Think I've got one of these in my collection (got so many now, one day I'll find one that I like)!
Fairly sure it's the same as the other cheap ones, most of them on Amazon appear to be identical with different prints on the box.
Still searching..
Obviously let us know what you think when it arrives.

I applied it, perfect (I thought) made the error of using a spray of water (usually helps with movement ) but I ended up with a halo just over the screen, good job there's a second, doesn't appear to be any or much glue on the screen part itself, with the screen on its not noticeable, it's possible there's some moisture left, I'll leave it for a day.
Touches are a little hard to register but that'll be moisture also, I'll see how it goes, if it stays like that then I'll do the second one dry.

After the day, what I initially wanted to happen, has happened and the water has receded to the side after a little pushing, no bubbles, no hair's / marks / dust.
Protector seems quite thick, this will live with a case with a lip i have no doubt about it. I have several cases I could try, the protector is really stuck down and with the right amount of leverage you could get it covered by the case.
At the moment i have the karbon from 1+ which i prefer to use as i don't drop my phone very often and it's very slim.
Will see how it goes.

Didn't see my colleague yesterday, there is a way you can usually lift the inward lip on a case to clear the TGSP, I've always managed to get them on, Tech 21 have some of the strongest lips around and yet i've alway managed it.
Haven't heard anyone talk about them for the +5, will have a look, I'll enquire too, they make great cases.
Will let you know what one my colleague has tomorrow and i'll try it out, if i get it on i'll let you know the method i used
Fingers crossed (have a spare lol)

That screen protector went on perfect but I have to say in sunlight it's completely crap, seems to have a matte like haze over it, makes viewing the screen quite hard, can turn up brightness but that'll impact battery, guess I'll be looking for another.
Shame as it does allow any case, tested with several hard to fit cases, seems tough as old boots and in lower light it's really good but in day light it just makes the screen look dull.

Received my glass screen protector today

I couldn't stop laughing when I opened the envelope from china. Looks a little thick. I hope its not Plexiglas or acrylic. Either way I suppose my phone is ready for anything with this protector. I'm just guessing they're overreaching a bit on the marketing pitch.
I'll update when I get it on.
where did you order this from? send me link plz! Did you also remove the shatter-proof film already attached to the Xperia?
I have installed a similar one but different brand it's quite good. Very clear and not fingerprint magnet.

I put on mine 5 minutes ago, I had an anti glare one before, and boy is this smoother than anything I've ever put on a phone... It has an effective oleophobic coating so you barely see any fingerprint, and touchscreen works fine, no issues at all.
It is actually pretty thick, but I guess it adds no more than 10 grams so I don't really care, I have a basic gel back cover and you can barely see it even if it's considerably smaller than the screen (talking about 1.5mm all around), and even though the holes for sensors and led are REALLY holes, you can literally fill them with water (I'm joking, but I will try and let you know... ).
Only problem with these protectors is you have to get it on on 1 max 2 moves, because replacing it is a real pain in the arse. Because is thicker and heavier and stiffer than any other screen protector, you can't simply put a piece of magic tape on the corner and peel it off, you have to do it with a nail or something like a guitar pick or it doesn't come off. Hence the difficulty if you happen to leave a freaking dust particle under it (usually at the center of the screen, where you see it EVERY SINGLE TIME you take a glance at your device).
Lastly, big bubbles are non existing, instead there are a million of infinitesimal bubbles that go away with hard work with a squeegee, or the producer claims they go away by themselves in the next few days.
Overall, if the bubbles really do go away in the next few days, I'll be really happy with my purchase.
Will keep you posted anyway.
P. S. If you're wondering, yeah, pen and pencils work just fine, I'd say better, since you don't have to worry about the screen (or screen protector) getting scratched...

I spent way too much on my Armorz glass screen protector, but it fits perfectly and is really thin. good quality and feels like iphone screen. sturdy and slick. some finger printing but wipes off with ease. no problems with adhering except for the corner where I kinda messed it up. not super noticeable but still upsetting given the price. -__-

Quick update: I ditched the glas.t protector and have gone back to a simple anti glare one, branded Nillkin this time.
I hate the foggy effect on whites, but I love having no fingerprints at all, not having to clean it every two seconds, and not having to deal with several points where the micro bubbles never went away.
Furthermore, I found a slice on the glass protector that seems to have the coating worn off (it came that way, I just realised it was there the day after I put it on), and that slice is prone to be the dirtiest on the whole surface.
I tried to wash it with soap, dish soap, alcohol, nothing works.
I took it off and put it on so many times (after the first time there were always one or two micro dust particles that managed to get under there, and you often you only see them in full sunlight) that the lower right corner would bend a little so that it didn't stick as well as before.
Add to that the WEIGHT of the thing (about 45 grams) and the added .4mm (seems nothing, but they're A LOT on a 6.5mm thin device), I eventually took it off and replaced it and will stay with my plain screen protectors for the entire device life.

Yeah after just a few hours I decided to remove the glass protector. It just doesn't stick to the corners and edges properly. And the screen feels a bit unresponsive. I just replaced it with a regular matte protector I have as a backup and it feels so much better. Sigh. I wasted 50 bucks in that glass protector. Sometimes I feel like I made a bad decision getting the XZU having to think of all this protection crap. I never ever needed to put anything on my other devices before and those are still looking fine.

Official Samsung S8+ Screen Protector Review

Well I have been struggling to find a decent screen protector untill now.
Online there were alot of terrible reviews on most protectors due to the protectors not sticking. They lift after a few days, reduce the touch sensitivity. The good ones have a sort of dot matrix you can see when the screen is tilted certain ways. So I thought I'd order the genuine Samsung ones I thought hey who better than the manufacture.
I wasn't holding up much hope but I was pleasantly surprised. It isn't a glass protector and it isn't quite the film protectors. It's a little thicker the clarity is crystal clear and the feel is nice. It works with certain cases but not huge bulky ones. I tend to use a case for work and I have a skin on the rear of the phone to stop scratches and a screen protector on the front. Touch wood I haven't broken a phone yet. I want it looking nice and shiny after a year so not to bothered hiding it with a skin.
I will update this review in 7 days after using it in my day to day life. The protector has adhesive all over and is easy to fit as the outer protector has two alignment tabs to hold and a white line the matches perfectly to the bottom and top edges of where the screen starts so you can align perfectly.
I purchased mine in the UK for £14.99 you get 2 in the packaging which is pretty substanical so they shouldn't loss there shape when posting either.
Feel free to ask any questions
Happy reading and happy purchasing.
If you have this protector please write how your experience with it has been so far.
Just ordered these too as I found a very faint scratch on my screen.
Let me know how you get on mate.

Please keep us posted on this thanks.
5 days later so far so good the screen protector also works with a tech 21 clear impact case! It hasn't lifted as of yet. Tiny bit of dust being collected by the very edges ever so slight other than that it's perfect.
I'm also wondering how it's doing. Does the protector cover right up to the edge where it meets with the medal? How's it feel...like olephobic coating and feeling smooth...not rubbery.
It is holding up perfect for my usage one issue which I caused I nicked the bottom of the protector which has caused it to tear ever so slightly my fault for taking it out of a case. It feels perfect for me you can tell it isn't the glass but it isn't a bad feel.
The dust collecting on the edges is seriously getting on my nerves. The ocd in me wants to rip the protector off and the other part of me can't stand the small faint marks I have on the screen.
Thank you thumbs up

Make sure u trim the corners a little first before applying or it'll lift at some point on the corners I'd ur not perfectly straight with ur application. I took about 1-2mm off mine by following the contours of the corners. It's perfect now.
Despite Spigen advertising to apply it with the case on and that its "case friendly"... Its not perfect. By trimming it slightly before application you'll avoid it lifting.

Agree I had mine since day one and it's perfect with every single case. And I test a few glass screen protectors without luck. As much as I like glass this oficial screen protector seems like a protector made by spigen because of his quality.
Anyone uses a bumper/case compatible with this screen protection ?

Are they any good screen protectors out there?

I've been reading all the threads in the forum after I brought my OP 5 yesterday (supposed to arrive to me in the next 2 weeks) and I cant find any solid recommendation.
There aren't any brands making screen protectors to our devices and even less reviews.
-I saw people saying to stay away from the original screen protector made by Oneplus due to the few millimeter lost cause by it.
-I looked on the Orzly screen protector and it looked quiet well but after searching the web I saw multitude negative reviews due lack of adhesiv, dot metrix and rainbows showing up on the screen. but some other who claims the protector is completely fine
In conclusion: In the Glass screen protectors section, there is no good product that will be fine with guarantee ?
If so, there is any other kind of screen protector (not glass one's) such as Skinomi or IQ Shield that are recommended?
I have to order any kind of screen protector as soon as possible before my device will arrive.
thanks for your professional support !
Every single option, glass or TPU, sucks. The best option is the non-glass protector that ships applied to the phone. Baby that one as long as you can.

Still the best, even covered in 2" of lint lol
As much as the screen protectors suck, the Orzly is stil the best of the bunch. I have it installed with no rainbow effect in the middle. Again, I think this is a case of people who have the issues are the ones you see. It depends on how you install it I guess. I know a few others who have also installed it without the rainbow, but I know people who have installed it and have had the rainbow. At least it is a fully screen protector, that doesnt cut off a millimeter of the screen basically, and at least they aren't a company that blames the user for obvious issues with their TGSP *cough* Oneplus *cough*
Take it from someone who has been through 5+ different screen protectors... About the only one that was semi worth a damn was Orzly. You run into ones that don't fill the entire screen and leave the edges exposed, don't stick, cover the front camera or ones that just flat out don't end up sticking. I wish I didn't end up taking off the one that the OP5 came shipped with but oh well lesson learned. As I said as of right now the only semi decent one is Orzly but even that one I had issues with the glue towards the edges peeling so the screen wouldn't respond because the protector was coming off the screen a little. Still though - Orzly or Manufacturer screen that was originally on the one are your best options at this point.
I really like the IQ branded film protector. I've had no problems with it and I only really notice it when I swipe along the edges and feel the film.

I'm using the clear one. It's definitely not as smooth as glass but it's smooth enough. It's more smooth than a glass screen without a oleophobic coating. Fingerprint residue is minimal. The only case I have is the sandstone one from OnePlus and I have no problems with it.

Using the clear IQ protector here too. So far it's the best I've found. I've used the official TGSP, Orzly TGSP, and a couple other cheaper TGSPs. The wet application film screen protectors are the way to go for this phone it seems. Helps a lot with finger prints and I haven't had any issues with it not being slick enough.
think ill just go nude and use a thick case lol. haven't had any scratches on my s8+ which also has gorilla glass 5.

I went and removed the factory installed protector, it was a bad idea. Now I have small hairline scratches on the bottom right corner. I've now ordered a tempered glass in Amazon to hide the scratches.
The one that came with the phone is fantastic imo. I haven't enjoyed tgsp since my nexus 6p because of the 2.5D curved glass craze, no tgsp fits any phone good anymore. Axon, Samsung (ROFL, you thought OUR screen was bad?) , I haven't looked at the screen protectors for the G6, but the screen doesn't appear to be 2.5d so that's a step in the right direction..
When my stock screen protector gets unusable, I'll buy the 30$ crash guard from rhinosheidl ?????? Just to see if the hype is real...
Unless someone already has photos of it....

No idea whatsoever, my stock screen protector from oneplus is still in fantastic shape, so I don't imagine ordering four a couple more months at least.
The ones for the oneplus 3 are 13 dollars on amazon, and ship with prime in the US.. So I imagine in a few weeks the price will become more better.
I've recently seen this on the taobao site. GOR branded TSP. I've used their flat ones on other phones and am quite satisfied with the performance. They have 2 versions, one with the black border, one with a edge sealant sort of thing. I'm planning to get the sealant version next month since my option to add items for cheap shipping is exhausted for July....
If anyone's in China or has bought one, some feedback would be appreciated.

Puregear Screen Protector - Fits like a glove

First time for me to use a screen protector. I've used the factory ones on my previous OP devices (6T, 6, 5T, 3). The 6T screen protector appears to be utter crap. After one month of normal usage it not only developed a few small bubbles but also a nice tear in it right over the keyboard making it a downright nuance to use. I could deal with the bubbles but the tear in it was the catalyst to get rid of it. Iit was like a zit and was rough to run your finger over while using keyboard. No bueno.
So I dug around a few threads didn't see much success. Poor fitment. Poor seller. Rainbow effects. etc. etc. etc.
Decided to make a trip to my local T-Mobile store. Bought the Puregear unit they had in stock. It's a bit pricey $39.99+tax but fits like a glove. Screen looks nice. The stock case fits over it without anything obvious protruding.
Other than cost cannot complain. Weird it's not listed on Puregear's website...
EDIT: Edited as I got a second camera to take the photos of it on the OnePlus 6T.
So is it slightly wider than the screen? Cause it looks very similar to the Nillkin which is only 10 bucks.
I think it lines up well with the screen. For some reason the last photo I put up isn't showing so I"ll throw it here.
Upon further inspection, there may be a faint rainbow effect actually on the edges.

So it's the same as the Nillkin. I will stay with my 10 dollar protector.

The puregear doesn't do it that badly and not near the top. It's on the sides near the middle and minimal at best.

The top and bottom of the Nillkin are perfect it's just the sides that are not forgiving it skewed to one side. If you align it as close to perfect you will be happy with it.

You win some you lose some. Opted to pay for easy return and easy testing. I use the phone enough that I didn't want to wait thanks to the stock one getting messed up badly.
Now, I need to find one for the OnePlus 6 (not the 6T). My wife wants one for her device. Any recommendations on that front?

Don't have a 6 but Nillkin I think makes one for the 6 too.
By the way if you are happy with yours that's all that matters. I was real close on buying the Puregear. If the Nillkin did not work out I would of bought it too.
I went with the official op6t tempered glass protector. Works great perfect fit.

Thanks a lot it seems like the best choice after the PureGear one
I just picked up a Puregrear today and I have to say I'm a little disappointed. The install was fine and adheres smoothly without any bubbles. But it's slightly too narrow. It fits well on the top and bottom but on both sides there is a sliver of visible screen that is not covered by the glass. It's not all that noticeable if looking directly dead on, but if the phone is even slightly angled you see thick line across the screen and it's a little annoying.

Exactly what I said. It's no different than dozens of protectors on Amazon for under $10 in that regard. Totally not worth it

I also just applied a Puregear and have a small strip on the right side of the screen that isn't covered, but on the left side it lined up. I had also ordered and returned the XtremeGuard TGSP because it didn't cover the entire screen, and the Puregear does significantly better despite not quite covering everything.
Overall, I really like the look and feel of the glass compared the preapplied protector, and I don't notice the uncovered part unless I look for it. I'll keep it for now, but if I needed a new protector I'd probably try the official OP glass or whatever else is performing well for other folks here.
FWIW, I was able to use a coupon code to get a $10 discount when I ordered it from their website, so at least I didn't pay full price.

1st Screen and phone protector combo

Picked up the McClaren 5g version from T-Mobile yesterday, and I'm in love with the phone, throughout. Beautiful design, hardware, software. Everything.
I wanted a protective case however did not want to cover the beautiful back.
I figure the combo is cheap enough that I can get something else if this doesn't fit my needs.
Anyone else tried either of the two products?

What combo are you referring to? (No link or images provided.)
RhinoShield has the Crash Guard bumper & a clear skin for the backside (screen protector also available).
This combo definitely fits what you're looking for.
As with all of the Crash Guard bumpers, it adds quite a bit of an increase to the overall width of the phone. If that isn't a factor one way or the other, I'd say you need to look no further.
I'm sure there's some aluminum bumpers available from eBay & the like, but, they offer little to no protection & likely have an even more uncomfortable grip vs the included case or, the RhinoShield Bumper.

THX for posting the pix. :good:
There's several different mfgs with this design to be found on Amazon/e-Bay/Ali Express, etc......
I like the idea of clear cases in general, but, most seem to have some nagging traits....
The rainbow effect comes to mind right off the bat, as well as being a fingerprint magnet.
Most don't wear well after a few weeks of use, with scuffs/scratches.
A matte clear case may negate most of the above, but, likely will obscure the true appearance of the decorative backside.
I've seen some all-glass cases, encasing the entire phone, front & back, might not be a bad way to go.

I've had luck with uag clear cases, however, as you know they aren't truly 100% transparent and clear due to their honey comb pattern design.
That all glass case is a pretty interesting design, never seen it before. I wouldn't imagine it would look as good after 3,4 drops compared to a plastic /poly case.
I'm definitely not opposed to trying a different combo if this one doesn't work, as it was less than 20 dollars. I did look into the dome whitestone glass sp, however I'm opposed to applying an actual adhesive to my screen.
Any other decent glass sp that doesn't require adhesive?
Here's the case. After closely examining the edges of the phone and case, I am not sure this screen protector will be compatible as I will interfere at edges and pull up.
The screen protector and case fit perfectly. A bit different installation method then what I'm usually used to, but got it perfect on the second try. Very pleased.

Here is the screen protector

Here is the install video
Here is pic trying to show the case edge and sp slight separation. A bit hard to see, but at $8 for 3 sp, I'm surprised by the quality of the sp.
Update.. I've been using the 7t pro mclaren case with the sp and fits flawlessly

Your case isn't even compatible with the phone. You are covering the laser autofocus area on the back. The 7 Pro cases don't have the necessary cutout. You need a 7T Pro case.
I know this was already addressed in a different thread. No longer using that case. Now using the one that came with the mclaren.

I will get my OP7T Pro in two weeks and I'm going to buy exactly this combination. I am curious if everything fits.

It fits nicely like it is made for each other. it has maybe 1mm gap between the glass protector and case.
