WIFI 6? - Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Questions & Answers

Hi;
Are Tab 6 equipped with Wifi 6?
Thank you.

I don't think tab s6 has wifi 6 it is equipped with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac. Wifi 6 is 802.11 ax

I just got an AX11000 Router and I'm sort of disappointed my Tab S6 doesn't support WIFI6. My Note 10+ does and my Wife's S10 does. The tablet uses almost the same exact internals. They couldn't have sprung for a Wifi upgrade?

Sungnus is trying to cheap out 2 cents on premium device. it doesn't even need a comment how stupid this is.

Dual band 5ghz support

Hi
I bought a dual band 5ghz router last night and I cant seem to connect my prime to it, it doesn't appear in the list of wireless networks so my question is does the prime support dual band? my galaxy nexus had no problems doing so
Cheers
Prime can't connect to 5ghz band. Need to be on 2.4.
Is it hardware or software? Can any roms do so. This really sucks that it cannot

Of all the reading i've done on the subject the hardware is apparently definitely 2.4 only, even if the software may have an area which looks like you can enable it the hardware cannot do it.
Yea its hardware related. The wireless chip can't receive 5ghz radio signals. As far as I know that's pretty common for all phones and tablets.
there are only a couple tablets that can do 5ghz. most do not and use the standard, as standard range is alot more than 5ghz range.
Does your router not support 2.4ghz and 5ghz simultaneously? If not why not stay on 2.4ghz?
Why do you need to be pushing 5ghz though your walls?
My name is Optimus Prime and I send this message..
If i could i would be running ONLY 5ghz, faster, less range means less crowdedness on the different bands, whats not to like?
problem with 5ghz on prime is the prime already has a shoddy wifi as it is, 5ghz would jsut cripple it. And from what i read the chip supports 5ghz but there is no antenna for it or something i forget exactly.
Basically, no 5ghz on the prime but i think thats by design. Wish it had it tho, would love to see a GPS dongle repurposed for wifi. Wishfull thinking tho methinks.

[Q] Nexus 7 32GB HELP: WIFI + 3G VS Samsung Nexus 10 32GB WIFI only

Nexus 7 32GB WIFI + 3G versus Samsung Nexus 10 32GB WIFI only
Hi guys. I own a Galaxy Nexus and I am planning to expand my Nexus family.
I am planning to buy a tablet, and I am confused between "Nexus 7 32GB WIFI + 3G" and "Samsung Nexus 10 32GB WIFI only". Nexus 7 is great... but its camera made me decide to choose another one... the Nexus 10. Nexus 10 however is not mobile data capable. As I do most of the times, I always subscribe to Globe's Supersurf prepaid promo as there are less WIFI zones in my city (aside from my house... and some few restos/fastfood chains/cafes of which I rarely visit). Without mobile data, the tablet will be surely be a turn off for me. But, comparing both tablets... the Nexus 10 is the stronger device.
For you, which will you choose? I am really rooting for Nexus 10 (more battery life, greater display, greater cameras [Nexus 7 does not have a back camera], and others), but I really like to have a mobile data feature... This is giving me a headache.
I need help guys, should I drop the mobile data feature and go for the Nexus 10? Or drop the cameras, and super great improvements for a mobile data feature... Nexus 7?
i'd say go for a nexus 10 and get yourself a mifi (well that was what i did)
I hope we have that in the Philippines. *sigh*
EDIT: Mifi is available in the Philippines! lol! Thanks... Nexus 10 then.
I just use my phone as a mobile hotspot.

SM-T825 WIFI 5GHz instable connection

Hi,
I bought the tab last friday. While playing around I noticed that Wifi does an
endless reconnect-loop when using 5 GHz Wifi. 2 GHz works fine..
Could anybody please try? Turn off your router's 2 GHz and use 5 only.
Watch the Wifi nenu in your tab.
Thanks

makes problems.. So, please can someone close this thread?

My tablet is connected to 5 gigahertz exclusively and has never dropped the connection. You may want to take a look at your router's wifi settings.
I have a brand new Galaxy Tab S3 SM-T820 Wifi version, and I have two wireless routers in my home. One is a RavPower ND007, the other a DLink DIR-813. Both are dual band routers. On both, I have the 2.4 GHz network and 5 GHz networks names differently. Every other device in my home - including a number of Samsung devices - connects to all four networks with no problem.
However, my Galaxy Tab S3 does not. When connecting to the Rav, it shows "Connected, No Internet", and can't communicate at all. It won't even connect to the DIR-813 at all.
It connects flawlessly to the 2.4GHz networks on both routers.
Both of the routers, and the Tab, all have the latest available firmwares/updates.
So it's definitely the Tab S3, and definitely a 5GHz problem.
Not sure how to report this to Samsung, but I'm going to try...
defenitley YES, 5G problem...

Last Sunday I forgot to turn off Wifi 5G on my router and used my Tab S3.... Reconnect each 2 seconds... Super Quality, Thanks a lot to Samsung..
And just to clarify - 5G works with the same router and my Phone S8 perfectly, so it is NOT a rouoter issue...
I've been using 5G exclusively as our SSID is 5G specific and never had an issue with WiFi. Solid connection 100% of the time. Netgear Nighthawk X8 here.

Will try to install the latest update this weekend, without any modifications. If 5G still does not work, I will send the Tab to samsungs repair-center, as it still will be covered by warranty.
Either it is a problem with modem-driver or Hardware..
But nevertheless, this is the very first device showing up this problem with 5G.
If Samsung is not capable to solve, this will be my last product purchased from this brand...
I did send my Tab to Samsung repair center in Germany. Will receive it today, but I already know that they did not find any problem, all fine..
Well - but they did not give me a detailed test-report yet... So I dont know what and how they tested..
Will return the Tab to my local dealer for replacement..
I'd like to test with a different SM-T825...
Reading this I haven't seen that you've tried updating your router's firmware. If you haven't try that too. I'm not sure if when you say "install latest update" if that's the router or the tab.

Just by chance I found out, that 5G works if no SIM inserted. And IF SIM is inserted, it MUST be active. In flightmode and then activate WIFI does NOT work..
This is very suspicious... I hope that SOON we will find a working lineage for the galaxy tab S3...
Galaxy Tab S3 SM-T820 Wifi version and dual band 5ghz
Hmm, I just updated my modem as per better speeds from Comcast, but I also need a new router that would take advantage of the bandwidth and the 802.11ac dual band standard so that I can get to the 5ghz band.
I own a Galaxy Tab S3 SM-T820 WiFi and before I get a new router, I want to know if the WiFi adapter in the Tablet would pick up on the 5ghz band with a new router. Is there any type of updates or drivers or am I okay?
Thank you,
Jon
I'm on 5Ghz all the time. No issues.
Great news !!
I asked the question after I learned about the variety with routers and especially since I found out that my laptop's WiFi adapter only supports b,n,g and that I would need to buy a USB WiFI adapter for my laptop or somehow change the adapter chip inside my laptop to take advantage of the 802.11ac dual protocol.
Thank you, Jon
I have the t825 version, unfortunately I have problems with the 5 Ghz connection.
I hope Samsung releases an update to fix the connection problem and to improve the camera

Hi, I have the T835 and I have the same problem. It disconnects 5 ghz, problem since I bought it.
Sorry, I'm wrong with thread

Note 4 user still looking for answers.Hotspot Max users on note 8? galaxy tools work?

Limited to 8 users on hotspot ? Or is there a workaround? Use galaxy tools on my note 4 to set any number.
With all my smarthome gear I get up to 15 connections with company, Over 10 normally
Looking to upgrade phones and switch to T-Mobile but wondering if I'm better off getting a T-Mobile note 4 first that I can use as my home Wi-Fi. Vs a note 8 or 9 that will likely be overkill for just a hotspot line that only supports 8 connections Max.

I've never had that many devices hooked to my phone at once to test max users..lol. It does say 8 devices max in settings though. I went from note 4 to the note 8 and my dl speeds are Awesome with Tmobile!
Wow
Those speeds are blazing in comparison.
I'm getting 25-40 down and 3-7 up
Been reading about T-Mobile hotspot throttling though. Cable company wants 6 grand to install cable. I use around 100gb a month and even when I'm over my 4g limit of 50g I rarely see a noticeable decline in speeds. Possibly due to my rural location.
Waiting for note 10 now to see if there are any pricing deals. Seems 400-600 is going rate for a good used 9 now. Not interested in the 8 anymore really. People still want to much for it in comparison.

Question WiFi6 Problems

Has anyone heard anything yet regarding the WiFi 6 problems this phone has?
I have to turn WiFi off and on numerous times a day to keep it working, it's insane. I use a TP-Link Archer 11000 and have nothing but problems. Every other device in this house works perfect (3 laptops, doorbell, multiple firesticks, roku, desktop on wifi adapter, iPhone 14 Pro Max, Google Home, hell, even my Note 20 Ultra 5G worked perfectly).
This phone is being crippled. I have already replaced it once, wiped the device, etc etc.
Mine will switch from 6Ghz to 5Ghz (from 6E to 6) throughout the day and I have no idea why, but it never loses connection.
I had to disable AX band on my router to keep a stable connection.
TP-Link Deco XE75 here at home, zero issues. Whatever they are using at work for the recently updated WiFi 6 causes some issues sometimes (says it's connected but there isn't any data) or it'll not stay connected even though I'm literally within feet of an AP.
I have problems too. Apps have sync problems. I get errors in uploads for Dropsync all the time.
However other devices work fine on the same network. And the S23Ultra doesn't have these problems when on mobile network.
I can't figure out the reason.
I have an unlocked S23 Ultra on the T-Mobile network with an ASUS WiFi 6 Router (RT-AX3000) and have never had an issue with the connection.
It's a known issue. Deal with it.

I have had WiFi 6/6e in my place for a couple years now and have never had any issues with connectivity.
My first WIFi 6 setup used the Linksys Velop routers: https://www.linksys.com/mx10600---tri-band-ax5300-mesh-wifi-6-system-2-pack/MX10600.html
Never had any connectivity/speed issues using 2 nodes meshed.
I am currently running the Google Nest Pro's (WiFi 6/6e): https://store.google.com/product/nest_wifi_pro?hl=en-US
Also no connectivity issues at all, also using 2 nodes meshed.

Interesting. I know 5 people here in town that have S23U's without issues. Is there a common link? I'll read more of the articles after my next meeting.

Just some wifi6 routers
ok, read a bit more, about to head into meeting.
It seems I have a different issue all together. I have absolutely NO issues with internet connectivity when on WiFi. Home or otherwise. My issue is, with my new Nest Pro's, I barely ever see WiFi 6e, not that it's making a huge difference as it is anyway.
Hrm, will keep an eye on this then.

Yes this is a different issues, I have the same issue as you. My S23U loses WiFi connection all through out the day, no other device in my house has this issue. I have the Netgear Nighthawk Mesh system. I am so tired of it because I have zero Data service at my house so wifi is my only option so when it does this and I am not aware I can't get text or calls.
