Hi!
Have xt1642 with panel mipi_mod_cmd_lgd_1080p_546_v0. Bought new screen with frames on Aliexpress, it turned out to be boe. Phone starts, but reboots every time after lock/unlock and heats much. Also, colors are darker and more saturated.
Will it be any help to make factory reset?
Or any way to make the screen work? Maybe drivers or smth like this?

Display backlight is not working of a sudden even when i keep the brightness at max and second screen is working but the display is not working with good backlight ! I just took the phone from my pocket and what i seen is the display is dim ! Display is so dim even when the brightness is kept at full and i dont know how this happenned and someone tell me the way to solve this problem ! Hi this also just happened to me. Image is working but no brightness in screen except some bright ess in top right corner. Phone overheated a couple kf times and shutdown after this initially happened and consumed 2 full batter chages in minutes. Now the heat and battery problem is gone but screen still dark. Any ideas

I`m having the very same problem. Back light of the main screen is gone, and it doesn`t matter how I adjust it, it is always dark.
Have you guys solved your problem already? Any ideas?

Having the same issue as of yesterday, been Googling possible reasons and it seems the 'backlight controller' has malfunctioned and the entire screen needs replacing (allegedly). Considering a new screen costs almost as much as the V10 itself on ebay these days I'm going to be trying to take mine apart to see if an easier fix is possible, it is more than likely there isn't, but I at least have to try. Let me know if any of you guys have any luck in repairing your phones

Update: Having replaced the screen with a new replacement screen, I am still having the same issue, indicating an issue with either the mainboard and/or the chipset. Can't really go much further with this it would seem so unfortunately I don't think the issue has any DIY fix...

My LG70 just did this for a few minutes
My LG70 just did this for a few minutes. Scared me to think my phone was dying. Restarted, still the same. While I was googling it, the screen came back on. Hope it stays that way. Really strange to take it out of my pocket and only have the screen lit in the upper right hand corner. I hope this wasn't a preview of things to come. Love this phone and want it to last!
I wake up today picked my phone and it was like that ( screen flicker / shake a bit from the top , much noticeable on white color ) I thought if I restart it might fix but didn't help . the flickering was also on when booting . when I first unlock the phone the shaking was on the whole screen but then after unlocking it disappeared and stayed on the top side like 20% of the display also it's less on the black color . didn't try to wipe or anything as I thought it won't do good so what is that actually ? and is there anyway to fix or maybe prevent it from spreading to the rest of the screen ? that is hardware issue right ?

It is called screen burn, there is a thread dedicated to this problem. Search for screen burn on this forum!
I'll check that out but how could it happen and this is the 3rd one I've had and they all did it. That's why i assumed it had something to do with the screen overlay.

life is this with V10, all have the same issue...mine only have 9 months since i buy it and have ghost images since 2 months from today and no solution...the only solution is send it to LG Repair Center and they change it, but mine lose the guarantee when i unlocked the bootloader so...i will not buy the screen since this is a known problem with V10 display.
better keep it going cool and avoid high levels of brightness only when is needed and avoid playing games since that warm up the phone and the screen will show ghost images. Then when it happens lock your phone, shut down the screen for 3/4 minutes and the ghost is gone...you need to do it everytime you see a ghost image and have trouble with them.
i dont bother with that...i love the phone anyway, when the screen die by itself i change it for another, but now let it rock even with ghost images.
Sofwtare side has nothing (mod or app) that can fix your problem...its the display problem (hardware).
Mine has heavy permanent ghosting that appears after minutes of use when the phone has rested overnight. Though I can prevent any ghosting from becoming visible by installing "Bluelight Filter for Eye Care" and set the filter to the black color with an opacity of just 3% (hardly even affects the maximum brightness). Stopping the display from showing the whitest of colors prevents the ghosting to apperar no matter how high brightness you have or for how long. At least on my unit. So now my screen is permanently perfect instead.

Thank you. I'll give that a try. Mine isn't that bad and sometimes doesn't show at all.

I had just did a factory reset and it's actually gone this time. I'm sure it will come back though.
I've been using v10 for a year now this image retention/ ghosting is really annoying but there's actually a solution to it by using screen filter.
if you apply the filter as soon as you turn on your phone after a while, when there are no temporary burns on screen. They won't come back if you keep the filter on.
I use blue light filter but I'm sure every filter will work even if you keep the filter at low opacity for example at 20%, it'll still work.
Give it a try.
and one more thing if the filter is on you might get an error while giving permissions to apps. so you have to turn off the filter when you get "screen overlay detected" error.
Wondering if any of you have a flickering of your screen when you press the power button or turn on the device. I notice in the top left of the device some pixels light up before an image is shown when turning on the screen. I'm still within the return window so I wouldn't want the device to have display issues down the line.

I have the S1 and have never see one part of the display light up before the rest, have you tested the screen,
Download a screen test app and go though the colors in a dark room, you can normally increase/decrease the brightness just by dragging your finger up and down the screen, check for any inconsistencies in the screen, a low brightness light gray shows up a lot of problems.

I returned that unit to Costco and bought another. Didn't want to risk it going bad later.

Hey everyone!
Hope you can help me although I highly doubt there’s any fix.
My screen is not dimming like before, brightness seems to be almost always on maximum, even at night. Tried reset and shutdowns, nothing works.
Because of that the lcd is now burned on the sides showing the famous yellow ring. This I believe has no fix. But at least the dimming problem. At night when I put it on the stand, it lights the entire room!
