P30 Pro India EMUI 10 - Huawei P30 Pro Guides, News, & Discussion

So, its been more than a month EU devices were released with EMUI 10, in India However the situation is different. 1st of all I tried to flash EU firmware and my device got locked out saying "your device has flashed incorrect firmware" after that I have been to huawei service about 10 times and after a month, I got the device in working condition with replaced firmware. A quick question though, despite being such good phone, they are spoiling it with localization. Is there any way I can rebrand my phone from C675 to C431? It seems this is the only way. Looking forward to replies from experts. I would like to add that Huawei service have no clue when EMUI 10 will be hitting the devices in India, that's a sad state of affairs here in India.

Hi, I got it from Huawei Center in Pune, they flashed 9.1.0.118 and asked me to stay on that version for 1 month, I ignored their instruction and flashed 9.1.0.194 via the e-recovery. But then that's about it.

Downgrade is not possible, even if you downgrade it won't let the phone boot up. I am sure I am on different board.

Hey Guys, I am having similar issues.. the last update I had was 9.1.0.194 via e-recovery a couple of days ago. I had logged a ticket with Huawei support about a month ago and was constantly following up. I just got a call from one of their engineers a few min ago. He mentioned that you need to be on 9.1.0.242 before the phone updates to Android Q (Version 10.x.x.x). He advised me to check on eRecovery again.
I just checked and 9.1.0.242 (around 4.2 GB) is now available on eRecovery and is currently downloading on my phone. Will post an update after it finishes installing and if I see the update to Android Q after that..
Fingers crossed and Cheers !

As an update, no more updates after 9.1.0.242 : /
Tried System update, HiCare, HiSuite and eRecovery.
eRecovery just downloads 9.1.0.242 again..
Will post here if I get an update..

What I have observed is when I use mobile data it shows emui 10 update available. But when im on wifi which is different ISP it says emui 9 is the latest.

Thanks, but I have tried with WiFi and with 4G separately and also clearing cache\data for HiCare, HiSuite, eRecovery update as well. Guess I would have to wait for it or flash a dload firmware when available...

As an update, got the OTA yesterday..

I am still on version A2017GV1.0.0B01, System Update does not discover any OTA update. B02 is out, I would expect it to show up as an OTA update? Or will B03 the first OTA update?

I have the a2017u, but you can easly update to b02 with the update. Zip provided by ZTE download of these update is about 2.3gb ,don't have the link but look for it in this forums you'll find it

I have good contacts with ZTE so I'm here to help the European users. As I stated in the topic you should see this update next week. It will be OTA as well.
Great news. Nothing about the notification bell? Or is that the dynamic lockscreen you mentioned?

Thanks for sharing, appreciate it.
If you have good contacts with ZTE Europe, maybe you can answer this:
1. Why is there no EU community, like there is a US community forum?
2. Why was the B02 update not released as an OTA update?
Thanks for the update rikin93,
Do you know if the issues with the notification of the third party apps have been fixed?
I posted earlier that whatsapp doesnt show notification sounds, it shows ringtones instead.
Is there any way (without rooting) for ZTE to include the features like lock screen photos change and stock android theme for A2017G version?

If this comes true I will be pre-ordering. The not "unlockable bootloader" for the European model is the only thing holding me back. (I need LTE Band 20)
Keep in mind that device dispatching this days come out of the box with B02 software version so don't need to update to this version.
Just wait the newly B03 firmware update.

If I buy a Chinese version in China, 4GB+128GB, I presume I wont get this OTA update when I'm back in the UK.
What should I do then? Will I have to root if I want to flash it with EU rom?

The Chinese version has its own set of updates that are posted on the Chinese ZTE forums. They're different from the European updates. Over OTA, you'll only get the Chinese updates. Additionally, the Chinese model has different bands than the European model, so be sure that it has the bands used by your carrier before you purchase one.
At the moment, the only way to flash another region's ROM is to unlock the bootloader, which there is no method of doing on either the Chinese or European models.

Thanks for the tips. I'm current on EE UK and I've just compared the supported bands. Looks like I'm still covered by 1800MHz(band 3) and 2600MHz(band 7) for 4G.
I guess the there are no major flaws in the Chinese version like what we saw among the EU version. So if I just install all the necessary GAPPS then it should be good to go right?
I've asked ZTE for another update but I really doubt the 4GB+128GB version would be on the offer in EU market any time soon.
The notification bell is a UI feature of ZTEs software. I have no news about this and I doubt they will remove it atleast until the nougat release.
Regarding the bootloader, they are discussing this for the EU like I mentioned the EU and US laws are different when it comes to affecting warranty. Legally in the EU they cannot void warranty regardless of bootloader unlock. They will get back to me as soon as it has been discussed and I will reply to you.
B02 wasn't released over OTA as it wasn't a bug fix release.
USA seem to have more support as they were intended to hit the market first and the official public release hasn't happened yet in the EU. It will come soon.
Also I highly suggest you wait for the B03 release as it will fix all/most bugs and make this a phone worth getting. In my honest opinion even without the bootloader unlock I would get this over the OP3 but let's hope we see an unlock too. They have told me they don't want to discriminate against the USA and let's hope they keep their word.

If they are smart, they will make it optional, at least. That's all we need.
can someone test camera in night with that update? with auto and manual?

Well it's quite a bad UI feature since it hinders music controls and nearly every reviewer thinks it's annoying, and should at least be optional. I must admit I was almost certain that they would make it optional very fast. I really hope they still will.

LG H860. Need Indian firmware v10j-IND-XX

Hello guys,
I am using LG G5 H860 imported from dubai. Current firmware is for taiwan.
It does not support VOLTE for Indian bands.
I have flashed the firmware (supposed to be Indian )H86010j_00_OPEN_ESA_DS_OP_0804.kdz
provided here - http://lg-firmwares.com/lg-h860-firmwares/
Sadly the above firmware does not support the volte for indian bands.
From my understanding v10j-IND-XX supports VOLTE (reliance jio).
Would appreciate if anyone can provide the firmware.

LG G5 Indian Firmware
Hi Guys, I'm also using same Taiwan firmware and waiting for Indian firmware to use VoLTE Service
I am too in line waiting for Indian firmware. Thanks
Its of no use. I had a (sea) version . I visited to Lg service center . And the engineer was very helpful.
V10J is just a FOTA KDZ size of 590 mb. You can not simple install it . It will brick ur pcb . Inorder to proceed you first need to install ver LG H860V10C-00-Ind .
Once its is done if you modem version allow the baseband it will let to get direct to V10J . or you need wait till LG BRIDGE detects the same.
I got mine done .
Good luck with yours.

I suppose LG G5 Indian variant is also H860 instead of some people mentioning it as H860N. If someone wants to try emergency firmware recovery using LG support tools http://www.mylgphones.com/lg-software-tools-download on imported H860 using IMEI No of Indian G5, drop me a pm.

Software update frequency???

I'm thinking about buying a Mate 10 pro next week, and I was wondering, how often does this phone receive security updates? This is quite important to me as I like to receive regular software updates.
Till now every month, check on firmware finder.

I recieved only one! in like 4 months! (Europe - Germany)
my has security update from january. eu version c432. dont see any newer that is approved for l29 with imei check in firmware finder
For me (bla-l29 c432) monthly updates are available around the 3th week of the month.
We're still waiting for 8.1 tho.

Even when unbranded it seams that carriers can withhold some uodates, Vodafone NL known to always delay the updates for unbranded Nokia phones for example. When putting some other simcard on the phone, people get updated right away.
The same can be said for the Mate is my guess, I got my phone it was stuck on B127, after contacting Huawei they told me that B129 was the latest firmware, and they've asked for my IMEI, a few days later I saw that I was able to install the update via Firmware Finder.
On the T-Mobile forum there were other people complaining that December and January updates didn't happened.
A friend of my on Tele2, got the phone one week before mine and his phone got the B129 update as soon as he had everything setup.
Check firmware finder, if not available for your IMEI, contact Huawei.
So in my case - there should be no german dude here with a higher version then 129 (ota ofc)?

I'm German too and still stuck with 129, can't even installed the updates which are approved for my imei, because always after finishing the download it verifies the update and tells me that the package is bad or so and removes it again. God damnit, that's so annoying. HTC lately is slow on u11+ updates too, Huawei has stupid way of pushing updates too. What is wrong with all those companies. Nokia is not good enough for me, Samsung is well, it just sucks anyway. Apple the same. There is no oem other than Google itself pushing updates properly and fast enough. But their phones are too expensive

Update Firmware Numbers
Hi Evreryone,
My first post here.
Can anyone please help me with the relevance of the firmware numbers?
Do these stay the same and then you look for the most recent date in the firmware finder with the current version?
I am on L09 8.0.0.128(C432) which was last updated in January, is this version always the same for my phone or is L09 8.0.0.129(C432) a newer version?
I am desperate to try anything to rid me of the worst audio headphone quality I have had on a phone, I have tried to force the change to AAC on my Jaybirds but as others have experienced the developer mode doesnt exactly play ball on this phone.
Its the only thing stopping the phone being perfect for me!

yeah i got b129 too and huawei rep said thats the last firmware for my imei. i was just wondering how can some ppl get faster updates with exactly the same phone model l29 432.
i mean i can put in different provider sim in but that wont change imei i guess. when i check ff with imei it said newer was available and gave me link for L09. like how is that even possible.

No it won't change the IMEI, but Huawei will know that you've changed carriers.
I mean this is a theory that is not confirmed.
On Nokia is confirmed that Vodafone Netherlands always withhold the updates for the phones that supports VoLTE on their network, putting any other simcard will make the phone trigger the update instantly.

How are you checking?
You should select your own model

Check for IMEI clearance on the full ota
If availiable, enter get update through DNS, register the update and select change DNS (a VPN connection will open)
And voila download the update via system update.
This is how it worked for me.
yeah. you see on that photo that its confirmed for BLA-L09 even tho model is l29. that felt strange to me
Oh I hadn't even noticed that.
I was checking on the usual prints I make and indeed said l09, but I've installed it anyways back then lol
But I haven't seen any improvement, maybe on the 137 for the battery, so waiting won't make a huge difference.
Only thing that they solved was Maps on PiP.
well. if it doesnt come in next 2 weeks il do the same. for the sake of security update if nothing else

The M10P was rated as Enterprise Phone or to be more precise: there is an Enterprise version of this phone. This rating includes that Huawei needs to roll out the security patches within 90 days after they have been published by Google to keep that rating beside other obligations. But the regular security patches are the benefit we (with our "normal/non-business" phones) we have.
So Huawei has some 30/32 days left to publish the update with the February patch officially. Seems a long time but after that we should receive almost monthly updates as about 30 days later it will be 90 days after the march update has been published and so on.
So be a bit patient if you are waiting for the official updates. I'm sure it will come soon. If you're not that patient install Firmware Finder and check regularly for updates with clearance for your IMEI. You will also receive further OTA updates if a firmware version (B131, B138 etc) is officially rolled out. If not, you need to install the next firmware also via FF.

I am on L09 8.0.0.128(C432) which was last updated in January, is this version always the same for my phone or is L09 8.0.0.129(C432) a newer version?

Yes, 129 is a newer version for your phone.
L09 = Mate 10 Pro Single SIM Version
8.0.0 = Android Version
.129 = Firmware Version number (increases with further updates)
(C432) = Region the phone is registeres for (C432 = Europe)

Which Jaybirds do you have? Do they support AAC? You can not change the CODEC to something the headphones do not support.

Can't unlock bootloader

No Huawei site links are reachable.
DC Unlocker doesn't seem to recognise the modem/phone.
Even if it did, paying seems weird to me.
How/where did you guys unlock your bootloader?
(Got the phone 2 days ago, so far so good)

Root done !! with DC Unlocker but you must pay 4 €.. i've rooted the P20 lite into 10 minutes
Guide: download the ultimate versione of the tool
Set Manifacturer to Huawei Phone
re detection Huawei Android phones, enable 'Manufacture' mode:
in dial pad type *#*#2846579#*#* for Qualcomm and Kirin based models and set into Background/Usb ports setting Manifacture mode
Auto detect Model ( just download drive from here : https://www.dc-unlocker.com/huawei_phones_detect_unlock_tutorials ) you need it for the ports usb check
Buy the 4 credit and login in the app with your DC user & pass. now read the bootloader code and save it... done!
Just follow the root guide in this forum to unlock the bootloader with the code.

Currently Huawei's bootloader unlock website is down.
You are able to request unlock codes via this Google Doc: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeGwoQ44zqykuTfjCQrVP07JOHBYnBcAxAbz9SAVxPTFqMh9g/viewform
More info here: https://www.xda-developers.com/honor-huawei-bootloader-unlock-page-disappears/
Hope it helps.
EDIT: it seems the Google Doc is no longer available. Let's hope they open it again, or better, get the website up and running. *bump*

They're saying they're looking into it, but meh.
I mailed them yesterday and they said "Huawei Turkey doesn't support unlock codes" like what? Phone country is "EU", not "TR" anyway!

Turkey is an European country my brother, so perhaps when you contact Huawei in Europe they send it to a costumer support in some country. It also happened to me once, got a reply from Huawei France (and they solved my problem)

Where did you talk to them? They rejected me.
Also, what were you waiting for? They'll always say it will void your warranty.
Unless it's not a software issue, they have to take the phone and repair without asking for money.

I've talked with Huawei Customer Service (Hungary) by phone , with their call center, they told me anything happens, even if its hardware releated, its just voids the guarantee, so only paid fixing will be avaiable ...
They gave me an e-mail address, i need to fill a form, and they gonna send me the code.

I'm currently in process of unlocking it.
EU law especially specifies it to be repaired, even the bootloader is unlocked and/or the end-user has root access.
Huawei may talk like that, but that's because they're a Chinese brand. Of course they won't want you to change the firmware.
Samsung talks like that too (when KNOX is tripped after flashing custom firmware via Odin). They repair it.

Can I Flash Z5C SO-02H with E5823 Stock ROM?

Hey guys, first of all , sorry for my bad english.
I Have a Sony Z5 Compact Japanese version (SO-02H) with Nougat 7.0 operating system
I wonder if i could flash this version with the global E5823 firmware. Is it possible?
And if i could successfully flash the firmware, what will go wrong?
really need your help..
Thanks for your concern
I haven't had much experience with the Z5 Compact, but in the past I've flashed the Japanese Z1 Compact (SO-02F) with firmwares from other regions and it worked just fine. I never got NFC working but I'm not sure if that was a firmware issues or just a problem with that phone in general.

Yes I also tried flashing an E5823 UK Generic firmware but unfortunately, it always gets stuck on .sin errors. We'll just have to live with Japanese bloatwares I guess

Out of curiosity, what were the errors? Was it from newflasher at the beginning when checking that the device matched? Or was it actually during flashing one of the .sin files?
The former is possible to work around - I've seen the same thing when trying to flash E5823 <-> E5803 firmwares. The latter I'm not certain about...

I bought my Xperia Z5 Compact last year. It's one of those for which NFC cannot be turned on. It had come with an outdated E5823 firmware. After testing some custom ROMs, I ended up updating it to a stock E5823 Nougat ROM (obviously rooted through the stable Magisk v20.4). Nevertheless, after checking my Xperia account, I've found out that its IMEI number actually belongs to a SO-02H model. So, go figure!

If your bootloader is unlocked, download the stable Magisk v20.4 zip file and install it through a custom recovery (usually TWRP), either directly or via adb sideload.

Dial *#*#7378423#*#* and check under configuration if bootloader unlock allowed=yes. You can switch the firmware from Docomo to a 5823 (or 5803) variant. You need to edit an .xml file to do so prior to bundling the .ftf while xperifirm is still open after downloading it.

@gayungan
Yes, you can still change your firmware with an official generic rom from other regions (ie 5823 or 5803). You may loose functionality of NFC, but that's about it; your IMEI will not be touched (nor will your radio bands) , it will also not change your bootloader lock status.
