Is the Bootloader unlockable after downgrade to Oreo? - Huawei Mate 10 Questions & Answers

I bought a Mate 10 second hand that was running Emui 9.0.*
I downgraded to Oreo using the Hisuite method.
Now it is running EMUI ALP-L09 8.0.0.153(C432)
Android security patch is 1 October 2018
Is it still possible to either unlock the bootloader or root this version?
Thanks

Hi OP, how did you manage to downgrade to 8.0.0? With Hisuite I could only downgrade the system to 8.1.0.351. Hisuite is ver. 9.0.2.301

How to go back from EMUI 8.0 rooted to 5.1 stock?

Hi everyone! I have rooted and unlocked my H9 STF-L09, i find it ok i guess, but i really miss the EMUI 5.1 days... I just think that was better.
So i'm asking you, is there a way to go fully back to stock Nougat, maybe with locked bootloader?
Thank you for your attention.
If you are rooted, your bootloader's actually unlocked.
So, because you're on oreo, you could use HuRUpdater to downgrade to a nougat firmware.
I'll test C432B184 rollback packages, if C432 is your actual region, as this version is the latest nougat build released for honor9 :
Code:
C432B184 rollback packages:

Rollback on emui 8 to 5.1?

Hi fellow trying to get my emui 5.1 downloaded stock B183 emui 5.1 rollback I put it in dload -> update.app and it gives me software failder why not get it?
The rollback you downloaded is not meant to be used in firmware mode (dload).
It could be used whith HuRUpdater on a phone with unlocked bootloader.

Honor 10 EMUI9 update by firmware finder COL-L2-C432E4R1P9B159 WITH UNLOCK BOOTLOADER

Hello all,
I have a quastion any chance to update phone with COL-L2-C432E4R1P9B159? I have emui 8.1 v151 and unlocked bootloader and twrp.
First of all, I haven't tried it yet as well.
But shouldn't the update be like any other update?
I has performed the last updates with the HuRupdater and the instructions in https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-9/development/tool-flash-official-firmware-recovery-t3769279
which worked for me well.
I don't give any advice, but maybe this works with EMUI 9 as well.
I have the middle east version. I just tried to update it with hurupdater and everything went perfectly I'm running android pie now without any problems

[?] Using BLA-L29 8.0.0.142(C432), what if I upgrade ?

Hi there,
I'm running the BLA-L29 8.0.0.142(C432), (bootloader unlocked by Huawei), version using root via the last up-to-date Magisk.
The update manager ask me to update BLA-L29 8.0.0.145(C432) and maybe more after...
Question :
What will happen If I upgrade ?
Will I loose root after upgrade, or should I just re-apply Magisk via TWRP to regain root ?
Should I update until the very last 8.x version ?
Thanks for your answer/
PS : Will we one day receive Android 9 update also ??
- You will have newer version, but you won't be able to go back, if you install 146 and higher. No prob, if your phone is already unlocked.
- Yes, you will lose root. EMUI 8 (up to 8.0.0.157 so far) is still rootable with magisk, but with firmware 156 patch01 and higher you have to patch ramdisk with magisk and flash this file via fastboot.
- Why not?
P.S. Yes, a few people received EMUI 9 via OTA, but if you need root, you shouldn't update to EMUI 9 actually.

You could download the modified Odin and SimFirm applications on your computer, download the fw then update through Odin.
Or, you could go to https://firmware.science and follow the easy steps listed at bottom of the page. However I'm not sure this method will get you to the most current update.
Can I jump from my current android version to the most updated one? Or do I have to go though in between past updates?
Does this method work for the snapdragon version with locked bootloader?

Using Odin you can jump to the most current. And yes, as long as you choose the correct fw when downloading
