Kernel source code released for Poco X2 / Redmi K30 4G - Xiaomi Poco X2 Guides, News, & Discussion

Kernel source code has been promptly released after Poco X2 official launch:
https://www.xda-developers.com/poco-x2-xiaomi-redmi-k30-4g-kernel-source-release/
https://github.com/MiCode/Xiaomi_Kernel_OpenSource/tree/phoenix-q-oss
The use of that is pathway to develop a TWRP recovery for our device

TWRP will take time, but at least someone can make a working fastbootd to flash eu ROMs

Question Will there be any custom rom for this device ?

I bought a moto edge 20 fusion from Flipkart almost a week ago. I've been watching this forum for a week but there have been no posts whatsovever. So this led me to wonder wether this phone will get any custom rom at all.
Even a bootloader unlock or custom recovery for this device would be much appreciated.
If anyone's seeing this post, please don't hesitate to leave your thoughts in the comments.

Yeah same thoughts, only hindrance is the MediaTek SoC. I read around and it seems MediaTek doesn't share their source code or libraries to public like SnapDragon which is necessary for custom ROM development. Also read that one Xiaomi device with mediaTek had great custom ROM support as Xiaomi provided the source code or other resource, so it's not impossible to build custom ROM. Let's hope Motorola and MediaTek provide resources.

He is also maintaining PE officially for Redmi 9 Prime and Poco M2.

General [WIP] POCO X3 GT / Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G Device Tree

I'm learning how to write a device tree for building Android for POCO X3 GT, as you can see this is my Device tree repository ,Although it is not yet fully used to build a usable custom Android system and not particularly good-looking,but it can at least pass the build
as you can see i used the Chinese version of MIUI 12.5.6 firmware to write this device tree,Although I solved the problem of the kernel not booting, I still encountered the problem of not being able to start the recovery
I don't know when I'll be able to finish it, but at least it can be used as a practice project for me
If there is anything that needs to be fixed, please submit a PR for me
Very Nice , i support it
can join it development Dimensity 1100
Also I support it thank you very much for your hard works.

Question Should I purchase Redmi note 12 (India)

Hi,
Requirements: Custom ROM support
Another requirement : More Custom ROM support
I googled and find that Xiaomi did not release their Kernal and source code yet.
Is going release them near soon.
What is the situation on Xiaomi side.
Previously I've used OnePlus 9R ( of course all custom ROM only)
Kindly advise.

Hi, Kindly release Kernal and device trees for Redmi note 12 5g Sunstone. Do not close this issue without releasing, if it's already released kindly make them public or share link here.

Let's face it. You buy Redmi devices because it's best value for money and Xiaomi is able to subsidize the hardware by putting ads on your phone, so it's not in their best interest to help you put custom ROM on it.
if you really prioritize custom roms then pay a couple of dollars more and get a OnePlus.
do not buy redmi!you should never get the experience after has one redmi device
