Fingerprint sensor outline without AOD? - Samsung Galaxy S10 Themes, Apps, and Mods

Hi all,
Is it possible to have the fingerprint sensor outline on lockscreen of Samsung S10 without using AOD at all?
there is an option to show fingerprint outline when AOD is enabled, and when we tap the screen in the settings. But I couldn't find any options that would enable us to just see the fingerprint sensor without tapping or without using AOD.
Thanks!

Does anyone have any opinion?

If you have set up a fingerprint, an icon will be displayed on the lock screen anyway when aod is switched off...

No, for me it doesnt show the icon.
It only shows the icon if I double tap the screen or if I turn AOD on. Does your phone show the screenshot you attached at all times?

But you turned on your screen (or clicked on the power button). In this case yes, when you turn on the screen it shows the fingerprint sensor. My question is how can we make it so that the fingerprint sensor is shown permanently (all the time, even when the screen is not on), but without having AOD turned on.

I think that is not possible...

I have a option for you - put a fingerprint sensor sticker on your phone screen
But for real, you can't show fingerprint sensor without AOD. AOD = always on display - that's the whole point of it. How would you think one shows something on the screen without turning it on? It's like you want to see without opening your eyes...
You can turn on AOD, let it show fingerprint sensor and hide clock widget. But still it's pretty power hungry. Tap to AOD works best.

Thank you for your reply.
This is exactly what I am looking for: having fingerprint sensor AOD without having clock widget. Can you please tell me how I can hide the clock widget?
Also by "Tap to AOD", do you mean tap to turn on the screen, right?

I see that option to hide clock from AOD screen is gone from settings on Android 10. In 9 there was an option. Well it's a bit tricky to turn off (or more like hide) clock widget now but it is doable. I manged to do that myself but i don't remember what app i used. It was one of 4 apps: aodNotify/Nice Lock/Arc Lightning/Holey Light. I was playing around with punch hole notifications. In one of these apps there is a option to hide AOD clock - it really overlaps custom AOD picture over clock, so it doesn't turn off the clock, more like just hides it.
If you really want to hide clock on AOD then try these apps and play around. I don't have them installed anymore, so i can't look what app had this setting. I didn't like how punch hole notifications ate my phones battery, so i uninstalled those. You of course don't have to turn notifications on, you should have option to just hide AOD clock from there.
One more option comes to my mind. Maybe you can make "AOD clock" widget, what is just pure black wallpaper...

I mean tap to show AOD screen. It just doesn't eat your phone battery so much.
Tap to turn screen on is more like tap to wake option.
Edit: If i remember correctly then it was aodNotify app, what had option to hide AOD clock. But to be sure, you have to check yourself.

m apposite of you, i actually got rid of the fingerscanner logo because i dont want my phone screen be burnt with permanently using the pixel over that portion of my screen..
i suggest you not to do that even if you find the way how to do it.

There is an option to turn on AOD for 10 secs when you single tap the screen (not double tap to wake)
I use it and find it very useful

settings -> biometrics and security -> fingerprints -> show icon when screen is off -> tap to show

[REQ][MOD] Remove wireless charging pop-up notification

There is a pop-up that is displayed whenever the S4 is placed on a wireless charger. It is annoying and the phone is unusable during the few seconds it is displayed (I can't even take a screen shot). The notification reads:
You have placed the device within range. Now charging Wirelessly...

I would love to have a mod to disable this notification.
I would love a way to stop the pop up from coming up as well.

Confirmed it works! Just install the "Installer.apk" and then install NottachXposed.apk. Go to the Installer.apk app then under modules, check (don't leave it unchecked) the NottachXposed.apk. Then go to NottachXposed.apk and there should be a toggle for wireless charging notification.
It turned off the pop-up notification but the sound and screen still turns on. Not as bothersome if I silence the phone at night.

Anyone have a solution now?
The whole point of this system was to sit on my nightstand, so I don't have to fiddle with it in the dark. The beeps and screen constantly popping on and off all night is incredibly annoying. Putting the phone on silent or Air-Plane does not stop the phone from lighting up. It does appear that the phone is lighting up to indicate 100%, and then disconnecting and re-connecting around 98%. I understand why the phone does this, but have no idea why the alerts are needed every 2 minutes.
I guess not enough people are using Qi charging to complain yet.

Theres an option in wanam to disable the wireless charging dialog, I dont know if it takes care of the sound too tho.
Hit thanks if I helped you out. Doing a little bit of reading goes a long way. Sent via tapatalk.
As a new GS4 user, I'll have to say this is my one disappointment. I used inductive charging with my Palm Pre and it worked great. I was hoping that I'd have the same experience with the Qi charging system but now I get woken up between 2 and 3 am each night by the phone cycling the charge. I end up sliding it off the Qi pad so it stops the charging for the night. With the 4.3 update and blocking mode I should be able to turn off notifications but I'll have to test the exceptions so I can still get my emergency texts from our monitoring systems at work. No matter if the notification sound is turned off, the screen will still turn on and off. I'll agree, as the Qi chargers become more popular it may change the way the developers indicate charging but it would have been nice if they would have thought of it from the start.

May be bumping an ancient thread here, but if anyone else comes a-looking like I did, the Wanam Exposed has an option under the Lockscreen to disable the screen from turning on when AC/USB is unplugged that solves this annoyance. If you want to go a step further and make it completely stealthy, rename the charger_connection.ogg in Android/system/media/UI so you don't hear the beeping every 15-20 seconds either.

Wow, thanks for this post! My wireless charging is almost now 100% flawless.
The mod linked at the beginning of this thread, Nottach Xposed, also has the mod to disable the screen from constantly turning on and off, under Framework, uncheck "turn on screen when unplugging from AC/usb". Works sweet.
I usually always have my phone on vibrate, and even with the mods in the OP, AC/USB unplug notification off and renamed my Android/system/media/AUDIO/UI/charger_connection.ogg to charger_connection.ogg.bad my phone still constantly vibrates throughout the night
Any solution to disable the vibrate notification of charging/unplugged??? If I can do this my wireless charging will be 100% flawless for me!
EDIT: http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.eldarerathis.xposedmodule.wirelesschargingxposed works to disable the vibrate notification. Nevermind, when I drop it on the charger it doesn't initially vibrate, but once it reaches 100% then constantly cycles on and off it vibrates throughout the entire night

Hey guy i found out the reason why the notification keeps popping up,
You must see the output amperage. Wireless chargers should be atleast
1.5 output. If lower the notification keeps popping up. Lock screen
On your s4 then put it on the charging pad. Do not use .5 or 1amp.
It will just get hot. I fixed my sister's phone issue just by changing the
Wall charger. Did not need to install or root anything. Hope this helps.
Most chargers say need higher than 1amp for wireless charging.
Thanks guys.

Usually the two are the same, unless you have your phone to stay unlocked in a trust zone? Or some kind of timer? Personally I don't trust any zone. When my display turns off, my display is always locked.

Until you have root, double tapping to turn the screen off with Nova will just dim the screen for 30 seconds to a minute until it locks the screen, then the always on display will kick in and you can unlock with fingerprint normally. If you want to turn the screen back on before that happens, if you tap the screen you'll notice the navigation bar comes up, just tap the home button and you'll be back in. Once you have root, it can lock the screen directly and you won't have a problem.

It looks like it turns off the screen. It's basically a work around for them. Like I said if you touch the screen during that time it's not actually off. It will pop up the navigation buttons. Maybe you want to say it's turning off the screen and not locking it, that's fine. To me it's not actually turning off the screen, just turning off the backlight until the phone actually locks.

I'm sorry, you're wrong. You aren't looking at the choices. It instantly locks the screen if that's what you want.
It does NOT "time out" if you don't choose that option.
Choose the "device admin" option. But the fingerprint sensor won't unlock it the next time you turn on the screen (like when you reboot the phone, the fingerprint sensor doesn't work first time when you turn on the display.) Still, it INSTANTLY turns off and locks your display. It says so right there in the double tap options.
Or you can choose the "timeout" option, which is what you are describing.

Okay it looks like I made the wrong selection when enabling the double tap gesture - I enabled the admin mode, but I think I really want the time out mode to allow my fingerprint unlock to work correctly. It's there any way to reset Nova so that I get the selection toast screen again to choose? Or do u need to clear data for Nova...

Yes, I was describing the Timeout option because I assumed that's the best option for people who want to use their fingerprint to unlock the phone again. Didn't realize people might be using the Device Admin mode because it's just annoying. With root it will allow you to instantly timeout the phone bringing up the AOD immediately and allow for fingerprint unlock without just having a plain black screen for about a minute before the phone actually locks. That's all I was saying.

Agree with you. Missed the option with root on my previous V10. I don't like Device Admin & Timeout options. With current unrooted V30+, I always double tap on status bar to lock screen immediately.
There's an option in greenify to turn off screen by long press on home button, which works pretty well.
Without any further settings, you can always double tap the status bar in Nova (or any other app for that matter, not just on the home screen) to turn off the screen. That's what I do all the time.

Interesting. I didn't know about that option. Yeah, that works.
But until now with this phone I've not messed with the double tap options. To me (with other phones) it was just as easy or easier to tap the power button (on the side) once than to double tap the screen.
This is yuge. Thanks! Status bar double tap FTW.
I really don't want to be picking up the phone to press the power button on the back to lock it every time.
Glad to see that other people know about the double tap on status bar trick! It's made my life a lot easier.

Hi,
Tested again. We have few vibration during 5s ONLY if the watch screen is in "Active Mode" (displaying second hand and high screen res). If watch is in normal dim mode (ie low res mod an no second, low power mode) we have not few vibe. It seem also the vibe is only at a refresh screen only at full minute. If we start a timer for 20s we never have the vibe, it happen only when you unlock and activate the screen, even 10min after the timer end

Defaut stock timer use also the watch active mode and keep the mode actif but it still works after cover the screen to enter in passive mode
Version 2.0
Changes:
- Added stopwatch
- Changed icon
- Changed play / pause button
- Added vibration on button presses
Features:
- Long click on the name - switching the timer / stopwatch
- Vibration last 5 seconds, and also when 1 minute remains in the timer
- Vibration at the beginning of the first five minutes in a stopwatch
- Auto transition to the "Do not block the screen" mode after starting the timer / stopwatch and back after the timer / stopwatch is stopped. In this mode, the backlight turns off, but the screen remains active, even after switching to the watchface or another screen.
- Do not cover the screen with your palm when the timer is running, it may not work in the background

LG V30 always on display and KnockON features in low light don't work

Hello,
I'm experiencing a weird problem with my LG V30 H930 and I was wondering what could be the solution, if anyone has ever experienced that as well?
Yesterday I received a new LG V30 phone and that day I found something very disturbing. The "always on display" function does not work when it's too dark in the environment or when I cover the light sensor. This also results in:
- "double tap to wake" function does not work when it is too dark
- holding finger against the screen results in turning off display instead of entering options for changing wallpaper, adding widgets and settings. Additionally when I turn off the screen in this way, I need to press the button on the back of the phone twice, which is also a fingerprint reader and at the right time. If I do it too slowly, i.e. press the button once, wait a bit and then the second time, the screen will not turn on. I have to press it twice and relatively quickly
All of this does not happen when it is bright in the environment.
The phone's never been rooted, there is no custom firmware loaded on it, I've tried many times going back to factory settings.

Why are you covering the light sensor if you want the AOD on?
You are basically replicating a flip case cover or flipping a phone over on the desk. Of course the AOD will turn off under those circumstances. There's nothing wrong with your phone.
With your display on, just quickly press your finger on the fingerprint sensor to display lock the phone and you will see AOD. Well you also have need the "power key instantly locks" option turned on. But I assume you have that on already.
Of course the AOD works in a dark environment. But in this instance, you are covering the light sensor -- which tells the phone you must have it in a flip cover case or flipped over. When you open the case or flip the phone back on, the AOD comes back on. In your fake way, you must be doing something wrong.
Stop covering the light sensor.

I understand your logic, but it is a very weird feature then, not to be able to change wallpaper directly from the home screen, when it is dark in the room or not to be able to turn on the phone double-tapping the screen, which is turned off. Is it perfectly normal as well?

You can change wallpaper and double tap the screen, but go to AOD mode in a NORMAL way. I told you how. Just turn off the display with the fingerprint sensor. AOD. Double tap, display back on.

fully disable touchscreen when screen off s21?

Hi everyone,
sorry if this has been answered, I tried to search. Since the last samsung update my phone is constantly turning on the torch or calling 911 when its in my pocket. I've tried everything and just cant seem to stop this stupidity!
Is there a way to fully disable touchscreen when the screen is off? When you press the powerbutton and screen wakes up the touch starts again? I dont care about waking the screen up with the fingerprint!
thanks
You should have these settings, they use to be there with Pie on Samsung's.

Turning the display away from your skin and using a case with slightly raised display guards helps a lot. Turning on Accidental touch protection stops it most times.

I have all those setup, I have double tap to wake all off also.
I just installed Touch Blocker but it doesnt behave as I would expect. The touch is still active when on lockscreen/off and then blocks once you unlock it. so there is still a chance could butt dial 911.. hmm

I use the Zizo Bolt case, it provides excellent protection, a two layer system with an outer polycarbonate shell. Never comes apart in a multi impact drop. It has slightly raises display guards that help reduce false touches when using and in pocket. I have 2 N10+'s and use One Handed Operation plus as well as Edge Panels, it doesn't interfere with their use very much.
I don't use lock screen, double tap on/off. If you face it away from your skin and then be careful not to touch the screen when placing it in your pocket it works well. BDU pant button (unbuttoned) cargo pockets are great for these phones. Most times Accidental Lock Protection stops it. The other thing you can do is set the display timeout to a lower value; less time to do damage. However mine are still set to 10 minutes. I habitually double tap it all the time.
Lol, a couple times I pulled it out and saw menus I never saw before. I explore settings etc a lot too. So many buried submenus
911? I'm more afraid of changing a vital setting.
Emergency call is package blocked on my devices as well.

Not exactly what you are asking BUT just got a S21 two weeks ago and pocket dialed police twice - they called first but still= bad.
Tried to get energency tab off lockscreen with Samsung Remote Tutor [ and Samsung tech ] - not possible .
NOW however I have fingerprint enabled .
When phone is in my pocket in 'standby black screen mode' 'screen off'
IF it is jostled around - it goes to the
FINGERPRINT SCREEN -
and can not call 911 .
And I get messages sometimes that screen was temporarily disabled due to random touches or something like that but it turns back on right away.
SO - the fingerprint reader screen acts as a buffer where the 'emergency call ' button is NOT exposed in my pocket .
Questions ? I was very annoyed with this the first day and second day I got the phone .
