[Need help] How to port rom from 7 Pro to 7T Pro - OnePlus 7T Pro (Regular & McLaren) Q & A

I know our device doesn't have twrp yet but we can flash GSI images and we can also manually flash them like this and I was wondering, maybe someone here with some experience know what files I need to change, edit and move to beable to port another rom to this device
I was hoping to port Havoc Os 3.0 from the OnePlus 7 Pro to this device!

I suppose this maybe?
https://github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/wiki/How-to-build-a-GSI?
But you use havoc's sources.
As Omni rom does, you probably should use proper kernel sources too
Other than that, no idea honestly

Help to port LineageOS Rom to ULEFONE S8 PRO (MT6737M)

I'm trying to port LineageOS 14.1 to my S8 Pro, but no success; I tried using the lineage rom for Moto E4 with the same cpu (MT6737M) as port rom, but the only result I get is bootloop; I tried other roms too (RR for Homtom ht17 pro and dotOS for moto e4) with the same result;
I tried with these 3 guides:

Nope, I used the stock boot.img (if I use other than stock it will bootloop), the phone didn't bootloped, but it didn't completed the first boot, I need to use catlog to discover what's the problem now, so the phone half-booted
But I think I'll stop doing this, it's giving me headache
Thread closed per OP request.

Debug a Ported Custom Rom v8.0.0 (Qualcomm MSM 8937)

Can someone please help me debug a custom rom I made for Asus Zenfone 3 Laser, ported from Xiaomi Redmi 3s. BOTH IS OREO 8.0.0, and the same chipset of SNAPDRAGON 430.
What I did was port the boot.img, it booted up, but wifi, bluetooth, navigation keys, fingerprint, camera, sounds, and hotspot won't work. I've tried porting the system files from the stock to port rom and edit the update-script, also tried these methods:

I'm at a loss I don't know what to do, maybe someone here at xda forums can help me with my problem. My devices doesn't have any support for a custom rom even a device tree.

I don't have this device myself but, I had performed a quick search and located the following (what looks like) the thread for this specific firmware. That thread is there for member Support and Guidance.

Good Luck!

Unless asked to do so, PLEASE don't PM me regarding support. Sent using The ClaRetoX Forum App on my Apple Macintosh.

[Q] OP 7 Pro | OP 7T Pro - Unified custom ROMs

Is there likely to be cross-compatible custom ROMs/ development for the OP 7 Pro & the 7T Pro?
I think the kernel sources are unified in OOS, so maybe.
I'm not sure though, would love to see this.

OP7 Pro seems to have good custom ROM/ dev support - it would be good to see this ported across to the OP7T Pro if at all possible, as well as some fresh custom ROMs for the newer device.

whats the procedure i have unlocked bootloader
was able to flash Android 12 Gsi successfully.. But couldn't Boot system.
Only gsi arm64 Android 12 worked though.
You can check any instructions on Google because Gsi has one way for all devices. but it's on your own risk.
Sorry for being off topic but what's the difference between the custom roms made specifcally for the device and the gsi roms?

1> Custom ROMs are more Optimized for the devices they are published for. Also, they usually have more features and upgradations while GSI (Generic system Image) is better than plain simple vanilla AOSP (Android Open Source Project) in most cases and are supposed to have a higher chance of adapting for installation on any supportive (ARM architechture etc.) device.
2> Custom ROMs are usually larger in size (1Gb/2gb etc. ) while GSIs are usually smaller in size
( 500Mb/700Mb etc.)

OctaviOS GSI (GSI Arm64-ab) booted on my Redmi note 10 but Lineage 18.1 is way better as per my opinion, you have to flash Gapps though.
P.S.- I'm still waiting for some more vanilla ROMs OR GSIs to be made for this device butfrom what I know the developer communities seem to be more in favor of making Rom/Gsi (OR Ports) for the PRO versions of Redmi Note series directly, so some of the lower devices not getting enough attention.
