How to install TWRP when i have Lineage OS on Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hay,
I have problem with twrp. I flashed it and flash lineage os with gapps but then before reboot i had an alert that "no os installed" Afted reboot i had problem to open twrp but when i did it i had this alert again. so i leave it and after some hours i flashed one more time lineage os but without gapps because still was alert but after reboot the lineage OS started. Now when i want to open recovery mode to twrp i see only recovery mode from lineage and i do not know how to install now twrp Can anyone help me? I am learning this still :3

I had same problem with not being able to permanantely install TWRP on my XA2 Ultra with LineageOs16.
All I found out with google is that because the XA2 Ultra is A/B slot based, you need to temporarily boot the twrp image and then install the twrp zip file via the temporary twrp recovery.
BUT......I cannot find a seperate twrp zip file for the XA2 Ultra!!!!
So i am left with just having to temporarily boot into the twrp image when i want to use it!!! that sucks!!
If anyone has any solutions to permanantly install TWRP for the Xperia XA2 Ultra, then please advise...
Thanks to all,
Jake

TWRP for the SGP621?

I've flashed the TWRP from the official TWRP downloads and am trying to install the LineageOS beta, using the img for SGP621 (LTE version of Z3TC) but TWRP claims I have a scorpion_windy and refuses to flash. Is there a specific scorpion (non-windy) version of TWRP? I see that the TWRP download page specifically says "TWRP for Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact Wi-Fi" but I haven't found any other official TWRP for the Z3TC.
OK, so I've found some multirom img files for the non-windy scorpion but they will not start. With the official windy TWRP, I just flash that ro FOTAKernel with fastboot and then I can start it by holding down VolDown when starting. WIth the unofficial ones nothing happens, the device just boots to the Sony logo and then to stock software. Is there a special trick to flashing the unofficial multirom TWRP images?
If anyone is looking, found this and will try it. It boots as expected to TWRP with Volume+ dusing the sony logo.
What are you on? Marshmallow or Lollipop?

Sony z2 can't access twrp or any kind of recovery mode that was installed

Hello,
I have a sony z2 D6503 android 6.0.1 (flash the 6.0.1 so i can force it to update) bootloader unlocked and previusly install xzdualrecovery (for the 6.0.1 force update),
now the after i year from when i install the 6.0.1 i didn't need to access recovery mode, until 1 week ago when i wanted to flash with resurrection remix 7.1.2 nougat, so i try first to access to twrp by hardware button, nothing happen (neither the led notification light turn pink so i can't access to recovery).
Then i try to flash again twrp or any different recovery from adb, and i try again either from adb and manually to access to recovery, and nothing again.
So i install kingroot, root the phone and use quick boot or other app so i can access to recovery from them, and nothing again.
So after that i factory reset the phone (to 6.0.1 because is the only available on my phone since the time that i flash it) and did again evey single step that i mention before.
I read every thread, post forum for everything, adb problem , bootloader, twrp, recovery and other but neither of them help.
In the end i was force to open a thread here so maybe you can help me.
Phone info: SONY Z2 D6503 android 6.0.1 build: 23.5.A.0.570

Can't update twrp? Or find a cwm download for an Xperia z3 tablet compact Wi-fi

Ok so Let me go through the whole story. I wanted to root my Xperia z3 tablet compact SPG611 and I was being a bit of a noob so I opened the bootloader and I was so eager so I get on to rooting as I did it before on my Xperia z3 but on that I dropped it and it broke sooo... but yeah I went to this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/z3...ment/advanced-stock-kernel-twrp-root-t2959720 and flashed this onto my tablet. But I had 2 problems I was in a boot loop but I was able to go to recovery and the twrp is at v2.7.1.0 so my clever self decided to wipe everything, I mean everything off of the tablet and I didn't back up. This meant that I had no os installed and I can't download a custom rom because there is always a problem, mainly cannot execute updater-binary when I flash paranoid. Also when I flash a newer version of twrp through fast boot it says finished okay but doesn't update on my tablet.
So I'm basically asking has anyone either got a way of updating twrp or a download for another recovery and has anyone got either a stock rom or a custom rom that they dowloaded on a Xperia z3 tablet compact SPG611 that actually worked.
Sorry for the long issue but can someone please help it would be the most appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
I always embed both twrp, SuperSU and Xposed Framework inside the kernel with the Rootkernel script. The only downside is that you have to use this procedure when updating Xposed and SuperSU.
After you created the patched kernel, just flash the kernel with fastboot. After that you have twrp (and SuperSU and Xposed if you included those).

My z5 compact don't start after installing TWRP

Hello,
I tried this morning to install a custom ROM for my sony xperia z5 compact. Unfortunately, it remains crashing on the "Sony" screen
I unlocked the bootloader via the official link https://developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader/unlock-yourboot-loader/. Until then no worries, everything worked well.
Then I wanted to install a TWRP recovery via this link https://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/twrp-3-1-0-z5-z5c-z5p-t3571050
I was able to flash it without worries but when restarting, TWRP asked me if I wanted to install the app, I put OK and from there, impossible to start my phone. "always stuck on Sony screen".
this is my config : E5823 / 32.4.A.1.54
I want just to start my phone. Is there possible to put a stock version? thanks
This is very urgent to resolve it unfortunately
Thanks for your help
you can close this subject, problem solved. Thanks
Wanna share how you fixed it?
Yes sure,
I flashed my recovery with the TWRP 3.1.1 posted before with the command "fastboot flash recovery {name_of_file.bin}" and I did a flash of the boot with the good version of boot with the commande "fastboot flash boot {name_of_file.bin}.
I founded the good boot at this address for my version : https://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-compact/general/32-4-1-54-coming-t3685995

Hi, which TWRP version are you using ? Allowed system partition modification ?
install lineage os microg when I do it it returns twrp with more basic options I have tried flashing the latest twrp with lineage os microg but it doesn't boot the system and makes me flash lineage os microg again when I do it it modifies more basic twrp I don't know why that happens

Edit: what I wrote below is wrong. You're likely running into a Magisk 24.3 bug
-------------------------
This probably doesn't answer your question - but installing Magisk permanently may not be possible. My unscientific opinion (based on my recent experiences) is you may need to install everything in one shot - i.e. no reboot. I recently managed in install Lineage 15.1 from stock using twrp by:
rebooting into fastmode
installing twrp
rebooting into recovery (the one shot I had - if I rebooted at this stage, twrp would be gone! So avoid rebooting from here on out. )
Install lineage zip, then microg & any other packages you want
Reboot into lineage - twrp no longer available
I couldn't get twrp to stay installed even when I tried to install it to system, I figured that's because pollux_windy doesn't have a recovery partition. Also - I'm going off memory, so I may have gotten things wrong. However, it took me about 3 attempts to get things right (at times lineage wouldn't boot, IIRC, I may have forgotten to wipe the cache). I was following the steps in the wiki and used the following versions, accoding to my downloads folder:
twrp v3.6.1_9-0-pollux_windy.img
open_gapps-arm-8.1-nano20220215.zip
lineage-15.1-202000220-nightly-pollux_windy-signed.zip
