Whitestone Some Glass (Q) - OnePlus 7T Pro (Regular & McLaren) Accessories

So after a few cheapies that left me completely unable to use my fingerprint I got the dome glass for my McLaren. The first on they sent me was defective, actually the installation cradle was messed up and it cause all the adhesive to immediately run off the side of the phone. The replacement installed perfect and I can say this is the best glass protector I've ever used, for any device. I did the install about 2 weeks ago and this morning I notice on the edge in half a dozen spots it looks like it's chipped but is still smooth. Or maybe it looks like something is trapped underneath like lint. Actually it kind of looks like there is 2 layers of glass and it starting to separate. I will post some shots when I get my hands on another device, but my question is does this sounds familiar to anyone using this product? The install was perfectly clean, or so I thought. Why would it take weeks to develop? Will Whitestone do another exchange?

I have been using this since release date without any issues it what your seeing at all, might try and get a replacement. Any way you can post some pics?

Ghost armor

Has anyone tried ghost armor?

i have it on my prime.. it pretty good actually..
I have had Ghost Armor on all of my phones and intend to for my Prime because it's great stuff. I went to the Ghost Armor kiosk at the mall and didn't have it for the Prime. It's on the website so I'm sure I'll be able to order it. I just don't like doing it myself because I like the guarantee of having them re-do it if they get it wrong.

if you have the front and back protector on it will scratch.. i had the front and it scratch when i put it on.. but i figure out a way so it wont scratch the front now...you can see on the dock mount there is a long thin black pad (sticker) .. that what push against the screen and scratch it.. so i took it off and clean off all the glue with a q tip and alcohol...
So to clarify it scratches the screen protector, the carbon fiber, or the prime itself?
The screen protector. But the prime itself it untouched

I ordered it from the mall kiosk. They will install it when it comes in. I have GA on my mytouch 4G. Had it on since day one. It has a couple scratches but the back and front are in tact. Sides started to come off after over a year of going in and out of my pocket and 2 decent drops. But front and back held up better than I would have guessed. I still think I can peel off the GA and sell my mytouch in great condition on eBay. I'm sure there are other great solutions, might even have a little less "orange peel" factor or a fraction of a percent more translucency. But if you are lazy and want an excellent case, no bubbles, no worries... Do yourself a favor and hit up the kiosk.

sorry for all the questions but...i must ask another (maybe a few):
how hard is it to dock it with both on without those black stripes being removed?...and how is the back? is it like the ipad on with the corners cut so they dont bubble up b/c of the bend? or are there small strips that go along the edges?

You are a freaking godsend! I was scratching my head over what to do about mine bubbling up and I didn't think to look into the groove to investigate. You saved me $30 and are very deserving of your +thanks.

Yeah, they offered to order it for me, but I just don't trust them to complete an order correctly. The kiosk nearest me has the highest employee turnover I've ever seen.
I honestly am not gonna install a screen protector it makes it look ugly and decreases the sensitivity of it....
Plus I will be docked 90% of the time anyways

Here is what I do not understand. Putting a screen protector on Gorilla Glass, sounds like overkill to me. My Inspire has it and it rolls around in my pocket with change/keys and not a single scratch, not even a tiny minor one on the phone. I scratch almost all of my phones in one way or another so this is fantastic. I never understood protectors because they make the screen look like junk (and the primes screen is FANTASTIC). And from what I've used, sometimes make it less responsive.
I guess why would you put a protector on it? Don't believe me about the scratch resistance, go look on their website, or come find me i'll take my key s to my phone and show you how good the gorilla glass is. Or maybe you're using the prime as a frisbee, and in that case nothing will help you . Maybe someone can shed some light on this for me.

I've only had one screen protector that was noticeable and ugly, it also effected the screen sensitivity, that was a anti glare/finger print which I got from Verizon. I've had several clear protectors since that you can't tell they are there, and they didn't have sensitivity issues.

Gorilla glass is overrated, I baby my phone and it has a lot of scratches. The only reason I didn't get a protector is because I went through 6 thunderbolts (doesn't have gorilla glass) and after the first three I quit using screen protectors and the screen never got a scratch, and I had the last one for 2 months. I thought if the t bolt screen was that good then gorilla glass would be better, not so, my bionic started getting scratched up within the first week.

I highly recommend an Invisishield. I love their products, given that my Epic 4G Touch has one. But needless to say, I was a little reluctant to have Geek Squad install one on my Prime, given that I purchased the unit for the original Transformer. We "ghetto rigged" it perfectly, and it came out really well! I am very pleased with how it looks! Give it a shot if you're anything like me... someone who needs instant gratification.

Yeah. Really lucky. My 4 week old Neo V was just falling once into the ground. It landed with the upper left corner.
RESULT:
Broken Screen, just a real little part in the left upper corner. But. The Touchscreen isn't working anymore...
Did somebody had some problems with dust under the screen?! There were about 2 tiny "things" under it...
As the above posters said, the screen is scratch resistant. In those 4 weeks I've didn't had one.
Sorry for my english skills...
I cant imagine a smartphone without any screen protector. I have been using this one for couple months and it has already saved my screen from scratches (even from some small particles when you have it in your pocket). Its true that the tiny part of shield is irretrievably scratched (even they guarantee its indestructibility), but the display is like new. Thank god!
i would still buy a screen protector just to be sure if i were you,
you can get it really cheap on ebay or maybe other webshops.

and what about silicon cases.....it's really helps? it's easy to find on the internet? cause i don't think i will find a good 1 here in Brazil......
Im between a optimus black and a xperia neo.... probably going for the neo... it's cheaper and i liked it a lil bit more than the optimus.....
Got my Neo a screen protector since day one. Been using it for more than a month... Got my protector some scratches... Well I think putting a screen protector is better rather than having none. Got nothing to loose right? just a few bucks (LOL) Im more concerned on getting some scratches on its back cover so I got a silicon case. Drop my phone twice, no dents or whatever...

hmmm.. You said it was scratched? Does it look like a dead pixel or stuck pixel? if it is a stuck pixel, you could search for the web on fixing it. Dark spots are caused by an excess pressure and sadly some of them grows larger just like on TVs, LCD monitors etc.... Its either, you try fixing it, or get your unit replaced.....

[Q] Screen protection

Hi XDA
I'm new here (this is my first thread) and I want to ask something. I have a question about screen protection on the GS3. At the moment I got a screen protector (€6,-) and the original GS3 Flip case (sideways). I also have a black vertical leather flipcase. But now comes the problem.
I find it difficult to type with the case flipped back. You have to kinda hold the phone a bit weird to type and I just don't like it.
My problem with the leather case is that it makes the phone like 2 times as thick.
Now my question: Is it necessary to have extra screen protection next to my screen protector (like with a flip case)? Can I use cases like the Otterbox Commuter in combination with my screen protector without worrying about scratches? I don't want to mess my screen up.
Note: I REALLY don't want any scratches or other stuff on the screen... I just put the phone into my pants and I just use it like a common person. Nothing exceptional.

(knock on wood) I have had an iPod Touch which I used for 1.5 years and I never dropped it. I always put my iPod in a Valenta Pouch, but I just don't think a pouch/pocket is good for a 4.8 inch phone. I don't want something too bulky and be able to use it immediately when I take it out of my pants. Now I'm using the original flip case and that doesn't protect the screen very well against falling. I dropped my phone a few times and I saw the flip part caught the wind from the fall and opened, ending with my phone landing on its screen. That's also why I want a case which has a little part at the front of your bezel/screen, so the screen never touches the surface it's laying on.
I kinda made up my mind, I'm going for the otterbox commuter. Is it a good screenprotector that comes with it?

Screen protector?

I usually do not ask these questions but here it goes. Had my One for a week now no screen protector. Usually I would never go this long without a screen protector. So far no issues and I have gotten use to the glass. Soooooo..... Should I get one for this device?
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
I don't use screen protectors. Every time I ever put one on, it was off again in a day . The screen is glass, and it takes minimal effort to prevent scratches. I work construction most of the time and toss my phone in my tool bag, never had a problem. Screen protectors basically protect the display for the next person who gets your phone, which is pointless to me. You paid for your phone, it should be you who gets to experience the luxury of feeling the slick, smooth glass beneath your finger tips, not the next guy.
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
Yea I understand that. I always try to keep my phone's as mint as possible to trade up after a few months. So far the screen has held up like a champ. I know deep down that all it will take is one scratch and game over.
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
I am getting this phone on Monday and am debating about getting a screen protector or not. I hate cases and such (they ruin the feel and design of the phone) but after having my One X+ get scratched up (never dropped it or put it face down on anything) I am seriously considering getting a screen protector. It seems like other peoples Ones are holding up fairly well so im kinda stuck. (Keep in mind that all my other phones iP4, S2, S3, iP5, never had any scratches on them.)

Exactly how i feel :good:

Bent after two days

Yup, two days with my brand new phone and the thin aluminum strips above both buttons are bent outwards. The phone itself doesn't appear bent but I'll double check when I get home.
I'm thinking it might have something to do with the case I'm using (official Google nexus case) which seems awfully tight and might pull on the case when I'm pressing the buttons.
This doesn't bode well for the quality of the aluminum used.
Update 11/6: I contacted Google customer support. They were very nice and I got the RMA for the phone and the case. The woman seemed to think it was a manufacturing defect for this phone and/or this case only.
I am going to hang back a bit and see how the whole thing shakes out. If this doesn't turn out to be a chronic issue, I will definitely re-purchase a Nexus 6p.
Wow that sucks, how did you discover this?
