, was bricked. I tried flashing the cwm files from lopestorm and I had access to cwm for the first time, but even after flashing the stock L100 files, it couldn't boot. Used a friend's blu life play to extract the stock rom using MTK Droid Tools. Tried hard to revive it.
Currently it's working but back to square one. When I flash a new recovery file (which worked before) the phone doesn't boot and needs to be reflashed and reformatted. Hoping to get some help from a professional. Just have to figure out a way to get the cwm to work.
Realised too that the bootloader being locked isn't a problem once you're using SP Flash Tools.

HTC Desire 626s - Stock Firmware/Rom?

Hey guys! Unfortunately I bricked my new HTC Desire 626s while fiddling around with xposed for lollipop after successfully rooting the phone and installing cyanogen recovery. I think if I flash the stock rom on the phone through either adb or cyanogen recovery I can unbrick it, but I have been unsuccessful in finding this file on the internet. Would anyone care to give me a link or upload the stock firmware/rom of this phone? It would really help me out, thank you!
You have to make sure the firmware is the same version or newer than the one currently on the phone as well as which carrier or region the phone is from. Without that, can't provide the correct file to download.

Was just thinking about this...if you soft bricked after attempting to install Xposed, and nothing else, you should be able to get out of it by flashing the xposed uninstaller zip. If that does not work, stay tuned to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-626/help/htc-desire-626s-root-recovery-t3169169 as there are some others at the end of the thread in a similar predicament. It does not appear that there is an official RUU yet for the Metro version, only the T-Mobile version, and they are not compatible. Just try the uninstaller zip first because that would be the easiest thing to try and should only take a couple of minutes.

I tried this before my phone got ****ed and it worked:good:! If you can help me dude that'd be great. After uninstalling or changing some stuff in priv-app on my HTC Desire 626s, when I rebooted, it would just stay in a boot loop with the optimizing app message. Any ideas?
What did you uninstall? I would ask for those apps in that thread and use a flashable zip and install via TWRP. You might also try clearing caches and/or resetting the phone again. It DOES take a long time to optimize the apps after wiping stuff as well, so sometimes it is a matter of being patient.
This is why I ALWAYS recommend to freeze apps vs uninstalling. Uninstalling them does not get you any usable space back, so there is no benefit, but it can cause issues if you do need the apps, as you can see...

I believe I uninstalled the dialer and its service in an attempt to replace them with the stock lollipop ones. How do you install TWRP on this phone? My mom has the same phone and its also rooted but hers actually works so I was thinking since TWRP has a nandroid backup setting, I could simply do a nandroid backup on hers and flash it on to mine to see if it will boot up. What do you think? And for the optimizing apps thing, it would finish optimizing, say starting apps, reboot and then optimize again and repeat. Thanks for the help btw, I really hope we can fix this.
You have to unlock the bootloader @ htcdev.com and use fastboot to install TWRP. And yes, that would work, as long as they are on the same software update. Know that when you unlock the bootloader, it will automatically wipe the phone, so make sure she has everything backed up to Google, the PC, etc.

Do you have the TWRP recovery file for me to download?
I'm afraid I'm a bit confused... How did you install Xposed and the Uninstaller without a custom recovery? Upon further searching, there doesn't appear to be a version of TWRP for your phone that I could find. Just figured you already had one. You must be on Kit Kat and not Lollipop?

I installed Cyanogen recovery before flashing Xposed and the uninstaller. I thought you had the TWRP recovery img for my phone which is why I asked. I believe some developers are working on a Clockworkmod recovery for this phone which is basically the same thing as TWRP recovery, right? Anyways I guess I just have to wait until that comes out, but I was wondering if anyone who somehow got a hold of the stock rom could upload it for us to use. It would be really helpful
ClockWorkMod is the recovery that Cyanogen uses. That is able to perform nandroid backups as well.
You have to unlock the bootloader, then if you messed up your stock rom and you've updated it to something newer than what Samsung gives for a stock recoverable rom, you must first use the tmobile vers, let it fail, and then use metropcs vers.
If you messed up recovery or anything it will all go back to stock after flash.
Next just copy superuser zip file to phone, go to download mode and adb flash cyanogen recovery img. Then reboot to recovery, choose to flash update, and find the superuser. zip and flash it, voila.

Kitkat, anyone?
Does anybody have a stock KitKat ROM for this device? I'd like to try to bypass the FRP, but am stuck on what must be either a marshmallow or lollipop ROM.
What carrier do you have?
I can send you a backup of the FRP.img for Marshmallow or for lollipop.
You can dd if= flash it to your device and you should be all good.
I am looking for any older roms for these devices too.
Seems like not too many people save the RUU and then HTC only releases the newest.
I got lollipop and marshmallow that's it.
But like i said we can fix the frp partition.
Issue is fixed

Soft-bricked OPX, Working Fastboot, No Recovery. Need help please.

Hello guys,
I have a problem with my OnePlus X, and it would be lovely if I could get some help or advice from you guys.
> To provide some slight background, I purchased this off of eBay to complete my OnePlus collection. Most listings were above what OnePlus originally sold the phone for, but I found one for $125 in good condition by a seller with a good rating. It was advertised as soft-bricked, with Fastboot in working order. I thought "no problem, I'll just reflash it and be on my merry way."
Now onto the issue. I received it, charged it up, and attempted flashing the official recovery provided by OnePlus, but something is not working. I've been tinkering with Android for a number of years now, so I troubleshooted as much as I could, but to no avail.
1. Starting with device unplugged and powered off, boot into fastboot
2. Plugged into the computer, and ran `fastboot devices` to ensure it's recognized. After that, I flashed the recovery.img that was on my desktop with `fastboot flash recovery recovery.img` (yes I was in the correct directory). It looked successful. Picture of cmd response text at the following imgur album: /a/25DEQ (sorry I cannot post full links yet, had to create a new xda profile, forgot my old one :/
3. Unplugged the phone, powered off, Volume Down + Power to attempt boot into recovery. Failure. It just turns on with the 1+ logo, and quickly flashes the 'android' logo at the bottom. It stays like this until I manually power off.
I'm a bit stumped I have to admit. I would greatly appreciate any input you folks have. Thank you.

Hi! Thank you for your reply
I posted this same question on the /r/oneplus subreddit, and received a quick and helpful walkthrough. Turns out part of the problem was that the micro-usb port on the phone itself is a bit unreliable. I haven't investigated too deeply, but it took a while to find a position for the wire to maintain a stable connection. I suspect this may be why the device was bricked in the first place (disconnect when flashing rom/kernel/etc.)
Anyways, for some reason flashing the stock recovery to the phone was just not working. The guy on reddit recommended trying TWRP, and that worked immediately. However, at that point, I had no idea what the history of the phone was or what OS was on it before, what firmware it had. I tried installing the official CM13 and then Sultan's CM13 with no luck. What *did* work was Oxygen OS 2.2.6.
At this point I'm stuck yet again though... The Marshmallow OTA (3.1.3) in the OS shows as available for download, but when I try to install the download only gets to 22% and then stops. Flashing the 3.1.3 OTA.zip available on OnePlus' support site doesn't work in TWRP, and when I try to flash stock recovery, it doesn't work.. don't know what else to try.

Root your device using twrp or kingoroot method then install flashify and try to flash stock recovery using flashify. .. Tht may work.
Flashing 3.1.3 via official twrp ll not work... Cos ur bootloader version, U can do it only with stock recovery or u need to edit meta data file. Or u can flash stock recovery img file by twrp

Flashing 3.1.3 via official twrp ll not work... Cos ur bootloader version, U can do it only with stock recovery or u need to edit meta data file. Or u can flash stock recovery img file by twrp

Thanks I'll give those a shot once I'm home from work! Quick question about editing the META INF. I've heard that doing so risks hard-bricking the device. Is that true?

Hi OP, sorry for joining late to the party
So the thing is the OnePlus X is at opposites now since the official MM release on 29th September. The thing is if you are running the old bootloader (OxygenOS 2.x.x) or any ROM based on it, then the New TWRP will not boot, neither will the Stock Recovery that is hosted on the OnePlus download section for the X, which is where i assume you download the stock recovery from, right ? Also note that the official recovery hosted on the TWRP website is also yet to be updated, we're working on that.
So you are on the old Bootloader. Simple stuff. I have posted my guide a lot of time around the forums, its gained a lot of merit. You could follow it for your update process. I'll leave a link below. In case you wanna verify that the old bootloader is causing the issue my Index Thread pinned in the general section has a link for the Stock recovery for Old bootloader, try flashing that via fastboot, if it successfully boots then you're set.
Comprehensive guide to Update to Marshmallow Bootloader
The above guide is centered to the thread i have posted it on but the process is 99% the same. In the end, you could just stay with Oxygen OS 3.1.3, or flash any custom ROM based on the new Bootloader.
Now regarding your query about editing the META of the ROM, well Yes to an extent it IS risky if you ain't careful because my guide guides you to delete the one single line that removes the device check, so as long as you use the modified zip on OnePlus X only, there will be no issues.

Bootloader locked. Can't flash roms. Stuck on oneplus logo

Something really weird happened while I was installing roms. Someone how my OEM got locked and I flashed and voila stuck on the oneplus logo. I have my fastboot working properly also got twrp installed. The thing is that my bootloader is locked so i cant flash and I cant unlock bootloader because I cant flash and set oem unlock. I know this is ****ed up and also my volume up key is not working so we have to work without that. . Whenevr i turn on the device the powered by android quickly disappears and i am in the fastboot. If I do oem unlock it sends me to the recovery. I am not sure why i can't OEM unlock in fastboot. I don't care about data and stuff. Just want the phone working. The unbrick guide wants me to press the volume up key to get to the qualcomm flashing. Unfortunately i can't do that. Need of dire help please ;_;
I kind of have the same problem as of 2 days (see https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/bricked-oneplus-x-unlock-bootloader-t3816387), which is kind of strange, as I haven't read anywhere else about it on the internet.
I'll be following this topic.

I've solved it bud. IF you have a working recovery and bootloader. Flash the stock OS. It'll flash even though the bootloader is locked and then your can oem unlock and do whatever.

That's good news! But I think I've tried that, but had no succes. Can you link me the ROM you've flashed?

Thank you. I've tried it, but the problem is that I'm stuck with the Oneplus recovery, as I've mentioned in my post. From there, I have 2 options to flash:
1) from internal memory. When I click this, nothing happens (no new screen or anything, nothing)
2) from USB (adb sideload). When I try to sideload the ROM using this option, it starts promising, but after a few seconds, it just says 'Installation failed' without any reason why. Just like for all other ROMS.
So... No progress here. I've also tried to flash the stock recovery (even though it should be on my phone already, maybe another version) using fastboot, but my OPX won't take it because the bootloader is still locked.
Last resort: I'll try the Oneplus live chat tomorrow, but I do not expect any useful information from that...

Well guess what, they could solve it.
Or at least partly. It appears that Oneplus has an updated version of the tool used in the mega unbrick guide: MSMDownloadTool V2.1 instead of V2.0. This tool did it's job perfectly, OOS was also installed, in contrast to V2.0 of the tool. I ****ed it up again after that (oops), but found the tool V2.1 online here (https://github.com/finlayacourt/Oneplus-X-Recovery). Some files are missing here like the system.img, but I just copied them from the folder of tool V2.0 found in the mega unbrick guide. It didn't work as perfectly as Oneplus's tool, but at least I was able to install OOS from the Oneplus bootloader, which I wasn't able to before. So knowing that, in the end, the result is the same as for their tool. A working OS again, perfect! So now I can unlock the bootloader again and continue the adventure.
Now, what I've found is that the mainboard I have on my OPX is a newer version (if you search on Google for 'oneplus E1003_15', you'll find some things about it, not much though). I'm 99% positive that this caused all the problems I've encountered. It is why TWRP couldn't see any storage, why the stock Oneplus recovery couldn't see any storage, why the tool V2.0 didn't work and why V2.1 did work. If I wanted a working TWRP, I had to install a modified version of TWRP which is compatible with the newer version, from here: https://www.android-hilfe.de/forum/...-1-oreo-rom-unofficial-onyx-8-1-x.867374.html (yes, once you're relying on German sites, you know you went very deep). After that, I could install LineageOS 14.1 again. I was unable to install the unofficial LineageOS 15.1 however, but knowing where I came from, what I've gone through and how much time I've lost on all of this, I think I'll just stick with LineageOS 14.1 until this baby can retire...
Got to say I only have very positive experiences with Oneplus and it's customer support, and this only adds to it!
