How to unlock LTE bands on Note 10 (N9700 HK) version - read it carefully - Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Guides, News, & Discussion

This is a guide to help everyone who bought the N9700 (HK) version and is not living in Hong Kong, in this way you can activate all the bands you want and remove the band aggregations natively create for HK.
BEWARE I TESTED THIS ONLY ON THE N9700 (HK) (DON'T TEST IT ON ANY OTHER VERSION) and it worked for me also without root or without unlocked bootloader. (Even if I strongly prefer to be ROOTED and with unlocked bootloader when doing this kind of mods)
I'm not responsabile for any damage you will do to your smartphone using this procedure. if you do it you are taking all the risks.
NOTE: This change is not persistent and must be done after every OTA update that touch the modem
REQUIRMENTS
1) QSPT version 2.7.474 or above
2) QXDM 3.14.594 or above . (BEWARE NOT USE A LOWER VERSION)
3) Qualcomm QD Loader driver
4) Samsung driver
PROCEDURE
-1) Do a full backup of your data
0) Activate the USB Debugging (there are plenty of guides on XDA I will don't explain it here again)
1) change the USB mode using one of this 2 codes *#0808# and select RNDIS + ACM + DM and reboot
2) attach the smartphone to USB the system should find new devices without driver (use the qualcomm one or lets windows finds the drivers alone)
4) find out which COM number has been attributed to your device and note it (e.g. COM8)
3) open QPST configuration if you find already a port configured go to the point 5 (sometime you will find everything already configured by his own)
4) Otherwise click on ADD NEW PORT there will be 2 field : Port (put the port you found at the point 4) (e.g.COM8) , Port Label : write whatever you want (e.g. MyPort)
5) In the menu of QPST configuration select "Service Programming" and click OK to every confirmation windows that will appear
6) Leave QPST open and open QXDM Professional
7) In the menu of QXDM Professional click "Options" --> "Communication"
8) Select the port you configured in QPST and under Communication - Target Port enable it and click OK
if everything is going as expected you will see that QXDM enable all the options that at the beginning are grayed out
9) At this point select "NV Browser" in the View DropDown
10) check MULTISIM checkbox (it is important)
11) In the "Category filter" select "LTE"
12) Find the item 06828 (LTE BC Config) - click on it and click the read button
13) you should see the a decimal number that is the current bands enabled
14) Install on you device LTE Band Calculator app on your smartphone and insert that number in it to see what bands are enabled, add the bands you what to add and note down the new number in notepad . (e.g. 17592186044415 this enable all the bands from 1 to 44)
15) go back to QXDM and past the new number in the field where you have found the original one click WRITE (wait 10 sec) - click WRITE again and wait 15 sec)
OPTIONAL PART - AGGREGATION
1) Close QXDM
2) close "Service Programming" in QSPT (don't close QSPT) - don't save when it requests it
3) under the menu Service in QSPT open EFS Explorer and confirm with OK (without touching nothing)
4) wait until you will not see the filesystem tree appear
5) Navigate to the "folder" nv --> Item_files -->modem--> lte
6) there will be few folder under LTE find a file named "ca_band_combos" or similar
7) make a copy on your PC of the file "ca_band_combos"
8) delete "ca_band_combos" file in find there (this enable any aggregations possible)
HOW TO TEST IT:
[IF YOU ARE ROOTED]
You can use Network Signal Guru
[IF YOU ARE NOT ROOTED]
you should see 4g+ icon (in Italy for example)
or test with a speed tester before and after to see if the aggregation works as expected (in my case before this procedure my test was 15 Mbits download / 12 Mbits upload, after the procedure 80 Mbits download / 30 Mbits upload )
HOW TO REVERT IT
[IF YOU ARE ROOTED]
adb shell 'dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/modemst1'
adb shell 'dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/modemst2'
adb reboot
[IF YOU ARE NOT ROOTED]
The best way is to flash with ODIN the full stock firmware and do a full wipe
Sorry if I didn't add any attached file to download or image (no more time left ) .. (you can find it on XDA or google it)

Awesome post. But one question, I bought Note 10+ from ebay (N9750/DS) with SD chip and calling is not working with Freedom mobile but I can text and browse internet. Any chances I can make the changes to get this working with Freedom mobile? Help would be greatky appreciated as I don't want to go thru the hastle of returning it.

If I'm not wrong n9750 is HK version In that case it should work.

You have that ebay link handy? Looking for places to purchase the same model. Is the "sdcard" an option that needs to be specified?
Thanks!

Ah, makes sense....so one question is the secondary slot a sim/sdcard slot or is an extra sim tray needed to be purchased that will hold an sd?
Never had a dual sim smartphone, so some of the details are beyond me.

No. You don't need to purchase anything extra. How sim tray works for dual sim phone is that either you can use sim card 2 slot or SD card. If you use SD card, then you can't use second sim. But I don't think SD card is needed as it's memory is already 256 GB. And trust me, dual sim phones are just awesome.

No worries. Enjoy your new phone. Did you order the same that I mentioned from Veitnam? And are you from Canada? If yes, then you have to pay $74 custom charges. Still it's way cheaper then what you pay in Canada. ?

can anyone share what bands are enabled after this mod? I am using N9700 in US, and works great so far with all Carriers including Verizon, and VoLTE out of box. from what I gather, N9700 lacks several bands for T-mobile, i.e. 66 and 71. it would be a great that this mod enables them

this mod should enable all the bands that the chipset is able to support. However you have to calculate the right value to put in the NV RAM #6828 LTE Configuration since the number I wrote (17592186044415) doesn't include the band 66 and 71
Please look on google or XDA how to calculate the #6828 value for the bands you want to activate

I'm having trouble finding the info for those 2 specific bands as well.
Would i be able to read the value from my T-mobile branded Note 8 and use that value to plug into the Note 10?
Sent from my God Mode 8

Hi,
In theory Yes you can. But I don't know if you can read this value from your note 8 SD T-Mobile. You can try since reading a value is not invasive and if it doesn't work in the note 10 you can write again the original value. Otherwise you can ask to the LTE Bands Calculator developers to add these bands and wait...
my 2 cents

I need qxdm activation code, please help.

I cannot help you on this .... sorry. Google is your friend!

Great Job. Thanks. I've managed to enable missing Bands for Vodafone UK in my N9750.

[Q] How to unlock the Chinese Huawei Ascend Glory+ [T8950]

Hi,
I first tried the method below:
Is someone trying to develop a Custom ROM for the Huawei Ascend G600 (U8950D)?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1943003
But the phones are not just different band versions, as mentioned in post 58 of the thread above. The T8950 is not kernal compatible with the U8950D:
http://www.jetdroid.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=106&t=8383
Indeed, the T8950 is equipped with MTK6517 dual-core processor, the MT6517 and MT6577 are the same, A9 architecture 40nm processor, clock ed speed is 1.0Ghz.
http://defendgun.com/2013/01/22/mobile-customized-huawei-glory-t8950-listed-price-at-261/
I don't pretend to have any knowledge about rooting phones, I just was able to find the correct information on the web. I spend two weeks figuring this out. So I hope I can save somebody else his time with this information.
this is how I did it.
UNLOCKING THE BOOTLOADER
--------------------------------------------------
the bootloader of the T8950 is not locked, so it does not need to be unlocked. Allight, step one done!
INSTALLING THE CMW CUSTOM RECOVERY TOOL
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The T8950 does indeed not have a fastboot mode. the CWM custom recovery can be installed by flashing the ROM using the Flash tool of Mediatek
tutorial: http://bm-smartphone-reviews.blogspot.com/2012/05/mt6575-flashing-tutorial.htmlthe correct files to use in the tutorial can be found here:
- SP_Flash_Tool_exe_v3.1224.01 --> http://www.mediafire.com/?c8lr368ceaqk7tv
- MediaTek DA USB VCOM drivers --> http://www.mediafire.com/?h0ytkyagj0kf89u
if all went well, you should have a different recovery screen now.
ROOTING
-----------
Tutorial: http://bm-smartphone-reviews.blogspot.com/2012/02/complete-guide-to-clockworkmod-recovery.html
The fileto be used is:
- RootT8950.zip --> http://www.mediafire.com/?je47wz2ozjr7oth
After the update is finished, reboot . Now, you should see Superuser in your Huawei T8950 app list. You can double check if you have root, using the "got root?" app.-->https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.island51.gotroot
INSTALLING THE GOOGLE SERVICES
----------------------------------------------------------
Since the the CWM custom recovery tool is installed now and the phone is rooted, it's very simple to add the google services to the phone. I used the GAPPS of Cyanogen. You can find them on many places, e.g.
http://www.needrom.com/mobile/gapps-cyanogen/
choose the right version, most likely your T8950 will have android ICS 4.0.4
istallation is the same as installing the rooting ROM

Hey TeTTiweTTi!
I can not say how glad I am that you wrote this tutorial. It seems that this is actually the only tutorial on how to truly unlock the T8950 (at least for non russian-speakers )
Still, I'd have some questions:
How do you install the VCOM driver? I downloaded it, but I can only find .inf files.. How do you install them?
Did you flash the whole ROM or just a part of it, as shown in the tutorial? And what exactly happens when you flash the ROM? Are you able to boot afterwards? It seems to just install CWM - right?
How do you apply the update RootT8950.zip?
Help would be appreciated a lot, since you seem to be the only one who knows how to properly do it
Oh and btw: did everything work for you after flashing the ROM? Or did you encounter any errors?
Cheers,
amannn
Hi, it was indeed not so easy to collect these bits and pieces together
here an answer to your questions
1.
The .inf files are the drivers. There are two ways to install the drivers. One way is to right click on the .inf file and choose "Install". The other way is to start the process with SP Flash Tool and as soon as you plug in the phone a new device will be detected and you have the choice to install the drivers.
Also, it is very important to make sure that you click "Download" first before you connect the device. Actually there is a trick, below the sp flash tool, you will see something that says "USB". Click "Download" and wait for the "USB" to become "Searching". Once it is "searching" then connect the USB. SP-Flashtool should be able to capture it before it disconnects itself again.
2.
yes, you only flash a part of the ROM, so you don't need to have all the files in the SP Flash Tool. Only the ones mentioned in the tutorial. Your phone will boot normal, nothing will be changed yet. But now you will have the CWM custom recovery when you start up in recovery mode.
3.
the linked tutorial is quite clear. Let me know if you cannot reach the page or you encounter a problem.

Hey TeTTiweTTi!
Thank you very much again for your detailed explanation!
So i think I've installed CWM recovery successful. Therefore, I'm now working on the rooting part.
The RootT8950.zip file needs to be applied, using the "choose zip from sdcard" option from CWM recovery right? When I choose that option, I encounter the error "E:Can't mount /sdcard/". Also when I'm trying to create a backup, it says "Can't mount backup path.". So it seems that there is a problem with accessing the sdcard. I then tried the "mount /sdcard" option, but it also says "Error mounting /sdcard".
Did you have any problem like that? When my phone is booted up, there is no problem with accessing the sd card... Or is there a option how I can check if the sd card is inserted correctly? I guess it's internal and therefore impossible to even remove it..
Your help would be highly appreciated!
Many thanks in advance and best wishes,
amannn
EDIT: I was now able to upload the update with an external micro sd. Therefore everything works so far - thanks again

Hi sieger007,
It can be a little bit tricky to install the drivers, since it are .inf files only. But these are the driver files

This second way worked just fine for me.
You can find the drivers and tools also here
http://mt65xx-tools.4shared.com/
he password to login is bm-smartphone-reviews.blogspot.com.
But always make sure that you trust the sources of the ROM you download and know that it is meant for your phone. After flashing a wrong preloader, your phone will be completely dead (can't be powered on, it will not charge and won't be detected anymore by the computer) and there is no way to recover it.
In order to root you first need to install a custom recovery. In this case it is CWM.
hope this helps
still stuck in driver hell
thanks for your help . I had a previous Chinese MTK (MT6575 ARM A9 cortex ) phone , whose ADB drivers successfully installed when I installed the SDK .
Now this one is MTK6517 ARM A5 Cortex. and none of the methods ( #1 or #2 ) help, in those drivers being recognized.
By method #1 : Right click install - It maybe just copying the driver file to system folder and then on windows would auto detect it when the device is inserted -assuming there is a match .
Method # 2 : Uses the new h/w found dialogue . Not sure if invoking sp_tool is related anyways in invoking that dialogue . It shows up anyways - soon as you plug in the phone .
I could not get the driver files in with the blogspot password to be recognized . Kept giving me "specified location. does not contain info about your h/w msg"
I have the EXACT same problem with ALL drivers hunted on the net , that say MTK driver. Some files say MTK65xx some say MTK_USB_Driver etc.
the h/w ID's and instance IDs associated with the devices are attached .
USB\VID_1782&Pid_5d04&Rev_0229&MI_01
Now the driver.inf file did have one ray of hope with this mention ..wonder if that'd make it compatible with a modified inf file.
But I am lost about HOW to add the h/w ID info ( format and what specific data to add ) to the inf file -most data is of the form VID_eXXX something in that file ( see below quote )
MT6516 USB VCOM drivers\readme.txt
Code:
3. Customers can customize usb2ser_XXX.inf file.
There is a string in the file:
MTK6218 = "USB Modem Driver"
You can modify it for your product name, for example:
MTK6218 = "MY_PRODUCT Modem Driver"
The other perplexing thing is that there are 3 Devices that show up under XP device manager. I managed to get one of em installed as device "android phone" with driver "android ADB interface" from Google and can possibly manage to get ALL of em installed the same way since those device ID's are close ( the last '1' becomes 2 and 3 respectively ) in this
Code:
USB\VID_1782&Pid_5d04&Rev_0229&MI_01
After pushing all these device ID's as "android ADB interface" - and attempting to root- the android rooting s/w's will NOT work at the identification step , erring out with "ADP device not found "- conclusively indicating that those drivers probably did not work well and I ought to look around for better ones - something I am trying to address by this thread.
Lastly - sp_tool when you start it - it will ask for scatter file. The scatter file out there is for MTK6577 (vs my model 6517 ) . If I choose that file - it gives me a warning - yes it out - and click download - it will then just freeze doing nothing
after some more G-mining ( Google) - i found out that I have to stick my VID in that hardware ID's and create an adb_usb.ini file to get the device recognized. Will update on happened next

ADB driver issue
> adb_usb.ini needed oXXXX as device ID . Where XXXX is the ID that shows up on Device manager. This is detailed here
http://blog.fh-kaernten.at/wehr/?p=1182
after that there will be 2 yellow marks for the rest of the unknowns in device manager. for this you have to modify the .inf file to include the entire h/w ID strings. I guess that makes just about any driver get along with anyone unknown - so here I am not sure if showing them as the such h/w by changing the driver files - gives them the actual intended functionality or all it does it just makes the device manager look clean without yellow marks. Maybe someone could help expand the talk here

ROOTING
I found this Chinese rooting program Vroot . I still have'nt figured out what exactly it means but it looks like it DID root that sucker after all. I tested with one app - root checker - got an dialogue in Chinese , asking me whether to give or not and I think I said Y but that app still does not say I have root. Its probably the apps thats at fault because I can get Linked2SD do ALL the stuff it would be doing running as root - .e.g force move programs to SD to free up space etc.
If someone out there can make English out of that and tell me if its mine to keep or leased out ( trial ) - that'd be damn nice !!!

after that there will be 2 yellow marks for the rest of the unknowns in device manager. for this you have to modify the .inf file to include the entire h/w ID strings. I guess that makes just about any driver get along with anyone unknown - so here I am not sure if showing them as the such h/w by changing the driver files - gives them the actual intended functionality or all it does it just makes the device manager look clean without yellow marks. Maybe someone could help expand the talk here

3G not accessible
Hi again,
so I've been struggling with another issue.
Somehow my T8950 isn't capable of connecting to the 3G network of my carrier. When I search for networks, only the 2G networks are being found.
Does anybody have a clue why that is and how to solve that problem? My carrier is from Austria and is called "tele.ring" which is operated by T-Mobile.
I'd really appreciate your help, since 2G is reaaally slow for data connections
EDIT: I just tried allowing my phone only to connect to 3G networks by using the Network app from Philipp Mangelow (which shows the same menu as if you dial *#*#4636#*#* as i just found out). This results into no 3G networks being found at all.. I thought maybe the problem occurs because I'm always connected in roaming mode. As I bought the phone in China, it seems to believe that i need to be in roaming mode to connect to my local carrier. However, I have a local SIM-card, so this is somewhat weird..
EDIT 2: So after some googling I've found out that China has the TD-SCDMA radio interface for 3G (at least China Mobile, and that's from where I've bought the phone), but in europe it's W-CDMA.. Remains the question how to change that (if possible at all)..
EDIT 3: So I've wrote an email to Huawei about the issue, and that's the reply:
Sorry that T8950 doesn’t support the W-CDMA mode.
Below please kindly check the frequence band of T8950 for your reference.
• GSM/EDGE:900/1800/1900MHz
• TD-SCDMA:A frequency(2010-2025MHz)/F frequency(1880-1920MHz)
So that means that there is nothing i can do about it?
Thanks and all the best,
amannn

No, unfortunatly not. this is not a software setting, but a different hardware chip. my t8950 also does not support 3G in Belgium

Everything I write here is originally from lenovoforum.net (http://www.lenovohome.net/thread-161530-1-1.html) so every credit goes to them and also Google Translate, who helped me to understand that Chinese stuff
1) So, first you have to download their package. Because it's a very slow connection, I'll offer it via my Dropbox. Please, can someone upload it on another hoster? This would be great, thanks. Anyway, the download link is: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ilxyuc9gimzpa0q/联想K900纯净版含google谷歌服务框架版已root线刷包 (1).rar PW for unpacking: www.lenovohome.net
2) You have to install the things which you can find in one of the folders in this order: First IntelAndroidDrvSetup1.2.0 (you may try to install it with compatibility mode Windwos XP, worked for me), then iSocUSB-Driver-setup-1.0. 2.exe (during this process it will tell you, that you have to plug in your phone and turn it off with holding the power button for longer than 10 seconds and then turn it on again). If you suceed you will see that it installs a new driver "Colvertrail". At last, you may install ManufacturingFlashTool_Setup_6.0.2.exe.
3) Now let's prepare the ManufacturingFlashTool for flashing our K900.
I don't know how to put screenshots in here. So I just tell you: Go to settings and put in this values: SOC devices: VID: 8086, PID: 09EE / Android Devices: VID: 8087, PID: 09ef
Check "Override". You'll find a screenshot of the settings in one of the Chinese Word files in the download folder
4) Now you can open a file in ManufacturingFlashTool and you'll open the xml-File, which is in the Firmware-Folder (calles "flash-DVT3-CPU-sign")
5) Now the program is ready to flash and says: "waiting for device". So this is what you have to do: Power off your K900 with holding the power button for 11 seconds. It may be black now but it is running! Plug the phone in and now it should detect it and automatically begin to flash. Wait until it's100%. Sometimes it reboots and it says "waiting for device" but it will finish.
6) When you have completed 100%, you may detach the phone and power it on. It may take a few minutes for the first time but now you'll have Google Apps
7) How to get ROOT: Go to superuser and hit the settings button in the right upper corner. Set "security" "Automatic response" to "allow". No you cann go back in the superuser app and hit "update", it should do a root now. For a better x86-compatible Root Explorer, you can install the apk in the attachement
Please excuse my English. Maybe somebody can write a better Guide with pictures? But I know you wanted it fast By the way: If you can't execute the exe-Files, try to pack them into a new folder because Windwos seems to have problems with the folders with Chinese signs.

I'm here for help you, and yes I bought K900
Here is the international .inb file to flash.
Part One: How flash international version:
1. create SDFUSE folder in the / of sdcard.
2. insert inb file there
3. go to fastboot mode (Vol+ + Power) and choose sdfuseupdate
4. done.
you'll get official international 47 rom (ROW region). It has google apps, it has play store.
INB file is here:
https://mega.co.nz/#F!xNdywAJA!AFbE_HikuoFODLpoc1j7Yg
Part Two:
I made HEX research and separated files from INB files. You'll not find those files in the internet, I didn't find it. So, I decided to research .inb
For debug, you can find them here:
https://mega.co.nz/#F!1YE1xDxC!IflBj13Im1549nu0feBvnw
Part Three:
I made root in the international 47 ROM.
how to?
1. download this system.img.gz:
2. go to fastboot mode (make sure you flashed 47 INB file already).
3. install manufacturing tool, all tools can be found here. https://mega.co.nz/#F!0UlDnLLR!IuQdqFqT-oIXtvRlQNtLBw Find fastboot in the program files folder, you'll need this fastboot.exe tool for intel phone.
4. use cmd,
fastboot erase system
fastboot flash system system.img.gz
by using those commands you re-flash system.img.gz that I made, it includes root (su library) and superuser. Superuser doesn't respond when need to allow or reject root, so you need to go and manually allow root rights in superuser for any application.
system img rooted: https://mega.co.nz/#F!MZ0SXRIT!R1ZAawbEjKcRm3ZXFJ0siA
Root was made by me, you'll not find this info in other sites. I write this info on xda first time.
Enjoy!
do not brick your phones, I'm not responsible if something you do wrong, but I tested and it works fine at my K900.

Yes.
But I found one more interesting thing. First time I flashed .inb file after chinese rom, but now I found full pack of fastboot files and flashed it (same 47 rom).
https://mega.co.nz/#F!IJF2hLYI!GpcLinegjjcRM6puQa0GXg
Wonder, but I have less heat releasing from the phone on the load of CPU.
I don't know why.
I recommend to flash full fastboot pack first, then boot and then step 4 - root.
p.s. files are uploaded

These are different but efficient.... like u see Dual core intel soc in this k900 matches performance of Octa core Samsung galaxy S4 ... there is difference of 6 cores and still it matches that performance.... desktops are still different class though... mobile devices cant score that kinda performance because of size of chip... Laptops have a powerful and bigger chip

wait so it is only a 2g if i use tmobile? It goes up to 3g but why isn't it so it can be used on 4g network? This phone isn't worth nothing if data isn't quick.
It was rumooured to come on 10th mat for under 25 k..
Still not arrived and priced around 536$ 30k...
Now i dont think i would buy that ...
Instead i would prefer a note 2...

I just ordered one from China, so I'll find out if it works with T-Mobile. Intel's modem chip definitely supports UMTS 850/900/1900/2100. But if for some bizarre reason it's blocked by Lenovo, it should work at least on AT&T's 2100.
But it appears that it probably should work with T-Mobile as well. See this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2286627

I bought one from China. Its an awesome device so far. Will be posting an unboxing on youtube later today. The part that sucks right now is no Google Play. I've just been sideloading my apps, but no google apps. I am trying to find information on how to root it. So far I haven't found anything. Please chime in if you have any info on that.

xt1528

I got one of these xt1528 phones but im on ATT can this be done? I heard it can somewhere in settings and Network app and change too LTE/GSM PRL instead of LTE/CDMA. Also if im able to change my apn to ATT would i also be able to rom and root or does that involve unlocked bootloader?
1. No, you cannot perm root
2. No, there's no BL unlock method

There is temp root via Kingroot for the Verizon model, but /system remains read-only and you can't flash a custom recovery.
You don't need to root to enable GSM.

The Verizon will indeed work on AT&T, but it's lacking AT&T's main LTE Band 17. Has 2G EDGE on 850MHz & 1900MHz, 3G HSPA+ on 850MHz & 1900MHz, and LTE on bands 2 and 4. You'll need to follow this guide to enable GSM compatibility: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-e-2015/general/how-to-verizon-moto-e-2015-gsm-network-t3098953

Did you follow the linked guide to enable GSM?
You'll get a "Not A Verizon SIM" message every time you reboot. It's part of the Verizon ROM.
To disable it, disable com.motorola.setupwizard.
If you also disable vzwAPNpermissions.apk and vzwAPNservice.apk, you'll only have to do the linked instructions once, instead of each time you swap SIMs.

Going by what was said in this post, the debloater package that is floating around XDA Dev: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64058197&postcount=739
I'm assuming they're referring to http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/debloater-remove-carrier-bloat-t2998294
Can probably do it manually via ADB but I don't know what the package names for vzwAPNpermissions.apk and vzwAPNservice.apk are.
The command to use is probably along the lines of:
adb shell pm disable com.package.name.com

Do you mean Debloater won't disable these apps ? Or that it still won't help the SIM swap without going back to adb ?

I just tested this, and this SIM swap worked without adb !!! Awesome !!! It's not that cumbersome either, just follow these simple steps.
Now, is it really necessary to turn on the radio in Network app first ? Also, could I just turn off Airplane mode, and then use Network app to change the network type ? Or will it run something that would screw up things such that I have to use adb ?
Not able to find the zip file in dropbox

[GUIDE] Switch software region to allow bootloader unlocking

In my process of unlocking the bootloader for my Realme X3 SuperZoom, I hit an error in the In-Depth Test app that told me I had a "carrier-customized" device and thus couldn't continue. I figured out how to get around this without needing root. All you need is a Windows computer, ADB, and a super shady program (I've tested it and there don't seem to be any viruses in it). Let's get started.
Bootloader unlock guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/x3-superzoom/how-to/guide-unlock-bootloader-realme-x3-t4136325/.
WARNING: this won't wipe your personal data, but it does appear to clear WiFi passwords.
If you haven't already, enable Developer Options and USB Debugging.
Next, download the Oppo_Free_Unlock_v1.0.zip file from the attachments and extract it somewhere.
Before you run anything, though, there's a little preparation that needs to be done.
Open Device Manager and expand the Network Adapters category.
Find your Ethernet adapter and double click it to open its properties.
Go to the Advanced tab and find the Network Address option in the Property pane.
Under the Value pane, select the radio button next to the text box and paste in the following: 704D7B61ABCD.
If you don't have an Ethernet adapter, try to find another network adapter here that has the Network Address property. It may help to install VirtualBox, since it will add fake Ethernet adapters.
Close the properties window and close Device Manager.
Go to where you extracted the unlock tools. Open Sec5.exe.
Make sure your device is in MTP mode, and then press the Unlock button.
After about a second, a string of numbers and letters should show up in the left pane. A few seconds later, "OK" should start flashing in the right pane. Press "Stop unlocking" and close the window.
Open the phone app on your device and dial *#3954391#. Then dial *#391#. A screen should come up with a whole bunch of regions listed. Choose the first one: "Multilingual Version Ex".
Your phone should now reboot. Once it's rebooted, your region will have changed and you should be able to use the In-Depth Test app to unlock your bootloader.
In theory, changing your region like this should work on any OPPO/Realme device running at least Android Pie (9). It may even work on earlier versions.
NOTE: This will not work for Chinese variants. These codes are filtered and will only work for international variants. However, the Chinese variants should be immediately unlockable.
-----
UPDATE:
It seems like OPPO caught onto this program. That MAC address is no longer accepted. However, there is a workaround (thanks to @Sonic Steven).
If you set the custom MAC on any adapters, remove it.
If you have the Secrecy program running, close it.
Disable any Ethernet/wired/virtual adapters, leaving only WiFi enabled. If you don't have a WiFi adapter, you may be able to leave Ethernet enabled, but it isn't guaranteed to work.
In Device Manager, click the root of the device tree (it should be your computer's name).
Open the "Action" menu and click "Add legacy hardware".
Click "Next" and select "Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced)".
Click "Next" again and select "Network adapters" in the list.
Click "Next" again. Once it loads, select "Microsoft" in the "Manufacturer" list.
In the "Model" list, select "Microsoft KM-TEST Loopback Adapter" (the name may be slightly different on other systems; select the one that has "Loopback Adapter" in the name).
Click "Next" twice to begin the installation.
Once the installation is complete, you should be able to reopen the Secrecy program and decrypt.
NOTE: The Secrecy program requires a working internet connection. It connects to OPPO's servers and performs some sort of authentication.

same Find X2 Pro sec5 dont show ok on the right side
hello
with oppo a9 2020;
does not work, I start the procedure with Sec5.exe it recognizes the device but does not give the ok; the same thing happens when you start secrecy.exe!
How can I solve?
@Zacharee1
I think this thread should be moved to https://forum.xda-developers.com/f/android-general.1424/, since it is not only for Realme X3 SuperZoom.
This solution is also applicable to RealmeC11(RMX2185).

Yes, see above post. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ow-bootloader-unlocking.4136341/post-84091819
Got it working. Have NO MAC address listed in the Loopback and have at least 1 other network device active with internet access!
i thought you were supposed to have no internet adapter.
Also working on Realme 7 Pro, quick question, I'm already rooted with custom recovery, am I allowed to change the region without removing root and custom recovery?

I will try to keep this post as small as possible. This will enable Volte for Phone ranging from Lg g8x, g8 and V60 without root or modifying the system files. Many have posted ways to get it, Iam only trying to help out the small bits missing...
forum.xda-developers.com
To make it as short as possible:
1) Create an empty directory named "enable_ue" in the root of the phone's main storage, using you prefered file explorer (like for exemple Cx Explorer or ).
2) From the LG Phone dialpad and with your SIM card inserted, type #*462633*#100# (for european LG Wing - LM-F100EMW) to get into the Hidden Menu. From there enter Field Test, then Universal Enabler -> Create New Config. Click on the four last check boxes VoLTE, ViLTE, VoWIFI and ViWIFI to enable these options. You won't be able to enter this setting if you haven't created the empty directory under point 1).
Go back to Field Test and enter Modem Setting to enable 5G if you haven't already -> RAT Selection -> SIM 1 Mode - > select GSM/WCDMA/LTE/5G or whatever you need + 5G. Go back and do the same with SIM 2 after, if you use it. Network mode in the network settings will then not show "5G prefered", but a number, like "26" in my case.
3) Go back to Field Test menu and enter IMS Stting. If you have Slot - 0 : OPEN / EU and Slot - 1 : OPEN / EU (or something else on each side of the / ), then you did everything right to this point. Exit the Hidden Menu and get your SIM out of the phone.
4) Enter th Hidden Menu again without the SIM inserted. Go back to IMS Setting and click on Slot - 0.
Under Subscriber enable IMS,ISIM & USIM.
Under Xcap\Ut. -> General, enable UT & USSD Over IMS
Under ETC, enable Check IMS Registration, Use rule-ID from responsem& Query on bootup
Under GPRI VoLTE/VoWIFi, enable VoLTE, ViLTE, VoWIFI & VIWIFI
Under Test, Preference Operator can be set as OPEN (what I did), or your carrier short name, or your County. Apparently does not make difference for some operator but some do require it to same name as theirs.
Preference Country this is important as this decides if VoLTE gets enabled, Find your country short code example USA is US , India is IN. Europe is EU. Find and try different short codes, I put EU.
Enable Support Volte AT command, VoNR, UAC Enabled & VoLTE Setting Enabled
You can now exit the Hidden Menu & insert your SIM back in. If everything went well, you should see the VoLTE icon showing up on the left of the network in the task bar, on the (my) Wing it's a small lifted phone headset with wave coming out of it. If you don't have it, check under the phone network settings - Mobile networks, if you got the VoLTE option and if it's activated. You might have to repeat some of the steps above with the SIM card inserted (as I had to) to make it work. Don't forget to check the settings for both SIMs if you use two. Not sure if all setting are kept if you reboot or reset the phone. You might have to repeat the preocess or part of it on each reboot, as for enabeling the 5G option.
Was tested on Android 12, as my phone didn't get Android 13 yet. But it's also working on my Velvet 5G that is on A13.
Many thanks to Baljeet Khairwal and johndaniel for their guides + all other persons who helped in the two threads.
