1st Screen and phone protector combo - OnePlus 7T Pro (Regular & McLaren) Accessories

Picked up the McClaren 5g version from T-Mobile yesterday, and I'm in love with the phone, throughout. Beautiful design, hardware, software. Everything.
I wanted a protective case however did not want to cover the beautiful back.
I figure the combo is cheap enough that I can get something else if this doesn't fit my needs.
Anyone else tried either of the two products?

What combo are you referring to? (No link or images provided.)
RhinoShield has the Crash Guard bumper & a clear skin for the backside (screen protector also available).
This combo definitely fits what you're looking for.
As with all of the Crash Guard bumpers, it adds quite a bit of an increase to the overall width of the phone. If that isn't a factor one way or the other, I'd say you need to look no further.
I'm sure there's some aluminum bumpers available from eBay & the like, but, they offer little to no protection & likely have an even more uncomfortable grip vs the included case or, the RhinoShield Bumper.

THX for posting the pix. :good:
There's several different mfgs with this design to be found on Amazon/e-Bay/Ali Express, etc......
I like the idea of clear cases in general, but, most seem to have some nagging traits....
The rainbow effect comes to mind right off the bat, as well as being a fingerprint magnet.
Most don't wear well after a few weeks of use, with scuffs/scratches.
A matte clear case may negate most of the above, but, likely will obscure the true appearance of the decorative backside.
I've seen some all-glass cases, encasing the entire phone, front & back, might not be a bad way to go.

I've had luck with uag clear cases, however, as you know they aren't truly 100% transparent and clear due to their honey comb pattern design.
That all glass case is a pretty interesting design, never seen it before. I wouldn't imagine it would look as good after 3,4 drops compared to a plastic /poly case.
I'm definitely not opposed to trying a different combo if this one doesn't work, as it was less than 20 dollars. I did look into the dome whitestone glass sp, however I'm opposed to applying an actual adhesive to my screen.
Any other decent glass sp that doesn't require adhesive?

Here's the case. After closely examining the edges of the phone and case, I am not sure this screen protector will be compatible as I will interfere at edges and pull up.

The screen protector and case fit perfectly. A bit different installation method then what I'm usually used to, but got it perfect on the second try. Very pleased.

Here is pic trying to show the case edge and sp slight separation. A bit hard to see, but at $8 for 3 sp, I'm surprised by the quality of the sp.

Update.. I've been using the 7t pro mclaren case with the sp and fits flawlessly

Your case isn't even compatible with the phone. You are covering the laser autofocus area on the back. The 7 Pro cases don't have the necessary cutout. You need a 7T Pro case.

I know this was already addressed in a different thread. No longer using that case. Now using the one that came with the mclaren.

It fits nicely like it is made for each other. it has maybe 1mm gap between the glass protector and case.

Spigen Mini Review

The Spigen Ultra Hybrid case is well constructed like all of their other products. The case features a clear back and TPU bumper. Spigen claims that the back panel has a scratch resistant coating, which I found not be very effective. I have had the case on my phone for about 4 days now and there are noticeable scratches on the back already. Other than that big pitfall, the case is great. There isn’t a lot of added bulk to it, and it looks nice on the phone. The case itself is very slippery with the TPU giving you minimal grip. I am happy with the appearance of the case, but I might have to contact Spigen about their claims that it has a ‘scratch resistant coating’. I did not notice any difference compared to a regular clear plastic case which scratches just as easily.
Now we move onto the Spigen Slim Armor case. As with their other slim armor cases this one does in fact add some bulk to the phone. The feel is nice, but the edge where the plastic back meets the TPU has a sharp feel to it that I did not experience on my Note 3’s slim armor case. The one nice feature is the large cut out for headphones and the small TPU above the volume buttons that prevents your finger from sliding onto the camera lens. This case will more than likely be my daily driver because it protects the phone rather well.
Both of these cases feature a small 0.1mm lip that keeps your screen off whatever surface you may rest it on. This of course is assuming that you place your phone face down. The cases also accommodate the Spigen Nano tempered glass screen protector as can be seen in my pictures. I hope that Spigen continues to improve their products and comes up with a better coating to resist scratches on their Ultra Hybrid cases.

Yeah, its unfortunate, but its better than a broken phone. I put "mini" in the title because its not a extensive review. The case models are Ultra Hybrid (the clear one) and Slim Amror (the blue one) for clarification.

Thing about hybrid cases is the softer inside cases starts loosing shape if you have a phone that gets a lille hot. It happens with my neo hybrid on the s4.. Just under the camera where the processor sits there's a bulge. Its because it gets hot near that area and now the back isn't flush but has a bulge and let's dust in through the camera cutout. So instead of protecting my phone the back cover is now scratched to bits. But the g3 slim armor case doesn't look like it will have that problem as the back plate covers most the back.

Any info they will make a version without antena hole ?
Just received email from Spigen
They probably will make the not-with-hole version
Supcase makes the same case as this, without the antenna cutout. Based on another user's feedback on one he got for his g3, they have a great fit. They also have good reviews for their other cases on amazon. I ordered one in clear/gray.

Is the lip enough high to protect the screen of G3?
Does the ultra hybrid case have the scratches resistance?
And....I saw the post that Spigen have some plans to make the case without antenna outlet.

It is supposed to but due to the lg g3 being rounded it can't have feet to prevent scratches. Thus it scratches very easily o have tried 2 of them just in case the first was defective , but both scratch easily.

Not sure where to post this, but here it is. So I've seen this question around, because I had the same question. But was wondering if Spigen had a US version of their Slim Armor case (no cut out for the antenna) for the LG G3. From pictures and information I've seen I didn't really see much. But I went ahead and ordered one off amazon anyway because I liked the design. I just received it in the mail today and opened it up, and found that it's a US version. It does not have the antenna cut out. Needless to say I was ecstatic, and figured I would post this for anyone needed such a case.

[Q] Case

Has any users here used or have this case for their nexus 6? I already paid for it and it will be here tomorrow using amazing 1 day shipping. Curious what others think.
I have it. Bought it and the ringke fusion same time. I like both, and quality seems to be identical. That being said I find I use the ringke more as it has the accent depression on the back that feels good in hand, as well as the protruding buttons are easier to distinguish.
The upside if the spigen however, is that it seems to have less of a rainbow effect on the back at certain angles.
I have this case, I love it because of the clear back, really shows off the beauty of the Nexus 6. However, as mentioned by the other poster, this case makes it very hard to distinguish the power and volume buttons. The buttons on my case also weren't very tactile, I always find myself hitting the wrong one. But, I still thoroughly enjoy this case, it protects the Nexus 6 very well.

Thanks. I am putting a dbrand skin on it...blue one actually. So excited about this. Thanks I always used Spigen for all my devices. Just figured I ask. Is this a slip on type one or is it clip like the metal ones? I didnt really find anything about how it gets put on.
I just push the bottom of the phone in and snap it down in. The border is tpu, so it has some flex while offering some drop protection.
I use a black carbon fiber slickwrap on my n6, and it really does emphasize the beauty of this beast.

Ultra thin case

Has anyone found an ultra thin case like a Calicase or Peel?
so far i can't find one. i loved the offical LG case for the nexus 5x. it was basically a cover for the back and had cutout on the bottom. all i want is to protect the back from scuffs. don't need a big case.
I'm holding out for the Ringke Slim to come out for the Pixel. It's been a perfect slim case for my old Nexus 5, Nexus 5X, and then the 6P.
I'll be using the Pleson TPU case in the mean time.
I ordered a pleson from amazon. It features some sort of dots on the back to prevent sticking air bubbles patterns. Get get on my s6edge with tpu cases today. We'll see how it holds up.
I've been looking for a thin case myself. I just put my Pixel into this case a few minutes ago:

I was skeptical because of the top and bottom which typically are nonexistent on these types of cases but I'm very happy.

I was looking at this case last night! Looks like the Ringke Slim, which I've had in the past and loved. Was it tight when putting it on? My only concern with these kinds of cases is scraping the edges of the phone when putting it on/taking it off.

I just popped it out and back in to see and no it didn't seem to be too tight. I don't believe this is a concern. The edges of the case are also rounded and have a soft matte type of finish.
Good case option from Amazon
If you need a quick case at a good price, try this one out. I ordered it in advance. It isn't that special but does the basics. I think it is slim, but not ultra slim. Check it out until more cases hit the market. Different colors and styles are available.
Search amazon for this name and brand. $7.99 shipped:
Google Pixel Case, DGtle [Shock Absorbent] Anti-Scratches TPU Gel Premium Slim Flexible Soft Bumper Rubber Protective Case Cover for Google Pixel (Smoke Black)
What I need is something like the custom live cases from Google, but not at $50 CAD. I have a Spigen thin fit on my 6P and I'm looking for something similar, but not clear.
what you guys are listing and talking about are thin cases, OP is looking for ultra thin cases, like the orzly flexslim series:
http://orzly.com/products/flexi-slim
I hoping they will come out with one for the pixel too, these are really just for scratch protection and will offer literally no drop protection, its similar to having a slim on your phone but more flexibility as you can just put it on and take it off easily.

i'm hoping to go with just a bumper case around the outer edge, because this phone is a beauty and i dont want to cover it up! that said, if i did get a full case and wanted to keep it relatively slim, i'm probably go with the diztronic matte slim case. i have one on my 5x, and it's been not only great at protecting on minor falls and bumps, but has held up extremely well over time. couldn't say enough about that case. looks like amazon currently has it available for purchase, but it's not shipping until 11/4.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that's actually exactly the case I have on right now. What I meant was a case with open top, open bottom and open buttons. But not clear.
There seems ot be some confusion on what an "Ultra thin" case actually is. let me help you guys better understand this, and why android people want huge clunky cases baffles me, but coming from a lifetime of androids, then switching to a 6s, and having a fantastic case experience... this is annoying.
This is an ultra thin case:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JH87ZSQ/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Notice the use of factory buttons, it does not cover the bottom of the device, yet still wraps the corners so if dropped is protected. so far the closest I have found on amazon for my Pixel is this case from this thread:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M3MQCG0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Which I ordered, and will arrive Thursday.
If there are plastic buttons that cover up the factor buttons that stick out of the case, it's safe to assume it's not an ultra thin case.
Just got that one by Maxboost and I can confirm its definitely the thinnest "case" out there right now. It's definitely a shell more than a case, and it's a bit slick, but overall I think I'm gonna stick with it. I used some fine steel wool to give it some grip, and it feels better IMO.

Bingo bingo. People don't seem to get it. I settled for the maxboost also but it looks like decent space between the camera and the case worrying me. Calicase and peel are the leaders IMHO in this thin case space. Just no love for the pixel.

I applied it, perfect (I thought) made the error of using a spray of water (usually helps with movement ) but I ended up with a halo just over the screen, good job there's a second, doesn't appear to be any or much glue on the screen part itself, with the screen on its not noticeable, it's possible there's some moisture left, I'll leave it for a day.
Touches are a little hard to register but that'll be moisture also, I'll see how it goes, if it stays like that then I'll do the second one dry.

After the day, what I initially wanted to happen, has happened and the water has receded to the side after a little pushing, no bubbles, no hair's / marks / dust.
Protector seems quite thick, this will live with a case with a lip i have no doubt about it. I have several cases I could try, the protector is really stuck down and with the right amount of leverage you could get it covered by the case.
At the moment i have the karbon from 1+ which i prefer to use as i don't drop my phone very often and it's very slim.
Will see how it goes.

The case(s) you'll probably have most trouble with are the Spigen ones.

I will check it out, my colleague has one. I have pretty much all of them now. Rhino would be the test to be honest, their cases are like rocks.

I have the Spigen Neo Hybrid on the phone and this protector still in it's box cos I don't trust it with that case, already have the Nillkin protector on though so it's safe for the moment.

Didn't see my colleague yesterday, there is a way you can usually lift the inward lip on a case to clear the TGSP, I've always managed to get them on, Tech 21 have some of the strongest lips around and yet i've alway managed it.
Haven't heard anyone talk about them for the +5, will have a look, I'll enquire too, they make great cases.
Will let you know what one my colleague has tomorrow and i'll try it out, if i get it on i'll let you know the method i used
Fingers crossed (have a spare lol)
That screen protector went on perfect but I have to say in sunlight it's completely crap, seems to have a matte like haze over it, makes viewing the screen quite hard, can turn up brightness but that'll impact battery, guess I'll be looking for another.
Shame as it does allow any case, tested with several hard to fit cases, seems tough as old boots and in lower light it's really good but in day light it just makes the screen look dull.

Best OnePlus 6T case?

Any good op6t cases?
I like my Supcase Unicorn Beetle. Everything is great about it, except the back is a finger print magnet.
I was eyeballing the rhinoshields, I've used them in the past and they are usually pretty great.

I use the Spigen Liquid Air Armor. I'm a fan of Spigen cases and have always found them to be high quality and moderately priced. This particular case has nice sized lip on the front to guard against damages from placing the phone face down on surfaces. The case is grippy in the hands and has a nice matte finish and diamond texture pattern on the back. The cutouts for the buttons and charging port are perfect and do not interfere with operations in any manner. It also doesn't add a tremendous amount of bulk on what is already a pretty sizable phone.
Spigen Liquid Air Armor for when I want to use a case. It's thin and the button feedback is the best. Spigen has, in my opinion, the best buttons on any case out there. Always clicky, always easy to find. Most of time I don't use a case because I use the camo skin from Dbrand. I may try out the bumper case from Rhino Shield. I tried it twice with for my Note 9 but I sent it back because the buttons were just too difficult to register a click compared to Spigen cases. I hope maybe this time around with the 6T Rhino Shield has improved the buttons. But it's still under pre order for now. Shipping "around end of December".

I use the official OnePlus 6t red silicon case it awesome and stuck to your hand lol
Using the Tudia Merge in black. It is a little slippery, but I'm ok with it.
KuGi OnePlus 6T case
I just ordered the "KuGi OnePlus 6T case" from Amazon. We'll see how it goes. I was between this one and the Spigen. I have almost always bought Spigen cases for my previous phones but figured I would try something different for once.

I'm thinking about getting that, been hoping they'll release it in black. But I need sticky so my phone doesn't slide all over the top of the dashboard in my car.
If you want to buy from OnePlus I suggest the sandstone and red silicone case. I have no complaints.

For the ones looking for a good cheap wallet case. I definitely wanted one with hard inner shell. Most manufacturers use the soft TPU Silicon inner Shell but I think it makes the phone look bulky and it also makes reaching the screen edges harder and sometimes connecting USB sticks harder or impossible.
That's why I prefer the hard inner case, they fit much more elegantly and slick. Disadvantage is the hard inner Shell trends to get brittle and break over time, but with these prices I would rather order again than use the Silicon version cases. Price is unbeatable!
I searched everywhere and finally I found what I was looking for :

They have 2 versions Black and brown, I ordered both and can only recommend!
i love the nylon case
Looks like Spigen is finally going to give us 6T users the Tough Armor treatment. But I hope they release more color options. I never liked the grey. Either all black or something with bright color.

Thank you for this. I had asked them on Twitter if any other cases were coming as I don't like the diamond look of the liquid air. They said December, but I can wait another month. Ordered.

How was their customer relations skills on Twitter? Because RhinoSheild sure needs to give their Twitter handler a vacation or something because they didn't seem too happy with my questions.

They're usually good, but slow this time around.
