I could enable 24 megapixels on the camera with a magisk module, but I couldn't install the stock camera with titanium backup.

You just can't install the Stock Camera APK. For stock camera to work on GSI ROMs stuff needs to be hacked at framework level. We need get a dev interested in it to do that.

It renames the apk's of the cm apps with a .disabled extension so that they aren't recognized as app, meaning they are still there but not recognized, the undo script renames them back
What version is the Moto camera?
Also, can I uninstall the Moto gallery separately, since I already have the camera app.

No not yet I am trying to get a workaround since Motorola only allows stock Motorolas to install it from google play, probably it wil be some build.prop editing.
Well the app doesn't get updated from play store ! Hope u find a way pretty soon

Obviously you can. Open the zip with any file Explorer. Delete the camera.apk. And den flash.

Sorry, but I never found a pause button, the only thing I ever noticed was click for record and click for stop, no pause at all.

Are you referring to the stock CM camera that is is the nightlies? Or the stock on modded one that is in Cyanogen OS 12?

Here's camera next from 17L, it's not a flashable zip just use a root file browser to unzip it and paste the folder into the /System/priv-app folder change permissions and reboot.

Added to OnePlus One index thread:

Dirty flashed over 17L, so far so good.
Audioconfig policy is same as 17L, for those that use viper, you can just use your previously modded one.
Bootanimation bin is same as 17L, so need to replace with modded bootanimation bin to remove memory leak.
SystemUI is different than 17L, for tgise that mod their systemui (like me) you need to redo it.
Dhcpcd is different than 17L, does anyone know if they fixed the wifi problem?

Hi, i have a Galaxy Alpha with a Resurrection Remix 7.1.2 N. The problem that appears to me is an error that shows up as: CAMERA "Impossible to connect to the camera" in this notice there are two options, to signal or to ignore.I would like to know if it's an issue related to the ROM or the hardware, is there any solution for this? If I put more than a ROM It also opens the camera with the original ROM.

Try another roms, for me final RR is working fine btw.
whit RR camera is working but with some bugs, its a Little bit slow and some times broke and need a pone restart but Works for take shoots and video.
i have RR 5.8.4 20170910 weekly (dont use last one because bluetooth call is broken).
the only big problem on my last test its all custom roms for alpha has SafetyNet broken and i cant use my bank App.
u get fail on SafetyNet with rr?

Bug I know: screen mirror, and specifically for z2 corrupted storage (you can fix it with 8.1 kernel) and camera.

1.flash trwp 64 bit and do wipes as 3.
2.flash any 8.1 rom (RR or Viper)
3.Wipe cache, dalvik, system, data
4.flash img rom on system partition
5.flash 8.1 kernel on boot image
6.reboot

1.you can use any Oreo kernel from last builds
2.no vendor.img to flash because you flash it when you flash Oreo rom

So I was trying to debug what actually is breaking down file manger and camera . I extracted device logs and I observed that there's this library called "lib_mot_app6_metadata.so" which is missing for our device in the build. I turns out that this library comes from vendor blobs which are propitiatory, which in turn means that we might need to put this lib at proper path in our device to make these things work . I'm not sure if that's the exact issue but most of the exceptions are generated because of this library only.
Hope someone could make sense out of this. I have attached device log file as well.

I try my installation with the vendor of Mokee rom and I'm doing everything right except the camera, I've tried several GSI and sGSI and in almost all of them the camera works .. !! I have tried several fixes and exchanging files from the camera but I have not achieved anything yet, I hope they are lucky and can share ... !!

Good news for you, using the vendor of the new ViperOS and adding the lib_mot_app6_metadata.so by twrp giving the permissions 0644 I got the camera and lantern running natively

You should use SODP based rom w/ Google service installed. I used that before and it was good, but the instability of SODP made me roll back to the stock one tho.

No. It can't be done with root neither.
