Bluetooth Tab S6 - Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Questions & Answers

Interesting.
My Denon PMA-60 AMP, with Bluetooth, has worked flawlessly with the Tab S3, S4, and 5e, but it will not get picked up whatsoever by the S6??
I stream to this device, from Spotify, as I have always done, but no go with this one.
Enabling 'Developer Mode', and tweaking the various Bluetooth settings in there, make not a jot of a difference either?
Anyone else with Bluetooth problems, and can shed a light on this, or is it an Android 9 problem?

Forget it guys
Done a factory reset, all OK now, so dunno what was wrong? I had nothing on the device, but there ya go, all good now.

Bluetooth Radio

Hi All
I've got the HTC Leo (radio 2.06.51.07). I'm having a problem with the Bluetooth functionality.
My car has the Ford Microsoft Sync capability in it. The phone is troublesome, the music player (via A2DP) won't change tracks from the car interface, only works sometimes. The play button doesn't always work either..it works fine provided I change tracks via the phone interface. I have tried a soft reset and hard reset.
I want to try another radio version ( I think this is related to the Bluetooth, right?). Do I need to reinstall my ROM everytime I do this or can I do it on the fly?
Also, which radio versions will work with my ROM version? (1.66.405.2 (766410 WWE)
I just wanted to say i have the EXACT same problem as you with my Nissan nav system + bluetooth. The phone connects within 10 seconds or so after starting the car, but getting music to begin playing is a real chore and behaves as erratically as you described. Often I'll lean on the FF/RW keys to force it to shuffle, then hit pause or play and it will just start working all the sudden. Once it is going I can choose songs just fine, but if I try to pause good luck getting it unpaused.
Yes that's the same thing I'm having.
I noticed today that if I remove the phone from the sleeve (the leather pouch we were supplied with the phone) it seems to work more often?
I notice that with my bluetooth headphones, if the phone is inside my jacket pocket, the bluetooth reception is really crap... the music starts to cut out as its playing.
I wonder if it's something to do with the reception or bandwidth available over A2DP? Maybe I'll drop the sound quality of the A2DP right down and see if it works better then.
i had similar problems trying to connect the phone to my parrot hands free kit in my car (i still havent got it to work). try radio 2.11, its not the latest but seems to be the most stable. you with have to install hard SPL on your device, but wont have to re-install the ROM. after that give it a try, if you still have issues, have a look at tweaking the bluetooth settings through an app called hd2tweak. there is a section called bluetooth which has a few options you can change, you may need to increase the bitpool. also check that you have added the bluetooth device on the phone and that it is an authorised device and the incomming connections are accepted (this is in the standard bluetooth options). also try disabling SAP (SIM access) and see if that helps, i have to have this disabled to use my blueotooth headset, no idea why though
Is your Bluetooth always visible turned on?
If not, slide over to the settings tab and select all settings from the menu. Select the Bluetooth icon and it will ask if you want to turn Bluetooth on, tap yes. A screen will appear with the settings button in the upper left corner, tap it. A menu will appear, select the discoverable entry (the binoculars) and make sure the always visible radio button is selected. That should do it. Before making this change, the pioneer Nav. system in my car was having difficulty finding the phone. Since the change everything has worked just fine. I hope this helps.

Hi thanks for the hint... I checked and it is set to always visible but I can see how that could have affected it! Thanks anyway

Thanks for letting me know, I'll give that a go and post the results back. I upgraded the Radio to 2.10.50.28_2 a few nights ago, that didn't seem to make much difference, I'll try the 2.11 (if I can find it!)
Ok I think I have figured out whats going on here. It's the sense player at fault. I switched to windows media player and let it import all my tracks/playlists, and it plays the songs 100% perfect without delay every time. I can even get more track info on the nav screen, like album etc. Pause/Play/Skip work flawlessly.
I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!! You are absolutely right!
It works like a dream now. I wonder what the hell it is that is different in the HTC sense player?!
Does anyone know why the HTC sense player ignores some commands but answers others?

bluetooth not auto pairing

I have managed to pair my phone with my parrot hands free unit in the car. How ever it will not remember the pairing, and each time I step into the car I must manually pair, any ideas?
hmm... from past experiences from SGS1 and SNS
they are bound to automatically re-connect to my car for BT audio streaming, i use it practically everyday
that being said, the experience is the same with past old phones like Treo and Windows phones, although those had some minor annoyances. similar to what you have just described specially the windows phones.
so, it might be possible the SGS2 BT audio profile might not be fully compatible with your car BT receiver.
does it automatically pickup phone calls using the BT headset (handsfree) profile ?
Same here too! Sometimes with my Motorola S7HD or my Sony car stereo x.x
I'd have to go to Settings -> Wireless network -> Bluetooth and manually pair them myself. Ugh.
Any fix for this guys?
I know it sounds silly but after pairing are you accepting the notification to always allow it to pair?

I have this problem with my landrover bluetooth, (I have to pair each time I use the car) However I have never seen a notification to 'always allow it to pair' am I doing something wrong? or is there a setting somewhere that I have missed.
Tom
In my case the problem is not actual pairing. I have a Pioneer bluetooth car stereo. It has been paired but for it to see the S2, the phone must be made visible each time. Despite being paired it still needs to be made visible.
Despite extensive searches, I have never found a way to make it permanently visible. There is a silly timer which turns off visibility after 120 seconds.
Previously, with my old Windows 6 and even Windows 5 phone, I used to just go into my car and go - no fiddling with phones - never even took it out of my pocket. Now I need to make it visible each time and this really bugs me.
Don't tell me it is more secure - that's my choice and should not be Android's choice.

have you tried editing the /system/etc/bluetooth/main.conf file
there is a line
#how long to stay discoverable mode before going back to non-discoverable
#The value is in seconds, (0=stay pairable forever)
DiscoverableTimeout =120
Needless to say try it at your own risk, you will probably need a rooted phone and something like root explorer to edit the file.
Hope this helps
Tom
I too have the same problem. My Philips SHB1400 does not get auto paired. I have manually pair it when ever I want to make a call. Never had this problem with same BT Headset and Nokia 5800

I tried that but I am afraid it doesn't work. I think other people have also tried it in other threads and it does not work either. The timer stays at 120 secs
has anyone tried playing with the blacklist file in the above directory? I tried renaming it and rebooting but it made no difference for me, but my Landrover is not specificaly blacklisted.
Pairing bluetooth with Caddy SRX.... NOT....
I downloaded the Bluetooth File Transfer app and that worked for awhile ... off and on ...... but hasn't worked for two weeks now. I've been to Cadillac - I've been to ATT store - everything is checked correctly that needs to be. This has been ongoing issue for a year now. Any other new updates about this problem ?
Thanks.
I do not get the 'notification to always allow it to pair' on some devices but do on others.
Anyone know why?
I am trying to pair a Uniden cordless phone and keep getting the pin request every time I connect.
While on my car I do get the always allow pair request and everything is fine.

Bluetooth Stack Protocols

Hi Everyone, I'm new here - just made an account because I cannot figure this problem out. I just started playing around with Xposed and I LOVE it by the way! but unfortunately that's not why I'm here. I have a Headrush bluetooth headset, it's great, has a built in mic, a2dp & works for calls even on a old ipod touch 4th gen for some reason though, my Lenovo a-5500f a8 ideatab running android 4.4.2 won't read the mic, I only have the media option, no call option.
I don't know what to do. there's like nothing at all on this, I read ONE forum that someone was experiencing my problem, and the only answer was that it's most likely because it's a WiFi tablet & wasn't meant to make phone calls on. I love my tablet & my headphones & would really be blown away if I could find a solution to this. I'm good with Linux & Windows, just learning Android stuff & it's really similar to Linux so it's not too far off, but I'm so clueless on this..
So an overview: my tablet won't detect the mic/phone call protocol for this headset, the headset works 100% on all other devices except for my new tablet.. I also have a few USB OTG's, is it possible I could perhaps run another bluetooth through a OTG? SixAxis works great, I can connect a controller, but not this mic..
any brainstorming to this helps, thank you.

Pandora no longer working.

Hi, Folks, I got the Huawei Mate 10 Pro (BLA-A09), Version 8.0.0.119 and use Pandora in my Cars often.
In my Cars, I got the Pioneer AVIC-7200NEX.
Until recently, I was able to connect to the Pioneer easily, got the Songs on the Screen, can sort through Stations, got the Art on Screen, etc.
Not anymore. The Huawei will connect via BlueTooth, runs the Phone, etc. Just not Pandora.
Tried it on both Cars. same result. Unable to connect. The Phone is paired, just won't talk to Pandora.
What I've done so far:
Clear Cache, perform Disk cleanup.
Re-set Network settings.
Remove all BlueTooth devices from the Car and the Phone.
Re-paired.
Un-install Pandora, reinstall it.
I'm ready to fire up my old trusty Samsung Galaxy S6 again.
Anyone?

I have the same model, and have issues occasionally with connectivity with Ford Sync, and a Sony head unit also. Rebooting and /or re-pairing does the trick for me.
Since 119 just rolled out, did it work with 112? No mention of bluetooth changes with 119, but it also wasn't supposed to break the camera. So who knows? There is a thread with firmwares for this variant in the ROM's section I believe. You could downgrade to 112, which is a pretty drastic step. Pandora updates frequently, this could also have caused issues. Look for older versions online. Shouldn't be too hard to find the APK's. This would be what I would try next. You have tried most everything else at this point.

Thanks for the reply. No, the new update (C567patch01) didn't do anything. Everything esle is working fine, I can still use Pandora through Blue tooth Audio, just can't control it anymore, like selecting stations, thumb up or down, etc.
Very annoying. This Phone was working really well until this happened.
I don't think I'm ready to downgrade to an older Firmware just yet. Perhaps I'll so a re-set next.

Anyone else having bluetooth issues?

I haven't used bluetooth much on this phone yet, so I don't know if this is device specific or a general problem. Anyway, my phone pairs with my car bluetooth dongle and works normally the first time, but when it's already paired it just won't connect, no matter what. It works again if I unpair it and pair it again, but that's not very convenient...
Has anyone else noticed this kind of behavior and is there a fix for it?
Try clearing the system cache and a network reset.
Well, I don't know what happened or changed but today it just worked... Weird.
Ah, turns out with this phone, I just need to wait until the dongle is properly initialized before trying to connect, otherwise it just gives up and won't even try again.
With my old Huawei, I could do it straight away and it would connect when it's done...

Try in safe mode. May have a 3rd party app conflict.
Could also be a coincidence and the crappy dongle is giving up.
It's a cheap eBay bought one that renders an mp3 file on the fly so the car stereo can play it like normal flash storage. My wife's Xiaomi also had some issues connecting to it yesterday, and today as I was driving music stopped several times and the stereo said "USB format incompatible", then skipped to the next track and continued. I'm planning on installing an Aux input into the car soon so I can plug a better bluetooth receiver into that, so hopefully that'll solve the problem.
