Experiencing touch unresponsiveness while using phone without holding in the hand. - Samsung Galaxy M40 Questions & Answers

Sometimes when I use my M40 while keeping it on the bed/table/ground (not holding in the hand) it does not respond. Has anyone else experienced this behavior? Phone responds when I hold it in my hand and then use.

Even i am also observing the same.
One more issue i observed is if you plugging the earphones then your phone UI is bit laggy.

Touchscreen sensitivity

Am I the only one experiencing an overly sensitive Sense UI? Perhaps I'm missing a setting. I have looked all through /etc and can't find any way to adjust the sensitivity.
Anyone have a solution?
Touchscreen Spaz-out
I will say: occasionally my touch screen will just go bat-**** crazy, registering even the slightest movements as "clicks". The phone is completely unusable; god help you should you be in the lock screen.
Now, after observing this for a couple of days I have a hare-brained theory: it's related to how hot the device is. I've noticed that it happens after extended periods of use, or when it's plugged into the wall charger. Just unplugging it grants a short reprieve, and a refractory "cool down" period generally fixes it. Also it'll work sorta if you press down on the screen like you're trying to kill your phone.
Can anyone else confirm this?
I was getting a lot of the jitteryness and screen lockups before I loaded MR2, everything seems pretty fine now. I had more problems with my wife's myTouch than the eris for once last week.
I do not have any issues like this (I do have all the updates though)

Random non-responsiveness moments?

this is random but, the touchscreen stops responding occasionally
specifically when i'm playing Mario Kart and holding the A button in for extended periods of time (n64oid)
it's not even when the system is hot it's really peculiar
actually now that i think about it this has happened a few times when i was on my homescreen as well where the touchscreen decided to stop responding yet if i pushed the buttons it still operated
anyone else seen this?
i was hoping it was ram related because i just used bloat freezer and cleaned up the ram nicely
The original X2 i had did this extremely often right out of the box (activation was a PITA)... as in it would work for 5-10 seconds (30 if i was lucky) and the touchscreen would "freeze" while all buttons and everything else were working as normal. Power button to make screen go off/on fixed it, but it would just happen 10 seconds later. Idk how bad yours is but if it is common enough see about a replacement (or hope OTA comes soon and fixes it for ya)
I'm Not Sure What It's Related To, Because I Can't Replicate It To A Certain Time Or Point Sometimes When Opening An App It Doesn't Recognize I Tapped The Icon Or When Texting Sometimes It Doesn't Know I Was Touching The Screen. Could Be Just Another Bug In The Software Which We Hope In The Future Will Be Resolved.
Its got the same feature as the atrix if one screen is pressed for more than 20secs in the same spot the screen turns off. Motorola claims to do this to protect against water damage

Heat problem

Ive noticed that in the sun (and doesnt have to be tropical - Im in the UK), when the phone gets warm the menu related to the main menu button keeps popping up every few seconds. This prevents me from using the phone as soon as I try to do something the menu keeps popping up
Anyone else having similar issues?
This will turn out to be a big problem in the summer

Hi, My xperia mini suffered the same, and i can tell you it'll get worse in days to come, even the phone doesnt get warm, and i hear some users have the same issue too, i think it might because of the capactive buttons cause the popping will stop when the screen turn off ( when u answer phones or turn off the screen )
Check this video too, it from a user that have the same problem

OP, do you have an Xperia Mini or Pro?
I'm getting the same thing on my Xperia mini, when it heats up the back and menu buttons act as if they're being pressed repeatedly. Things go back to normal when it cools down...

Volume buttons hard to use...

My volume buttons have become less responsive. Sometimes I have to press really hard to get it to work (especially the down volume), while other times it is easier, but not perfect. I was wondering what the problem could be... or whether it is the ribbon cable or the buttons itself or if there is just some dust or something... I have to replace my digitizer once I get it in the mail so I will check for sure, just wanted to know if you guys had any ideas on what the problem could be or if anyone else has had this problem before and found a solution...

Totally black screen

Had to do a battery pull last night. Had my phone in my pocket for probably an hour, when I pulled it out the screen was black. LED would flash ocassionally and I think I heard a text so everything was fine except the screen. I have Always On off, and I require either fingerprint, a pin, or OK Google voice recognition to unlock.
Tapping the screen, hard pressing or fingerprinting the power button, volume buttons all did nothing. I guess there's a dialog for powering off the device so holding the power button didn't reboot it either. Eventually pulled the battery and it rebooted fine.
Anyone else had this? Pretty disappointed. Haven't installed any new apps in the past few days. I've heard (and had once) a related issue where the phone takes a lot of presses to turn on the screen—in that situation, Always On is on, it's in your pocket so the phone detects and turns off Always On, and for some reason when you pull it out it very infrequently takes a little while to come on. No idea if they're related.
Do you have a screen protector, skin or case installed? Maybe it's causing issues with the sensors in combination with something else?

Have a case and a glass screen protector but they are not new.

This just happened to me yesterday. Dropped the phone, and it stayed on but the screen is completely black. I opened it up and tried re-setting the display ribbon cable, but that didn't do anything. Anyone have any ideas what the problem might be?
