EMUI10 update on Rogers with vpn
Hi guys,
If you have NordVpn installed (or any vpn providers), connect to Hong Kong and check for update. My Rogers phone with a rogers sim card in it found the emu10 update and it installed without a problem.
Haven't tried other countries, but Hong Kong worked.

i dirty flashed same as you, enter erecovery and download firmware from there just finished here with bell back on my stock cust no need to backup as it does not wipe

Yes you can, im from serbia , i flashed with UK Ireland firmware
Do you lose OTA updates once you flash this UK ireland firmware for example? Do you need to factory reset/root/install twrp or Odin is enough?

Odin is your friend, no need for root or twrp. OTA will work. I live in the Netherlands and dirty flashed the unbranded UK/Irish version on my son's G925F, which had a Nordic Marshmallow version installed. Worked fine. The Vodafone branded version for the Netherlands did not work, but maybe I should have removed the SIM card first, since this was no Vodafone SIM. You can change the language into any language you prefer.
Hi I have Android 7 for a week now. And I have a problem with power sawing mode... Looks like it doesn't work?

I bought mine in Denmark, so Nordic version as well I guess, but I never tried using Odin, can you provide some more info? Do I need to factory reset or it keeps all my data, I am also on Marshmallow (G925FXXU5DPL5 baseband), It's Unlocked, any sim works in it.

If you go to the firmware page of sammobile you will find the instructions for installing and using Odin. It's not complicated. I did a dirty flash and that went well. All apps and data were unaffected.

restoring stock modem firmware

I tried rebranding to c342 from c185 and reverted back but my sim doesn't work and I presume my baseband was updated to European and didn't go back to the middle eastern one.
Could that be? Any advise how to fix it?

UPDATE: Problem fixed using HuRUpdater and flashing stock roms zips with it. HWOTA8 doesn't fully flash all partitions so I advise using this one instead.

I had the same problem with Galaxy A50. Got no OTA. I flashed current ROM with ODIN and then magically OTA has started to arrive next months.
So was my case with M30S too. I had to flash August update. Now I am waiting what will happen upon arrival of new ROM
P.S. If you phone is branded, then it is obviously OK if you do not get OTA in time

If you flash official firmware files using odin it does not wipe your data. And it seems like you already have latest firmware.

Is there a new or more up-to-date method to root and flash fw on Mate 20 Pro?

Hi,
Does anyone know if the Mate 20 Pro rooting and flashing the fw guides here are still working and should still be used? I do have a code to unlock my bootloader, but it appears that the guides, and the software recommended to install/use in those guides are either outdated or no longer accessible.
I'm kind of reluctant to follow the guides to root and flash my fw, that my risk the chance of bricking my phone. Does anyone know of any guides that still work today?
I'm currently on 9.0.0.265(C636E10) that was flashed by the previous owner through FunkyHuawei. The phone was purchased from a Canadian carrier (Rogers) and the fw should be associated to the C792 region. I would like to root and re-flash my fw back to the C792 region and start receiving OTA updates, but I'm unable to find a complete and up-to-date guide to help me achieve this.
Any help from you experts is greatly appreciated.

Need help! S9+ SM-G965U1

I have a SM-G965U1 S9+ unlocked phone purchased from Samsung. I recently downloaded an OTA update. I lost the ability to use the hotspot feature. It has always worked in the past. I downloaded Odin and the last version of the firmware that had full capability to use the hotspot feature. I tried installing and it failed.
Is there a way for me to rollback the latest update?

My bootloader says RP SWREV: B9(2,2,2,9,2) K9 S9
I tried to flash Android 10 G965U1UEU7DTA5 and Android 9 G965U1UES7CSK2. I downloaded them from sammobile. I entered my model number G-965U1 and since I have an unlocked phone that already had the CSC code XAA for USA I chose the list of XAA firmware. I tried the closest date to when I got the phone and one other. Sorry if I don't know exactly what I am talking about. Looking at the versions I downloaded they look to be for bootloader version 7 not 9 is that right?

Your are on bit ( bootloader ) ver 9 you are trying flash firmware with ver 7. You can not downgrade firmware. You need to find ver 9 or higher ( 5th number/letter from right of firmware file name ) to be able to flash.
You could try a pc app called frija to download latest version. You have to search here on xda as i can't post links at the monemt.

Sorry my mistake. I forgot about your hotspot issue. Frija download latest firmware only.
If your on G965u1eu9fue4 ( problaby updated to G965u1es9fug2 ) the early version before your update is G965u1es9fud1.
Try downloading this and see if it works. You should be able to flash anything with a bit 9 firmware ( 5th number from right of firmware name )
