HOW TO flash dload FW guide:
UPGRADE USING OTG ADAPTER or OTG CABLE + USB MEMORY STICK
1. Extract dload folder from downloaded archive above (dload folder with all 3 zips inside) and copy to your memory stick / drive (formatted as exFat or NTFS) that will be used to upgrade
2. BACKUP your stuffs if you haven't done yet
3. Factory Reset your phone (optional) and POWER it OFF
4. Insert your OTG + memory stick / drive with the correct firmware on it (dload folder with all 3 zips inside)
5. Press Power button and as it vibrates and shows Huawei + Android logo, hit 3 times Power button and device will reboot again in eRecovery mode. When in menu, select Update mode, then select Memory card/OTG update mode and it should start the update.
UPGRADE USING Huawei NM Card
1. Extract dload folder from downloaded archive above (dload folder with all 3 zips inside) and copy to your Huawei NM Card
2. BACKUP your stuffs if you haven't done yet
3. Factory Reset your phone (optional) and POWER it OFF
4. Press Power button and as it vibrates and shows Huawei + Android logo, hit 3 times Power button and device will reboot again in eRecovery mode. When in menu, select Update mode, then select Memory card/OTG update mode and it should start the update.
OR
If you want to do it from sistem after you've made your backup and had an factory reset (optional), insert OTG + memory stick / drive OR copy dload folder with all 3 zips inside to your Huawei NM Card and dial this on dialer *#*#2846579#*#* and select 4.Software Update then 1.Memory card Upgrade . If your inserted card / memory stick or USB drive or Huawei NM Card it's recognised and contains the right files, phone will restart and start flashing the firmware. At the end when it's restarting after succesfully flashed firmware, you can remove the OTG (if you used one).
How to check for update using eRecovery:
In order to acces eRecovery (using this method in order to update WON'T wipe your phone data, it's acting like an normal OTA), follow these steps:
1. Power OFF your device
2. Press Power button and as it vibrates and shows Huawei + Android logo, hit 3 times Power button and device will reboot again in eRecovery mode
3. When in menu, select Update mode, then select eRecovery mode then Update and recover system then Download update and recover. Connect it to Wi-Fi and it should start the update. If it's still the version you're atm, you can hit Cancel and then Restart. If it's a newer version than the one installed, let it download and update. At the end, it will restart to system.
Clean and succesfully flashing, m8s :highfive:

IF you want to remove ads and you have no root or don't wan't to block your VPN or use Blokada, you can use my trick, it works on both WI-FI and mobile networks, as good as Adaway is doing :
Just set: Settings > Wi-Fi & Internet > Private DNS > dns.adguard.com OR dot-de.blahdns.com then press Save & enjoy ad free browsing without any additional app. These are secure DNS servers that have integrated ad blocking. Adguard is a Russian company, blahdns is a small hobby project with a good history.
Extra step for Chrome users:
- Open Chrome, type in chrome://flags, search for async DNS resolver (#enable-async-dns) and choose disabled in the drop down menu, otherwise Chrome could use a built in dns resolver which does not block ads.

In order to remove Huawei bloatware (and get a better battery lifetime) without root access and using ADB & USB Debugging, please check my thread from the link bellow:
Remove Huawei Bloatware Without Root Access - using ADB & USB Debugging
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As a comprehensive battery optimization mini guide to achieve the best possible SOT's on Huawei phones go to Settings/Battery/App launch and disable the app or give permission to the app you need to run in background (ex. NOT working in background Netflix is set to Managed manually with NO Auto-launch, NO Secondary launch and NO Run in background; WORKING AUTO - OUTLOOK - Manage automatically). Next you can customize notifications separately for any customisable app in own settings.

YES, you will get OTA updates the same as now, when your device SN/IMEI is whitelisted for update on Huawei servers.
This firmware is the oficial stock one, with no modifications and is used by Huawei Service Centers after they've change the motherboard of a device or in order to revive a softbricked device or for their internal tests ?

Hi m8,
This firmware is ONLY for INTERNATIONAL 4G version of Mate 30 Pro. Using it on a 5G Chinese version it will softbrick your device.
Wait for your OTA/eRecovey update and don't flash this version.

Nope ?, but it seems that they are testing some features for Mate 30 Pro on the Chinese market and have released a beta firmware to those enrolled for testing - https://www. huaweicentral dot com/new-features-first-emui-10-beta-rolling-out-for-huawei-mate-30-series/ . So it may take a whille untill they release a new build.
As soon as i get it, i will update OP with it ?

We'll see at that time, but my guess is that they will release 2-3 firmwares faster after people will start buying (as they did every time when launching a flagship) to improve camera software or other stuffs, then they will focus on launching Mate 40 Pro and P40 Pro will get the same treatment as P30 Pro received from October last year (getting some security patches, the update to EMUI 10) untill now...

how can i update my android version

Absolutely impossible to unlock MiPad4 - tested every tutorial the last 5 days - real

Hi guys, after 3 days of testing and testing to unlock my Mi Pad 4 i really have to ask what else i could do.
First what i did till now:
1. got my Mi Pad 4
2. Started it and got an update (i am now on version MIUI 10.1 Stable 10.1.1.0 (ODJCNFI)
3. tested it and because of problems with the GAPPS i wanted to unlock the device.
My account (i have a mi max 2 locked, Pocophone locked and Mi Pad 4) is verified already ( month ago - but i never unlocked a device).
I did not get a message which says you have to wait for xxx hours.
I tested on Win 10 home, Win 10 pro, Win 7 home, Win 7 ultimate.
I tested 13 different cables and overall i tried to unlock the device i think 743563475 times.
I followed every single tutorial i found. i enabled fastboot, USB debugging, OEM unlocking and added my account and device successfull.
My problems are: Most of the time when i am in fastboot and i plug the cable in the mi pads display turns black and it says 'press any key to turn off'
After trying to connect the fastboot Mi Pad 4 to my PC (no matter Win 10 or Win 7 ) after testing 10x or so it works.
Then in the Xiaomi unlocking tool my account gets verified if I have the rights. then it says unlocking ....
Sometimes it stucks at 50% and it says couldnt unlock, sometimes it stucks at 99% and it says couldnt verify the device.
I reseted the device. i tried everything.
i tested all sorts of drivers, i did really everything. When i try to use the command line and type in 'fastboot devices' only '?????? ' appears.
Month and years ago i unlocked 20 or more android devices (mostly LG or Sony) and i worked all the time. But now the Mi Pad 4 is my endboss i dont now what to do.
(i changed my PC so there are no old drivers from LG or sony on my PC)
In short:
i tested Win 7 and 10
i tested many cables
i reseted the device
i tested with and without windows in testmode
i tested with Mi unlock 3.3.827.31
I hope somebody can help me. thanks for every hint and help
And of course i tested the USB 2.0 USB 3.0 and USB 3.1 Ports on all PCs.
https://i.mi.com/find/device/activationlock#
Try find your device if it's bound to another phone number
also there could be problem with your usb port. i have similar problem where if i connect my phone or tab to a certain usb port, it fails to detect properly in fastboot mode. port working just fine in normal mode for data transfer or charging. so try with another computer if possible. and in fastboot mode first check if ur device is available by using "fastboot devices" command. that will confirm if adb can access ur device accurately.
Does you use ryzen series? I aslo has this problem when I use my PC(2600X). When I use my Intel notebook, everything is okey. If you use ryzen series, try to turn to use intel CPU.

Oh man, you are GREAT !
Yes i am using Ryzen 2700x and yes, i built an old frankenstein Win7 PC with my old Intel components. Now its working. I am very angry, because now it says i have to wait 300+ hours before unlocking (even if i already did the unlock process weeks ago) but i am happy, that i now have ONE single "error" message. and now unlocking will be possible i think.
Now i am looking for a good tutorial of how to install WRP properly on my Mi Pad 4, but man, thanks a lot. do you know WHY ryzen is doing such things?

1. what has your question todo with this thread?
2. many shops put own "ROMs" (mostly fake global ROMs) on the tablet, before selling it to international buyers. And for putting custom ROMs on the tablet, the bootloader must be unlocked. You can try original MIUI ROM or Xiaomi.eu with your unlocked bootloader. Would not recommand to use a ROM where the bootloader is opened.. You never know, what they re-seller has installed.
Hello friends,
Now I have a question, which makes me crazy:
Mi Pad 4 3/32GB Wifi
I have installed Miui 10.3 9.2.4 (weekly update) on my device and then got 2 OTA updates so I am now on MIUI 10.3 9.3.7.
Since then, this has happened to me twice, that is, when I restart the device, the device remains on the lock screen and I can not log in.
Everything is possible (use of camera etc. on lock screen) but the screen does not respond to my command to specify pattern or password, that is it does not come at all points for pattern or numbers to show password.
Many times restart did not help either, so I had to delete everything via TWRP (wipe) and then restart Android and I have to trouble fully reinstall everything (apps, etc.)
It's weird and I do not know what to do anymore.
Therefore, please for your advice.

Mi Pad 4 is just one China version available. So you have to download mi flash tool for this device, used drivers also for your pc. Then you can connect your device to PC and start to unlock.
Remember you should have Xiaomi account with username and password.
After connecting to PC and starting flash tool you have to sign in and start. Normally will Xiaomi say you you have to wait for 2-3 weeks. After this time you can back and try again to unlock.
Remember during/ after unlock all of your data will be clean and you have to set the device again.
The rest is installing TWRP and European Rom (EU Room).
If you are from Germany [emoji6] then you are lucky cuz du kannst jede Menge Anleitung in Netz finden bzw bei chinahandy.net
Good luck, viel Glück
see the forums informations and I assume no liability and you do it at your own risk/ ich übernehme keine Haftung und du machst es auf eigene Gefahr.

I tried to follow the process as described above but I get stuck when I try to bond my device in the developer>Mi unlock status page. the system is asking me to put a sim card although this is a wifi only version of MI PAD 4. The China stable ROM is 10.2.1.0 ODJCNXM. I think that as long as the system asks me to put a sim card I am some how lost. any ideas what I could do next?

Ummmm, I think something was wrong. You need 7 time knock on kernel no to be a developer the activate debugging mode to be able to connect to PC, the rest will be made in PC...

How to disable automatic system/ota update in Mi Box 3

Hello, I am using xiaomi mi box 3 4k. After oreo update I am having huge problem with wifi connection. Now I trying replace it from the seller with android 6.0 and after that I will stick with that. But is there any way to disable automatic system update mi box 3 .
If you've got root access then delete the OTA update app.

You should first try to invoke system update from MiBox settings menu on the current device. Most all wifi issues have been resolved in recent months......
There is also a chance your router is one of the brands that has a disaffinity for the Xiaomi wifi/bluetooth chipset. In that case, another Xiaomi device will also fail unless you replace your router.
There is no such thing as unprompted automatic system update.
However, if you want to avoid the chance of a child, so, wife, roommate, gremlin or other unaware person initiating the update process, which requires 3 positive affirmed clicks on box, you can block the following location at your router/firewall.....
https://android.googleapis.com/packages/ota-api/
Good luck

WRONG.....
Not possible on either international Xiaomi MiBox model as admin access to system files is totally impossible since Nougat days.
Any update on this, I can edit a mi box 9.0 firmware then port and flash to my s905x based tv box, runs well but today got a notification about an official Mi Box Update, install fails as it's not using the mi box recovery ect... would like to disable the ota update as I'll create an update manually to install using Amlogoc USB Burn Tool, had a look is the build.prop and default.prop but no ota update url there, cant see an OTA update app either

Wouldn't it be possible to block Xiaomi update servers in hosts?

Mate 10 Pro BLA-L29 C605 stuck on 8.0.0.137

This is a dual SIM model of the Mate 10 Pro. I would like to become more up to date, the last update I received was a security update from July last year. I do love this phone and would like to squeeze more life out of it. The software updater says I'm up to date even though there's quite a few later OTA's and Full firmware releases since the release I am running.
I have attempted using the latest Firmware Finder with the DNS change trick. Everything is green lights within Firmware Finder app, change DNS, attempt to download using the OTA checker in settings and no update is ever found.
I have also tried manually downloading both the full and OTA files and extracting the .app package file into the dload folder of a USB C thumb drive of both fat32 and exfat. The updater (holding volume up/down buttons) gets to 5% reading the thumb drives and fails.
I've played with some of the hisuite tricks and still having no luck. .
Anyone have any most-recent mothods that should work for upgrading my firmware?
Thanks a lot.
-Steve
Got it...
Turns out that I was not flashing a "service" rom which is not easily available from huawei's servers but instead found elsewhere like android filehost. Dload method only allows "service" firmware roms with the "dload" folder in the archive.
Running 9.1.0.300 C605E2R1P12 now.
Thanks guys.
Stevey I too am stuck at 8.0.0.137, what steps did you take to get upgraded??

[GUIDE] New method to install Google Mobile Services on Huawei P40 & P40 Lite

[GUIDE] New method to install Google Mobile Services on Huawei P40 & P40 Lite
Hi guys!!!
I'm thrilled to report that I just found this new way to get Google Mobile Services to work on Huawei and Honor devices that don't have them.
It's totally working [today is 20 june 2020] and it SOLVES the new problem that doesn't let the users sign-in to their Google accounts at the time of the installation.
Everything is very detailed and shown step-by-step on the following video...
Please be sure to download the .zip file that has all the stuff needed to get this to work. Using this method, that zip file must be copied to the root a pen-drive. It's here, for Android 10: https://bit.ly/2ATWPGE
- If the LZ app (big "G" icon") isn't working as expected on your phone, you might have to reset the device.
[UPDATE - 29 / June / 2020]
Important stuff:
- You must have your phone in english in order to proceed with this method.
- After it is complete you can switch back to your preferred language, without problems.
- If you want to add more Google accounts, you should do this procure while you are installing GMS. Use this link: https://youtu.be/jgCN6SeP32c?t=1418 It guides directly to the right moment in that video.
By the way, it's working great for a lot of users. Push notifications, though, aren't working.
Still, I believe this is the best method around.
Cheers!
Any feedback on battery drain once google services are installed?
Asking this because as far as I remember, google services have always been the top consumer in standby on all my phones, and I was happy to get a P40 without GMS, at first, and sadly found out their store is like a no mans' land lol.
I'll probably run without GMS for a while to check how battery drain goes, and see if Huawei is doing a better job If time allows I'll post my findings.
doesnt working Im stuck in the first step, when Im about to restore the backup file...
it just doesnt appear the backup...
has someone with firmware: 10.1.136 successfully installed the services? on the old version it went immediately with 10.1.136 I tried several times now always without success

It is possible to perform a downgrade using HiSuite. I'm considering it myself because i have had no luck installing gms without annoying notifications.

So far, I've tested the Huawei P40 Lite E vs Pixel 3 XL, both without SIM card.
P40 achieves an average of 8mA in standby, while Pixel 3 XL is at an average of 10mA. Not much, but still P40 is performing better.
Usage consumption shows very similar drain around 400-500mA, resulting in both devices showing a run time of about 8 hours. However the Pixel 3 XL battery is aging and have a remaining capacity of 3300mAh, compared to the P40 having 4000mAh (will post actual capacity later).
Usage consumption highly depends on screen technology and brightness levels, the later I haven't checked or messed with.
Noticeably the P40 is brand new and have a brand new battery (still trying to get an estimated battery capacity as I forgot to exclude my app from google AND huawei battery optimizations).
I'd say Huawei services are performing better than Google services, by 20%.
I tried to install google service on my P40 Lite E, but couldn't find a valid method. Are there any way to do so these days?
I was hoping to compare battery life on the P40 Lite E with and without Google services, but it seems a no go now.
How to downgrade a P40 Lite? I have managed to download the correct firmware, but how can i get it to flash on the device?

If you find a way to downgrade firmware, don't forget to post it as I'm sure many may be interested, including me.
you can downgrade easily the ones which don't have the anti-rollback
download firmware, extract the dload folder on some sd card or usb, attach usb otg to the phone and boot with volume up - power. Then select usb update. Worked fine
I do have it for JNY-LX1 if someone needs

Is this JNY-LX1 for the P40 Lite E? Can GMS be installed on it then? If so, I'm definitely interested as I couldn't find a single firmware for the P40 Lite E.
Only found this version so far, but impossible to download because of quota: Huawei_P40_Lite_E_Arthur-L29_10.1.0.112_C185E2R3P1_EMUI10.1.0_05016MMP_Dload.zip
All sites are referring to the same GDrive file, which can't be downloaded, here is one of them: https://firmwarefile.com/huawei-p40-lite-e-arthur-l29
Can you pm some od the info from your system-about? Current emui etc

I read it's impossible to downgrade from EMUI 10.1 back to 10.0 or 9.x, so there's no way I'll be able to install GMS I suppose. IMO phones without GMS are pretty useless. App Gallery have not half the apps on Play Store.
Here are details of system about, just in case I could get my hand on 9.x or older 10.x firmware to attempt a flash.
Device: HUAWEI P40 lite E
Model: ART-L29
Build: 10.1.0.128(C432E2R1P1)
EMUI: 10.1.0

you can downgrade directly on HiSuite
Unfortunately, you can't. On the latest version of HiSuite, you don't have the button with the "Older Versions". If you install an older version of HiSuite, you can't connect to the phone. So this method doesn't work at this moment.

I did that yesterday. I am on windows 7 with HiSuite updated, not sure if that's relevant.
Maybe it is, i am on windows 10 and it doesn't let me do that. I just bought a USB type-C memory stick and i will try to update from it, holding volume up and power button while powering up the phone.

Windows 10 here, no "older versions" for my P40 Lite E. However I manage to downgrade by putting the OTA zip on the SD card and updating from it. Then I was able to install and run lzplay. Now stuck at login though.
