You can root your HTC desire 816g mt6582 (not the octa-core version) manually by flashing a recovery and then using the flashable SuperSU zip file.
This process worked for my device and I am not responsible for any harm caused by this process to your device.
Requirements:
1. Android SDK or minimalistic ADB & Fastboot
2. Recovery image
3. SuperSU package
4. Patience
Download CWM recovery from the link given below:

1. Connect device in debugging mode to your PC/system with adb and fastboot tools.
2. Use the below command to boot into fastboot mode:
adb reboot bootloader
3. Use the below command to flash the downloaded recovery image to device:
fastboot flash recovery Name_of_recovery_file
4. After flashing recovery you have to use the hardware keys to boot into recovery.
5. Use the volume buttons to navigate in recovery and power button to select an option.
6. Select option "Install from SD Card"
7. Select the SuperSu package in SD card.

If you only want to install custom recovery then follow installation instructions till step 5 and reboot.
Install Recovery for only one boot
Some users may not want to install custom recovery over stock but have to use custom recovery for flashing. They can change the command in Step 3 to this new command and proceed.
fastboot boot recovery Name_of_recovery_file
Please go through the steps carefully before proceeding.
All the best.
Proceed with caution and only if you know the risks of anything going wrong.

[Tutorial] Get Recovery working on UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER, when you're on MM NO DATALOSS

Hello,
I noticed that many people want to get recovery working on Marshmallow-Beta. Most people don't want to loose there data, settings ....
So I thought about writing a little Tutorial.
We need:
boot.img with included Recovery
TWRP for unlocked Bootloader
FTF of the .264-firmware (you can download it via XperiaFirm (keep in mind selecting your Phone (e.g. D6503))
flashtool and it's latest update
A few GB space on your SD-Card
MM-Beta-Zip
Installed Drivers
Time
The first thing we need to do is to backup our Data, but How to do this without Recovery, TitaniumBackup isn't a good solution.
So .. one way would be to flash a boot.img, so we can boot a recovery, which is included into that file
Step1: Shutdown your Phone (you should have at least 50% battery for a safe flash)
Step2: Connect your Phone to your Computer, while pressing the Volume UP Button (if you have a blue light you're now in fastboot-mode)
Step3: flash the boot.img (fastboot flash boot stock-17.1.1.A.0.402-sirius-repack.img via cmd) NOW YOUR PHONE CAN NOT BOOT TO MARSHMALLOW ANYMOREStep4: Connect Phone to PC and backup your Data From internalSD
Enter recovery and make a backup
Step1: reboot your phone (fastboot reboot), then press the vol down Button repeatedly, until you enter the recovery.
Step2: make a backup and select everything, but boot IMPORTANT !
Flashing new bootloader
Step1: shutdown your phone completely
Step2: start flashtool and select the thunder symbole + flashmode
Step3: select your downloaded FTF and select wipe Userdata+Apps-Logs
Step4: plug in your phone with vol+ pressed, so that you're in flashmode
Step5: flash firmware
Flashing TWRP
Step1: Shutdown your Phone
Step2: Boot into Fastboot
Step3 Flash TWRP for unlocked bootloader : fastboot flash recovery recovery.imgRestoring MM
Step1: Shutdown your phone
Step2: Boot into Recovery (hold Power and VolDown, release Power when phone vibrates)
Step3: flash MM-Zip
Step4: restore your Backup
Step5: restore Internal-SD-Backup-files to InternalSD---
Done
OK, thanks
So you mean we're going to use TWPR's backup function. But does TWRP Backup restore internal sd's general files(photos, songs....etc)?
Flashing ftf with wipe userdata option will wipe EVERYTHING on my internal-sd, including photos and songs. So It's no use if twrp cannot restore them
Or do you write this guide only for people who only want to keep their appdata and settings(/data/data, /data/app)?
Also, you mentioned about NEW Bootloader of .264 firmware. Many ppl told me that I should update to new BL to install recovery in MM.
Does the NEW BL has seperated partitions for each recovery and boot(kernel)?

You're right .. I didn't noticed that internalSD is wiped, too. But you can back up it via PC in Recovery or in Android
@backupfunction ... No Recovery has the option to backup InternalSD (because the developers think its useless)

Problem with twrp

Hello good afternoon!
I recently upgraded the ROM to this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-max-2/development/rom-project-xtended-shakeme-t3794392
It ran all as expected, however, when I boot into recovery mode, to install the magisk and do root, I noticed that the twrp does not work as normal and does not allow the installation of zip or img. I went to "Mount" and was without the mark on "... read only".
When I click on "install" the storage folder appears empty ...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77374349&postcount=473
The twrp is version 3.1.1-0, I think it is outdated, I do not know if that will be the problem.
How can I solve this problem?
How can I update twrp?
Heyyo, the instructions for that ROM start with "Verify that you're using the latest version of TWRP."
Now there's only these methods you can use to update TWRP so it'll work:
First method:
1. Download latest TWRP on your PC https://dl.twrp.me/x2/
2. Reboot phone to bootloader (hold power and volume down until the phone reboots and you see the bootloader screen pop up and then release the buttons)
3. Plug in a USB cable from your PC to your phone
4. Hopefully you have fastboot on your PC, otherwise please check Le Max 2 or any Android guide for fastboot and ADB utilities.
5. fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.2.3-0.img
6. If it completes successfully? Reboot to recovery (hold down power and volume up buttons until the phone reboots and you see the word "recovery" on the screen)
Method two:
1. Download latest TWRP onto your phone
2. Using an OTG adapter and a USB flash drive, copy the TWRP image to your USB flash drive using the file manager or download one from the Play Store (I recommend Amaze File Manager since it's free and open source software and works great).
3. Reboot to recovery
4. Mount > USB-OTG
5. Install > tap "install image" button > tap "select storage" button and select USB-OTG > select twrp image > select to install it to recovery > swipe to install.
6. Reboot to recovery and it should reload latest TWRP.
Method three:
1. Wipe > tap "format data" button > type yes > tap checkbox.
2. Reboot to recovery
3. Use a PC to copy latest TWRP image to your phone and ROM and Magisk and Gapps as your data will be reformatted.
4. Install all of it and reboot to system
Also, Magisk must be installed immediately after the ROM for SafetyNet to function properly, so I recommend wiping Dalvik, system, cache and data and then install ROM, Magisk and Gapps at the same time and then reboot to system.
Thanks for the super complete help !!
I will see then!

Unofficial TWRP & TWRP installer for MOTO one Power

This TWRP & TWRP Installer is Unofficial.
Official TWRP Can find on following link : https://forum.xda-developers.com/one-power/how-to/official-twrp-motorola-one-power-t3848354
NOTE:- Decryption support available now for TWRP in Fastboot mode only (TWRP installer currently not support for decryption)
Credit & Thanks
@erfanoabdi for bringing officeal TWRP for MOTO one Power
Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP) is an open-source software custom recovery image for Android-based devices. It provides a touchscreen-enabled interface that allows users to install third-party firmware and back up the current system, functions often unsupported by stock recovery images. It is, therefore, often installed when rooting Android devices, although it isn't dependent on a device being rooted to be installed.
Warning:-
I am not responsible for bricked devices.
Your warranty will void now. Do it at your own Risk.
Requirement:-
1. Unlock Bootloader Link By @rushiranpise :- https://forum.xda-developers.com/one-power/how-to/guide-motorola-one-power-unlock-relock-t3858797
2. Minimal adb & fastboot install on pc :- https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790
Note: - As google introduce the partation AB for android one devices so there is no recovery partation sepereatly .
We need to patch recovery into Boot.img.
Guide:-
1. Download Twrp recovery.img & TWRP Installer. keep TWRP_recovery.img in adb folder and copy twrp insatller to sd card of phone
2. go to settings/about phone/build number (tap build no for 7 time now developer option available in settings)
3. go to developer option turn on usb debugging .
4. then go to pc download and extract and copy adb fastboot driver folder in Drive C. (or install form net.)
5. Go in fastboot folder which is copied to C. press and hold shift key on your key board and click right key on your mouse . it will show option open cmd here or open power shell window here.
6. Click it, A cmd window will open. or you can open CMD in pc as admin and use cd cmd to adb minimul folder.
type "adb devices" - it show some no of your device in cmd window on pc if not just revoke adb from your phone developer setting and give permission from your phone screen)
type "adb reboot bootloader" your phone reboot in bootloader mode.
Now Type in CMD :-1. fastboot devices (a device no. will show in cmd window on pc) if not means fastboot not installed properly reinstall it.
2. fastboot boot TWRP_recovery.img (phone will boot in twrp temporary)
(Now if you want to read your internal storage in twrp then you need to wipe by select format data option at bottem right of twrp. Beware it will erase all data from your phone ) if you not want then skip this
3. select install option and select sd card from select storage option from twrp.
4. select twrp installer which you copied into sd card and install.
Done TWRP now installed into boot. reboot to recovery and then reboot to system.
Note:- you need to flash this installer after every rom flashing or boot flashing to patch boot again because now twrp is inside the boot itself
New Link TWRP3.3.1 (update)- https://drive.google.com/open?id=1iRpOyUA-FleNwiWO7Rmu5kEeWjgmDBox (decryption support)
Link TWRP3.3.0 (update)- https://drive.google.com/open?id=1k5nZ3AfAd8GEkbPN3ntPj7c922VbqqfZ (decryption support)
As in TWRP 3.3.0 there is no need of twrp installer zip, in advance function of twrp there is option to install ramdisk into boot. this option is available but not working for us . it is installing but stuck on teamwin logo so use only as boot in twrp don't install it.

How to Take Nandroid Backup and Restore (Only for Decryption support twrp)
1. boot into twrp via fastboot and enter your pin or password to decrypt.
2. Most important - go to backup and unselect oem and system and vendor. (there are two system and vendor unselect one and only select system image and vendor image to take backup)
3. now select storage where to take backup either internal or external or usb otg.
4. take backup.
5. For restore select restore and do.
6. step 2 is most improtant never use these partition to take backup or restore.
Note:- if after restore phone not boot properly or any issue don't panic restore stock rom(which backup you have) & boot and do process again to resotre. always better to restore only boot, system image and vendor image and data only.
Version-4
added all official support in this
Removed MTP & fix bugs for wiping partition
Removed Toybox & included busybox
advance versoin then official TWRP(Compiled with PIE source)
Decryption Working now (Not in installer)

try transferring the .img file to sd card first and then try the same command
maybe it will help
you can try these methods too:
i) check if the bootloader is getting lock again
ii) you've turned on oem unlocking in develeper options
iii) check the partiton isn't corrupted
and if these does not help you try factory resetting your device.
good luck

if you are still getting this error
I find a way to get through it
just enter the command and press enter without connecting your phone
it will show that its waiting for device
then get into the bootloader by holding down power and volume down button
then connect the phone to pc
it should do the work

Question Custom recovery???

Hi, I wanted to know if there is currently a working custom recovery for Redmi note 11s, if so which one and how to proceed ... thanks
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/root-poco-m4-pro-4g-fleur-using-magisk.4449193/post-87460153
When you on Android 11 its working like charme, but when you on Android 12/13 it doesnt work, because of the encryption problem. you cant mount data...
when you will install (you need a sdcard):
1. boot to fastboot
2. fastboot flash boot "twrp.img"
3. fastboot reboot (reboots to twrp)
4. put the stock-boot.img on your sdcard and flash it with twrp to boot -> select both partitions (a/b)
5. go to advanced -> flash twrp
6. format data
7. reboot to recovery and test if you can mount data
8. reboot and enjoy!
