reverse camera stopped working - MTCB Hardware Development

Hello,
Today reverse camera stopped working on my MTCC device (see attached pics).
When I put the car in reverse I get a green screen before the device boot up, and yellow sign after boot up.
Checked camera and cables on an external monitor, all fine. Must be something wrong with the device.
All other functions are fine.
Anyone had a similar issue? Suggestions before removing the device to check back connectors?
Thank you.
EDIT: This morning picture appeared for a few seconds, after that it just showed for a split of a second and then yellow sign. Later it does not show at all again.
EDIT2: removed the unit and checked connectors, no help. Tried second video input with the second camera and this other video input does not work also.
It seems that external video input is disabled and I can't find the way to activate it. sometimes reverse camera image appears for a split of the second so it makes me wonder that there is some sort of "lock" for video input.
Playing videos from sd card with video app works fine.
Installed different ROM and issue is still there.

Hello,
what is your car model and how/where is connected your rear cam to 12+ and ground? Back Light?

I would say your HU is defective likely a bad solder joint on the video mixer/switch if both inputs behave the same. If it starts working again when the temperature changes that is the sign.

Yeah, it must be a bad solder joint. I'll try to disassemble it one day and check soldering but for now, I just bought an additional small display for the camera, works ok but takes little more space

I had a similar problem, the following solved it for me.
Go to SYSTEM settings, on my unit there was a menu item marked "Protocol Parameter settings" select this and you should see lots of settings relating to reverse camera, sensor and associated CANBUS options. Look for an option like "Reverse video resolution setting" and choose NTSC/PAL. After I changed that, all my video in started working again properly.
Hope this helps!

Hello sir ,
Are you fix this problem ? And how you fix it ? And there is photo to see where the soldiers you talk about so i can check and fix it in my head unit?
Thanks in advance

[Q] Titan's camera issues

I received my Titan device recently and since then the device's camera is not working properly.
When I got the phone the camera was acting superb and I tested it by taking a few shots and a movie roll (all max quality). After the phone did a reboot over night due to drained battery the camera app began to show a black screen instead of a preview and hang up or crash when pressing the shoot button.
I called up the HTC support center in my country and was told that this is a common and known issue with Windows phones and is caused by 3rd party apps using the window's camera API. I got instructed to do a factory resetand afterwards, the camera did work properly, but again for a few shots (obviously after ending the phone call with them ).
So I decided to investigate the matter.
On my phone were installed the 'Skype','Whatsapp' and 'Mykebo free' apps before the reset, none of which seem to have a connection to the camera API (I didn't use Skype's video feature). This made my suspect the HTC's camera control software that maybe interferes somehow with the camera.
I began resetting my device and checking when the camera starts to fail.
Doing a couple of resets I saw that the camera started to fail after connecting the phone to the PC and disconnecting it while the camera app was working (the app itself does not run but shows the Zune 'disconnect to view media' screen). But on the last reset the camera didnt even start.
I am really confused since it doesnt seem to be a hardware issue (the photos were taken perfectly) but neither a camera API malfunction since the phone is used widely and even a best photo competition exists on this forum.
I want to avoid using my warrenty since it includes sending the phone abroad and is a bit costly for me..
Any ideas on what to do next? could it be that the ROM flushed in the phone is corrupt in any way?

Flash its with your device OEM .nbh .... If you haven't done that then maybe something is wrong with an API etc so flashing it might solve the problem.

I will try this out now.
I noticed that on the factory reset menu there is an option to show the OS CRC.
I recieved the values:
BL CRC-0x439025DD
OS CRC-0x6A9EA866
are this OK? the phone is fully patched.

Sensors not present

Hi all,
This is my first thread... I've looked every forum, every existing thread looking for an explanation / solution, with no luck at all... I hope somebody has experienced this with its prime and found a solution, because I'm thinking in RMA it...
The thing is that my sensors stopped working! No accelerometer, no magnetometer. The screen rotates itself to portrait mode when an app asks for it, but it stays that way when exiting the app. I have to go to Settings -> Display to uncheck and check Autorotation to go back to landscape mode. This is annoying! I installed an app called Elixir 2 and in the sensors page only the microphone is listed as present. Every other sensor is displayed as not present.
I noticed it two weeks ago, but I wanted to look for a solution instead of getting it replaced. I think it came with a .15 and it was updated to .21 in the first connection to Internet. I waited for the .28 to be released just in case it fixed the problem, but it did nothing, still has the problem.
By the way, I tried a cold boot and a factory reset... still nothing.
If I can have any word from anyone I will be pleased!
Thank you!
PS: forgive my english, I'm from Spain
Get the app called elixir2. its free. Kirk show u detailed info on everything, including sensors. itll show real time info on them. allows u to cut them off n on or reset them. it might help.

Well, that's exactly what I did! I said it before It just shows an X beside every sensor and under them it says something like "not present" (I don't have the Prime here right now). In that sensors page the only one that is shown as working is the microphone.
Any idea?
Thank you anyway!

Here's a snapshot of the Elixir2 sensors' page.
Hi, I cannot suggest anything new to try.
Today I noticed some of my sensors were not working, tried playing Riptide and found I could not turn. Also tried a level app and found that the orientation was not being detected. My problem was fixed by powering off then turning on again. I did not try elixir2 before the power off, therefore could not say if my prime was in a similar state.
Good luck in getting your prime going again.
Cheers stv

Well, at least someone experienced the same... even with a reset I can't make it work. Is there any "ultra-reset" I can do?
Before .28 I get the same issue.
Sensor can restart after a reboot or a cold start, but after I plug on the dock or after a deep sleep, the sensor stop.
Sometime, after a restart the sensor was not recognized. I use elixir also to check.
Now with .28, the sensor work well.

Did you update to .28 over wifi or using a microSD?
Thank you!
Update done through Microsd.
I have tweaked buil.prop on .21 and result Fota didn't work.
Think also to make a cold reboot and clear cache of all application (can be done with elixir).

demandrin - off topic, do you know where I may be able to get the circiut board that has the microsd slot and the touch screen sensor connectors. I accidentally damaged the connectors and now I can only use the tablet with the keyboard dock as a mini laptop. I emailed Asus but they would not sell me the part. I wonder if Gary would be nice enough to sell me the part.
Is HP the only company that sells parts to customers (I love HP for that reason LOL!!)

An update with my problem: I finally installed the .28 through SD card, having wiped all the data first, and the result is the same: no sensors are present. No autorotation, no compass, no auto-brightness. Elixir shows only the microphone as one of the sensors, everything else is shown as "not available" (as shown on my previous snapshot).
Any help?
Thank you!

And yesterday, with no reason at all, ALL of my sensors (accels, gyro, magnet field, etc.) started working again. I just powered the tablet on and voilà, everything was perfect! Elixir showed all the sensors up and running!
I think this post can be closed now... I hope it doesn't happen again!

GPS hardware fix

Hi Members,
I'm searching for some info which can help me fix/repair my GPS functionality.
Cause: My S6 got little bit flooded. I brought it to service point in order to clean and dry it out. For sure there was SUB board replaced.
Problem: GPS is not working at all. Any application that require this functionality simply fails on GPS fix.
When an application starts, the little GPS bar icon blinks for 3 times and than just disappears.
Questions: Where is the GPS module/antenna located?
Is there a possibility to replace that module/antenna?
Or maybe it is integrated to motherboard?
Maybe service did some mistake like did not connect a wire or something...
Add on: All other radios are working correctly.
Firmware has been flashed (x2)
Any help will be appreciated.
I've find out that the module is attached to the motherboard (pic.1) and the module name is - BCM4773
So, I'm done with fixing unless motherboard will be replaced
But, there is another thing to consider. If I go to the "service menu" using the *#0*# code and perform the SensorHUB Test I get the following result (pic.2):
MCU name:
BCM4773IUB2G
PASS
Looks like the module is working fine or I understand it wrong.
Please can someone with good knowledge, comment the above?
Install this app from Google store.. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chartcross.gpstest&hl=en
Open the app and switch on the GPS of your phone. Now open the menu in the app GPS Test. Select "Settings" tab. This takes you to the menu for the settings of the app. There you will find the two buttons.
Clear AGPS
Update AGPS
Press them now!
You have now successfully performed a reset of the A-GPS data and downloaded an actual version on your Samsung Galaxy S6. Your Samsung Galaxy S6 should now locate you within a very short time.
Best of luck
Thanks for help but there is no positive result ?
I did both commands + restart device.
Well I guess the GPS module is damaged.. but its very strange that it cleared the SensorHUB Test :/

My GPS is flawless. Factory reset and try GPS testing app. If that doesn't work then return phone.

This is the reason why I still live in hope
Try this out. Stupid but worked for me
I got the same problem but after looking for 5 hours. I just ah what a hell. I removed my aluminium cover. Observe its cut out for the gps antenna and main antenna in the back. And voila. Gps test found 28 sattelites and locked right away. Then put the cover back on. NOTHING. So it seems some covers disturb the antennas. But i still feel its strange as the cut out in back. So perhaps it still disturbs it when something is next to it. Let me know if it worked for u too. To remove your cover. Best regards from sweden.

Amazfit Stratos Touchscreen

touchscreen has half not working, anyone has any solution tyo remote control the screen so i can acess the settings?
this Java app can be used to view and control watch via ADB only:
https://github.com/MajeurAndroid/Adb-Remote-Screen
I have the same problem, my right touch stopped working and I can't access the watch options or the last 2 weather information, you can try using adb command to reset the watch, in my case it is still not working. My watch is new and I have used it only for 1 week
I have exactly the same problem. Is this ROM related?
The right side of the touchscreen seems to be working on all other screens - I can for instance access the Compass and the Stopwatch that are also on the right side but on a different menu.
There's a youtube video showing the problem but I can't post because I'm newly registered. Just search for "Settings Button on Amazfit Stratos Not Working" on Youtube.
same problem
my stratos is with the same problem.
one solution would be to develop a ROM with the configuration button on the left side of the screen.

New firmware update didn’t fix the problem for me ?
I tried installing different ROMs but nothing seems to work, i think that the problem is the touchscreen and not software related.
The only way to access the watch setting that i found is to enable the app list using the huami amazfit tool and then swipe at the end and select settings (which is written in chinese).
Since i have the watch bootloader unlocked, i'm not sure if you can enable the app list with the bootloader locked.
Hope it helps. :good:

In my case it is hardware issue, the right touch is not working in any others screen.
You can check the touchscreen response by activating the hidden mode Lab and then enable the pointer location. If i touch the left part it appears the pointer and all the movement that i do, if i try to touch the right part nothing happens, it's dead, hardware issue
I have the same issue. But with latest international firmware 2.3.5.0. Did you solve it? What did Amazfit support say?
Something weird. After some useless rebooting and using the ADB remote screen I can now use the lower right part of the touchscreen again. However now sometimes the widgets just jumping forth and back.
Hey,
I have the same problem.
app control

This app is for Android?
Do you can access settings wifi, time format, ....?
Just use ADB remote screen for this.
Please help, is this above described mostly unresponsive touchscreen (setting icon) a software problem or a hardware problem? I cannot try out because I do not want to loose warranty while flashing back or to the latest chinese beta. I just have recognized it since 2.3.5.0. Thanks!
I did not rinse the watch with water for some days because I did not do workouts with it. Now the touch screen is working more and more again. There is still a dead spot in the middle which makes swiping down the quick settings menu a bit difficult but the settings and brightness icons are now working again. I guess there is water within the watch causing this. Maybe the watch is not as swimmprove as advertised. I just did one pool while taking care of kids. Nothing more. Since it is a swimming watch, water is probably not coming out of it's own.
Good news, I'll trying.
I'll trying good luck for us.

Guys, do you know if that screenshot off the hardware menu of stratos is normal?
I just bought it. First thing as soon as I paired it, it was to upgrade at 2.6.3.1
As I was checking out I noticed that on "Stopwatch" I couldn't press the reset/lap button whatever I tried.
Also at "Timer" I couldn't press the stop button or couldn't select the minutes on previews screen.
It seem to me that the lower left corner off the touchscreen isn't responding.
Does my finding on hardware menu (picture) confirms that?
left corner
P.S. : None intervention was made at the watch. Only upgrading.
I restored to factory settings 3 times and the problem remains.

If you clean it very well and the problem persists, then probably the digitizer (touchscreen) is damaged.
I just got my Stratos back from repair. They apparently replaced the touchscreen. But I don't know if it was caused by water entering the device or just a crappy screen. But now it is working fine.

android tv 55k2a iffalcon display flickering issue

Hi all,
need some help on fixing my out of warranty android TV
After some recent ota update started facing display issues..
Horizontal lines come for a second and any thing on screen create a double image then get normal and then again same flickering repeats..
on this page have video of tv display problem : https://twitter.com/i/status/1333483228804521986
OTA update was from nougat to oreo build 55K2A-V8-T658T01-LF1V562
this tv has Panel ST5461D04-3
Already tried these options to fix it :
a) manually with usb install, downgraded back to old nougat version 55K2A-V8-T658T01-LF1V364
b) manually with usb install, upgraded to further latest oreo 55K2A-V8-T658T01-LF1V814
c) figure out service menu code using code 1 9 5 0 for this TV in that tried Shop Reset, Reset All , NVM reset..
d) service center registered request but nobody came yet
e) android os level factory reset
None of above options solved the issue...Some thing changed in TV with OTA update, not able to figure out rollback..
Please suggest further possible options to TRY OUT on this ?
Software level can try any thing..will not be comfortable opening hardware..
Thanks,
N Yadav
hi all, i almost solved this issue my self at home...
just updating so that helpful to others who read this post in future.
Please try this at your ow RISK. I am not expert on this topic.
I followed one youtube video
90% problem solved. Still there is 10% double image sometimes..not perfectly fixed..
What i done :
I put tape on Left side FFC cable(one comes first from side we plug power cord)
Right side FFC when alone connected then half picture was coming fine
with no double image so learnt issue is Left FFC.
I have no idea on what pins to block for left FFC cable...
after leaving 5-6 pins left side(from direction of power cord input plug) on left FFC cable.
i put a tape may be around 10 pins covered by tape(not sure exact)
I am attaching service manual for this TV.
If any one can GUIDE exact pin nos from left on left side FFC cable i should block with TAPE ?
Thanks,
N Yadav
Guys any update on Iffalcon Model 55k2a software
