How do I root? - Wileyfox Swift 2 Questions & Answers

Hiya! Total newbie to rooting here. The only thing I know are the benifits, drawbacks and the risks involved.
Does anyone have a working guide to root a Wileyfox Swift 2 Plus?

Unlock bootloader, install custom recovery, install SuperSU. Done
Read through the bootloader unlock thread for more help.

I appreciate the guidance, but I, like the OP, would like to know if there is another way of doing this w/o having to downgrade... no need to belittle the question, after all this is a forum, where by definitions questions are expected...
BTW, anybody has found a way to root 4.4.4 w/o downgrade? Thanks!

Despite all the negative feedback you've gotten by asking your question, YES there is a way. I found it and then created a new thread with the step-by-step.
Unfortunately, it does require unlocking bootloader and a few other tradeoffs such as losing X-reality and your warranty.

Depends how you update. Just don't update with ota or pc companion.
1 Downgrade to 4.4.2
2 Root phone
3 Install recovery for locked bootloader
4 Flash rooted 4.4.4 zip in recovery
5 latest firmware and root remains
I am new to Sony devices (been a Samsung guy for years). I have had my Z2 less than a fortnight but already I'm itching to root it etc, problem is it seems a lot more complicated than Samsung devices. I was always switching between roms on my S4/note 2. I am on the latest firmware and would like to root it to be able to use xposed but I'm scared of messing it up and as the phone is under warranty don't want to end up with a paper weight.
Has anyone done a detailed tutorial for newbies like myself?
Thanks in advance
Scotty.

It's not really that hard and there are also of resources online that can guide you.
1 Downgrade to 4.4.2 is required as noone had found a vulnerability with 4.4.4.
2 Root phone
For step 1 and 2, Have a look at this http://www.xda-developers.com/android/how-to-root-the-sony-xperia-z2-xda-developer-tv/
3 install recovery for lock bootloader
Have a look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785598
4 install a 4.4.4 zip through recovery. I recommend this one as its basically stock http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/development/stock-4-4-4-23-0-1-0-167-bug-free-t2929402

Need help with rooting and installing twrp in iVOOMi Me3

Hey there guys, actually I bought an iVOOMi Me3 recently and I wanted a phone with Android Oreo, but this phone has Android nougat (7.0) and I had to settle due to low budget. And also this phone isn't much popular so I can't find any guides for rooting it and I can't find TWRP or CWM for it. And I wanna get it rooted and install a custom recovery. Also, I need a ROM with Android Oreo(8.0) or at least 7.1.1 or 7.1.2. Please help!

Kingroot won't work+I don't trust that at all. Anyway, I got rid of my ivoomi in 6 months. And now have a moto and am happy developing roms for it(even got official maintainership for cosp), anyway, rooting is easy. Just unlock your bootloader, and flash twrp using fastboot and then flash magisk. It's not that tough, but you can quote me if you run into any issues. Thanks!

without a pc you cant flash twrp unless you have root. So, I'd suggest you to use a friends' someone else's PC.

NO easier method to unlock bootloader, than having it done through Xiaomi, takes 15 days wait time.
Easiest way to root would be flashing magisk using TWRP.

Easiest method by far is to install TWRP imo.
Follow the guide here to unlock bootloader (ONLY UNLOCKING BOOTLOADER) then follow the guide here to install TWRP and root.
It's a pretty straightforward procedure.
