[QUESTION] OEM Unlock not showing on Developer Options - Samsung Galaxy A10 Questions & Answers

So I'm trying to root my phone but is really excencial to have the bootloader unlocked, which you can make by unlocking the OEM in developer options.
The problem is that that option is not on my phone, even after flashing the stock rom with odin, deleting cache data and factory reset.
Anybody knows how to solve it?
Thanks a lot.

Try connecting your phone to the internet and telling it to check for updates. Once it has registered and checked for updates, you should see the unlock option.

be sure to have it logged in to samsung account

Can't use MIUI due to mi account

I'm not able to use MIUI anymore because of the inability to enter my mi account's password.
So a month ago, I created a new mi account by using my phone number cuz i was not able to unlock my bootloader officially. I then did a factory reset but now whenever i start my phone, it asks for Mi account verification password... So even when i enter the password, it shows incorrect password and i cant get past this part so I'm stuck at this startup screen and cant use my phone at all. I even tried resetting my account password but it says "You've exceeded the number of verification attempts allowed within 24 hours." even after waiting for 24 hours before another attempt. It still shows the same error after a month. I think the reason is not verifying the new number after creating mi account.
I would like to add that I've tried contacting Xiaomi customer service quite a few times but they were of no use so I flashed an early MIUI firmware and i was able to access my phone but it was showing no IMEI number so I unofficially unlocked my bootloader and installed CM13. I'm now on LOS14.1 but wanna switch back to MIUI cuz of camera quality. So is there any way that I can use MIUI ever again?
Please help
Try this. Take out your SIM card and don't enable WiFi at the setup screen. It should bypass the account login page.

I tried that as well but it seems that this mi account thing registers itself with the IMEI number so no matter what I do, it asks for the password in the startup.

I really don't know how Xiaomi expect you to login through their system without any SIM/data or WiFi connection.

Thanks. I'll give it a try. Don't have Wi-Fi right now so I'll have to wait for few days I guess.
One question though: After flashing with the oldest firmware, I lose IMEI so do I need to update through Wi-Fi and then create a new mi account?

This is my old acc, i've already unlocked 3s with this account, now i'm trying to unlock note 4, but it shows this error.
Try making new account. When did you unlock thr bootloader of redmi 3?
First, turn that option on.
Second, use an older version of the unlocker, it works without waiting.
The account of the design you logged in HAVE TO BE the same you'll login on the unlock tool + you need the permission for it.

Make a new account
Fix this error by simple steps
Got to developer options, then:
1 > Enable "usb debugging"
2 > Enable "usb debugging (security settings)"
3 > Enable oem unlocking
4 > Then try unlocking tool. Cheers! Hopes this helps.
Make a new account try unlocking and wait for 7 days then again try to unlock. Vollla you have unlocked ur RN4

Unlock waiting time?

Hi,
Has anyone tried to unlock the bootloader on their new phone? If so, what was the wait time you were given by Xiaomi? Am curious as recent Xiaomi phones have vastly increased waiting times for unlocking but as this phone is a global model and supposedly developer friendly I am hoping to not have to wait weeks when I receive mine.
Also, as an oem unlock does a full reset, is there any good method for performing a nandroid style backup of all apps and associated settings so if I do have to wait, I don't need to set everything up twice?
https://en.miui.com/unlock/
not able to apply, after login it just says ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS :/
were u able to apply ?
edit : installed mi unlock on pc then tried, says 1440 hours wtf

AFAIK there is no way to take a nandroid backup without rooting your device. Now if you could root your phone without unlocking the bootloader that might just do.
However there are few exceptions like HELIUM you can try.

Can't get the miss OEM unlocking option back on G965F

Sorry about post a new thread about this again, but my situation seems a little weird.
I got an S9+, from Australia Optus (but I'm in China), with the latest firmware, trying to get the missing "oem unlocking" option back but failed.
In download mode, both OEM and frp is off , RMM state: prenormal.
My procedure is:
1. Reset the phone without SIM card.
2. After finishing the whole setup and get into the destop, I plug in the sim card. (but didn't login google or samsung account, because I can't connect to google service. So if I want to get through the setup, I can't plug in the sim card or connect to Wifi.)
3. Then I connect wifi and login in samsung account to restore my backup.
4. Open Developer Options.
5. Wait 7 days. (the uptime is over 168 hrs, even over 300 hrs)
6. the "oem unlocking" is still missing .
Or the phone must online "the whole" 7 days?
Because sometimes the phone will lose the network in subway.
And the swiching between network and wifi won't make a difference, right?
I've already consult the Australia samsung customer-service, can't help me online. And the Samsung Centre in China didn't have the access to fix an S9+ sold in Australia.
Hope somebody can help me to fix this, I want to install a third party ROM.
You have to reset your device while the sim card is in the device , then in the setup you have to log in to your both google and samsung accounts , then wait 7 days , and it should appear , if it doesnt appearing simply use google to check how to fix the missing OEM Unlock option

You should flash the original fw (mine is optus) and leave the phone without a sim inside, connected to wifi, on all the time. Plugging the chinese sim might not unlock it.

Question unable to unlock the bootloader (A52 5G, SM-A526B)

So I'm trying to unlock my bootloader to root my phone with Magisk (which also patches VBmeta, which is important for me to do). Originally the OEM unlock option was not appearing in my phone's settings, but I fixed that with the date hack (set the phone's clock to 2022-05-01 instead of 2022-08-05). But now when I reboot into the first stage of download mode, the option to unlock the bootloader does not show up, it just has the option to reboot, enter download mode, or show the barcode. When I enter download mode, the KB status shows as ACTIVE. The CSC I'm using is BTU and I'm on the latest CVG2 firmware of Android 12 (OneUI 4.1).
Any ideas?
Anything?
Make sure that USB debugging in developer options is enabled.
Turn off your device.
Hold volume up and down buttons and keep holding them.
While holding them, connect your smartphone to a PC using USB cable.
There will be a warning message.
"... to continue press volume up ..."
Don't just press volume up button, but keep holding it.

So yeah, any region can be flashed on SM-A526B as long as it's the same model.

I'm assuming this question was asked because you weren't getting the option to unlock the bootloader in download mode. Probably the date code wasn't working properly. What I suggest doing is flashing stock firmware with Odin. Completely wipe the phone. Then when you're setting up the phone for the first time, connect to a WiFi network on the setup screen. I've noticed that sometimes OEM Unlock gets bugged when this is skipped and it seems that topjohnwu also caught on to this because he explicitly includes it in his installation instructions of Magisk
Quote from Magisk Installation on Samsung devices:
Go through the initial setup. Skip through all the steps since data will be wiped again in later steps. Connect the device to Internet during the setup.

topjohnwu mentions Internet during the setup but I think it's worked for me better when I connect to a Wi-Fi network.
So after completely wiping the phone with Odin I suggest you connect to WiFi on setup and then check your developer settings again. Hopefully, OEM Unlock will be there without the need to do the date trick.

Well, that warranty repair took longer than expected. I can now report that I am still facing the same issue. I tried setting it back up while connected to WiFi (speed shouldn't be an issue, I get gigabit speeds and on WiFi I've seen 400mbps).
After checking the bit in the download mode menu, seeing that there is no `unlock bootloader` option, and then booting into Android again, the setting just disappears again, after having enabled it before shutting the phone down.
Any ideas?

This is really strange, but I just wanted to add that I'm a U1 US variant owner that was just now looking into rooting and I came across this thread.... before even trying anything I'm already noticing I too have no OEM unlocking option in my dev settings. Really odd. I guess there's the very remote possibility my BL is already unlocked as I bought it used off eBay but I doubt it. I've run several OTAs so that seems very unlikely lol.
For me root is only desired to run Viper4Android so I'm not even 100% sure I want to bother with that now if it's going to be that steep an uphill battle.
---Edit--- Sorry, nevermind I'm dumb, the U1 Us models just aren't BL unlockable. Saw in another thread. All I want is root though, I don't need to flash roms or TWRP usage. Anyone know if that's still doable?
