When it comes to aesthetics this phone as no competitors, i had just phone on a debrand skin, and its best thing that has come to my hand since htc mate, the hold grip the edges all are so immersive, if you guys are using any cases, dont, use it for few days completely naked, and u will thank me, as the touch response is so amazing without covers, though I'm using it will supplied screen protector, I'm curious how it feels without the screen protector, any inputs?

Totally agree with you, this is the best looking, most beautiful device I've ever had

The device is so beautiful and even some of my iPhone fellows look at it by saying waow .I have exynos model aura Glow. Watching hdr movies on it is just amazing and sound quality is excellent throughout that's the device that I place in front of my eyes while sleeping .and guys the update we r getting with android 10 oh man these gestures and animation is so so amazing I m waiting for that update eagerly.

I agree, but life keeps me from using it naked outside the house. But it IS absolutely gorgeous. I got the Aurora Glow due to impatience (its the oly color they had on hand when I went to get one) and thought, "I'll just throw a case on it so I don't look like I'm carrying around a unicorn". But damn if I haven't fallen in love with the look and only got myself a clear case for when I'm out of the house. All around beaut.

Nothing earth shattering and futuristic like the first time we saw the Note Edge or Note 5 or BT pen from note 9. Still has a hole in the camera. Still has a refreshed design. Screen size increased by a hair. Even diluted the brand by making a smaller Note. Could have tossed in a better refresh rate. Lots of design elements on flight pattern until next iteration it seems.

Of all of the phones I have owned this one has to be just as far as looks go the best. I like the boxxy rectangular shape with less of a curve to the display and less round corners which are huge improvements to me.
The build quality is top notch. I like the feel of the phone even as large as it is it is comfortable and light to hold.
I actually like the left buttons. I like the almost entirely screen display. I think if you were to shrink the bezels any more it would be impractical.
I don't normally care what a phone looks like but this one certainly has a lot of personality.

Yes indeed, this is by far the best looking device I have had so far

Now, months later, my opinion is even more valid, the recent box like camera modules are really ugly...
And the note 20 will have horrendous silver rings around every single camera, like those apple and pixel devices

Cam will probably be a slight upgrade, like s20 ultra... don't think it's worth of that sum of money.

90 or 120hz it's really worth it!
I use s20 Plus 5g and 120hz is Great! And 1 year with 90hz on OnePlus 7 Pro.
This is the only minus on Note 10 Plus 5g..

i agree, great phone after coming from s8+....only thing i miss is the notification lights.

Rounded screens suck. That's why I reject the S10.
The phone's bezel is nonexistent from a protective stand point so it need a case 24/7. Lol, I only see the OLED of this phone and the S pen.
Unfortunately Samsung couldn't envision something truly revolutionary like no selfie hole pie hole.
A no hole screen/front cam would kill the selfie ftards for sure....

I have it in a Bolt case. Well protected, Thank You.
It's taken a few corner drops onto concrete with no damage. I replace the first Bolt case after a couple hard corner impacts as they may have caused material fatigue.
The Note 10+ wuvs to corner hit and faceplant.
No joke.
The s pen corner is where it lands on a lot; make sure your case protects this corner well...
Case and screen protector or it will get marred.

slippery as hell
I use a case so it's fine
Slippery at first but can be fixed with a case.
seems pretty good to me, back panel keeps clean and feels nice as well as looks nice.
Have the 2017 GR5 in our stores know and that looks cheap less precision construction in comparison (camera way way better though )
curved back makes it feel nice fit in hand and I much prefer the flat screen over curved edge 2.5G glass which easy broken and impossible cover well with films.
thing I don't like is buttons protrude too much if not using a case so hit power button almost every time handle it naked .
Recently got the Axon 7 and while any metal or glass phone will be slippery (I'd always prefer a plastic/rubber back like the 2015 Moto series), the Honor 5x feels big. It's a slab compared to the A7 which is the same size screen. The 5x is also roughly half the price.
Very slippery. The metal is nice but it gets quite warm, which I dislike. It also gets dented super easily, so after a few months is starts to feel worse because of all the dents and scratches. Mine even has a sharp protruding piece of the case that got bent out above the camera. On the upside it improves the grippiness
Slippery, but a case does the job

i prefer skins.. here: slickwraps
it can be slippery, that is a fact.
but nearly any case can resolve that issue quite easily.
I prefer mine naked, but the slipperiness... I've got a thin case just to avoid the scratches and slips!
Very Slippery but fine with spiegen case
For big hands.
Hi guys. Got this phone as a gift from my wife.
I am a big guy (2,08 mts tall, 12 1/5 shoe size) I love this ****ing phone.
Yes it is slippery, but for guys with big hands as myself, that's not a problem.
I find the fingerprint sensor a delight to use, and it helps as a resting place for my finger to help the phone from not sliding down.
I find the nicely chamfered edges to fit my hand appropriately, and though they do not give a grip to small handed people, the do feel nice in my big-ass hands.
Love this phone for it's premium quality, nicely done finishes and overall thinking of us big people.
The next best thing I can think of is an iphone 6plus. (regarding of size, weight and feel) sure the rounded corners are better, but me, being a modernist and a brutalist architect, prefer hard edges.
This phone is really a good looking piece, shaped to reflect an attitude. I like it.
Loving all of it exept the software. Can anyone recommend a custom ROM? I like mi fingerprint sensor working, and that's all. Overall stock look and functions. I do use photosphere a lot, can it be done with this phone?
I used to use a galaxy 3, but got this piece of equipment given to me. I believe it is fairly superior to the SG3. Just want a stock rom.
Cheers

Even AOKP has same features
Well, I ended up flashing LineageOS.
I was kind of afraid to try any other ROM as I got confused by the many apparent variants of this phone. I had read specs saying it has a SNapdragon 615, some others 616, some others a mediatek, some others a krilin cpu, some come with 1.5gb ram, other 1gb other 2.
Mine has 2gb ram, snapdragon 616, dual sim, latin american variant.
Lucky for me, I stumbled upon a post from a russian guy who had the exact same hardware and pointed out lineage works perfect for him, so I jumped boat.
Now, it's even a nicer phone! (I hate iOS-esque clones)

very good feeling
I come from Notes 3 and the feeling is the same, I felt good from the start!
Coming from OP3 (and S6Edge before that).
1. Can't believe that it's the same size as the OP3 (OK... Perhaps millimeters bigger), so I felts the same whilst holding/carrying it around.
2. Strangely odd to not have the fingerprint scanner on the home button, or the home button itself. Definitely not used to that... For years.
If my phone is in its back. I can't unlock it whilst looking at the screen. I'd have to either type in my pwd or lift it up for fingerprint authentication.

How does it feel in the hand compared to the iphone 6s plus? Same, slightly bigger, need 2 hands to use, etc.
It's wider than the iPhone. You really can't tell, but if you hold the M9 you can freely slide the IP7+ in and out of your hand with ease, because you never grip it.

Mate 9 is a bit wider but shorter.
It's easier to pull down notifications from M9 than iPhone. Mate 9 just looks bigger due to bigger screen, but that's only optical illusion

I think the size/shape of the phone, as well as the quality of materials, is great. But coming from using a Note 3 for 3+ years, I do have a few disappointments, which aren't really specific just to the Mate 9, but the trend of many phones today: My Note 3 had a very grippy back. I felt confident using it without a case that entire time, and no cracked screen. I only used a tempered glass screen protector. Lack of a case allows me to use a "big" phone while still being pocketable. The Mate 9 is VERY slippery. I ended up having to get a case, as I knew I'd be dropping it all the time. So the screen to body ratio, which is one of the Mate 9's key strengths, effectively gets reduced. And while the 2.5D screens LOOK nice, they do make it difficult to get a glass screen protector that goes to the edges. So once you put a protector on, it looks worse than a phone that has a completely flat screen (this, by the way, is why I've never wanted an "edge" phone - to fragile, and impractical to protect). Lastly, I too prefer a front-facing button/scanner. My phone spends much more time face-up than face-down. This is the biggest "usability" gripe I have. Ultimately, a rear-mounted scanner PLUS an under screen scanner will make everyone happy.
I use alien surface for protect screen. And it's edge to edge

The g6 is a beautiful phone. Feels premium in the hand and you only have to hold it to fall in love with it
This phone looks and feels extremely premium. I love my phone and I've been loyal to LG even reluctantly. They a did a great job this time around
?????
I said this is one of kind of phone especially the large screen. However, I hate LG made full screen but didn't allow user to hide the navigation and expand apps to take advantage of large screen size. So, what is the point having a large screen while you lose the bottom of the screen to the navigation? I set all app the use 18:6 ratio but does not work as I expected. I love it but hate it.

I love the look G6. Its amazing
Yeah I often take it out of the case at home because it just looks so damn beautiful. I love the way it is cut and just how tall the screen is. I do admit. I am used to wider screens but since having this phone I find I prefer this tall screen think phone look and feel.
I dig it. Can't wait for the new phone feel to wear off, so I can wear it without the case. Kinda wanting to hear about any screen cracking problems (or lack their of)too.
Got the silver one. I think it looks just as good, compared to pictures.
I love the black one (which is what I have), like less the white one and hate the platinum one... Sorry but a small bezel phone with such good black levels is ruined with a non-black bezel imo!
I love the effect of the screen being invisible when it's off/showing solid black!
Fortunately there is the choice, because for my part I love the ice platinium, the white a little less but it still happens ..
But the black I do not like at all, it spoils all the curves of the phone and this glossy aspect really gives me a feeling cheap ^^
A color that would give me a lot more: Bordeaux red (I do not know if it means something in English, more simply wine color) with the same brushed metal effect as Platinum :silly:

Love this phone best phone I have ever owned.
Love the phone, AT&T/Samsung bloatware I can live without, especially Touch Wiz UI!
I had an IPhone 7 Plus, then a Galaxy S8+, now the Note 8.
Dear me, this is one gorgeous phone. I got my iPhone out the other day to prepare it for sale and damn I didn't miss it at all. It felt far less premium than the Note does, for me at least. This is the most beautiful phone I think I have ever owned.

My screen hasn't scratched but the framing around the back camera already looks like it was dragged on concrete (not really, but is is very noticable). There were a few days I had this phone before I had a case for it. Not sure got it got marked up so much. Must be delicate.
Regardless, this phone is by far my favorite I've ever owned.
Absolutely love this phone! Using it is a joy. And taking out the pen to jot something down or do a quick sketch, just confirms every time for me why I love the Note. For me, it's the most useful device that fits in my pocket. It baffles me why so many others seem to be rushing to remove features and make these things we all carrry around less useful, but the Note series is still a throwback to the opposite approach. Long live the Note!
Lag/Stutter/Jank whatever you call it, single handedly ruins this phone for me, why in 2017 do we still have framedrops? its the only reason I even consider iPhones, as they have far less of it.
Its great all around. I miss the IR blaster, and the fingerprint reader on the back is annoying. But its super fast, has the SD card slot, has great features and a great camera and a great battery life.
So far fantastic.

Extra weight over my old Note 4 and J700T1 makes it feel more solid. With cases off, Note 9 is more slippery than my Note 4 or J700T1. Note 9 feels fancier because of smooth back but would never dream of using it without a case.
It feels almost the same as my Note 8. Slightly wider, slightly shorter, slightly heavier than the N8, but so little difference it's tough to notice. Unless you have one in both hands at the same time, really hard to tell the difference.
I still like the Note 7 for in hand feel overall. I think that phone hit the sweet spot for size/weight and height to width ratio. Alas, our N7's are no more (well, some may have a stray around yet), but that was my favorite phone ever for in hand feel (and my favorite phone ever overall honestly I think).

So funny, I actually still have 2 Note 7's that for some reason Verizon never wanted. I walked in, called and begged for them to take them, but they never did.
That being said, I think you're right about the feel of the 7. It was a perfect device in the hand. But, boy does the performance stink. Turned it on and compared it to my 9 and it is a slug, even with nothing on it. So strange how I don't recall it being so slow when I got it 2 years ago.
Having come from an S7, this unit, while esthetically pleasing, is definitely not a one-handed experience like the S7.
The feel of the Note isn't as comfortable as the S7, the thinner bezels and sharper corners makes holding this device a little more worrisome. Especially when you don't have a case to protect your investment.
While the home button isn't in a position that's ideal, at least it's not right by the camera lens.
The S-Pen is great! It's a nice piece of engineering.
The addition of the Bixby button is a brainfart that needs to disappear, as I have NO use for Bixby at all. Samsung is trying too hard to be Apple. Screw Apple, stop following and start leading Sammy.
Just my 2 Canadian cents.
M.
I think Samsung nailed a home run with this phone. It's not even a comparison with any iPhone, much less a fair fight.
One of the biggest things people don't mention is the input latency with fingers and the s-pen. Better than the 3 iPhones I've had. S-pen latency is great. I still have not seen a number but it is quick.

Agree..
Until I remapped that painful button it was giving me the ****s..
It would almost drive a person to root the phone and put on one of the ROMs that turns it into something useful.
Overall I am coming off the Hauwai P9 that I was pretty comfortable with for 10 months.. it did everything I needed and I didn't feel like I needed to root it.
The note 9 is feeling good..I have big hands so don't have a problem with it in one hand.. so between 2 thumb typing and a finger and a thumb (2 hands).. I can get a good typing speed up.
Still not sure on the case and screen saver I will settle on.. have got a few going at the moment and playing between them..
The heavy duty one makes the phone a bit big.. but still feels fine and don't get the feeling that I have to be too dainty with it..
The carbon fibre cover I am using now feels a bit like the phone is going to slip out of my hands.. today I was concerned while I was shopping and pulled it out..
I use gnotes for shopping lists thus will have it out a few times with one hand on the trolley and one hand ticking off items..it's at that time I am feeling that I would not want to drop this or it's going to make for a bad day..
But in saying that.. I use a tablet holder in bed for YouTube/gaming or reading..and finding the using it as a back rest while I flick through threads and type them this takes that too heavy feel out of it..
I would say this is a big as I would want with a phone..
I wish one day Samsung would banage the curved edges.

Yes they are a pain in the ass. It cause me problems instantly when I bough mine yesterday. Had it in the holder in my car and the sun shine on the phone and the edge reflected the bright sunlight and blinded my eyes. It also catches smudges all the time when just holding the phone. It reflects light when looking at the screen taking away screen estate. There´s nothing good with edge at all! Only problems.

Sooner the current fashion ceases better. Personally, I envisage another S or Note line without the" show off " edges.

I guess edges are less pronounced on this Note than S series ? or may be just got used to it.
Reflection on the side is an issue on curved screen.

I agree. Especially the last paragraph.

Well used to have the iPhone X and to be honest I do have small hands so the note 9 feels a bit big on my hand, but also with time I'm having a blast with it, I wish the the fingerprint scanner be a little bit lower.
The back scratches easily, is a fingerprint magnet and is slippier than a penguin on ice.
I prefer Oneplus's sand back or rubber. These high gloss high slip phones are the dumbest thing to ever be invented. The slip off sofas, smash. Slip out of your hand, smash. Yuk.
Hi there! Did I read you correctly ...
"Until I remapped that painful button..."
This sounds like you have successfully done that!
If so, please share how you did it!
Thx a lot in advance,
Yours truly

Is not as confortable as the S series but pretty good
Would anyone care to comment on overall durability? Obviously if you drop it without a case on it is going to smash to pieces. Those who have dropped the phone on a hard surface with a case on, how did it fare?

Got 2 drops of about 1 meter high. No cracks, no damage luckily I'm using a cheap silicon case with whitesone dome on screen.
Phone feels solid but you know....glass is fragile.

Thanks for the reply. I was actually just about to purchase but did not realise the entire back is glass!! Pretty big deal for me, I'm coming from the Galaxy Active series. Obviously I'd put a sturdy case on it but not sure if this is the one for me, I'd be absolutely devastated if I smashed the back. Goodbye waterproof.
Stylus
The Note 9 feels great... but the stylus "clicker" hurts my hand when using. I have to wrap tape around it. The edges are sharp.
