Help to Samsung SM-J260M - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Yeah, well.
I was trying to root my phone (SM-J260M) when the following error appeared on my device:
"An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software."
But on the Smart Switch I don't get anything to recover or reinstall. You only see what the image shows. I followed the steps of other users but I didn't show what to them, that option to reinstall. So, I downloaded the firmware from Frija and I have come across that it does not install the software. Clarification: you cannot enter the download mode or the recovery mode, it has remained on that screen. If I turn it off and try to enter one of the other modes, it simply shows the screen error I mentioned again. Do you have any solution?

[Q] Doesn't enter in recovery mode, doesn't start

Hello there,
Well, my Galaxy S 2, after uninstalling a program, got an error (black screen, need to restart...) and so doesn't start anymore (freezes at "Samsung Galaxy S II" screen) or enter in recovery mode (freezes with the robot on background, without letters). I have the download mode yet.
I tried to flash a rom with odin, but it freezes at "NAND write start" process (I've waited 30 min), and I have to abort disconecting the phone.
Could anyone help me?
Thanks
You get into the download mode. That's good. The flashing fails. That's not good.
We need more info to help you. The fact that you had some error and now cannot flash some firmware does not really help us. At least me...
Here are some questions I have:
What firmware did you try to flash?
What Operating System are you using?
Do you have KIES installed?
or
Where do you got the drivers from?
Did ODIN work in the past or did you never use it before?

Thank you for answering.
I've never flashed any firmware before on this phone (it has the original one). I tried to flash the stock XXKI1, using just the PDA field. So, Odin still at "NAND write start" part.
As I said, I had an error after uninstalling an app (launcher error), that I've forced to remove the battery. After that, the phone didn't start anymore (freeze at "Samsung Galaxy SII" screen), and I can't enter in recovery mode.
I don't have Kies installed (got the drivers separated).
Sorry that it took me so long to answer you.
If you still have the problem, I'll try my best to guide you through the process of restoring your device.
What do you want to install on your device?
-A stock rom
-A customrom based on TouchWiz
-CyanogenMod
-MIUI
Just let me know and I'll help you asap.
A stock rom...
Okay, where do you live? Or more accurate, what language do you want to use later?
Your first step is to get the "Heimdall Suite" up and running on your PC.
Download it from their homepage. Extract it somewhere where you can easily find it later. Then you'll need to install the drivers.
Put your phone into download-mode and plug it in. If they aren't installed yet, Windows will now start the installation. When completed, open the "drivers"-folder in the Heimdall folder. Run "zDiag" as administrator.
Enable the show all devices option and select either "Samsung USB composite device" or "Gadget serial" (depending on what's available in your dropdown-list). Install the driver and ignore the warning from Windows (install it anyway).
Now that everything is set up, your first step is to get the ".pit" file for your device. I'll check whether yours is valid. Open the Heimdall frontend as administrator and go into the last tab. Click on detect device and, if your device gets detected, click on print pit. If you get errors in the output, disconnect your phone, shut it down and enter download-mode again. Retry.
Please post the output here.

OTA Update Stuck in Recovery Mode_Error: Status 7(No Hard Keys-Volume Buttons)

Hello there,my Wave 8 HD+ stuck in android boot logo. I downloaded the wave8hd_20151105_v1.8 update thru wireless update and install, it says error in installing:
E:error in /mnt/internal_sd/adupsfota/update.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
My tablet is now in recovery mode and cant move highlight due to no volume buttons available,i can only select the "reboot system now" option.
Any other alternative for volume button so that i could just do the factory reset??
I also followed the detailed instruction on bluewave website on how to update the said Tablet thru PC but to no avail.
i emailed both the Telecom Company from where i get my Bluewave Tablet and the Bluewave Customer support but until now they stiil haven't replied yet.

" installing system update" then error comes in, my android is down.. i tried wipe date/ factory reset, still nothing.
Thanks in advance
Do you already solve your problem? because I have now the same problem as this.
I have pressed the wireless update then it restarted and it says an Error status 7.
I don't know what to do and how to deal with this problem.
can you help me?
My nextbook tablet rk3026 has a partition named metadata that holds the recovery boot commands. You could possibly try to wipe it and do a factory reset. I don't think it actually gets mounted so you would need to find a file the same size as the partition and dd to it. Or back up your system with rockchip flash tool then using a hex editor replace all data in metadata image with zeros. Obviously be careful. Here is a tool download with included guide credits to finless at freaktab(not sure if he is here at xda) for posting it.
http://freaktab.com/forum/developme...p-your-rk-device-rom-with-the-new-rk-2-1-tool
as always BACKUP and know if you don't do it correctly you may get a brick.
thank you for the response Destructos. but that solution won't help for my freakin weird tab 33gt HD+.
I get frustrated now
Problem solved
first thing to do is make sure that you have already installed the rkchip_usb driver in your computer.
What are the requirements?
1st of course your Tablet and Cable Connector
2nd Finless ROM Flash Tool v1.37
3rd Rokchip BatchTool v1.7
4th the update image/firmware for your Bluewave 8 HD+ that is downloadable from their official website
Steps:
1. off your tablet and connect it to the computer
2. open the Finless Rom Flash, uncheck all the boxes
3. turn ON your Tablet (be attentive) and while the blue screen is starting you may NOTICE that the ROM FLASH TOOL detected your device, it says "RKAndroid Mass Storage USB". when you have read that, press immediately the "Reboot Flash mode" and your device will in black screen. but ROM Flash tool still detected your device as "RKAndroid Mass Storage USB "
4. Open the Batch Tool, (you must know how to use it) find your image, then you will notice that the CONNECTED DEVICES below have color green, in that case you may now Click UPGRADE. wait for a minute and booooom, you device is functionable again.
have a feedback if it is helpful.
P.S.
before I go to that steps, when I am stuck in RECOVERY MODE of my device, I Click the Recover from BACKUP then my tablet restarts and it turns to BOOTLOOP and repeatedly saying NO COMMAND.

Why is it, when I do this, my tablet can't be detected by the software? I'm stuck on recovery mode. When it's on the blue logo, still does nothing.
I can only see my device when I look for it on Device Manager under Android Phone. Why is that? It doesn't show the "Other Devices". I've installed the driver but to no avail, still fails me. Please help. Thanks!

Is there anything I can do to fix my soft bricked phone? Very strange situation.

Hello. I just flashed the AOSiP OS ROM onto my Moto Z2 Force, and now I think my phone is soft bricked but in the strangest way possible.
I can't get past the booting animation so I can't get into the OS, but I can still get into recovery mode and download mode, but virtually nothing is working for me in those modes. In download (Fastboot Flash Mode) mode when I plug my phone into my PC, the computer doesn't let me do anything with the phone. If I plug it in Windows makes the sound like something has just been plugged in, but it doesn't let me access the device. If I go to devices and printers, I see it under unspecified as Fastboot nash S. And if I go to properties it recognizes it. It says Motorola ADB Interface and recognizes it as an android device, but I can't do anything with it and I can't access any files. Fastboot itself doesn't recognize the device either. When I type "adb devices" in my command prompt it doesn't come up in the list, and so I can't flash anything from my computer to fix this. I think it may be because before my phone bricked USB debugging wasn't enabled, but I don't think there is any way to enable now. If anyone knows of a method to enable it that'd be awesome.
I have installed all appropriate drivers, and up until right now it has detected it with no problem.
This is what the command prompt says when I try to detect it: (also tried adb sideload with no luck)
C:\Users\Louis\AppData\Local\Android\Sdk\tools>adb sideload twrp-3.3.1-0-nash.img
loading: 'twrp-3.3.1-0-nash.img'
error: no devices/emulators found
C:\Users\Louis\AppData\Local\Android\Sdk\tools>adb devices
List of devices attached
If I go to recovery mode (it was TWRP but now after flashing AOSiP it's back to just regular android recovery mode because I made a mistake so I lost everything) I get an immediate error message saying:
"Supported API:3
E: Failed to Clear BCB message: failed to open /dev/block/bootdevice/by-game/mi.... and the rest of the text goes off screen and I can't see it.
Below that it says
: No such file or directory."
If I try apply update from SD card I get an error message saying:
-- Couldn't mount /sdcard.
Installation aborted. Followed by the same error message as above.
Just like with download mode this was working perfectly fine before flashing this rom.
I feel totally stuck and I have no idea what to do.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Stuck in locked bootloader download mode

Hey all, hope everyone is having a great day (I'm not),
I own a SM-T510 Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 WiFi.
It all started when I tried to flash Nexus and it worked partially, but I didn't gain access to my internal storage for some reason, so I reverted back to stock rom.
Then for some reason part of the nexus rom was still there, but I was afraid of damaging my device further.
For some reason, netflix wasn't working, so I tried to apply a software update to my device using Smart Switch.
The update didn't work and I was caught in a Nexus bootloop. I entered download mode and I tried flashing twrp using odin. I thought it worked until I realised that it wouldn't get past the teamwin screen.
I re-entered download mode and there it gave me an option to factory reset the device while locking the bootloader. This is where I screwed up as I thought what else could possibly happen to my device?
SO I locked my bootloader and whatever I did I couldn't get out of download mode. AND here I screwed up even more. I tried to flash the stock ROM again using odin as a last resort but it just wouldn't complete after 10 minutes, so I closed Odin and restarted my device and here I am, stuck in a screen that says, "An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software." Now obviously this wouldn't work because my device isn't even listed there. But to note, my device is recognised by Odin and my PC.
Note: I am an absolute noobie at rooting so be easy on me.
Note 2: adb and fastboot doesn't work for me for some reason, my powershell says, "The term 'fastboot' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program.
Check the spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct and try again."
Thank you all for any help. I am at my wit's end.

Phone on bootloop - can only access fastboot&rescue mode

Hi everyone! So, I have an Huawei Mate 10 lite that suddenly stopped working. It isn't rooted and its bootloader is locked. It was working fine up until that point and then it turned off starting a bootloop that is still going on after a long a time.
Since going into fastboot&rescue is the only shortcut key that seems to be working, I tried doing what it said "Please connect USB cable to your computer and open Hisuite". However, HiSuite says that is cannot support system recovery in my phone which is simply hilarious...
I tried putting and update.app file on a dload folder in the root of the sd card after seeing some people suggesting that - but I can't access the upgrade mode (volume up and down + power does absolutely nothing). Also, since Huawei decided they should just turn their backs on this phone, all download links to the update roms are down and I had to download it from a Russian website - perhaps it not being the correct version is the problem with me not being able to go into upgrade mode, but I honestly have no idea how to even get another version.
I tried flashing through adb but since the bootloader is locked, it gives me a "command not allowed" message.
Going into recovery is impossible, it goes into bootloop also, just like upgrade mode.
I'm getting quite desperate since nothing seems to be working... Please, if you have any suggestions, HELP! I'll be throwing this damn thing against a wall if I'm not able to fix it soon
