Newflasher doesn't work for me either.
Are you getting any error messageson NewFlasher?
Mines also from O2 UK and I'm trying to flash generic firmware.
I'm guessing we need a FSC Script for flashtool.

With the earlier Xperia phones you needed to unlock the bootloader before flashing (that you are allowed to unlock doesn't mean that your bootloader is unlocked). To unlock you need the script and the code from Sony. At the moment I don't remember where to get both (script and code). And what about DRM-keys?, is it there a TA-partition to backup before unlocking? And so on...

I uploaded an update for newflasher here: github.com/munjeni/newflasher/issues/6. Tested with J9110.

How did you use the 2 files in the patch? Just copied them to Newflasher folder and run the whole process with the new .exe file?
How many times did you get error 997? Did you redo the whole process from the beginning or did you just unplug and replug the phone while the process was running?
Thnx

New version v14 is out!

I guess you have not installed Gordon Gate driver.

Did anyone check the new version of Newflasher on Xperia 1?

Hi, it seems work, see 2 comments before end of comments -> https://github.com/munjeni/newflasher/issues/6
Noelex confirm that newflasher working. I have included all patches including on from noelex. Only which might not work (I'm believing it will work) is partition folder flashing, if you flash it please post newlfasher log (post it in neflasher thread), I need to be sure everything is right!

Best you ask in that respective thread. https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746

Hello guys,
I managed to flash my new Xperia 1 to Customized UK and EE UK firmware without problems. I didnt delete anything like .ta files etc. I just copied newflasher files to Firmware Folder, downloaded from XperiFirm and run Newflasher.exe in flash mode.
Vodafone UK carrier lock still exists after flashing though!
I am trying to get an unlock code for this from a seemingly legit site. (fingers crossed)

Download Flashtool, install it, then go to folder c:\\flashtool\drivers and install driver package, checking the first two options, flashtool and fastboot drivers. Then your mobile will be discoverable in flash mode. Shut down your phone and while turned off, keep volume down button pressed while connecting usb cable, till green light shows up

Accidentally bricked my U20a

So... I realize there's multiple threads of people asking help on unbricking in general, but I accidentally re-locked the bootloader before flashing a stock kernel.
... Is this phone now a lost cause?

It keeps giving me a "no software is available for your phone" message.
I meant to flash the stock kernel on it, but, for some reason, I brain farted and accidentally locked the bootloader.

If you're on gingerbread or lower than you should be able to unlock it again with flashtool, as far as i'm aware. Try a stock firmware flashable with flashtool, there should be some available in the x10mini pro development section of this forum.

It doesn't work; I can't even get to the bootloader unlock opinion. The "Plugins" drop-down menu is empty and fastboot gives me an error message when I try to flash anything.
I guess it's R.I.P for this phone?

I hope you meant to say flashtool, and not fastboot? our phones don't support fastboot. Always choose flashmode...
The Plugins drop-down should be empty because the ROM you're on is unsupported for the unlock-plugin.
However, you should be able to flash the stock kernel, Hold on...
This should be flashable with flashtool. I can't guarantee that it will make your phone work properly, but it will give you back the stock kernel, and possible enable you to unlock your bootloader again, or at least enable you to flash the other firmware you had lying around...

The same thing happened to my xperia mini pro (U20a) when trying to update through SEUS and the software in the pc (PC companion) crashed by performing an illegal operation(Now it is no longer recognized by seus). This result my phone turning into a brick with only a big triangle with ! mark and a phone's picture was displayed on the screen when it turned on. I have never rooted the phone or installed Xrecovery/busybox (learned about them from this forum threads only). So I was anxiously following this thread and installed Flashtool and downloaded the ftf file (220MB) specified in this thread. Then voila, the flash was successful with this and the phone switched on. Now the second level of problem starts. None of the keys ( even the power key) or touch screen responds once the phone boots up.However the SIM is responding to the incoming calls (although cannot receive them as the touch screen is not operational). The battery is 100% charged and sim signal is 100% with sd card successfully mounted . Every time I need to remove the battery to switch it off. The display is now showing current date time (in a blue background) and a lock(left) and speaker (right) icons. Everything is stalled here. Downloaded two more firmwares and bundled them(sin files) in flash tool, but none worked except this fft file.
Please help
PS I have attached the flash tool log file for this flash.
To both of you: Try Repair with PC Companion.
1. Leave the phone unplugged
2. Start PC Companion
3. Choose Support Zone
4. Choose Update
5. It can find no update because your phone is unplugged
6. Click the Repair-link it shows
7. Follow the instructions from there on.
Hope that works, if not: Download this and flash with flashtool.
Thanx for the quick reply.
I have started the pc companion and go to the repair option. However after selecting the model from the list, it started updating. Then BANG!! Again the program performed an illegal operation and shutdown by the window XP.. The entire PC screen hanged and I had to manually kill it by pressing ALT+Ctrl+Del . So it seems this method will not work in my laptop.
Downloading your FTF file and trying it in flash tool. Hope it will work.:crying:
PS: your link is now pointing to the zip file and I have tried the UK version of that already ( by building the ftf from sin files in flash tool) with no improvement. Can you give a ftf file directly like the last one ? Thanx in advance.

No need to make it yourself, just rename the zip-file you download to .ftf and flash it.

Did you remove the other one you flashed earlier?
Not sure what's going wrong there, it should show up...
You did restart flashtool?
If you are still there
I removed and reinstalled the flash tool. Followed the procedure discussed so far. Still it is not showing in the list.Screen shot attached. The U20 option which is showing is for your earlier ftf file (kernel_locked) and not the renamed one (however if I bundle the sin files and create the ftf by specifying build number, version etc..) it is showing. However , flushing with that made no improvement. It took sometime to respond as I was trying these.

Yes, I installed drivers, when I go to import device it just says that there's no device to import.
Also, after trying one more time, when I press the confirm button (step 5 of the tutorial) it says that an error ocorred (it says something about memory and to try again),

For this you will need Flashtool and Xperia drivers intalled on your PC. (Installing Sony PC companion will do)
Well, what you need to do is download the kernel of previous version. I have attached a file but I am not sure if its the old version. (.10)
Flash FTF of your desired STOCK rom ICS via Flashtool.
Flash kernel of any version before 6.1.1.b.1.54 .
Root it using the file attached.
And you are done!
Make sure the USB tethering is ON in Settings >development !
I have attached the files on page 11 on this post:

NO, but don't worry.
Is your bootloader unlocked?
if not, this must be the reason.
if ýou have unlocked bootloader then,
Flash kernel again and root it using .10.
I am thinking you must have disconnected the phone in the middle.
Were you on administration when you tried to flash it ?
You must give administration rights to run the programme.
Were the drivers properly installed ?
A screen came and said to restore and then you didnot disconnect your phone till the programme asked you to ?
Have you followed instructions properly ?
IF all this doesnot work, Flash FTF of ICS of any ICS you like . Root it again !
I have rooted my phone so many times with the file i sent !
And you are using the option 1 when it asks you to root. You are rooting a mobile and not a tablet.
If anything you need to ask, I be writing you back!

As I suspected, your phone has come with locked bootloader. This means that Sony will not support your phone to be unlocked. The reason simply is they do not want to give out cheap phones so you can use any other sim on your phone. However, you can only run roms which support locked bootloader and you can not experiment much with your phone as it will brick your device. There are quite few roms which support locked bootloader. Further, the tutorial is simply from Sony and thus will not work for your phone!

OK, one last thing, I found this rom (it says that works with locked bootloader): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=194647
But in the instructions it says to flash it via CWM (I know that it's a custom recovery), I searched and the tutorials I found either ask for root or unlocked bootloader.
The text file attached in OP doesn't help much as I am not able to know which FW are you using.
I assume that the FW is greater than B.1.10 which Is why u are facing problems while rooting as the FW used in the guide in OP is B.1.10.
FYI, B.1.10 was directly rootable without much hassle just by following the guide but if you have a C.1.0 / B.1.89 / B.1.100 Stock Rom on your device then you will have to do some extra steps

On my phone it says, Build Number: 6.1.1.B.1.54
Here's the Rooting Process for you.
This Rooting guide applies to all FW versions above B.1.10.
1) Open Flashtool.
2) Click the Flash icon.
3) Select Flash Mode. (Make sure USB Debugging is ON in your Mobile Settings before connecting to PC)
4) Select & Flash the B.1.10 kernel. Then Reboot.
5) Select the Un-Lock icon and choose your preferred SU app & proceed.
6) Follow the on-screen instructions.
7) Now you have rooted your device.

You don't need to unlock your bootloader in case of flashing stock kernels.
Unlocking bootloader is necessary to flash custom built kernels.

I have used this:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2054504
Method 2 ) its working, but you must change kernel from stock to--> (Lupus, doomkernel)
I could not root my 800at phone with this firmware. I am on a locked bootloader/stock kernel. ive used 2 programs to root.
try to flash .79 kernel, then root, then flash .84 kernel again, it might work.
Added Root Method to first post!
I found i file call rootxperia.zip, flashed it nthrough cwm and it worked
However, i got my flex cable mal functioned, so im saying goodbye to xpkay soon since in my place there is no way to fix it

I know it works, but you need to unlock the bootloader to do it that way

Firmware request: 32.0.A.6.200 for Z5C Nordic Combined Customized NOBA

Hi all,
Marshmallow is giving me all sorts of problems, but the major one is that people can't hear me while on the phone after the latest OTA update. Battery life was also significantly better on LP, and the phone felt snappier in general than it does on MM, so I would like to go back.
My phone was sold in Norway and was not locked to a carrier, but I have no idea which ROM version is used - I assume Nordic Combined.
I have been able to download 32.0.A.6.200 Customized SG and Customized AU, but the R*G numbers are different from the one available for Nordic Combined - does this make a difference? Can I use one or the other of the ones I already have downloaded and just make things work?
If I need the Nordic Combined Customized NOBA version, I'd be delighted if someone has a copy stored somewhere and would be willing to offer a download link.
Thanks in advance.

Hey guys, found this thread through google. Is this the official Z5C 32.0.A.6.200 version? I'm looking to upgrade to last lollipop before MM and this is what I found. I also would like the Nordic one but I want the stock rom so that I can just upgrade like it was an OTA. I don't need any add ons or root or anything like that. Have I come to the right place?

Thanks for reassuring. Now is there a way to install this without unlocking bootloader or root or anything like that?

Yes, using FlashTool.
This guide is a good starting point:

Thanks a lot! First guide I come across that explicitly says I DON'T need to unlock/root so that's great! Since it was about flashing roms I thought I needed the initial setup. Again, thanks!

Hey, I tried following the guide you provided me and even though it says no root required I get a message while flashing "Root Acess Denied". Woot? I thought the whole point of this was that I wouldn't need root and yet it asks for it? I'm not getting something.

Hi Anthraxiousness,
Did you follow the guide on xperiablog, linked to above, in full? Have you installed all of the drivers as described there? And have you enabled 'USB debugging' on your phone? IIRC you must enable developer mode on your phone by tapping 'build number' 7 times in the 'about phone' settings. USB debugging is then available under 'developer mode' settings.

Hey, yes of course. One thing that stood out was when I installed Z5C drivers from flashtools. One of the Sony ones had a message "Not needed (no device connected)" or something. I tried twice but same nessage. Still ticked green tho. Could that be it?
Everything else was just as the guide said.
EDIT: Here's the one driver that didn't install:
Sony Net (03/19/2015 6.0.6000.16511) Not needed (No device for update present)
As I said, it was still ticked green alongside the other Z5C driver. Also installed Flashmode and Fastmode drivers.

I would still check to make sure the drivers are installed. Look for the indication that drivers are installed correctly after performing this again http://www.theandroidsoul.com/sony-xperia-z-flash-mode-51756/

According to this the device should be in flash mode and LED should be green. Mine stays orange (like it's just charging) and it says "Safe Mode" on the bottom left of the screen. How do I get into flash mode if not with Vol Down + USB? Tried several times but same result. Is there something that needs to be enabled in the phone?
Yes, you should enable 'USB Debugging' under Developer options
Also see here
Okay, finally getting around to doing this after the phone was in for service after the microphone problem got worse and worse, to the point where nobody could hear me.
So, do I add everything from the .7z file into the .ftf I create in Flashtool, or should I exclude the .ta files?

Exclude the ta files.
Flashed 32.0.A.6.200 and it's working, woho!
Thanks to all who piped in, much appreciated.
Now to find a way to get the latest updates for 6.200, but not get the MM update notice back...

Way to remove boot logo from operator.

Hi i bought a Z5C but it got a boot logo from t-mobile is there any way to remove it?
If i make a hard reset or update the android does it get away?
I dont want to root it its brand new.

just look around on these forums!
basically, unlock your bootloader via the sony site, download flashtool, xperifirm, install the right drivers, and flash

You dont need to unlock the bootloader lol that will void your waranty
Sent from my E5823 using XDA-Developers mobile app
So unlocking bootloader voids my warranty.
Some easy way to delete the bootanimation.zip? i tryed trough Astro file manager but i dont have premmison to rename or delet ot that section of phone.
No that won't work.
You need this: http://www.flashtool.net/index.php
Open Xperifirm and download the appropriate firmware. (I would suggest 32.2. file, it doesn't have to match your country per se, depends)
After downloading go to Tools -> Bundles -> Create and point to the downloaded files. This creates the actual FTF file needed.
Click on Flash device, choose Flashmode, choose the downloaded firmware, wipe everything (so make sure to back up your data) and follow further instructions and you're done.
