S20 Ultra Case Arrived - Pictures, Size Comparison and Volume/Power Button Placement - Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra Accessories

Just got my S20 Ultra case and boy am I getting excited. This phone is going to be a beast.
First picture, just the case for visuals.
Second picture, comparing to the already large S10 5G (sorry for the potato quality, taken from my Tab S4)

Wow that's HUGE!
The S10 5G is big as it is.
Have to wonder if the Note 20 is going to break the 7" barrier.

Samsung Galaxy K Zoom review for S4 Zoom users

As an ex S4 Zoom owner, I now have the K Zoom, and at the moment there is no dedicated thread. I've written quite a bit about the K Zoom since I've got it on Saturday.
Link to review and my 7 part S4 review http://gavinsgadgets.wordpress.com/?s=Samsung+K+Zoom+review
Part 3 of the K Zoom is up tomorrow. If you click on any part of the review you will also see a link to the expanding K Zoom flickr set. Part 3 is a big part with camera specifics.
If you any questions I will answer them here.
The only bit I miss on the K Zoom from the S4 Zoom is the tripod mount is missing on the K Zoom. Otherwise , the K Zoom is better in every way.
Anyway, fire away any questions.

Thanks for taking the time to review and posting the link here! Appreciate it.
Can you keep us updated on if dust reaches the lens below the protective glass?

Will do. I'm waiting for my free case from Samsung. This has a lens cover too, that automatically pops off when lens opens.

That's pretty cool.
I read your review and I agree with you. I prefer having 1080p res and a thin profile on my smartphone. After using the S4 and HTC One now I'll stick to the HTC One (terrible camera but great speakers and body), gave my wife the S4 Zoom since she doesn't mind. I'm glad the K Zoom is thinner but it seems it has some of the same issues that the S4 Zoom has also, and it also has bad sound quality.. It shows that Samsung did not work too hard on this other than the body (which looks really good) and adding the same TW software that the S5 has.

Sound quality isn't bad. It's just not as good as the HTC One M8 for example.
My review (as posted on Galaxy Camera Section)
So, I got the Galaxy K Zoom on launch day and my first impressions are WOW! It has far exceeded my expectations in many ways.
The build quality is really good, it feels solid and it looks really nice (I have the black one). I thought the screen might be sub standard being only 720p but it really is sharp and bright and although super AMOLED the colours are not saturated at all. They have got the balance right in my opinion and the size is right too. It doesn't feel particularly bulky or heavy and the casing is grippy.
I didn't have a lot of time but I did a quick comparison test with photographs taken from it in the same spot with my Galaxy S4 Zoom and the Galaxy Camera. I have to say the shots on the K Zoom at 10x optical were on a par with the Galaxy Camera and better than the S4 Zoom. I also tried 20x zoom that's 10 optical +10x digital and the results were far better than I expected, actually they were great. Low light level shots came out better than the Galaxy Camera as did the video recording.
There are tons of scene modes and not forgetting the excellent AF/AE mode – This lets you choose separate parts of the picture to act as exposure metering and focus points. The only thing missing oddly enough is the tilt shift (or selective focus) as seen on the S5, I am not sure why that wasn't included. I also thought there was mean't to be an LED flash in addition to the Xenon, for video use but that's missing and there's no notification LED. But no great loss.
But overall, it a massive improvement over the S4 Zoom and it's definitely good enough to replace my Galaxy Camera. It's pocketable, has full mobile phone function, better screen, battery life, interface and Android Kit-Kat on board. Missing only a tripod mount (I bought a smartphone tripod mount accessory to solve this) and that extra 10x zoom if we're talking Galaxy Camera comparison.
I have only been using it for a day but I am bowled over. I have no regrets replacing the Galaxy Camera with this baby.

I tried to leave a comment on your review on your blog, but it just boots me off. So I cut and paste it here:
Whilst this is an excellent in depth review, and I love the sample pics you have posted by the way! I thought I would add my findings. As I have also included a mini review above obviously I have a K Zoom and I have not experienced any crashes at all. Maybe you have a memory card issue? Also I didn't think the sound was bad at all. It's subjective granted but I have heard much worse. "Story Album" works perfect for me too, so I am wondering if you have some 3rd party app conflict. I also have no reception problems.
My biggest criticism of your review is I don't think it's fair to compare it to an S5 or HTC One M8. The K Zoom isn't a flagship top end device like the S5. So the missing features you complain of are a cost cutter and as long as the camera side performs well (which it does) then I am happy I bought it for that reason. At £360 (pre order cost) I think it's an absolute bargain. You're not going to get an S5 with an optical zoom camera for that price.

No idea why it did that.
Back for a day out. Took 700 photos. Battery down to 10% so used ultra power saving mode. Very impressed today.

When I pre ordered via the Samsung estore in the UK, part of that offer was a free case. It comes about a week after the phone.

I didn't reply to this part yesterday. Was busy sorting through 700 photos . I like you mini review too.
I assume you've read the other parts of the review as they got published daily. Also my flickr account photo set is getting bigger as we speak.
The reason I compared the K Zoom with the S5 was not to knock it but to give people who are used to that sort of phone an idea of the differences and then it leaves them seeing whether it matters or not. Personally, the only things I miss with my S5 is the notification led , waterproofing, and the screen. Obviously the S5 costs £200 more, but I thought it showed that in reality the K Zoom has all the essentials and more.
In fact in use I don't know of any camera let alone phone that can take over 700 photos in one day and still have battery remaining. Awesome.

I ordered mine on the 26th too (experience store Westfield London) and received it on launch day (30th) so not sure why yours is delayed they told me there was plenty of stock. Unless you ordered a blue one which are due mid June. Still waiting for the case to arrive though.

Cheers, well done - that's the answer, I chose a blue one!
Didn't realise they had to send the phone to Mars for some young martians in a sweat shop to paint it blue with their special hair covered index fingers.....!

Ha! I was also in the process of ordering a blue one until I realised it had a delayed launch and I just wasn't patient enough to wait 2 more weeks! Having said that, the black one looks fantastic, I'm very pleased with my choice.
Sent from my SM-T320 using Tapatalk
I agree black IMO is the best colour for this phone. I have the S5 too, which should be sold today. I chose white for this as this was the best colour for it. Black looked too boring on it.
But black on the K Zoom is awesome.

US Axon 7 in hand

I got mine in the mail yesterday.
It's a lovely phone.
Feels great in the hand.
I'm gonna have to determine which will be my DD between the 1+3 and this one.
I tried getting into the bootloader and the down button + power button combo takes me to a 'factory test mode' screen.
There is an option in developer settings to make bootloader unlockable though.
However, I've seen that option on every Android phone of late.
I also got mine yesterday and so far everything has worked perfectly. I had my doubts when I ordered it because of the low price I felt everything that was said about it couldn't be true but I will say now that it was worth every penny I paid for it. I also have the galaxy 7 edge and so far the Axon 7 is just as good as it still testing but so far amazing phone.
Would love to know how picture quality compares to s7. Especially when you zoom in. I have one plus and disappointed in camera quality. Considering axon 7 or s7.

"Look" of the device (aesthetics)

Is the Huawei Mate 9 as good-looking as you are (despite your receding hairline, adult-onset acne, and massive weight gain)? Rate this thread to express whether you think the Huawei Mate 9 is attractive. A higher rating indicates that you would even go as far to say that the Huawei Mate 9 is a beautiful phone.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
It looks really good, good quality build, and its actually not that big comparing to my relative small hands
very nice for the relative low cost compared to pixel/iphone etc
I was just looking at The LG G6.... It's a beautiful phone, but this thing on small bezels only applies to the top and bottom. The Mate 9s side bezels are just as tiny... In fact, they look tinier!
The only thing with the Mate 9 is the top and bottom of the rear frame. Sloppy.
It isn't an edge screen, so it's liked.
Think it is better looking than a s7 edge. Some friends that own a s7 edge think this as well. It is minimalistic but very well done. Small logo nice stainless steel
is it easier to hold with one hand than the nexus 6?
thanks

My friend commented on the phone, he likes the colour the feel etc. He's on the S6 edge plus. I had the s7 edge before this for a week and chose the mate 9 primarily because it didn't have the curved edges.
The Pro was therfore not worth it for me. I think the device feels premium, the body colour and materials are superb.
I have the gold/mocha.
Look very good, some kind of generic according to the most recently launched phones like op3 and others that have similar build, but is very pretty after all. In my opinion s7 edge I've had before has better looking with the survey screen but it's only until you turn on the mate 9 screen.

Likewise, it's not overdone and quite elegant in my opinion. Taking it a step further with Elegance or similar theme, gold tinted icons for apps blends into the phones look quite nicely. Then customised slightly further with theme editor.
Then I've a case protector that's black, gold trim, for sales season, handing around with gallery images, accepting payments, social outing etc.
and second case that spoils all the above, love mei tough case and no concerns about working around the farm with it Turns it into a ruggedised tablet. (if you get one, scratch off paint directly below the front proximity sensor, else the invisible light sensor is blocked and auto dims to max.
Compared to 5.5 inch phones our 5.9 Mate looks smaller (e.g apples 7 plus < Mate9 dimensions) Top quality compared to my previous phones, you get what you pay for.
Huawei did a great job with Mate 9
Beautiful, my only love
It's a rectangular slab of metal, plastic and glass. I base my buying habits, on the INSIDE quality of the phone, not how "sleek, sexy, colorful & stylish" it is. Right now, this is my 3rd Huawei phone. It's the quality of the inside of the device, that keeps me coming back.
Hey....looks are important!
Give me a slow moving, lush looking car over an over-powered crate on wheels any day!
I have to want to be with and feel good with my phone. It's in my hands all day. I look at it every time I use it.
This - it's what it does that matters - doesn't cut it for me. Nah.
It's got to look good and feel good to me.

V30 vs. Note 8 (A current V30 user)

Hey All,
Firstly, thanks in advance for the wisdom, advice, and support.
I need some advice. I am a historic Galaxy Note user - from the Note 2 through the Note 5, I've had and loved them all. I recently switched to the V30 last week after my Note 5 just wasn't making it anymore. The V30 appealed to me as a multimedia powerhouse with the unique 10 bit camera, cine log, etc. (I create multimedia - video/photos/social media on the daily for my job - the have since given me a iPhone 7+, but I still prefer creating on my android). The Note 8 appeals because it seems to be more comforting considering my history, is a powerhouse as well in so many ways, and a telephoto lens, among other things.
After returning my first Verizon V30 for terrible screen banding, I got another one that has a pretty good screen with the exception of brightness uniformity issues and crushed blacks in low light. I've read, watched, and researched as much as I can, and I can't decide what to do. I'd love your input and advice on what to do. Here's my pro/con list in no particular order:
V30:
+ DAC
+ Cine Log
+ Size in hand
+ $200 card + daydream VR
- Screen in low light (uniformity + crushed blacks)
- Wide angle cam
- 4gb ram
Note 8:
+ S pen
+ Samsung Pay
+ Telephoto camera
+6gb Ram
+ $150 credit (best buy promotion)
- Size
- Fingerprint location
Advice is much appreciated!
Thank you!

I think if you can answer the question what do you miss from your current V30 is there a feature that is really USEFUL for you you wish it would have had? Specs aside real use for your specific needs

I am not sure what exactly you are asking....
I can tell you that I had the Note 8 for 2 weeks and took it back. It's BIG. HEAVY and I didn't use the S-Pen after the first couple of days. The Camera was phenomenal. I returned it and used a flip phone for two days, then bought the V30 on release day at AT&T. I did it that way so I could return it for the Note 8 if I didn't like it.
So far, so good. My screen is good. The brightness is weird, sometimes it seems brighter than others, but as of yet it has not been a big deal. It is NOWHERE near as bright as the Note 8, but no phone is. I do miss that about the 8. I do not miss the zoom lens. It was a gimmick. It helped some with macro photos, but the digital zoom on the V30 is AMAZING.
Battery life is about the same, and the LG charges faster then the Note. The LG fits in pockets better and seems right in my hand, whereas the Note seemed way too long. You really notice that the LG is nearly 40 grams lighter, but it does not feel cheap. Also, the manual mode on the LG Camera is so much better than the Note. It has much better tactile control on it's slider. That makes all the difference in the world. And the sound, whether through a cord or bluetooth is MUCH better in my car!
I have until Thursday to make up my mind about trading, but I think I'm going to be very happy with the LG.
I hope that helps
the note 8 is better. smoother has bettet screen , feel more premium. owning both right now the note 8 is going back and is just because of how tall and heavy it is. the v30 is just much more comfortbale devices. Botj phone are awesome.
Thank you all for the opinions!
I appreciate your feedback and and still conflicted although am leaning toward keeping the V30. One of the original reasons I chose was the size and it sounds like the 8 is just too huge. Just wish the V30 had Samsung Pay and a better screen experience, but I think the V30 checks all the right boxes.
Thanks again!

I was debating between those two also and had to go with v30 I've owned note phones before but never used the spen but cant deny note8 looks beautiful but I'm a music guys and prefer the camera set up of the v30 and so far no issue with the v30 screen loving it
If the op is concern about size then the v30 is the right choice. I am also a note user, dating back from the original phablet note. The note 8 feels Right at home, if anything the note 8 is actually easier to hold vs note 5 and back. Starting with the note 7 which was quiet nice to hold also. I suggest the op go play with the note 8. If the v30 screen is not your cup of tea, the note 8 has the best screen right now.

unlike android pay. samsung pay work anywhere u are able to swipe ur card, even if it doesnt take electronic payment. it sents a magnetic signal to the credit swipe machine just like if u are physically swiping ur credit/debit card register in the app. works 100% of the time. unlike other electronic payment like apple or android pay.
I have the Note 8 but have tested out the V30 as well.
Pros for the Note 8:
-Brighter screen with more saturated colors
-6 GB RAM helps with app management
-Better looking UI. Though both can be themed.
-Feels more substantial
-Conventional power button placement
-Headphone jack on the bottom instead of top
Pros for the V30:
-Smaller form factor, more comfortable to hold
-Audio optimization

ad to the v30.
better fingerprint location
up there with the best, faster more acurrate fingerprint around
face unlock with screen off
better battery life
phone still super cool doesnt matter what u do. note 8 doesnt get has hot like s8. but cannot compare to the v30 coolness
i had both but decided to keep the v30 just because the hifi dac, wide angle lens, the size which is 100% more comfortable and 6" of usuable screen. hated the curve screen.
For me the Note 8 was just too heavy. The curved screen registered way too many accidental touches. I don't use the S-Pen on my Note 3, so I doubt I'd use it on the Note 8. The screen on the V30 is bright bright enough for me. The camera is fine. The audio quality with headphones is amazing on the V30 too.
Overall, for me, the V30 worked out great. Now to get my first VR headset. They said I'm approved for the promotion and it'll be here in 6-8 weeks. Two year warranty was a nice added bonus as well.

I just got home from work. I have the note 8 since Friday so basically 2 days. I love the phone except that it's too big and heavy like you said. If if was 6 inches itwp ups be the perfect device. But damn it's so big. So now I'm thinking about returning it and grabbing either an S8, V30 or Z2 even.

Check out the V30. It's a great phone. Body to screen ratio is awesome. The face detection works great. Battery life is great. A huge improvement over my Nexus 6p.
I had the Note 8 (unlocked US version) and then bought the V30...after about 3 days with the V30 I sold the Note 8.
You can see what I liked/disliked alone with camera samples from both on this thread if interested.

True. I miss that as well. But the always on display kind of makes up for it.

Yes, my wife has the S8 and I had the S8+. I prefer the V30 or Pixel 2 XL over them. I just love the aspect ration of the V30 so much more and it feels like the perfect size phone to me. Just wish I could get rid of some of the random lag and have it snappy like the Pixel

Samsung Galaxy S10 5G Hands-On

Fellow XDA Members I was fortunate enough to have had some hands on time with the S10 5G, I thought I would share what I found with you so if you are thinking about buying one in the future or waiting for it over the standard S10 Plus, feel free to ask me any questions. I have also created a video about the S10 5G and the link is below but please read my experience with it first, VIDEO LINK HERE: https://youtu.be/dyrG-nAJFvc
Holding it in my hand I realise how big this phone is but it still feels smaller than I thought it would thanks to the hole punch camera design infact I would say it feels very similar in size to my Note 9. In a similar vein to the other S10 models Samsung has chosen to give us an aluminium frame sandwiched between two panes of curved glass with gorilla glass 6 covering the screen. I’m glad they didn’t go with a stainless steel frame otherwise it would be a very heavy device. The back has a stunning new colour that Samsung is calling Titan which has a rainbow shimmer effect but it will also be available in silver and gold.
The screen is stunning, a massive 6.7inches way bigger than the S10 plus but Samsung has also said that it is a wide Quad HD Plus screen with Dynamic Amoled technology and boy does it look good, Samsung are the kings of mobile screens. Hidden in the screen is the all new ultrasonic fingerprint sensor which works well and only needs the slightest touch to unlock the phone even when the screen is off.
Running this titan is the Snapdragon 855 the same as the other s10 models, but the difference is Samsung has included the X50 modem chip which gives it that hyper fast 5G connectivity. Of course none of this matters if the battery is not up to par and wisely Samsung has included a 4600 mah power pusher in the S10 5G. Samsung has also included the all new 25W fast wired charging capability which according to Samsung will charge the phone from 0 to 20% in just 10 minutes and to 100% in less than an hour. Just like the S10 plus the 5G has fast wireless charging 2.0 and wireless power share.
It will come with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of inbuilt storage but unfortunately it is not expandable due to lack of room within the phone.
This video wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t talk about the cameras, firstly it is obvious to see the punch hole in the screen is bigger than the one on the standard S10 plus. That is because it now houses the same 10mp f1.9 primary camera and 8mp f2.2 depth sensor but also included is an all new HQVGA 3D depth sensing camera which will be used for advanced AR features and is capable of measuring distances. This same sensor is included in the rear camera cluster alongside the 12mp variable aperture primary lens, the telephoto 12mp f2.4 camera and the ultra wide 16mp f2.2 sensor which gives a 123 degree viewing angle like human eyes.
Like the other s10 models the 5G comes with android 9.0 onboard and all the pie goodness such as night mode, the sleeker ui design, gesture controls and an overall smoother experience. So you are thinking great device I would love to own one, well I have a different opinion, now hear me out , my issue is that I don’t believe it will sell well because Samsung have said it will be released in summer. Now bearing in mind the networks won’t be fully 5 g ready by then coupled with the fact that the 5G Note 10 will be only a couple of months away, I can see consumers waiting for that instead of investing in the S10 5G.
Nice write up my friend, yeah your conclusion is the same as to why I went with the S10+ and I am happy with my choice. I will be getting the note so holding off for the S10+ 5G didn't make sense.
However I think it is indicative as to what the Note 10 will bring and boy is it going to be good....:good:
Good to hear your review! I'm going to enjoy my S10+ for a while and wait for 5G to get established...
i just not sure how I am going to afford the 5G plan in U.S.
So I am fine with Note 9 and s10
Thanks for taking the time to do the write up. I'll be looking to trade up to this once available for sure!!
