Looks nice will have to try it

this its COOL! if you possible add password in recovery, and dont possible remove if you want reset the phone.
i test my day off.
good

Looks really good, excited to give it a go!

That's some very good stuff ??

wow! really cool. good job man!

Congratulations @Arteush on the release of your project! Don't let the haters get you down!
Looking forward to give it a go.

I spent about 15 minutes playing around with it, everything seems to work except theming the splash screen (won't load any PNGs I've tried, and putting your own colour hex code always results in black). Really nice work

Sorry for my ignorance... but is this a custom recovery (to replace TWRP) or a theme_ing+ all-in-one?

A custom recovery

The new release include a patch to prevent samsung account and lockscreen loop issues, strongly recommanded to check the box when flashing a kernel.

Wow, this is incredible. Thanks for sharing.

Unlike TWRP/ ClockWorkMod - this will modify statusbar/ themes etc?
TWRP will be overwritten by this or both options available on installation of OrangeFox?
Can you give examples of what statusbar changes it can make? - Dynamic colour SB? SB icon colour changes? SB Clock styles? SB battery options? (it doesn't show on the example pics from the OrangeFox link)
Thanks

The best I can tell you is to try..
Look at this screenshot for the status bar options.

Thank you for this recovery project... I was following the official telegram thread and did not know this thread already existed here...
Great work. Love the options...
Couple of questions
1. I got pin not correct in lock screen. The fix in the recovery ( add-ons) did not help. I had to delete some files in data/system to clear the password.
Then I got into the issue of samsung password not working... Had to spend sometime cleaning up the storage of a bunch of smasung apps to sign in again.
Is there a better solution to this?
2. Is there a way to show the zip files as default instead of all files in the file section. Most common reason why I go into recovery is to flash a file. Having the above option will be very useful...
Once again appreciate your work

Misc
Important note:
Starting from 17.09.2015 build the installer of chrono kernel is decoupled from a ROM installer, so e.g. no support for f2fs or dual boot with a default ROM kernel. In order to have all features of the universal kernel package you need proceed standalone chrono kernel installation.
Conversion EXT4 -> F2FS:
TWRP:
1) back up the system
2) find backup folder and rename system.ext4.win to system.f2fs.win, data.ext4.win -> data.f2fs.win etc.
3) restore backup of selected partitions
4) flash zip from attachment (chrono kernel is supposed to be installed)
CWM/Philz:
1) back up the system
2) format selected partitions to F2FS
3) restore backup of selected partitions
4) flash zip from attachment
Fix to GAPPS(GMS) FC:

Yep Is there anything wrong? Just found some spare time to return to android development.
UPD. while I'm on the treatment, there is almost nothing anything to do for me... Just wanted to bring this ROM up before I go to another city because of treatment.
For f2fs i have to convert first the rom with the script or i can install it as it is?

I caught myself that I haven't tested f2fs with this ROM(of course I've tested f2fs update itself). There installation with f2fs will be a little tricky, because /ramdisk/fstab needs to be changed(it can be updated after reflashing ROM, but this is not the best solution IMO). I will test it and report later.
UPD. Btw, kernel version line messed up a bit, just don't pay attention on this
UPD2. added info about f2fs to 3rd post.
With flufli's script f2fs installation was fine but i had system fc the first time, launcher's fc, camera as you have said and the rom was laggy for me even without installing any other app.
I went back to liquid so that's the only feedback i can provide

Well, updater_script of this ROM is quite different from CM11, and it was never guarantied(AFAIK) that it will work with another ROMs. For me mentioned in 3rd post way is working, and there are no FCing apps(besides of aforementioned camera).
and the rom was laggy for me even without installing any other app.

Note that for first 10 minutes media scanner is running in background, so there's nothing unusual that phone may lag in this time.
Well, after reading janice vanir topic I've found that GAPPS(GPS) FC bug will also appear there. This is related to -O3 optimization applied to binaries which are compiled in thumb mode. I haven't messed with optimizations yet(and Linaro GCC 4.8 is used here), but unfortunately for us, -O3 was already applied. Known fix for lollilop won't work on kitkat - it simply doesn't apply well, actually it can be applied, will try it later.
Then compile with -O2 and apply some non problematic -O3 flags manually

This isn't such simply. AFAIK, anything except -Os being applied to thumb code will fail. It's interesting to force ARM mode to check if it as well fixes issue, but first I'll try out removing forced alighment code. I have too slow internet to upload(or rather - download) new build in near time, when applying just one fix probably can fit in few blobs.
Test fix to GAPPS FC bug. To apply reboot to recovery and copy files to /system/lib(make sure you have backup of original files!). Please test it and report if it's working.

Well done! This works for your CM11 05.05.2015 (Running Google Play services 7.5.74 (1997312-034))
The idea to use other/older libjavacore.so was known but not to change libjavacrypto.so also. Which is obviouly if I think about it once more
As you know me I made an installer zip of this. It is not my work actually - I only changed files, added codina and CM11 checking and added deinstall routine for my old init.d fix.
You can use it also (of course) if the init.d fix was not used...
This will do the following:
Deletes init.d 50gmscache (if installed)
Deletes cache folder of gms (will be build new automaticly)
Makes backup (*.so.bak) of original libs
Copy working libs over the original ones.
Okay, good to know that fix is working. Now I can publish patch which is backport of well known fix for lollipop https://github.com/ChronoMonochrome...mmit/a2d116008d15c3db373ad372ab37548058926bfc .
Good work, Chrono
I saw that in rom preinstalled r3 kernel
Is there an update already or it special version for Vanir?

There is an update(read changelog in 2nd post), but I haven't pushed it because I need to deal with some changes in kernel installer(and in build script, in particular) and make sure that they works properly.
Thank you
:good::good::good:
upd: kernel used with this rom is the best.
I made fatal mistakes by flashing nonrelated chrono's ones.
I was SO WRONG flashing latest one instead of testing included one.
Definitely, kernel used there is really fit for this rom.
Awesome(some tweaks are still needed, but, damn, it is really, really awesome)!
Kernel we have there still can use latest chronokernelsettings(MANY customization are needed to get totally great results, but CKS + perfctrl used together are capable to push a2 to the max, imho).
This is awesome rom.
Small advice - add these to init.d with 755 permission, reboot:
http://speedy.sh/FVaw2/init.d.7z
Then you can optimize your system even more with chronokernelsettings + perfctrl(do NOT overwrite init's settings there).
Then - apkopt - list of apk's to being optimized - soon(check fuc.kin dialer gain)...
Then - media.scanner, any wrong id tag may result in batt drain(imagine >500 mp3 files with wrong id tags, then imagine 1500 files with wrong tags on extcard and media.scanner working)...
Yup, it can DRAIN your battery without reason...
F'ed up tags of your music/vid files may break your nice, flatline batt usage, too.
Another story - ex-ter-nal music player/vid player...
And so on, so on...rom itself, or kernel will NOT help you, if you are not aware how andorind is working.
Anyway, good luck....feel free to ask.
But maybe tomorrow, now i am drunk, allright.
Chrono, thank you.
Not enough space on /system
It seems apps that require to write some data on /system (like AdAway or Mount2SD) are not working correctly after f2fs conversion. Error message says "there is not enough space on /system". I wonder if anyone experienced the same or is it just me messing up at a step?

FAQ (or Q&A)
1.) ROM Base
The ROM is based on AOSP, but OnePlus One device tree (device specific files needed to build the ROM) is based on Omni, I can assure you everything else is either AOSP or modified from AOSP
2.) ROM Issue
Since the device tree is based on Omni, the issue that Omni has persist within this ROM.
3.) Custom Kernel
Anything that is compatible with Omni (latest release) is compatible with this ROM too, I recommend using Donkey One kernel for customizations and @stranostrano's kernel for simplicity. Both works fine and well with the ROM.
4.) Feature Request
I'll add a feature if it's not overly intrusive and it's not there because of vanity sake. I will also minimize adding features since it'll break the philosophy of the ROM itself
5.) Bug Reporting
I will gladly accept any bug reports as long as it contains enough details so that I can reproduce it myself. Including logs (kmesg, dmesg, logcat) and screenshot if it's a graphical issue would help me a lot.
Thanks downloading....
I just did a clean flash. Looks like another clean flash is calling.

Even I tried. Can't seen to flash. When I download from PC, I cannot copy the zip to my phone. When I download from mobile, I cannot flash. It says corrupt file.
Possible to upload to a site other than Mediafire?
I'll try uploading it to AFH, thanks all for the reports !
Edit : I can confirm the zip on the cloud is corrupted, it is being reuploaded at the moment, don't hold your breath since it'll take some time. I also rebuilt the ROM to fix up some leftover issues.

No worries dude. Downloading now.
Quick question, if I flash Custom Kernel that supports DT2W, Donkey One in this case because it supports Omni, will I be able use DT2W?

Donkey One's DT2W depends on Omni's DT2W settings (I guess). But fear not, I have merged the offscreen gesture commit (I know, I should have bundled it with the reuploaded version), I'll be releasing it when I merge other huge and important things.

• Octavi 2.8 & OSS Build
Spoiler: What is OSS build?
- Stock-vendor refers to the firmware for the phone that is developed by the manufacturer of the phone.
Currently it is believed to be more stable than the OSS-vendor. The problem with the stock-vendor is that in time the support will stop (no more upgrades to newer Android versions), because the manufacturer prefers you to buy a new phone instead of using your phone for years.
The OSS-vendor refers to a firmware developed by the open source community.
It is expected that the OSS-vendor will be supported for much longer than the stock-vendor.

The rom is based on oss vendor. so when you flash latest one it's preincluded.
Hey Abdullah, The download link is not working, so unable to download the rom, and also do you know if there will be future updates or if the rom will go official or not, this is in my opinion the best custom rom among all the ones i have used remaining to test dot OS, would love to see it go official. Thanks.

Team Win Recovery Project [aka TWRP] is an open-source software custom recovery image for Android-based devices. It provides a touchscreen-enabled interface that allows users to install third-party firmware and back up the current system, functions often unsupported by stock recovery images. It is, therefore, often installed when rooting Android devices, although it isn't dependent on a device being rooted to be installed.
***
Hi there,
This is the unofficial build based on the official TWRP sources for the POCO X3 [NFC] !
WHAT'S WORKING ? [Everything +++]
- Backup/Restore
- Encryption support : all A11 custom roms
- adb sideload
- fastbootd : for flashing GSI builds and other stuff ! (advanced users only ++++)
- flashing special images
- switch between custom roms without any issue
- miscellaneous : OTG, brightness & vibration control
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE [First Time]
Required firmware version : [R][11] [Mandatory +++]
For Android [Q][10], use the lower version [3.4.0-0]
- Unlock your bootloader
- Enable ADB from MIUI Settings > Developer options
- Plug your USB cable to your Windows PC and type :
adb reboot bootloader
then :
fastboot flash recovery <twrp-xxxx>.img
fastboot reboot recovery
. For MIUI users Only :
After a long investigation, i find out that the command " fastboot boot <twrp-xxxx>.img " is no longer working in Android [11] to avoid overwriting TWRP by the Stock MIUI Recovery. Because the code to do this wicked job after every reboot is inside the stock "init" binary.
So to finally stop this mess :
(after doing)
fastboot reboot recovery
Flash Magisk (rename it to .zip) in TWRP menu ... This will overwrite the original "init" with the Magisk one ... That's All !
This workaround should work for all devices with android 11 oem software pre-installed ! (tested on my oneplus 8 too)
DATA BACKUP & RESTORE PROCEDURE
- Create your backup in the internal storage, for faster process.
- Transfer the created "TWRP" folder to your PC/Micro-SD/USB Stick ... for future use & emergency !
- To restore "Data" again, just do the simple "wipe" before or restore on the fly !
If you do "format", your encryption files will be lost and you can't restore your "data" again, unless you boot to the system then reboot to TWRP to do the simple wipe again and restore !
TOOLS & GUIDES [must read +++]
. TWRP Universal Script
. Google Essential Pack
. LOS 18.1 : SafetyNet Fix & Full System Optimization
. GCam Fix : AOSP 11 / OSS 11
. Scoped Storage Disabler [11]
. Display Refresh Rate [60Hz]
. Downgrade / Upgrade Android versions

- rework from scratch the decrypter script ... no more useless stuff
- recompile recovery to (raw).img ... avoids the red splash warning (aka Soft Brick)

OK guys & girls,
Your ROM developer missed something very important in the fstab.qcom (userdata string) ... this flag : "wrappedkey".
Without this, no recovery in the whole galaxy will be able to decrypt your data !
Yes, you have a faulty build. I made for you (and him) the fix. So ask him to add it in the next build !
You have to flash again your build followed with this fix, then format data is mandatory even if he put the fix after ... there is no other way !
He should recognize this error ! (he should also be very careful and test his build before uploading)
As you can see, with the fix, TWRP is able to decrypt /data partition again !
Cheers
Brigudav's TWRP decrypts OSS builds without fstab fix.

To make it short : that's a wrong encryption in ArrowOS ! No rom developer use that (pixel, lineageos, miui ... etc) in any recent device !
Brigudav has made his own version of TWRP to support that error !
I'm telling you how the things should be done ... that's it. If you are happy with brigudav recovery, that's good for you !
