Congrats. The kernel is actually a beast

I thought its unified for S20 family. Went straight to twrp and flashed the kernel on my Y2Q and it bricked immediately lol. Do you plan to support the S20+ and the standard S20 on the future?

Were you coming from another custom kernel or stock kernel
I had weta kernel installed on stock and then flashed bm kernel and mine bootlooped. When I installed Ali's rom I installed bm kernel right after flashing magisk on the first boot and it booted right up..I've flashed back and forth between the 2 kernels now with no issue..

Could be an issue with magisk. It is using the latest canary version so make sure your magisk manager is also on the latest canary.
Also, this kernel is using security patch level 2021-01-01 so the ROM needs to also match this.

No at the moment, my main goal is provide a simply kernel for all with the latest upstream made by Linux according to the latest reports made by Kernel Mantainer (Greg and Willy) about upstream lts kernel.
The other goal is to provide third-party developers with a base for creating their own custom kernel starting from a clean base so if you want add another features you can grab my kernel and edit without any problem with the support of latest Kernel LTS version 3.10.108
Might have been negligence on my part, but I figured if it was made for 8.0, it would work on 8.1.
My phone said it was corrupt and had the red warning triangle and kept bootlooping.
Reflashed boot.img and system.img via fastboot and am back up and running.
Just posting in case anyone else on the 8.1 beta wanted to flash it.

Hiya fellas.
This is a sister project to the custom kernel I compiled for the original Moto G, for AOSP/Lineage/et cetera.
But my Moto G died months ago, and I, also months ago, got my hands into a Moto G5s, for which I compiled this kernel. I believe it's the only stock ROM-compatible custom kernel built for this device so far.
This will only work with Oreo. But if there's enough interest, I have some (older) Nougat-compatible builds ready.
Features:
Sources & Optimizations
- Based on Motorola's shared MSM8937/53 sources (cedric, potter, montana and sanders all use the same kernel source code)
- Compiled with Linaro 5.5
- Kernel-side NEON mode
- Some miscellaneous armv7 tweaks

F.A.Q. (Read this before crying!!!!)
Q: Why did you develop this kernel?
A: Because there was none for this poor device :/
Q: ERMAHGERD DIS KERNEL SUCKZ, MAH BATTERY IS DEAD IN 30 MINS, PLZ HALP!
A: When I created this kernel, I never had the intention to have it decrease battery life. So before / instead of complaining, check your wakelocks and fix them if you need to! The kernel (hopefully) isn't responsible for this, your apps and/or services are.
Q: Will this kernel work on AOSP/CM12.1/CM13 ROMs?
A: No. Stock ROM only.
Q: How do I report bugs?
A: If you wanna report a bug, then grab your kernel log - either by pulling /proc/last_kmsg (in case of a random reboot / kernel panic or oops) or copying the output of "dmesg" via shell - and paste it at pastie.org and link it in your post (or save it to a text file and attach it to your post). Don't bother getting logcats, they don't apply for kernel debugging purposes.
Q: How do I flash this?
A: I suggest you scroll up and read the OP. The instructions are there.
Q: How do I tweak this kernel?
A: Download Kernel Adiutor from the Play Store and have fun. No Synapse support!
Q: This kid is such a n00b!
A: Oh well then, why don't you go work on a kernel yourself, instead of criticizing my work?

You mean there's a Pixel Experience ROM with a broken kernel, and if it'll work with my kernel. No, it won't. This kernel is designed for the stock ROM only. Plus, Oreo 8.1 custom roms are 64 bit, the stock one is 32 bit.

Hi there. You can use the stockmoto_oreo branch as it is pretty much ready. If you want to start clean, you can hard-reset the branch to this commit via "git reset --hard (commit hash)".
Does this kernel have any bugs?
@Kamin4ri can you generate/create 64bit config for montana? Of course we talk about oreo branch. Thanks in advance

Well, I found no bugs. No difference in battery drain either. But consider this kernel still a test version.
I'm not an expert in kernels, but in my opinon, your tweaks should be on the end of file because it can be overwritten if its duplicated somewhere further in config file

[Kernel] Hammerheadmon Nethunter kernel with overclock

Hi everyone,
I am Luca from France. Today, it's my birthday, I am already 16 and I got a Nexus 5 32GB.
I tried installing Hammerheadmon kernel (Download at: https://build.nethunter.com/nightly...nter-hammerheadmon-nougat-2019.03-13-0514.zip ). I noticed it was based on ElementalX.
So I downloaded latest ElementalX nougat build for Nexus 5 ( https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=962187416754455497 ), and tried replacing "elex.zImage" by "zImage-dtb" of hammerheadmon kernel's zip.
After flashing the original hammerheadmon nethunter kernel, I flashed the modified ElementalX zip with hammerheadmon's zImage. And I successfully got my internal wifi card in monitor mode while my CPU was overclocked and undervolted.
I am running Unofficial LineageOS 14.1.
Download the 2 zips to flash below.
Note: You have to flash original Nethunter hammerheadmon kernel first in order to install all drivers. Obviously, you can't flash ElementalX edited zip first, because Nethunter kernel will replace you actual zImage-dtb in you boot partition that allows overclock by its own that doesn't.
PS: Congrats to @flar2 for developping ElementalX. I think it is amazing that in TWRP you can patch zImage for higher/lower voltages. I still haven't figured out how he managed to do that.

Edit : After thinking about it, I think ElementalX installer maybe does not edit zImage, but ramdisk only for frequency. It'd be really complicated to patch an ELF file. So it could mean that you don't need to flash the 1st zip first

Ever since I installed a custom rom on a closed-source Mediatek phone, I think EVERYTHING is possible lol
Please, we need a new kernel for Pie roms!
The exkernel base is awesome to overclock! For me is the only kernel on Oreo days!
I have the paid exkernel and is a bummer to loose Nexus 5 development...
Any good soul to work this for pie? I have the latest exkernel aroma installer for oreo in my folder.
Bro please add GPU overclock (650) in your kernel by which it is easy to play game like pubg smoothly. You can get the code for the same in true sight kernel 4.4 ( not updated from 2017 )

You have to look into the Nexmon repo and look if there is a option to apply it on a Oreo kernel
https://github.com/seemoo-lab/nexmon
I compiled a new Oreo kernel for NetHunter from the DirtyUnicorns github repo, but can't unfortunately release it here with hindsight of the general disregard of this amazing custom rom.

Wireguard can operate in two modes.
Kernel Level (root & supported kernel)
Userspace (non-root)
Kernel mode is better
