New to me, not even sure what you're talking about but sounds intriguing. I'm using Wireguard, but just via basic apk install. Eager to hear more about this.

Wireguard can operate in two modes.
Kernel Level (root & supported kernel)
Userspace (non-root)
Kernel mode is better
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/wireguard-rom-integration-t3711635
I use elementalx custom kernel on my Pixel2 & 3 which has wireguard support. Not sure, but I think WETA kernel for tab s6 has wireguard support?

The (AnyKernel2) flashable zip will flash kernel as well as /system/lib/modules. If you want to go back you should backup modules as well
Notice: I don't own a V20, thus I can't guarantee it will be a sane and bug-free kernel for V20 users.

Questions
Q: Will this work on newer bootloaders?
A: It should. The kernel is based on the most recent of LG sources.
Q: What control app do you suggest using?
A: I suggest using SmartPack, or EX Kernel Manager.
Q: I have US996, what version do I use?
A: If you unlocked officially through LG then use "US996", otherwise use "US996Santa".
Q: Where can I donate? I want to donate!!
A: I don't accept donations because of two reasons. One: I don't really need it. Two: I like the idea of this being totally free, it adds to the enjoyability of the kernel.
Q: I'm having some problems with kernel not working or booting?
A: If you are on an older bootloader then that is likely why. My kernel works on new firmware, not exactly sure how far back the compatibility goes.
Q: I flashed this zip in recovery, but it didn't seem to work, I'm still on my old kernel. What can I do?
A: With AnyKernel you shouldn't need to re-flash ROOT after flashing kernel (if already installed, if not, do it before flashing kernel). SuperSu has been known to revert the kernel install if you do so.
Q: OK so I just rooted my phone and installed this, and OMGOSH! so excited, now what do I do - do I tweake-dy freak out huh huh? How do I do it??
A: Put simply, don't do anything. I don't know how things where in the past, but now you don't need to do anything. Not with this kernel anyhow. Such thing are better discussed in a separate thread anyway.
You say you added TCP and schedulers. Mine are all still the same basic on my h918

Hey there
It's enjoyable for me too to be doing this, at least for now Learning new stuff, and I can use the result for my G5 as well :good:
You must choose your settings with Kernel Adiutor or similar program. The defaults are the same as stock I believe.
Seems to work OK on US996, seems to be running a little warm, but that could be from installing Color Control and aduiator in addition to some updates as soon as it booted. I'm letting it sit now and see how it runs normally.
Color Control is working great.
Got 151170 in Antutu
Oh, and it does have static on boot on the US996 non UCL.
Hey! Does this work on H918, on software version 10q? I have root and TWRP on it but I've heard that because of the anti-rollback thing the older kernel's won't work
One of his sources shows the 10q Kernel, I only show a version number on my us996, but it shows 3.18.31

Hey
I don't benchmark, is that a good score?
I have received report about that problem with static on US996.
I must have misunderstood. So users with Unlocked version still use the engineering aboot ?
If so it's an easy fix.
@askermk2000 unlocked US996 can use either root method (unlock bin from LG or DirtyCow / eng. aboot).
I am guessing most use the eng. aboot since LG makes you "sign" a click through that says your warranty is void.
@MysteriousAnon ARB has nothing to do with the kernel (boot image). However, most newer kernels won't boot on older firmware, and vice-versa, older kernels won't boot on newer firmware. Nonetheless, if you DO boot a newer kernel on older firmware, it doesn't increment ARB. ARB is incremented by the bootloader...
EDIT: tagged the wrong person. Sorry...

@askermk2000 I am not sure to be honest, I don't know about aboot lol, I unlocked using the LG tool.

Ok then, you did as I expected, and in theory (that I've gathered) the US996 non UCL should be the one for you. But since you get static with that, then that can only mean one thing: The engineering US996 bootloader, and production bootloader is the same with regards to how it initializes the LCD panel.
Well then, I guess I only need to support one US996 model.
How is the ucl version working for you; all right?

I think so, that way you will not have static boot.
Next release I'll make it so that both version's won't have static boot.
The only difference between them is static fix (both will have next time) and changes to cmdline, which is not necessary if you simply have officially unlocked US996.

The only way to have root on 10q is to have rooted an 10j or below, then update to 10q with only the correct partitions so you don't lose root. If you are on full blown 10q out of the box or updated a stock phone to it, then there is no root for it.

The UCL kernel did not fix my static boot.
Exactly how do you flash this. I'm running NATF Megarom V20 v4.0 ATT on h910. Software version H91010l? Thanks. I would love to not have the static at boot. Just flash in TWRP and would I then flash SuperSU again/ ?
I flashed the UCL version and the static is gone.
Awesome!
PS. I'm using the eng. aboot. and 10k stock firmware

Ah yes, makes sense.
Probably no point in maintaining two versions. Unless there's been some very confusing misunderstanding - Both US996 versions should use the *static fix*. Good! Makes it easier to maintain this thread :good:

[KERNEL] [8.1] Neutron Kernel for Nexus 5

Hi, all XDA members, I built a light-weight kernel for our little monster (hammerhead).
My kernel is based on Unlegacy Kernel. I optimized the kernel for best battery life and performance balance. I tested it on AOSP Extended ROM. It should work on LOS too.
Features:
-Intelliactive governor.
-SIO scheduler.
-25mV Undervolted manually from acpuclock source code. (Only for PV2 CPUs)
-More cooler device.
You can download img from Google Drive link. Flash it via TWRP or fastboot.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RGqpxZJ5lJve57IJeRHZm-BjMhDGIQIy/view?usp=sharing
Source code: https://github.com/metahex/android_kernel_lge_hammerhead
Awesome, I'll test and feed you back
thanks for your work
Detail please for features? Thanks
For this build, kernel comes with intelliactive governor.
I will add some features and improvements for best battery life and performance. (In next build i will undervolt it and i will add more governors, I/O schedulers)
Changelog:
(v1.0.2)
-Kernel name banner fixed.
-25mv Undervolted for PV2 CPUs.
(v1.0.1)
-SIO is the default I/O scheduler.
Testing
Can someone confirm that kernel works with LOS?
thanks for the new kernel, but no work in DU 12.2 flashed via twrp.
Any chance you could have your kernel fix phonecall bluetooth audio? It's bugged on every custom ROM right now and it's been theorized it's a kernel issue.

https://github.com/esa-n/android_ke...mmit/45abf34f6a493b2e918b054bedeec3c4d2003900
How i should flash it?
Like "boot" or "recovery" ?
Its a kernel it goes flash it as a boot IMG
I flashed this with AEX ROM and it hung at boot
Will a custom kernel enable NTFS and exFat support on Oreo?? No ROM currently works why either of those so u can't use my external hard drives.
Flashed 1.0.2 kernel over us 8.1. The undervolt sold me! If possible, and if you're entertaining ideas, I'd greatly appreciate usb fastcharge support.
I've heard the arguments against it, but in two years I'd never had a problem.
Will it work on Nougat (Los 14.1)?

NOTICE
As we all know, there are multiple variants/versions of the Moto G6 (codenamed ALI). I personally own the XT1925-6 variant and have tested this kernel on both firmware versions OPS27.104-15-10 (pre-ota)(march security patch) and OPSS27.104-15-10-4 (post-ota)(july security patch).
Being that this kernel uses the AnyKernel2 format and is NOT a full boot.img, my hope is that it'll work for all variants/versions. Make sure to backup your boot partition before attempting to flash this kernel that way if something goes wrong, you can easily restore your boot.img. If this kernel works for you, please lemme know what variant/version you're using so I can make note of it so users in the future can rest assured it'll work for them as well
Lastly, you will need to have flashed a "no-verity_boot.img" for your device and have TWRP installed before you can flash this kernel. In the future, this may change.

Flashed perfectly on retus March firmware. First impressions are phone feels a bit snappier. Awesome kernel! Kcal control works great. On my G6 I changed rgb to 235/245/255 and saturation to 40.
Btw I'm using the same variant as you.

Awesome, good to know!
So far that's 2 confirmed variants
Been using since last night. Smooth as butter! A noticeable upgrade from stock kernel. I've flashed a few things and made a nano so not a good representation of battery life. I'll share my results when I have a normal usage day.
Works for me 1925-6 variant.
Omg, I'd love to see a Play (1922) variant of this kernel get made!
My wishlist includes much of what you've already included. Especially the Adrenoboost, Kcal, CRC disable, and added IO schedulers.
Just curious, do you plan on adding any hotplugging features? Like Intelliplug? Battery life could be drastically increased with implementation.

you have planned to create some custom rom for the moto g6 jleeblanch? I dont like the stock rom
I recommend to anyone try this kernel. It's such a dramatic improvement over stock. So buttery smooth! You might enjoy stock rom better with a better performing kernel.
@Jleeblanch I'd like to donate to your development but don't see where you have a donation link.

I may possibly at some point. However, you are aware that you can flash treble GSI's? Just make sure to use arm A-only versions of whatever rom you wanna try out. I personally haven't tried any so I can't say either way what doesn't or doesn't work, but from what I hear most things do work fine. Just make sure you have a TWRP backup and/or the stock firmware for your variant in case something goes wrong.

@Jleeblanch
Maybe you can activate the LED notifications in this kernel. Such things have already been done for older Motorola phones.

In previous models, there was a hidden diode, using the kernel gave the ability to use it as an LED notification. In moto g6 it is also possible.

Can you confirm which ROM you are using with this kernel? I've tried everything and no success with PS4 controller on PE9 or PE10 with this kernel.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Congrats. The kernel is actually a beast
I thought its unified for S20 family. Went straight to twrp and flashed the kernel on my Y2Q and it bricked immediately lol. Do you plan to support the S20+ and the standard S20 on the future?

Were you coming from another custom kernel or stock kernel
I had weta kernel installed on stock and then flashed bm kernel and mine bootlooped. When I installed Ali's rom I installed bm kernel right after flashing magisk on the first boot and it booted right up..I've flashed back and forth between the 2 kernels now with no issue..

Could be an issue with magisk. It is using the latest canary version so make sure your magisk manager is also on the latest canary.
Also, this kernel is using security patch level 2021-01-01 so the ROM needs to also match this.
