Airpods Pro bluetooth call quality issue - OnePlus 7T Pro (Regular & McLaren) Q & A

I bought some bluetooth earphones(airpods pro) on the 25th, and they worked absolutely fine with calls and the quality was exactly the same as listening to music. However since the 28th, when i'm on a call, the audio quality suddenly drops to what you'd expect with a really bad signal, muffled unclear sound. If I switch to the phones speaker mode the sound quality is extremely clear as you'd expect.
I've tried wiping bluetooth cache, I've uninstalled all apps and reinstalled, and reset the bluetooth earphones. I've factory reset the phone twice, the second time with a completely fresh install but the issue is still present. I'm calling in whatsapp, discord, google duo etc. I assume this is a software issue with a recent update because I didn't have this issue on the first couple of days, unless it's something that I've only noticed and I've tricked my self into thinking that it wasn't an issue at first.
Has anyone had the same issue, and how can I fix this as it's quite frustrating since I bought these earphones for good call quality.

Try disabling AAC in the AirPods Pro's setting. SBC has a higher quality on OnePlus devices with AirPods Pro anyway

[Q] Microphone problem

I have a strange issue with my microphone or maybe I should call it sound pickup, on my SII.
When I take, or initiate a call, the sound quality of my voice on the other end is terrible, when I use the built in microphone. and I mean LOW ... like it almost sounds like I am not talking into the mike at all...
If I have the wired headset engaged, or a bluetooth one and take, or initiate a call, sound is excellent through the headset. But if I during the call, disconnect the headset, and reconnect it, the sound is also terrible through the headset.
I had my phone for a while running on Lightning 1.2 and sound was great, before sending it in for repairs (battery was faulty). After I got it back, I quickly flashed it to Lightning 4.2 and I can't remember if sound was working before that. I couldn't wait to get Lightning back on instead of the built in crap.
I've tried flashing other roms and kernels, but the problem remains the same.
Any idea's??
I am aware of these threads where people have similar problems, but I haven't heard anyone describe having no problem with the headset, but having a problem when de and reattachiong the headset ... sounds like sw to me. !?!??

have same **** and i search entire forum i heard another ppl have this problem
did u try between ur calls to disable the noise reduction
Hi, yeah I tried disabling noise reduction, and it didn't make any difference. It actually got a little worse, according to my GF but not much.
Can you reproduce that it works fine when using the headset at the beginning of a call?
my problem is that ppl hear in such eco thing and this is crazy everyone say they don't hear me good
Okay. Then I don't think our problems are related.

[Q] Static Noise From Speaker?

Hi everyone,
I recently purchased a Z Ultra and I've noticed an issue with the internal speaker:
When the speaker is utilised (for example, from the screen lock/unlock sound, or touch sound), the speaker emits a soft but audible buzz/static for about 3 - 5 seconds after the sound has played. I can hear this buzz ~40cm from the phone in a quiet room (living room).
Does anyone else have this issue?
UPDATE: I have received a new phone from warranty and it does not have the buzzing that I was experiencing with the previous phone.
This isn't normal at all. It could be a hardware issue, but do a factory reset first and see if that helps. Backup your stuff before you do it (use Sony's backup app) since it'll wipe everything. If the noise is still there, i guess you'll have to use you warranty (i know that sucks).
I have the same issue, will be wiping the phone and installing dogg rom and will let you know if it goes
Thanks for the replies, I will take it into the local Sony store today and see what they say.
Edit: The sony store said they don't handle warranties and got me to call the Sony mobile division instead, who then said it is definitely a fault and I should return the product.
I noticed the same problem today and promptly started freaking out lol.
I turned off Clear Phase and xLoud in the sound settings it got rid of the static. Hope that helps.
I think it's normal and any device have it. (for a 1 sec)
I also heard a buzzing noise for less than a second after notification tone is played, all the time.
Is this normal? Are you sure it is eligible for a replacement? I have also turned off xloud, digital normalizer etc to make sure the buzzing sound still persist!
Just need a second opinion here...

(Z5 Compact / E5823) Speaker volume lowering itself

Greetings.
Just bought the Z5C. Phone is awesome, but when I play anything over the speakers (incoming call, music, etc.) the volume is good for about a second, and then it turns very silent.
Anyone experienced this, or knows something about the issue?

Hey! I had this same issue for the first day that I had the phone. It was driving me crazy. What drives me even more crazy is I don't what I did to fix it. I am not entirely sure, but I noticed a difference after pairing the Z5C to a bluetooth speaker for about 30 minutes. When I unpaired and went back to the speakers on the phone they were substantially better. Hope this helps...

I was trying different things on my phone and decided to factory reset it. After it rebooted the same problem is back. Low volume for second, then super quiet. I tried replicating the same process I thought somehow fixed the issue before and it didn't help. I've tried messing with all the audio settings, toggles here and there but nothing seems to fix it. I wonder what this might be and why the phone all of a sudden started working like it should last time. Any help would be much appreciated.
Hi, I had the same problem with lower sound from speakers after 30 seconds. After disabling "STAMINA" the speakers are very loud. And if you put "Audio settings" to "standby aktive" you could even activate "STAMINA" without speaker loudness problems
Yeah happened to me yesterday as I was listening to the Radio app while on a walk. Went from relatively loud to super low quiet. I thought maybe I pocket bumped the volume or something.
Same problem. In my case, I noticed audio almost stops from one of the speakers (sometimes the top one, sometimes the bottom one, wich indicates it may not be a hardware issue). Happens on games, music, videos, or calls with the speaker on. Seems to be random.
searching for this problem (this is also happening to me (mostly top speaker while i playing and mostly games
is only one speaker(top) for me not 2 speakers
(maybe the heat? if im not the only one is hardware or software? ) it was at 5.1.1 so updated to 6.0 still the same.. maybe speaker wont working well while heated? tried to shake the device thought maybe something loose connection inside

Xperia XZ1 Issues

I purchased a brand new XZ1 recently, and noticed below issues with the phone.
Curious to know if anyone else in this forum is facing similar issues, and if there are any fixes available (or if I should return my phone - which I don't want to do unless these are due to manufacturing defects).
1. The speaker sounds tinny when used as a speakerphone. Increasing the volume distorts the quality further, and even at high volume, I'm unable to hear the calls properly. While playing audio, the sound is noisy and muffled. I modified the equalizer settings which mitigated this issue, however there is still considerable amount of noise when using the speaker.
2. The Wi-fi doesn't scan most of the available networks. I have a Blackberry which finds almost twice as many Wi-fi signals as my XZ1.
3. The last fully charged date on my Battery settings shows as 35 days ago. But I purchased the phone only a couple of days ago, so I'm wondering if it might be a refurbished one, or if the settings is showing the factory installation date.

[Elephone S8] Loudspeaker issue

Hello to all,
I got an Elephone S8 for my girlfriend and in general I think you get a lot of phone for the price!
One thing I noticed is that whenever you have a WhatsApp call and you turn on the Loudspeaker on the Elephone S8 there will be distortions in the audio.
It is not hearing an echo or something it is more of a static noise and squeaking that can be heard every few seconds (it is not constant).
Did anyone having that phone also experience that problem so far ?
Same thing here, but only with WhatsApp calls and WhatsApp video calls.
+1 same issue (+ with Viber)
Only with Video call and turned on Loudspeaker
Same Issue

Yeah my girlfriend recently bought this phone too, I found she had the same problem with Whatsapp, skype and google duo voice and video calls.
Same sort of noises, static, video quality was terrible and a squeaking microwave high pitched noise intermittently.
When we switched her wifi off and used her 4g it was better but still similar issues.
The phone is amazing but this is annoying, i hope there is a fix for it as it is quite an important feature.
Has anyone resolved this?
I had distortion and noise issues on speakerphone until I realised I had the phone at full volume. Reducing the volume a couple of notches got rid of the feedback and resulted in much better call quality.
Don't know if this will resolve your issue. Good luck!
