Easiest method by far is to install TWRP imo.
Follow the guide here to unlock bootloader (ONLY UNLOCKING BOOTLOADER) then follow the guide here to install TWRP and root.
It's a pretty straightforward procedure.

Hi there,
I've successfully rooted with kingroot.
Can I just unlock BL with the guide on XDA, install twrp and flash firenexus or CM? or are there things I need to lookout for?
I'm not very familiar with amazon tablets.
Thanks in advance!!

Just follow the guide. Once unlocked only flash custom ROMs specifically built for this device (never stock). Be sure to consult ROM OP for flashing guidance.

Hi there,
I've used the tutorial to create the unlock code but when I try to flash I get FAILED (remote: Unlock code is NOT correct)
I've created the unlock file a few times but still no luck. Any idea what the issue could be? Or any solutions?
Thanks!!
EDIT: My bad, failed to look at step 2. Bootloader is finally unlocked!!

Great!
As an aside (recognizing your 'new' member status) probably want to change your XDA user name unless it's a disposable email address.

How do I root?

Hiya! Total newbie to rooting here. The only thing I know are the benifits, drawbacks and the risks involved.
Does anyone have a working guide to root a Wileyfox Swift 2 Plus?
Unlock bootloader, install custom recovery, install SuperSU. Done
Read through the bootloader unlock thread for more help.

Allright.
A Phone always comes with a locked bootloader so if you don't unlocked it yourself it is still locked.
To flash twrp you will need a unlocked bootloader and to unlock a bootloader you need rootacess.
I used the app rlashr to flash twrp and boot in recovery. Don't forget to type 'su' in a terminal before you use it (at the guide how to unlock a bootloader)
This guide tells you how to do everything:
(Follow these steps: root -> bootloader-> recovery(twrp))

Good luck!

NO easier method to unlock bootloader, than having it done through Xiaomi, takes 15 days wait time.
Easiest way to root would be flashing magisk using TWRP.
