Hide running app under overlay image - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there an app which draw an image on top of a running app in the foreground?
Here is the scenario:
- I am playing a game, let's say Pokemon Go
- This app in question would show a floating button
- If I press that button, an image will be drawn on the screen, covering the Pokemon Go app
- If I touch the screen, the image will be removed and I will see Pokemon Go app again
Yes, I want to be able to easily hide what is currently running on my phone lol, like a game for example. And the game won't run in the background.

Full Screen Video w/ no menu bar?

Hello all,
Now that I have netflix on my 10.1 I would like to start watching videos full screen which the tabs screen is the perfect size for. But when things are full screen the videos dont stretch to the full screen because of the bottom menu bar. Is there anyway to hide this bar while watching videos?
i second that!
There's nothing you can do. There's possibly something the developer of the software can do, but it hasn't been fully documented yet. This is at least the third thread on this subject -- use the search function next time.
I have been playing with some of the framework. It is possible to manipulate the resources so that the bar is removed. The issue is doing so programatically. We would have an event handler to remove the bar only when needed. And also, turn the bar back on when needed. I'll say its a PITA experimenting with the sysbar. That 'back' button is a necessity.

Look at any of the games published by Hexage (e.g., Everlands, Robotek). They dim the bottom bar just like the stock video player. It can be done.

DIM (video mode) and Remove are two different animals. The testing I was doing is to give me the ability to actually reclaim that screen real estate.

Sounds like a bad idea to me given the absence of hardware buttons, but since this is xda I nevertheless wish you luck in your experiments.
Seriously, its absurd that I have to watch videos with that stupid menu bar at the bottom. Even Amazon's stock gallery app does it! Yet somehow their own streaming video does not (and the streaming video appears to use the full screen resolution, not just dim the bar).
All you need to do is have it show up with all of the video controls when you tap the center of the screen - sorta like how amazon's own streaming video app works.
Download honeybar.
Well, apparently, it must somehow possible for the taskbar to be hidden completely on Honeycomb 3.2 because I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab Plus 7.0, and when the Kindle app runs, the taskbar completely disappears. If one taps the screen anywhere in the Kindle app, the taskbar pops back up.
Presumably, any app or video player could be written or modified to allow this capability, I would think.

Anyone get Horn to work?

One of my favorite games is the game Horn. I use to play it on my Tegra tablet, but can't get it to load up on either the stock system or CM10.1.
The screen goes black with the normal navigation buttons on the bottom, but nothing ever loads on the screen.
I have to click on the home button to exit and then the system runs choppy until I force close on the app.
Anyone have any luck getting it to run?

Is there a tweak that allows BOTH apps to be actively in foreground (split screen)

I'm looking to run multiple instances of the same app in split screen, but use them live at the same time. I can get both into split screen, but as we know, Android forces one in the background and the other in the foreground.
My question is, is there a tweak that exists, either for Closed, Magisk, or anything that gives us the ability to have both apps in split screen, active and in the foreground?
Kind of with Skyolinhelper or XHFW3. I can get a messaging app to continue running over a full screen app with them. Not all fullscreen apps though, like games pause still. Can't remember if XHFW can have more than one window active but Skyolinhelper I know can't. XHFW isn't working on Oreo.

Question Always open app in side-by-side when unfolding...

Anyone know if it's possible to always open the app (assuming the user has an app open) in side-by-side mode when unfolding?
Presumably this would need to be done with Tasker...
for that I use "Split Screen Launcher" in the play store BY paprikanotfound
*note sometimes it might be glitchy if one app was already open. but its a good enough way.
Actually you can do this natively by launching the apps in split-screen, then taking the splitter and saving to the home screen.
What I want though is for the app that your currently using in fold mode - when you unfold it automatically is on the left side of the screen and the home-screen shows on the right ready for you to launch a second app...
in that case you might be able to do it by using a new profile
choose State > Display Orientation > Landscape
then create a task for it search for split screen toggle and voila
*note this require my xml file

unfortunately using custom launcher breaks the default split screen shortcuts at least on my device.

Question Multi window behaviour

I have some questions about multi app.
1. Can go back to home only left or right side? I think normal android works like that.
2. Can I display home (colorOS) at left side? I want to display app om right side and home at left.
3. Can I switch an app on a side of divided screen from recent app? it may also possible on normal android phones.
Thank you in advance.
I noticed 2 can by smart side bar. App switch can also by dropping in from it.
But I'd like to do that quicker.
Can you know the way to reproduce same behaviour as drop in from smart side bar via tasker or something?
I want to create shortcut of that.
Also I'd like to know the app to be able to make shortcut of back home only one side to achieve 1.
I tried some display split apps and they can do that, but I have not found the app that can make shortcut.
